Mr. Dougherty was a great math professor. I was in the Intro Algebra class. He moved at a reasonable and made sure everyone understood the material. He replies promptly to e-mails. If you have questions/do not understand something, he doesn't hesitate to help you. Lots of easy homework is given so you have opportunities to make up points if needed

If you ask him questions he is always willing to answer them. His teaching style is very quick and but if you read the book you can usually keep up. Don't miss a class. As long as you follow and practice you can do fine.

I really liked him for basic algebra, but Stat II was completely different, he taught us alot of calculator functions instead of formulas, it might sound easy but if got confusing. He is a very nice teacher, that is more than willing to help students, if you ask if too, he will clarify anything.

Excellent teacher for MAT 131. He is easygoing and provides homework assignments that prepare you for tests. He is clear and straightforward. It is a good thing that he teaches calculator functions instead of long-winded formulas because it's more efficient. I also appreciated that he didn't use z score tables from the back of the book, thank god

Took Stat 1 in person with him, got a 97% without studying. Just pay attention in class and don't play on your phone like the chick next to me.

I took his Math App. class in the summer for a gen Ed requirement. Mr. Dougherty is an excellent teacher. explains concepts in an easy to understand way, and his teaching style is organized and not hard at all to follow. very flexible about extended time onmaking up tests and turning in late assignments. Best math class I've ever taken.

One of the best teachers I've had thus far. Very engaging and makes the subject easy to understand. The class itself isn't easy, but he'll do everything in his power to help you pass (GO TO THE MATH LAB). If you show up to every class, do the hw, and study, there's no reason you shouldn't get an A or B.

Dougherty is an amazing professor. He has powerpoints for every class and makes sure he posts them right after class on blackboard. The examples he gives on the slides are very clear when discussing specific concepts. Homework is optional. The only grades are the 6 tests(3 in class & 3 take home) and the final. Wish he taught at other colleges.

Brandon is a good professor to take for this class, especially online. The class consisted of 9 quizzes, 2 tests, and a paper mid term and final in the testing center. There are video lectures, and powerpoints to help you learn. The textbook is not the best but is needed. He always responds to emails and is more than fair with grading. I recommend.

He is an amazing professor. He is very easy to understand and actually answers any questions you have. You have 6 test in total 3 in class and 3 take home. If you can do the study guide then the test should be easy because they are the same. He even let us use a notecard on the final exam.

The information provided in the course was solid. Great feedback on HW and tests. However, the response I received first email I sent left a bad taste in my mouth. I felt like my question was glazed over and the answer really didn't answer any questions. Going forward I just used khan academy or YouTube to answer questions.

Great class. The material is completely covered in the lecture and the lecture is done with the smartboard with the materials posted online so you don't need to take heavy notes. That said, I still recommend reading the textbook as well as doing some of the practice assignments to prepare for the tests.

Great professor. Makes learning math fun. Stat is tough but he was very helpful. He gave you points if you did math steps correctly even if you didnt end up with the right answer. He wants students to succeed.

This guy doesn't get any more straight-forward than it gets. He's pretty boring, but his homework's and "test reviews" are identical to the actual exams. He's always willing to help on homework and exams. Unless you really don't make an effort or pay attention, this is an easy A.

He was an Amazing professor and really chill. A lot of lectures but he doesnt just talk to the board, he explains everything so clearly and makes sure everyone understands. Before an exam he gives an almost identical review with answers before so you know what the test will look like. An easy A if you do all the homework, and pay attention.

I H A T E math but he made it seem like I have been learning math for years. Would take another math class with him in a heartbeat. If you are not gifted with amazing math capabilities, take his class! If you plan on taking his class though, register as soon as possible because his classes fill up quickly.

I took him for an online class and in person. Hes a great teacher, lets you use notecards on tests and quizzes. he always seems to have his phone on him and is aware of student emails because he gets back to you so fast!!!!

Guys a great professor. He clearly understands what he is teaching and ensures you will understand it too. All of his notes are posted online at the end of the day. Attendance isn't mandatory but if you don't show up you probably won't understand what you are doing. 3 Exams and 3 take home tests for grades with a final. Just show up and try

The class is quite boring & he does take awhile to go over the homework. Overall, he does not care much if you go on your laptop or go on your phone. This is a heavy lecture class. There are assignments along with a couple of chapter tests. He is not a bad guy & he's pretty chill. However, his powerpoints will help you if you did pay attention.

One of the best math professors at Montco took his mat 130 and mat 140 class. He gives out strong class notes that are very useful for test practice and problem sets. 5 tests and 8 problem sets and a final (no midterm). Would recommend for any math class!

MyOpenMath used for everything, if you explained your work he always tried to give you points back even if you asked him about every question. Final was a different format from homework & quizzes, think I would have done better on it if the questions were worded like MyOpenMath which would be the only thing I wish was kept constant. Overall,great.

Prof Brandon makes the lesson very easy and clear. He would give you a real life demonstration to make the lesson understandable. I like the way he teach. If you pay attention and do not miss his class you will have no problem with test( yeah, the test have tricky questions that's what proves you understand the topic).

Super nice and caring professor, really wants his students to succeed. Only graded by 8 homeworks, 5 tests, and the final. You get to bring a notecard (more like a whole piece of paper) for tests full of whatever you need to know. I suck at math though so i had to drop out, however if you arent an idiot like me he is the perfect professor to take.

Professor Brandon has made math understandable and actually enjoyable. He allows you to have notes during the exams and is probably the most easy going professor I've ever had. If you have trouble with math, I highly recommend taking his classes.

Take him. You will love him and will do well in his class. He not only gives 8 easy graded Homeworks 20%, but he allows us to use a whole sheet of notes for the 5 test 12% each. Plus, he gives you hints on every exam so you wouldn't fail his exams. Again take hm. You will not regret it.

I would take him again I'm just awful at Math, that is why I didn't do so well. There's a good amount of time to do homework, quizzes and tests. Super nice professor and would definitely take again.

Overall great class, sometimes the lectures did not help with hw. The final was very hard felt that it was not like previous quizzes/ hw.

I took Professor Dougherty for Probability and Statistics online. (I am not a good math student) I do feel that he answered my emails quickly and provided a step by step approach for each problem. Being said, he uses open math. Which has very little instruction, does not post lectures either. So your only learning resource is emailing him.

Take him. Your grade will thank you.

I hate math, but this professor was really helpful. He taught in a meaningful way that showed how math was applicable to real life. He helps you with whatever you need and is just a really kind guy. Take him and you won't regret it. If you don't like math going into it don't expect a change, but this teacher makes the process much better.

I wish he posted better videos because there weren't any lectures and it's hard to learn from just the slides. All in all, good but difficult class. Tests needed to upload work which was time-consuming.

Amazing teacher, he listened to me and actually encouraged us to contest his gradings. He told us if we thought we did something right to tell him and I actually got a fraction of my points back on the final because while I used the wrong formula, I actually did the work correctly. Overall, if you show your work and be respectful, you'll succeed.

For someone who struggled with math for most of my life, I was very nervous to take Professor Dougherty's class. From the jump I was very comfortable in his class. Only a few assignments, no opportunities for Extra Credit, but honestly in this class you shouldn't have any problem getting an A or higher. Without a doubt I would take his class again

He is a great professor! Very laid-back and extremely easy to reach out of class. He made the material easy to understand (this coming from someone who struggles deeply with math) and I feel confident going into the (open-note) final. However, you MUST come to the lectures. His posted class notes are basically useless for review purposes.

I took finite math online over the summer and I was very nervous about it since MyOpenMath was all new to me. I got used to it pretty quick though. Doing the practice questions helped a lot because the videos taught me so much, the powerpoint lectures are almost useless. The problem sets are time consuming and prepare for the tests. Put in effort!

I would take every math class possible with this Professor. Math is hard work no matter what. You won't succeed without putting in the time, but he truly cares and wants you to succeed. His lectures are well planned and easy to follow. He wants to hear your questions and gives back credit where deserved. Highly Recommend!

Professor Dougherty was great! He responded to emails very quickly, and if you got something simple wrong on a test or if you felt like you deserved those points back, as long as you would explain it to him via email, he would give you points back. The class in general was a bit hard because probability and statistics in general is a hard topic.

This teacher is very nice and genuinely cares about your education and learning outcomes. He's available almost any day to ask questions and take the extra step to help you with your learning outcomes. I'm bad at math which is why I got this grade but I think he's still a good teacher.

Prof. Dougherty was a great teacher! As long as you show up to class and do the optional practice questions between classes, you will do well. He is always willing to answer questions and is clear with his grading criteria. There are 4 tests, 8 graded homework assignments, and a final. I definitely recommend him!

I absolutely hate math & I passed with an A- , My open math can be problematic sometimes but just try the practice problems first to double check your answers. He gives lots of resources, PAY ATTENTION TO HW EXAMPLES, they are usually verbatim on the exams. also not proctored..

The most nonchalant professor.

Haven't finished my class yet, but I'm taking a 7-week stats course and it's easy. Prof even provided for a week long Thanksgiving break, I am so impressed! Probably could finish this class in 5 weeks if I wanted to. There aren't lectures but YT videos, make use of Brainfuse, quizzes every chapter, haven't taken final yet but it's heavily weighted.

Mr.Dougherty was a good teacher and taught easily and clearly to understand. His courses are well-organized and he will answer any questions you have with good feedback. The test reviews are always helpful making it easier to succeed. I'd take him as a professor again!

This professor has been amazing I have had him for two classes now and it's been my favorite class each time! He is very easy to email and responds fast about any questions about grades/course material I would say he is a very fair and respected professor definitely recommend his class all math can be difficult at points but overall 10/10.

Brandon is a wonderful guy, he teaches with such care, if you don't pay attention, you're going to lose focus and fall into a ditch but he is always willing to help if you just ask. I've never been good at math but he makes it very easy to understand. Wonderful guy!

Great professor! The course is easy and lets you work at your own pace. He posts frequent Canvas announcements that keep you on track, which is super helpful. A smooth and stress-free online class.

Very good professor. Math is very hard for me, but I was finally able to understand everything and nailed it. The only downside for me was that I felt like I needed more time on tests, but the class was great. I even signed up for another class with this professor.
