Brother Wilcox is by far one of the most amazing men I have ever met. I walk out of his class and feel so motivated and inspired. I have learned so much from him about The Book of Mormon as feel as valuable note taking and pondering skills. He is my top recommendation for religion classes.

10/10 as a person. He is so genuine and loving and his lectures are incredible. However, his tests are heavily based on what he says in class. The questions will have multiple answers that are technically correct, but you have to go off of what he specifically said in class. That's kind of a struggle, but overall I love him.

Brother Wilcox is an amazing man. Like many others have stated- he is a better motivational speaker than professor. That being said, I loved every class. I learned so many things and really appreciated all the insights he had to offer. His book quizzes are very specific and therefore challenging to get 100%. Wonderful man whom I respect.

Brad Wilcox has great lectures, but his tests are STUPID. All the options on his MC are correct, but it's his opinion that matters. Also, he sets an A at 95%, which is ridiculous. I ended up with a 94.8% in his class and he WOULDN'T ROUND. Don't take a class from him, he's a way better EFY speaker than professor

Brad Wilcox was a great professor!!! Learned more about the BOM than ever before. His tests, however, are very hard and specific. Take notes on everything he says because that is what the exam is over.

Professor Wilcox's lectures are interesting and fun. You learn a lot in this class. For the most part the homework is easy. The tests are hard (no one in my class got 100%) because you have to choose the most correct answer our of several truthful answers, but with curves and extra credit it's still easy to get an A if you pay attention in class.

Brother Wilcox's lectures are by far the best part of his course. I don't find myself agreeing with every word he says, but he introduced me to some really interesting ideas. The few assignments are graded very generously. His test-writing skills are awful, like a lot of others have said. Despite the tests, it's not hard to get an A.

He's an amazing speaker that really brought the spirit, was very genuine and caring, and I learned a lot, but as has been said the A's hard: heavy weight on mult. choice final that's choose best out of correct, but if you pay attention in class and take some notes you'll be fine. Also the quizzes are self-graded, whether you understood the reading.

I loved Brother Wilcox. He provides study guides for the tests, and is always available to talk about class or other topics. His lectures are really inspiring and provide new insights on the gospel and the Book of Mormon. He provides all necessary information for assignments and there are TA's to help if you have any questions.

I'll echo the common thread that Brad is a fantastic person. I've never talked in class but he has said hi to me by name when he's seen me around campus, you can't talk to him without getting a hug, and his testimony is powerful. However, I do feel like I took an "life advice from Brad Wilcox" class rather than BOM... I'd say it was still positive.

The best religion teacher I've ever had!! He always gives inspiring and new insights. Gives very specific study guides for each test so you know exactly what to look for and study. He is very good at reminding when assignments are due and what to do for them. Answers questions specifically. Respects and loves each of his students.

So, out of all the religion professors I've had, this guy is truly amazing. His tests seemed very subjective and the grading overall seemed arbitrary, however his lectures were incredible. He's hilarious and you'll love going to class. I'm disappointed in my grade but the lectures almost made up for it. You'll be surprised by how much you learn.

Brad Wilcox was one of my favorite teachers I've had at BYU so far. He shows a lot of care towards his students. He is very knowledgeable about the subject matter and teaches in a way that everyone can understand. However, his final was tough. Overall, I would highly recommend him.

I heard rumors he was hard, he's not. There are like three one page double spaced essays. He gives you the test questions ahead of time and he isn't famous for nothing, he gives great lectures. I took from him twice, 10/10 would recommend.

Bro. Wilcox is an amazing professor if you're really there to learn. His classes do require some outside work, and skipping lectures isn't an option if you want to pass, but he does give study guides and the insights that he gives are incredible. He was available any and every time that I needed him, and was always willing to work with me.

TAKE HIM! He's a famous speaker for a reason. I never listened well in seminary and never was engaged, but I feel as if I gained a new love for the gospel and the BoM from Brad. No slides ever, and he's often unclear on what to take notes on/what will be on the tests during class, but will give you a study guide for you to fill in before the test.

Honestly, I don't know why people say his class is hard. He gives an amazing study guide for every test! I guess it would be hard if you never went to class though. I echo the statement that the TA's Jake and Braden are def chili pepper worthy.

Brad is amazing and so are his classes. They aren't about arbitrarily memorizing religion facts. They're about developing a love of the scriptures, and Brad definitely helps with that. He has brilliant insights and I honestly can't recommend him enough.

This was the best class I have ever taken at BYU. Brother Wilcox gives amazing lectures, and I gained a newfound love for the gospel and the BOM after this semester. Wilcox gives you exactly what you need to know for the test. All of his assignments are meaningful. This is one of those classes where you get as much as you put in. I suggest really getting into it. You'll learn a lot!

He gave us the entire semester to read the first half of the Book of Mormon, but most of the test questions come directly from class. He gives out a study guide before each test but the tests are HARD! I recommend the class, but take good notes in class of everything he says!

He gives you all the tools you need to do well on his tests. The tests are a large portion of your overall grade, but if you study for them you'll be fine! I loved his class!

Everyone should absolutely take this class. Bro Wilcox is THE BEST, my mind was blown almost every single day with facts about why BOM critics are wrong or how Joseph's teachings relate to us today. Yes, final and midterm are hard but he curves them and theres so many other easy assignments, the class is an easy A and so worth It.

Brother Wilcox really cares about his students and it's easy to stay attentive and captivated during his lectures because he's a good public speaker. An A is not hard to get if you simply put in an effort. My one complaint is that the tests feel like a guessing game based off of what Brad wants you to think instead of a simple test of knowledge

His tests were hard. Definitely pay attention to the lectures, all of his information is given out in lecture. Some of the questions on the test have multiple answers that he gave in class. He will give you a study guide so definitely do the study guide yourself and then heck with multiple people to make sure you got the same answers

There are few assignments, and most are just graded for participation. The tests are difficult - all based off specific statements he makes in class, so make sure to make a friend in the class so you can get notes if you miss a day. However, you will want to go to class because the lectures are amazing and he has so much to share.

He a wonderful lecturer and conveys his love and belief in the Book of Mormon well. You do need a 95% to get an A, but it can be done. Tests are off of what he said in class and could have been more clear. (ex: two answers that are technically right, one that is definitely wrong and an all of the above).

Professor Wilcox is an amazing lecturer. You won't pass by just relying on prior knowledge. He goes super in depth and expects a ton of memorization. Honestly not hard to pay attention in this class, amazing lectures, you learn a lot. He gives a clear overview of what he wants you to learn from this lecture for the test, and the bullet points are on the board. If you are listening you'll get the answers. Midterm was hard, but I didn't study as much as I should've. Straightforward and caring guy!

Brother Wilcox is the sweetest human. I loved this class SO MUCH. 100/10 would take again. Every single lecture left me feeling uplifted and inspired! He sets the A-minus cutoff at 95% (not hard to get an A tho), the class is lecture-based (which I loved but might not be your jam), and the tests are tough with trick questions (but he curves)

Bro Wilcox is an amazing person. So sweet, full of love, strong testimony. Lectures are super interesting, but keep in mind that although this is "the Lord's School" what professors teach isnt necessarily doctrine. But super interesting stuff! Brother Wilcox was the best religion teacher I've ever had. His test questions come directly from being in class so attendance is important. But it wasn't hard at all and the spirit is so strong.

His tests are almost all on his lectures. If you are a return missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ you will love his class and find it really easy. If you are not a return missionary, but a member you will like his class, but it won't be as easy. If you aren't a member of the Church, it is more difficult, but he makes accomadations for you.

Brother Wilcox is an amazing speaker, but he teaches a lot of non-doctrinal things. His class really proved to me how the Book of Mormon is real though which is exactly what I needed. Beware: the tests are not exactly what he teaches in class and rather difficult.

Brad Wilcox is one of my favorite professors of all time!!!! This class is not a slacker class and you must go to class and write down what he says exactly related to the topics he puts on the board. Overall, I learned more in his class than any other seminary, sunday school, or any other religion setting ever!!! Do all the extra credit too!

A 95 is an A in the class, which is a little difficult, but i LOVED his lectures soo much. he was so good at teaching w the spirit and with humor. the only thing is they give you a grace period for assignments but if you miss the grace period, you will be deducted 50%. great class

I love Professor Wilcox! His lectures were great, and he answered so many questions I had. He has a great point of view on church topics. He is also very understanding and caring towards his students, and does all he can to help. The study guides outline every question that will be on the exams, so they're easy to study for. His lectures on the Book of Mormon are very inspirational. He gives more HW than other professors, including two 5 page research papers, but he grades the HW fairly leniently. I learned a lot in his class.

Wilcox is one of the GREATEST professors I've ever had. He puts so much emotion into his lectures and it was by far my favorite class of the semester. As long as you follow the rubric you can get a good grade on the papers. The tests were tricky but use the objective sheet and student Quizlets to study. It was a tough class but absolutely worth it.

People probably take this class expecting not to show up or study and still get an A just because it's a religion class so they give him a low rating. He is the best professor I have had at BYU. Wilcox demonstrates the most amount of care for his students I've ever seen even though he teaches hundreds of kids, it's amazing. Class is super super easy as long as you do ALL the work, but again, the work is not hard. Test questions are tricky but given to you long beforehand and papers are an easy A+ if you follow the rubric. GO TO LECTURES.

Brother Wilcox is an absolutely great guy. His lectures are amazing. Don't skip class, you'll miss out on some amazing spiritual insights (and information for the test). Brad Wilcox's lectures are phenomenal! Before class starts, he tells you exactly what to listen for during the lecture so you are prepared for the exam. He is usually looking for a very specific answer so make sure you take notes word for word of what he says. His exams can be difficult, but he does give extra credit to make up for it.

Disclaimers first: You need to take good notes and be present at each class. If you can do that, this is a beautiful and inspirational class! As good as his books, haha. Brother Wilcox's tests are not hard. Each lecture he writes questions on the board. Listen for the answers to them during class. Those are the only things on the quizzes. It's not a difficult course if you make the effort to go. Aside from tests several pieces of grading are self-evaluated.

Brad Wilcox is SO AMAZING! It's mostly watching his amazing lectures and taking specific notes for the exams. You can use the study guide with your notes on the exams. I got about an 85 on both exams since some questions are tricky. It's less of a class and more of a spiritual experience besides the exams! Take it from him, no matter the sacrifice!

He is so great! You can really feel the Spirit in his lectures, and you'll learn so much! He;s funny, sweet, and cares about students. He will bend over backwards for you, though his deadlines are firm. Make sure you take notes, because he lets you use the study guide on the test. I loved Brad's class Fall 2020. His lectures were very great, reminded me of conference talks honestly. Grading criteria is clear and easy, he tells you EXACTLY what you need to know from the lectures for the tests. Even let us use our study guide on the exam! Christ and the Everlasting Gospel was an interesting class. I liked taking it from Brother Wilcox, not my favorite class he's given, but he went into a good amount of detail and the class was pretty easy and basic.

I've heard a lot about him and was excited to do his class. I've only watched videos and not a lot of interaction with him but his lectures were good and only graded you on few things. The midterm and final are heavy but great class overall.

This is my 2nd class with him and hes AMAZING! He teaches in a way that if you want an A you need to do the work but he doesnt grade harshly because its about personal spiritual growth and knowledge, not grades. Just watch the lectures, take the notes for the study guides you can use on the tests, do a few other assignments, and youll get an A.

Do yourself (and your future) a favor and take Brother Wilcox while you can. There's no secret to why he's been called to write, teach, serve, and testify of what is most important. I could end with an F but still count this as one of the biggest successes of my time at BYU. Hands down one of the most influential combinations of class/professor.

This class is overall good and easy to pass. The grading is pretty clear and loose (I got all assignments 100% except the exams, including the atonement paper), and exams are easy if you've complete the study guide or went to the Quizlet. However, I had a tough time with the lectures without slides.

Amazing. Before starting each lecture, he will announce every point in the lecture that you want to be looking for. Those points were tested and it was clear to know what to study. His lectures are beyond inspirational. The way he teaches makes you think differently and pulls you in to learn more. Highly highly recommend.

I loved taking Book of Mormon from Wilcox. His lectures are very engaging and interesting. As long as you go to class, pay attention to the lectures, and take notes you will do well on the final. There weren't too many assignments in that class either!

Brother Wilcox is amazing, and I'm planning on taking a different class from him next semester! His lectures are wonderful, and I've learned so much. He gives you a study guide in the beginning and the answers for it are in his lectures throughout the semester which you can use on the midterm and final. There are few assignments in this class.

Brother Wilcox's lectures were some of the best I've attended at BYU. Super powerful and spiritual. His tests are a breeze if you show up each day and fill out your study guide. He is a fast talker though so be ready to pay attention and take specific notes each lecture. You do have to write one medium length paper and several shorter ones.

Professor Wilcox literally changed my life. I took his class just because I had heard he was one of the funny BYU religion professors, but every single lecture was super inspirational. Seriously, take this class from him.

Brad is NOT a tough grader. Beginning of the semester you get a study guide, each lecture there are questions on the study you need to answer, Prof. Wilcox makes sure you get the answers you need. He throws some humor into his lectures, but is genuinely a spiritual giant! He really cares about his students.

Easy class if you use the study guide and go to lecture. Had to write a few papers, but nothing too hard. However, I don't love his teaching style. It often felt like he was a motivational speaker trying to rile us up, which some people enjoy but I don't.

Brother Wilcox's Teaching and Doctrine of the Book of Mormon was an amazing class. There was almost no homework, and his lectures felt like devotionals each class. He gives you a study guide with the word-for-word answers to the tests, and lets you use it on the test.

Brad is a great professor who makes his lectures fun. He is very intelligent as well, but can come off as cocky sometimes haha. The two extra day thing for assignments was confusing at first, but basically everyone has 2 extra days in case you forget. I thought the 5 page paper was a little long, but other than that the class was easy.

While attendance is not "mandatory" for getting a grade, not coming to class will significantly reduce your ability to do well in the class. This is the easiest religion class you will take at BYU, and perhaps the easiest class period. Yet, Brother Wilcox makes it to enjoyable and spiritually uplifting. If you miss a couple days, you can always ask someone for the notes, and he encourages that. All the assignments are easy, and you learn a lot. Some of his lectures are dry but it's still worth it.

As long as you come to class, you'll get a good grade. Wilcox is famous for his jovial presence and it translates into the classroom. He tells a lot of interesting stories. Sometimes he can be a bit egotistical and he can also be a bit mean towards certain groups of people (ie exmos). Otherwise, totally worth taking his class, would take again.

Dr. Wilcox is exactly what I like in a religion professor. He facilitated a spiritual atmosphere, but the exams were easy. The papers were wonderful opportunities to strengthen my testimony that I was excited to write. I received much personal revelation, and as long as you show up class for the study guide answers, the exams are a breeze.

Yes, he gives you all the answers for the tests as long as you come to class. BUT, 1.because of how easy it was I actually didn't learn anything 2.he says some weird doctrinal stuff and 3.he talks about sacred temple stuff very openly so I wouldn't recommend taking his class specially if you're not endowed. It's Brad Wilcox and he's easy why not take it? Although, I will say he's the best teacher for strengthening testimonies, there's probably better teachers for you if you are struggling with your faith. But either way he's got a great heart and I love the man!

Why are you reading a review about Brother Wilcox? Just get in the waitlist for his class and pray you get in

I could not express the love that radiates out of his classroom. This was one of the easiest and most inspiring religion classes I have ever taken. He is very knowledgeable about the Bible and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. The assignments and tests are so easy, never had to worry about this class for a second!

Why are you even looking at reviews for Brother Wilcox? The only thing you should be worried about is whether or not you're getting into his class. If you do get in, congrats, and just be a sponge to everything he says.

He teaches the way I think religion classes should be taught. Inspirational lectures with a test study guide we fill out at the end of class. He gives you the answers for the test at the end of every class. If you go to class you will easily pass the class. If you skip class, you doom yourself with the free test answers although ask him for grace.

I learned so much in this class! Brother Wilcox is passionate and cares deeply about the students. He makes it easy to succeed by prioritizing lectures and learning, and giving you the info you need for the tests. His lectures were inspiring, engaging, often entertaining, and spiritual. I would definitely recommend a class from him!
