Little's an extremely capable professor with a lot of knowledge in his subject. He's fun to listen to and willing to help with anything. As long as you go to class and listen to his lectures you'll be fine.
His reading load is a bit heavy and he passed out a whole packet for a study guide, but other than that his class are avg. His lect. are fun easy to understand does not go too fast and I loved his jokes. Does not get off track and balances the class well. Wish we had discusions on the readings but you can't have it all.
Dr. Little is a good professor, I took his 1700 class it is a bit hard to follow but when attending class it is fun to follow his lectures. He keeps it fun with some political and all kinds of jokes. The hard part was the tests-when he asks you to identify a ID he wants a TON of info on it like a s much background as you can get.
Prof. Little is a very well spoken teacher. He addresses every aspect of his tests in the lectures. The texts are helpful if you are bad at keeping up on events. The essays are the most heavily weighted part of the class.
He knows what he is talking about and makes the class lectures interesting. However, when it comes to his exams and the Weekly IDs (essay) section, all of your exam score reflects those 5 terms. He says he will try and give at least some credit if you bother to type a response, not my experience. And his examples of perfect scores (10), are like
Professor Little is one of the best history teachers I have had. He is extremly willing to help. Be sure to attend class, most of the exams come from his lectures. If you listen well and know the exam material, its a breeze.
This Prof. class is fairly easy, however, he didn't seem to make any of the tests with the actual material he gave out for studying. He was willing to help but the overall help he gave was lacking. I wouldn't take this class from him again or recommend him to anyone. I love history and found his class to be less than expected.
Fun and interesting class. If you study your ID's for the tests, you should be fine.
BOTTOM LINE, DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS FROM THIS PROFESSOR! He never says to read the textbook and then information that may have been found in the book, showed up on the tests! How a student who attends class everyday and has multiple pages of notes from every lecture cannot pass the class is beyond me!
Little is very interesting and fun to listen to, he knows what he's talking about. However, this class was NOT easy. the whole grade is based on four exams only and the information on the eams was not consistant with that discussed in class so it's very difficult to know what to study. I don't suggest this class if you care about your GPA.

Very good Prof. He knows his stuff. For the one who said he never told you to read the book, are you serious??? Most Hist. Prof would not give you a book to buy if you weren't suppose to read it. Get real this is a University not high school.
Amazing teacher! He inspired me to really love history. His lectures are very amusing, he's' funny and knows his stuff. His tests are very passable if you TAKE GOOD NOTES and read the syllabus on what to read out of the book for the tests. Awesome teacher, I would take his class again in a heartbeat.
TERRIBLE Professor! very discouraging! I highly recommend not taking his course
He is a fabulous professor, but don't take this class if you aren't up for a challenge. His test are easy ONLY if you attend class, take good notes, and read the documents. He loves the subject and has a passion for teaching it. I am so glad I stayed in this class, even though I'm not ending up with an A I learned a lot.
Professor Little is the best history instructor I've ever had. It's crucial to go to class, so as long as you actually go and take really good notes you'll do well. Professor Little is always willing to help and clarify things, and he actually cares about his students. He's an excellent lecturer and definitely knows his stuff. Highly recommended
Professor Little is great! I struggled on the first exam and I met with him to dicuss how I could do better! He really took time to help me do my best! This class was great! I'm glad I took 1700 from Little!
Easily one of the best professors at Weber State. He is a fantastic lecturer and obviously cares a great deal about his subject. He does expect a lot out of you (so take good notes and use your brain!), but you will learn SO MUCH!!! I only wish he taught more upper-division classes!
Enthusiastic teacher and entertaining classes. Do not miss any of them, or get good notes. Most of the tests are from lecture and a few from readings. He is a great teacher who is willing to work with you as needed.
Was a great teacher to watch. Tests were a little hard but most of us made it that studied. Sadly though, even the ones that did study and knew the chapters front to back only got a B in the class. I got a C by working my ass off and even getting help from him everyday. Even though I learned so much and retained much of it.
DO NOT TAKE A CLASS FROM THIS PROFESSOR!!! Bottom line. I went to class every day, took 2-5 pages of notes per day on my laptop... studied a ton, and still got an E in his class. He says do not ask him a question until you have looked for the answer in his 6 page syllabus. which never tells which book you're supposed to read. And he wont tell you.
This class requires you to study, and attend daily. If you take notes and do the outlined reading you'll pass, however getting an A is a little tough because the grade is solely test based. This professor is obviously passionate about his field and he is really knowledgable. He has a subtle sense of humor, too. I would recommend taking his class.
The class is easy enough if you pay attention and take care not to surround yourself with talkative people. He also makes a lot of pop culture references, so that's pretty sweet.
PAY ATTENTION in class and do the reading. No homework, grade based off a few test which are quite difficult if you don't go above and beyond. He has a great sense of humor, and had the class laughing occasionally. Although, he wasn't very nice when I'd ask questions right after class. Also wasn't at his assigned office hours a couple times I went.
GREAT PROF. Uses very good, entertaining, powerpoints as visuals for lectures. A LOT of reading is assigned but I would advise you not to read the text book or novel and put all your focus into the notes and ID's he gives. This class takes dedication but it is VERY ENJOYABLE. He is a pleasant person to be around and is very funny.LOV HOW HE TEACHS!
He was a funny professor. You had to pay attention to get his jokes. While it was a good class, it was very difficult for a general ed course. I wouldn't recommend taking it if you already have a heavy workload with your other classes or if you aren't a history major. I felt like some of his tests were based on content that was barely glossed over.
As long as you study your IDs and document readings you should pass the class. Do not by the textbook! It is not required to pass the class. I did not even read it once. As for the other book just sparknotes it. He is a great professor, but his class was difficult. Your grade is based on just 4 tests, so GO TO CLASS and take A LOT of notes!
He is an amazing teacher as long as you attend class and do the assigned reading. I prefer his teaching style by far, however he is a better teacher to take if you are a history major, if not you may not get some of his jokes. I definitely recommend that if veterans need to take an upper division class you take his military history classes.
First let me start by saying I am a bit lazy and not a genius. With that said, he is an excellent Professor. Go to class, take good notes, study your notes, and you will have no problem passing. His teaching is done by lecturing. If you pay attention to the lectures, he is actually a pretty funny guy. If you need help, he will help you. Recommend.
I did NOT like this class. The professor himself is a cool guy but the class was very difficult. He speaks very fast making it hard to take notes, and he didn't explain what books we should be reading. I'd take good notes but still didn't pass the exams.
Never skip class!!! He only lectures. No homework or powerpoint to take notes on just have to listen. The book he has you buy doesn't really help only opened it a few times.
Professor Little is a very funny guy. His sense of humor can really help make class interesting. Keep in mind, however, that attending class, taking THOROUGH notes, and paying attention will be necessary. Otherwise, you will end up with a poor grade or failing the course. I would recommend that you take notes with a laptop.
I HATED this class. Sure history isn't my favorite thing in the world, but it was bad. Little gives great lectures but there are only 4 exams with no assignments. Tests are extremely tough. Study your notes like nobody's business. The text book was a waste of money. Never read it. All the info in his lectures are on the exams. Good luck.
This class grade is based on four things: two assignments and two tests, one of each due at midterm and as a final. The lectures are super long and hard to stay engaged with if you aren't a big history buff. It is hard to please the professor when writing papers because he is looking for more or a dissertation. Be sure to take notes by hand.
He is so so so funny. If you don't show up you won't pass, but what's the point of attending and paying for college if you don't plan on attending... I would take his classes a million times over!
Little definitely has a good knowledge about History and has a good passion for teaching it--the only problem is his teaching methods. He moves from subject to subject too fast, expecting you to take full notes on everything and remember everything 100% for the tests, which, by the way, are the only things that compose your grade. I don't recommend
Professor Little made history one of the worst classes I have ever taken. Your grade will consist of 4 tests, that is it. He rarely offers extra credit and he is not easy to talk to. He will not compromise, rather just tells you that his tests are excellent and you must be dumb. I would not take this class ever even if I was paid to.
Here's the thing about prof Little's class; it's a college class, it's not supposed to be easy. Prof Little lectures every day, and his class is exam based. The exams are challenging but if you put in the work, you will receive a proper grade. He's very intelligent, intuitive, and I found his vast amount of historical knowledge to be interesting.
Learned a lot from Dr. Little's class. Your whole grade is based off of four tests, so if that freaks you out steer clear. However, his lectures always cover the material and he is very knowledgeable about the subjects. But be sure to show up every day or there is no way you'll pass the tests!
The best lectures I have ever had regarding any subject, he actually inspired me to switch my major. He is clear, concise, unbiased, and sincerely wants you to learn the material. He assigns a lot of reading that is required for participation in class, and it is all well written material as well as informative.
By far the worst structured class I have ever taken. There are 4 tests that make up your whole grade. The problem is he only tells 50% of what to study. The other half of the exams are multiple choice questions that can come from his lectures or the book. Do not take this class if you are looking for an easy A.
Probably one of the worst teachers Ive ever had. When you message him to see what you can do to improve he is unbelievably rude. He moves from subject to subject without you even know what subject hes talking about. Your grades only based on 4 exams. Very unprofessional with writing the peoples names on the board who are going to fail.
He very negative and shows no support. I never felt like he wanted to help me. I felt more like a burden to him. I do not recommend this teacher!!
This professor is very rude. The class is based upon four exams. He is very hard to work with. He was never willing to help me improve my grades or help me with questions I had. If you want to fail a class, and have a teacher who doesnt care, this is the class for you to take! Have fun.
His lectures are amazing, he's extremely intelligent and knowledgeable on all things history. Great personality, engaging, and funny. The tests aren't hard just make sure you study up on the ID's. I don't understand all the negative comments, probably from kids bitter they had to actually attend class and learn. Thanks, B. Little!
He is a very tough grader on the test. You never know what to actually study for on test. He gives you ID's to study, which is about half of the test, but he doesn't give you any other ideas about what will be on the test. His lectures are kind of all over the place & don't flow. I will never take a class from him again.
Prof. Little is an awesome guy. He has a lot of great incite and really does his best to make his lectures interesting and humorous. If you're okay with showing up to class, taking notes, and studying for the tests, Professor Little is great.
Professor Little has now joined my list of professors at Weber State who don't care about anything except their standing in their professional community. He grades papers like an English teacher, and not on how much history you know. I had points taken away for my writing style. He never does anything besides lectures in class, and it is so boring.
I really enjoyed this class. Professor Little is funny and makes History interesting and enjoyable.
This class is a living nightmare. The problem wasn't so much the professor, but how he calculated grades. Your ENTIRE grade is based off of 4 exams, no homework. The exams were pretty difficult and consisted of essay questions. This professor made it very unclear of what his expectations were, making it nearly impossible to pass this class.
Professor Little is passionate about military history and as such can get off track when lecturing. He also tends to go beyond class time which can be annoying. Grade is based off of 2 tests and 2 papers which he grades fairly. Lots of work for a class I wanted to take for fun. Would not recommend for non History majors.
I was in his honors 4920 class on WWI and it was awesome. Very interesting, he is passionate and very knowledgeable about the subject. It is not an easy A, you have to work for it, but you will learn a lot and come away feeling good about the class. He lectures a lot but I found the lectures very interesting. Also lots of reading. Great class.
I absolutely loved Professor Little. He was very knowledgeable in every subject and incredible engaging in his lectures. I would definitely want to take another class with him.
Professor Little is an extremely good teacher and is willing to work with his students. As long as you pay attention in class and take notes you'll do fine. We had a short paper and little book to read and that was our only homework for the whole semester. I recommend taking this class from him.
Amazing professor! Need to take tons of note and do a bit of reading. need to study for exams! But all together a great class!
Prof. Little's lectures are always enticing. He covers American history in a way that is not boring. He constantly shatters common beliefs on historical topics. There are four tests and a 500 word essay. He gives you half of the test questions making them nearly impossible to fail. His class requires a bit of studying but it is definitely worth it.
His lectures were so engaging. Makes history fun to learn. I did not use the textbook but do read the other material he requires. The class is based off tests and a paper but if you go to class and take good notes it is nearly impossible to fail. I thought it was a pretty easy class despite the studying you have to do.
I learned so much from this class and it was for sure the best history class and teacher I have ever had. I would take him again for sure!
Little is very skilled, and he is a respectful, fun professor. He does, however, grade fairly hard. I can usually get As without very much effort, and I put more effort than usual into his class. You cannot fake your way through this course, but you can do well if you work hard. Graded on writing assignments and one presentation.
Incredibly nice and caring guy. His lack of engagement with the students during lectures, useless slide presentations, and painfully heavy tests(for non essay writers like me) sucked. His 'death by lecture' method was very hard for me to follow. I felt like the class material was presented very poorly. But if you can pull notes out of thin air...
Professor Little puts a lot of effort into his lectures. Its very lecture heavy, but its very clear what will be included on tests and what you will be graded on. Hes very easy to listen to and the lectures are well structured. When classes went online due to Covid, he recorded quality lectures and updated students regularly about test material.
His lectures are boring and impossible to take notes on. If you fall behind he asks you to drop the class, rather than helping you. He will call you out in front of the whole class over anything you do wrong. And his tests are never on the lectures. Rather the not required book.
VERY lecture heavy, which can be difficult to follow. His tests are the whole grade in the class and they are a lot to handle. He makes it clear what terms you should study but its specificity was difficult to retain. I actually didn't much care for him initially but after my grades took a turn for the worse he was willing to offer advice to pass.
I don't love history, and this made me hate it even worse. We pretty much just sat there and listened to him go on and on about stuff that I didn't really understand. He expects us to already know a lot about history. Due to covid, I finished this class online and he was very helpful. He offered extra credit and put in lots of work for online.
Very lecture heavy
He teaches History as stories with obvious love and passion. His expectations are clear and there are no surprises. The tests are based on IDs. If you pay attention, take notes, he even emphasizes important IDs! Go home, beef up, and write out your IDs then study those hard! You will excel! I loved his class so much that I changed my degree!
absolutely pointless class but the professor makes up for it one of the best teachers I have had but man this class is entirely pointless
I loved Prof. Little's passion for history! His lectures are very animated and visual. Most of the assignments are essays; he is a pretty harsh grader, so beware of that. We had two novels we read and wrote essays on, and I enjoyed those. I wish we had a little more interaction during discussions; however I still learned a lot from attending class.
the class was recorded, so you were fine to skip w/o missing info. Every assignment is a paragraph essay too. At first I really liked him but he is a very picky grader. He docked points on one of my homework assignments for sentence flow? If you write like what he's looking for you'll be fine though. does provide ExCr opportunities which is nice
Professor gives really great lectures and is very passionate although it is easy to daydream during them. No test, just a few assignments that are a paragraph each. Hard grader, he does give feeback and it helps with future assignments. Kind of a pointless class but easy for the credit needed.
Professor Little knows what he's talking about! He has a passion for history and speaks engagingly when giving lectures. Yes, the class is lecture-heavy, but gives important information for his assignments. It's typically one assignment a week, but he's a tough grader. He gives great feedback and if you did well, he'll make sure you know!
The success of a History class is heavily influenced by the professors ability to teach history in a way that doesn't make you want to sleep. Doctor Little does a fantastic job in making his class interesting and humorous. I never dreaded going to his class. The tests are difficult, but as long as you pay attention in class, it is very manageable.
Professor Little was a fantastic teacher who was very willing to work with students and help them improve their grades. He was very patient with me when I had to miss class several times. He posts videos of the lecture to help with study or those who missed that day.
Professor Little was great, he is a tough grader and expects a lot from you. He is passionate and funny bit sometimes his lectures go off course. He has a great perspective on history and lets you form your own opinions. He also cares a lot and will respond to your essay of 250 words with 250 words!!
His class is lecture heavy and hard to follow. All of the power points are mostly photos and articles on canvas with no information.Your grade only relies on exams and a paper at the end of the semester, there is a chapter book you use halfway through but its not incorporated. you do get extra credit opportunities but it's not enough.
His lectures are long and compiled of fillers, but recorded. In his weekly assignments, he will ask you a specific question and even though you answered just that, he docks you points for not accessing the relationships and social aspects of the readings. If there were a more clear outline or concise rubric of his grading I would have no problem.
Professor Little has been my favorite history professor so far. He is lecture heavy, but he makes the lectures fun to listen to as he doesn't just read off the slides, but goes in depth on the topic. He records the lectures so attendance was not mandatory as well as he was super understanding of my disability accommodations.
He is a little goofy but fun. I have taken a few classes with him and will take a few more. His classes are not hard, he really cares and wants to see his students improve. I will say though, you will write a lot. The class is basically all essays.
He is a very tough grader. The things he docks points on do not really align with the prompt for the assignment. It seems that he grades more favorably for students who have similar opinions to him. The lectures feel like a waste of time because he gets so off task.
The class was a breeze, mainly because the exams were easy and made up around 75% of the grade. I promise you will get the grade you want if you attend every lecture or watch the lecture videos. EC is passed for attendance and seminars throughout the semester. There is a book you will be examining, but the? are easy, like who is the main character?
Professor little grades so harshly that I'm pretty sure he just cannot give someone a 100%. I emailed him after he graded my final asking if there was any way I could bump up my grade 1.5% to pass the class as it is a core class. He never got back to me about it and now I'm probably going to have to take the class again.
He was a tough grader and expected a lot. He rarely gives full points on exams/assignments.
I really enjoy Professor Little's lectures, he makes them fun and interesting. You can tell he's super passionate about the topic he's teaching. There is a lot of writing in this class, and reading as well, but while he says attendance is mandatory, he provides enough information on Canvas to not be stressed about attending every single day.
I will say that professor little is a very rough teacher. It is the second week of the semester and he has not started talking about what we should be learning. He does not explain assignments what so ever. Very weird guy overall.
each class he writes topics on the board to go over and we never get through all of them, ever. sometimes we don't even touch the first topic. He does give extra credit work though, which is nice I guess. a majority of your grade comes from the 4 tests throughout the semester, so if you're a bad test taker (like me) you will probably struggle.
The exams are a bit difficult because they are 30 multiple choice questions, then five paragraph-length written questions. However, he was very receptive to our feedback and concerns, and would make study guides for us and exam extensions. He can get a little sidetracked, but overall a good guy with a fairly easy class.
I have had Prof. Little several times and I love him! He is very passionate about his subject and will talk the entire class, but he makes it fun. I loved his assignments too because he gave us primary sources to read and reflect on which felt applicable to me. He does grade critically but I felt it made me a better writer as a result
He knew what he was talking about but for his lectures 60% of the time it was good and learned a lot but the other 40% it was just wacky stuff that did not matter and just talked about stuff that didn't relate to history at all. Very little homework it is exam heavy with 4 exams that require a good amount of studying.
