i took his math class he did a good job, but when i took his industrial he did not know how to teach. when he comes to class not ready he talkes nonsense just to cover the time for class. i attended his micro class and also did not cover material good. he is helful. but if he likes a girl she will get an A even if she does not know anything, bad.
He is very entertaining and knows what he is doing. The tests can be tricky but he is a fair grader. I took the class in the summer and there are no assignments or quizzes. He can get sidetracked easily and go off on a tangent but it's funny when he does because it wakes you up. I would recommend taking him for ECON 103.
By far, one of the best professors I have ever had. Tests can be difficult, but if you learn the models, you will have no problem. A very good person to know. Extremely intelligent, and grasps your attention in class.
We good teacher, took this class as a Math major, and I am realyl enjoying it. Kinda hard, but a fair guy. You will learn alot!

take this prof. only if you really want to learn about economics. he is helpful, not easy but trust me you will learn about supply, demand, elasticity and a lot more. if you are lazy look for a different professor.
he gives you very good material to study for tests, all econ tests are kind of confusing though no matter your prof, this is not the easiest class, you have to be willing to work for your grade.
Wimmer I thought was good teacher hes willing to go over things again if you ask. Overall hes a nice guy. However the class is hard, but as long as you show up to collect points from the random quizzes its passable.

VERY good econ professor. He made sense to me so i didnt had to study too much. :) His class could have been called Logistic and Common sense. Because of him i picked up ECON as a minor. Thanx Mr. Wimmer!
Average professor in all aspects.
Nice guy, hard class, hard material but if you work it you can get an A
Don't take any other professor but him for 302. Read the book and study. Know everything. Don't take Chen. I got an A. The class is difficult but he doesn't make it a math class. Best teacher at UNLV for intermediate micro by far.
He barely uses the book and sticks to his tutorials. He can be very unclear in these tutorials. You have to go in and speak to him to clear things up. Pricing is his baby. Be careful when you get there.
Wimmer is extremely arrogant. His confidence does not parallel his mastery on the subject, however.
Great professor! Willing to explain concepts in different ways to get his point across. Clearly loves the subject. Tests are difficult, read the material and understand it completely. Comprehension is paramount. His tutorials are amazingly helpful. Take good notes, they were a huge help.
Really hard class but great teacher, I learned a ton. He always sweats a lot but other than that hes pretty dreamy. Go to his office any time you have a question or even give him a call. He is always on campus (I think he lives in his office)
So far I love this professor. His class is exciting and he is funny. Some people think his tests are hard, but as long as you understand the information, they're not bad. he doesn't want you to memorize stuff. You will definately learn from this guy. I wish he was teaching ECON 303.
he's also pretty cute:)

Hard class, he makes even harder, just read the book,he is not specific, he needs some improvement in his teaching. or just need to stick with MBA classes. overall his neutral.
Grades very fair and even helps you in your grade. goes over somethings constantly, but others only once. I missed about two classes and what I missed had a big effect on the test. READ THE TUTORIALS makes class ALOT easier. you will put alot of effort in class, tons and tons of subject matter, hits you fast. uses real world experience. GREAT CLASS
Really hard class. He is unclear. He expects you know everything when you go to his classes. I think he just makes everything harder when he teaches. Tip:just go by the book...a lot easier:)
I understood him in his lectures. And I understood the book. When I took the test, I didn't know anything. Just dropped the class today. His review questions doesnt help with the test.
Memorize the book and you will do fine. Be glad that you don't have Chen.
I had him for Econ 302 and Econ 402 Law and Economics class. Nice guy, but his teaching is all over the place. His lectures are not always clear (read the book! you will get more) and his grading is extremely tough. He knows his stuff but he is not very good at explaining it. However on the test you better know it, or your grade will reflect it.
This class was hard but I have heard that it's the course material not the professor.
Wimmer has a passion for economics and shares that with his students! He is a great teacher, easily approachable and genuinely concerned about his students.
He is a very difficult teacher. I seemed to understand his lectures but then on the test I am clueless. He is very passionate but he is very confusing at times. Tests are VERY difficult and there are only 3. Overall, its very difficult and if you don't know anything about Economics already I would not take him.
I took this class last Sem with a different teacher & failed miserably. Wimmer is obviously very passionate & knowledgeable about the subject & is very good at conveying the concepts. ECON is a very difficult subject and Wimmer explained it very clearly.
"Wimmer is a harsh taskmaster". He expects you put in the work to learn the material and prepare for the exams. (i.e. read the chapters before you go to class). However, Wimmer is almost always in his office and is more than willing to help you understand the underlying concepts and theories. Econ itself is difficult; Wimmer will help you pass it.
Dr. Wimmer is a very talented instructor of economic theory. He has the ability to dissect and explain very complex economic arguments at whatever level needed by his students need to understand the material. Highly recommended.
Wimmer is very smart, but his lectures are all over the place. It's hard to tell what chapter he is talking about during lectures, let alone if he is even following the book. He's too unorganized. I recommend avoiding.
He teaches this class like his 400 level class. Tries to teach us the concepts in each chapter but jumps around when he tries. Always talks about his other classes and doesnt concentrate on the info we need for the chapters and exams. He is very smart but makes it difficult for us to comprehend because he expects us to know what he is talking about
He is an awesome teacher, and very funny. As far as his class went, most people failed the first test miserably. He expects you to understand underlying contexts not just the material written in the book. Him: "If you attend class and do all the work you might even receive a C"
He is a very sweet guy and very entertaining too. You will a lot for him. He is overload knowledgeable.
Yes this is a hard class. He is very good at clarifying and answering questions.
He is the best economics professor at UNLV. At this level, you can't expect easy. I've never worked so hard for a class, but it's never been more worth it. Always take Wimmer.
I really enjoyed Dr. Wimmer's class! His homework questions and tests are definitely not easy, but you can't expect easy in an MBA-level class. He really cares about how well his students understand the material, and above all, he is an extremely effective teacher.
Professor Wimmer knows his subject matter well, but is not the best "teacher." I read the book, but lectures were still confusing. People who were econ majors and graduating that semester were confused sometimes as well. However, he gives thorough study guides before exams. If you study those, you will do well.
He teaches very well. Although sometimes, he is lost actually because he is too excited. In general, he is great in terms of delivering knowledge.
Dr. Wimmer's class is very informative, you will learn so much in this class. We have six homework, which are much harder than the three exams. He is not a tough grader, but BS won't help you at all. Make sure that you understand all the questions on the homework, you will for sure end up with an A in this class eventually. He can be very loud. :)
Dr. Wimmer is definitely well-educated and knows his subject very well, but I could not do well with his teaching style. He teaches through example, and all of my class notes are just graphs and problems. You really need to be motivated and dedicate a lot of time to this class if you want to be successful for the cumulative final.
In order to pass this class and do well, you must read the book, attend class, and do the homework. Study the chapters beforehand so you can ask him questions during class.
There is a LOT of online homework. This is the type of teacher you either love or hate. Some students really liked him but others, like myself, thought the lectures were long and hard to connect with. He tries to be funny (he laughs at his own jokes), but sometimes he does this by putting down the students. Unless you love Econ, don't take him.
Prof Wimmer really wants you to learn! It isn't an easy class coz he makes you work for the grade. He goes quick often but his lectures are amazing. He gets very excited about the subject and gets us engaged, which helps me learn better. I've never worked harder but never been this satisfied with my understanding on a subj.A solid professor overall.
He really tries to find ways for students to grasp a subject, that is something I really appreciated in his class. He knows what he's talking about, definitely one of the best professors at UNLV
Class is made up of 2 major exams & a cumulative final (half new content, half review). Around 2 online quizzes for every chapter covered. The course requires you to do a lot of outside studying to make sure you thoroughly understand every aspect of every concept. Wimmer really wants you to have a deep understanding. In class lectures are helpful.
In terms of general application if economic theory, this is the best class I have taken. If you enjoy reading and then using class to critically apply readings, this is your chance. Just two papers and two exams, and lots of quality reading. Main textbook is well-written and readable, IMO. Engaging lectures & clear grading. Part of Brookings Minor
He's a great guy, but not the best teacher. It's difficult to follow him during lectures. Your best bet is to read each chapter before the lecture so you understand what he's talking about. GET A'S ON ALL YOUR HOMEWORK, ITS WORTH A LOT AND CAN MAKE OR BREAK YOUR GRADE IF YOU'RE STRUGGLING.
I wish I had taken another professor. His teaching style was hard to understand for me. All graphs that basically looked the same. No powerpoints at all. It wouldn't be so bad if his handwriting was at least decent. If you're more of a visual learner I wouldn't recommend this class. The only good thing about him is that he records his lectures.
Super cool and funny. The content is difficult, but he really tries his best to make sure the class understands it. Just online hw and three tests, but he makes the tests cumulative to help students. Be sure to sit close because it is hard to hear from the back. You don't need the textbook, but it can help with lectures.
Dr. Wimmer is an understanding and professional instructor. He's fair and cares about his students. He gives his best effort for you to understand the material and pass the class. If I could pass the class, then anyone can if you put in the effort. He has great exam study sessions than I recommend everyone to take advantage of :)
Dr. Wimmer is a great person, and he seems to know what he's talking about, however he is not the best teacher. I took this Public Policy class because I thought it was interesting, but I essentially ended up confused as ever. I got most of my understanding from the books. He gives you papers however he's a tough grader with vague criteria.
Plz don't take. Knows a lot, but 2 much work 4 a 300 Lvl. 5 papers 1 page. 3 papers @ 6 pages. 2 group presentations. 2 spontaneous presentations during semester. No/late slides for class. About 24, 20-page articles, 20-30 pages each. No book use, uses his slides. 1 midterm, & final a little cumulative. Bad feedback on e-mail. Look for syllabus.
The worst professor I have ever taken.
Very disorganized and work-demanding. I feel completely lost every time after I get out of the class. It wouldve been nice if he is at least an easy grader.......
Well he's a nice guy but I literally let his class lost everyday just because he's so unorganized in his teaching style. The only way to pass this class was to literally get in a good study group and teach ourselves.
DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR. His lectures are very unclear and he jumps around from topic to topic. He enjoys belittling students that ask questions. His handwriting is AWFUL and all his does is draw graphs on the whiteboard and you cannot read what he wrote ever. When students ask him to clarify he starts yelling. save yourself the trouble.
It was my first year at UNLV and I was hoping for amazing lectures and ton of fun, for the most part all of them are great expect Mr. Wimmer. He is very disorganized in the way he teaches and speaks, don't get me started with his hand writing, handful of times had to ask what he just wrote. The only bright side is he posts these inclass recordings.
Let's just say get ready to teach yourself Econ 102. He is very unorganized and is a very fast talker. He only has three tests and one of them is the final. He doesn't put grades in Canvas. This whole semester I felt lost and stupid. All his "Old Exams" he gives you to practice are nothing like the exams you take. He's a nice guy but good luck.
Professor Wimmer is not for everyone. I found his lectures extremely simple and easy to understand. His exams are pretty easy if you constantly seek help with difficult topics. If you are extremely strong in the field of math or have a passion for economics, I would highly recommend him. Otherwise, you're better off finding another professor.
Very difficult class, but there are lots of ways to study. Personally, I read the textbook and attended lectures and did fine. Hard to understand at times but don't be afraid to ask questions.
Dr. Wimmer is a very personable guy, but sometimes goes off on tangents that he tries to tie into his lecture. I did have to do quite a bit of learning outside of the classroom, but he does he part to help you understand the topic. He moves through things pretty quickly since he's dealt with the topic for so long. Attendance is highly recommended.
If you put effort into learning the material then you should be able to pass the class. Although he does go off on tangents often, if you have read the chapter you should be able to follow along with his lecture. He provides supplemental online review and old exams that are very similar to the tests he gives out. He cares about students learning
Dr. Wimmer is a great professor. He teaches you how to apply the material you learn to real life. The class is tough if you dont keep up or try to understand the material. If you put in the work, its not bad at all. He is very understanding and wants you to do well.
Wimmer is very rigid and does not give any clear examples. I am a Com Major with a Minor in Marketing and wanted to take Econ 102 to learn Econ. But with the class being online it was awful. Wimmer doesn't explain how to use equations what so ever and there if very little organization to his lectures. I would not recommend this class to anyone.
Dont take it!!!!!
Professor Wimmer's online class is great. Meetings are optional but if you wanna pass easily, attend at least one a week. It is a lot of work with reading and watching his premade lectures but the material is easily learned. He cares about his students and has no problem giving help to those that ask. Easily one of my top professors.
Online, this class was tough. He had pre-recorded lectures that sometimes ran for almost an hour, but they weren't too helpful. During discussion time he would go on lots of tangents and would leave a lot of the discussion on the material up to the students who showed up. If you try, I'm sure you'll get at least a C.
One of those classes you have to take and are glad when it's over. Lectures are really information dense and you have to watch all of them to have a chance of understanding the homework or tests. I did fine but he's a really tough grader, saw points knocked off for pretty ridiculous things in whats basically an intro class
People are being way too harsh about this guy. His lectures are clear, he follows the textbooks and he is very friendly. I only went to meetings when I had a question because the lectures were recorded. The homework is straight from the textbook. He also does exam reviews where he gives lots of hints about what will be on the test! He's a great guy
Dr. Wimmer is a very harsh grader. If you do not answer the prompt exactly like he envisions or he isn't able to understand what you are saying in your own words, then you will not pass any of his classes. He is terrible. His videos are super long and obnoxious. He acts very arrogant on the calls. Messages the class daily on econ political topics.
1-2 hours of graded HW weekly. 2 hours of lecture videos a week which you will watch more than once to understand. His grading scale literally says homework with one small error gets a 7/10, people stop caring about doing HW well cause it's near impossible to get something other than a 70%. I hope the MBA office looks at how he is doing things
This teacher is absolutely terrible. He needs to be fired for unprofessionalism and is absolutely insane. He is the worst grader in the entire economics department. If he is on tenure, the school needs to fire him. He has to have every word exact or you don't receive full credit even when you display you know it. Grades you based on you, not work.
Not the best class I've ever had.
Quite an arrogant guy. Also a middle school student could have better hand writing than him though. His scribbles makes his lectures harder to understand - both pre-recorded and live online class. He is a harsh grader on homework assignments, which seems like we have to answer the exact words he expects, which is nearly impossible.
Its clear that this professor has tenure. Worst class so far at UNLV.
Dr. Wimmer is a knowledgeable person and a good professor. If you are interested in economics, choose him. In the process of study, he is strict with students, but he will give you a fair and reasonable result for your efforts after the final exam. The questions in his exams are intelligent but not difficult.
Dr. Wimmer is not a good instructor. He assumes the class already has a grasp on economics. His assignments are ridiculously hard, and graded even tougher. It is evident this prof has tenure because he seems like he could care less. Required class for the MBA program, I would highly consider a different university.
This man is a terrible tenured professor, and never explains how to solve problems. Bradley Wimmer fills his lectures with life stories rather than how to learn materials, randomly calls on students then pressures them to answer quickly. Wimmer has an under-deserved inflated ego, he runs his lessons to confuse and dazzle students, not to teach.
He sucks. The grades only ride on the exams and he makes his own questions. He doesn't go over homework and talks about his personal life a bunch.
Lectures are long and filled with filler of life stories. Homework was easy so it didn't help with grasping ideas. Read the text book and study on your own time to really understand everything. Test heavy grade and no extra credit. Consider another class if you want to really learn and not memorize. If you do take this class, study the graphs a lot
The majority of your grade is based on how well you do on exams, not your homework. Even if you do all of your homework (and do it well) but do subpar on your exams, you will not pass. His lectures are not useful, that is if you intend on learning something, if you for some reason enjoy hearing someone talk about their life then go to his lectures.
You need to study for tests. Don't just rely on the online homework. He has videos basically on every topic/chapter that the book has. Watch them and take notes and really try to understand what is going on. Don't fall behind. The concepts build on each other. You need to pay over $100 for the book/online homework, which is my biggest complaint.
He was one of the best professors I have taken, he was fair and clear with grading.
Don't take this class. The teacher talks to students as if they already have a grasp on Economics and ruins passion for any form of Econ that you have. Took 3 Exams all year and made sure they were very hard because he expected cheating. The teacher has no idea what the homework is being given out as it is given by a third-party website. Don' take.
Professor Wimmer is a great guy and he did help any student who didn't understand Econ. If you engage with him, watch the video lectures, turn in the homework and get extra help you will understand Econ. He goes over the video lecture in class but be prepared some of the videos are long. If you attend class and engage with him you should be fine.
He set the tests to not allow you to go back and check your answer before submitting. Once you submit a questions answer you cant go back and think on it. You have to just move on. His homework was kinda unhelpful. Lots of graphing and if youre off slightly you lose points. Overall not awful. Homework website has test prep. Use that.
Most overwhelming class in the MBA program. The issue isn't the difficulty of the material, but rather the incredibly heavy workload and the professor's inaccessibility. About 3 hours of mandatory videos per week. Back to back homework and projects. His responses to questions about the homework are vague and unhelpful.
Dr. Wimmer's class has been my favorite class so far in the MBA program. It's tough for an introductory class, but that's to be expected in an MBA program. I've learned so much from this class in a short amount of time. If you do your best to keep up in this class, you'll learn to see the world around you in a completely new way.
group homework or project weekly, 2-3 chapters weekly, hours of videos weekly, class, group meetings, exams. 12 group assignments - punishing good students by saddling them with unreliable students. This class is overwhelming.
Taking this course I was skeptical with reviews. Although there is a lot of homework, the exam grades will be a reflection of your overall grade. This was a 455 class that is same material covered for master students. If you put in the work and reach out to the professor he will help you! His lectures are pretty amazing.
Prof. Wimmer is a great presenter. Only issue is tends to ramble and move quickly. Was hard to learn what to study because of how he presents. HW was annoying as it was all online.
i previously took macroeconomics before his class and despite the difficulty of the class i ended up passing it with an A. this is the worst professor i have ever had in my life. he rambles on in his lectures and his handwriting is so bad that you cannot see what he is even writing on the board. if you are a visual learner DO NOT TAKE!
He doesnt know how to teach he just be yapping.
Professor Wimmer is a great professor (knowlegeable and very caring) once you get to know him personally to understand his logics and his distinct ways of teaching. I liked how his online course materials facilitated my understanding outside of class. Those who team up with a bright teammate for the homework assignments will have a leg up.
Class was incredibly difficult for me and classmates. He rambles off topic and talks about concepts as if you already have the context - this class only requires 102, 103, and stats preq. He takes forever to grade anything so you never know your actual grade. The tests are very difficult, his study guides don't match up with the test. Please avoid.
Unfair
Professor Wimmer can be tough, but if you stay engaged and use resources like the textbook and unstuck AI, you can do well. The lectures are dense, but helpful if you put in the work.
