Best TA I have ever had! Very laid back, but I still learned the material. He helped ease the requirements a lot from how difficult the professor made them. Take this EE Lab I with Brandon if you get a choice!
Belittles your efforts, makes fun of students in front of other students, insults other professors behind their backs, knows the material but can not teach it, nice guy outside of the classroom, other GTAs teach you and realize that this stuff just isn't something you get over night and they grade much more reasonable. HE DOES NOT GRADE FAIR.
Decent teacher. He's young, so he doesn't have the teaching experience that the older prof.s have. That said, he was effective at communicating his expectations and the material we needed to learn, and the tests were appropriately hard. Could make his teaching more efficient by thoroughly planning out class time. Nice guy. Reads these comments. ;)
Brandon is seriously one of the best TAs I've ever had. He clearly explains what the requirements are for each lab, readily answers any questions, and grades the lab memos very promptly. If you somehow get a choice (which is probably unlikely but hey, you never know) regarding your TA for ELEC 2110, definitely try to get him!
Brandon is hands down the best TA I've had at Auburn. Some may say he's unfair with grades, but it realy just comes down to if you did what was asked in the lab. Don't just try to bs the material; work through the lab, ask questions, and hand in the lab report that isn't a hot mess. Take the time to do the work and you'll get a fair grade.
He's good at teaching. Very good. But his class is hard, especially since you only take it as a non-electrical major. Quizzes every Friday, but they usually aren't too difficult. DO THE HOMEWORK, AND WATCH THE SYLLABUS VIDEOS. This is one of the few classes where working hard outside of class is REALLY necessary.
Great teacher, the class is difficult but rewarding. Attendance is a must to do well in this class.
Good teacher and writes great notes. The difficulty level is high and the depth of the material is more than thought was necessary. Would have received a 5 for helpfulness but he was a bit hard to find time to meet with.
Very difficult class to begin with, but he conveyed the material very well. If you show up to all the lectures and do the homework he gives you, the tests are not too bad. Made the material very interesting with real world connections.
The class is a bit challenging but you learn what you need to. Show up to class, take the quizzes, and do the homework. He's pretty good at giving review sessions if you ask and go to his office if you need help. The first test is hard but if you keep showing up you'll do fine.
Great notes, hard homework, and hard tests. You can't miss Friday classes because that's when he gives quizzes. Attendance isn't required, but if you want to pass you need to be there to get the notes. Overall great teacher. He'll try to act mean, he's not though.
Brandon is an amazing teacher. He explains all the material extremely well. His test are hard compared to the test given by other teachers. He always finds a way to tweak the circuit, so that figuring out the easiest way to solve the problem is hard. His grading scale is very student friendly, and he focuses on useful real world concepts.
I found personally his off tangents on different subjects throughout the class leads to a better insight to what an actual engineer can do and spikes a lot of interest in the whole field of science.
Brandon isn't an easy teacher, but I would definitely recommend him if you really want to learn the material covered in the class. He is very personable and helpful if you have any questions about anything in the class. He also doesn't teach you anything that you don't need to know. Overall, a very good teacher.
Brandon is a great teacher. Takes difficult concepts and presents them in an understandable way, even with no prior knowledge. Tests are difficult but fair. Going to class and doing your homework is a must, but helps a lot on tests.
Helpful teacher but the class itself is hard. provides homeowork that is relevant to the tests and using the syllabus videos with greatly help you on your tests
He's a tough teacher and he expects a good bit of effort from you to do well. Overall, he is fair but difficult. The class doesn't come easy to non EE majors but he does a good, if not great job at explaining the material clearly.
I would love to write a bad review for Brandon, but truthfully I've learned a lot in his class. You have to work hard for results. He's a bit cocky at times but understands the material well
Good teacher. He will help as long as you put forth the effort. His weekly quizzes are pretty tough. I would imagine it would be easier during a spring or fall semester, as compared to the summer, like the majority of classes. Fair grader and willing to work with you if you feel like you were correct.
Before taking this class I had almost no grasp on the concept of electricity. Brandon changed that. He is very clear and explains it in a way that non-electrical majors can understand. His homework was difficult but prepared me very well for his tests. Be wary of the quizzes though, they can definitely make or break your grade.
Very Helpful and knowledgeable teacher. His test are challenging but if you work the homework and take accurate notes, the test aren't that bad. He doesn't follow the book, so coming to class is somewhat mandatory even though he doesn't take attendance.
He doesn't use the book, so attendance is a must to do well. He's very helpful and easy to approach. The way the class is set up and how he presents the material is great. If other engineering professors took on this style of teaching, things would go better for everyone.
Great teacher with challenging test. Fun class to be in. If you werent electrically minded before, he'll definitely get you interested.
Tough class but a really good teacher. Attendance isn't mandatory, but he doesn't use the book so it's best to be there to take notes. Don't get behind before the first test or else you could end up behind for the whole class. Enjoyed the off-topic conversations in class because they show how the material applies in the field.
Very good teacher. Had no interest in this before the class, but he does a good job of explaining real life situations that the topics are used. Cool guy outside of class and during office hours. If you have any type of question go see him during office hours, he's very helpful.
This class was difficult but Brandon is a great instructor. The textbook was not used so attendance is strongly recommended. Take this class if you care more about learning than your grades. He keeps class interesting with insights into how the material applies to the real world.
Eidson is incredibly passionate about this stuff but he's going to make you work for every single point you get. Do not expect to pass by just coming to class and if you're stupid enough not to attend a class, plan on being confused for at least a month. Do the homework over and over and the tests are manageable.
He is a very good professor. He is passionate about teaching and cares for the students. The class is not easy, but going into the tests you know exactly what to expect (from the hwk and notes). He can get sidetracked talking about green energy or theology stuff, which is pretty interesting. Brandon, please give us worked out solutions to the hwks
There is a quiz every week (easy IF you understand the CONCEPTS from the notes) and you want to be in class to take notes or you will be lost. Don't buy the textbook, you won't use it. Homework can be difficult. Tests are a difficulty level above the homework. Brandon is a good instructor, and will apply the concepts to real world applications.
The class isn't too bad if you take notes and attend class, but if you do not come then you will be completely confused. His office hours are extremely helpful. Do the homework to pass the quizzes or you will fail all of them. I wish he would've given worked out homework solutions so I knew that I was working the problem out correctly.
Extremely fair, practical, and engaging.
Eidson is a great teacher but this semester the test seemed to be more conceptual instead of practicing over the homework problems over and over. Understand the concepts. the weekly quizzes suck, need to drop more than one.
For anyone that has to take fundamentals of electrical, this is the professor you want to have. Brandon explains well and provides good examples. HW's are harder than the tests, get a tutor and go to his office for help understanding. The key is to understand the concepts, not just individual HW problems. Go to class, take good notes, get a tutor.
Tough but very good teacher, explains concepts well for non-electrical people. It's challenging but you'll learn it well and he's a great guy. Very helpful. Would definitely take him again.
This was a very hard class, but I enjoyed it because of the way Brandon taught. The material was presented in a very direct way making understanding a simple as possible. I cold tell that Brandon was extremely passionate about his work and genuinely cared if we were effectively learning the material. I would definitely take him for a different clas
Brandon lectures the way I would imagine Shawn from Boy Meets World teaching a class if he grew up to become a great teacher. He's very down to earth, and he empathizes very well with those to whom it doesn't come naturally without boring those to whom it does. He cares about his students and about perfecting his craft as an instructor.
Brandon is a great professor. His lectures are engaging and he's really good at explaining exactly what you need to know from the material. His tests aren't easy, but he gives lots of homework throughout the semester, and if you can do the homework, the tests are doable. I loved his class, and I would definitely recommend taking him!
Going into it as someone not particularly interested in EE, I thought I would hate this class, especially because of the horror stories I'd heard from others. To my great surprise, I ended up almost enjoying this class. Brandon was great at clearly explaining all the concepts through examples, and his blunt, opinionated style kept it interesting.
Great teacher. If you go to class, pay attention, and do the homework- you'll do fine. Weekly quizzes, Three tests, and a final. Has two grading scales- one puts large weight on your three exams and small weight on your final and the other does the opposite. This can help you out in the end. Definitely take this class.
Great teacher. He starts from the beginning and walks you through everything. Weekly quizzes, three minutes max, two lowest get dropped at the end. Three tests, difficultly depends on how good you've been keeping up on the homework. The homework takes some time, keep on top of it. Total Bro though, he makes you feel welcome .
very helpful with office hours. His tests are difficult but doable, but the partial credit can hurt at times. He has a dual grading system for final grades that is fantastic, allows for either tests or finals to take the brunt of your grade. Great teacher, but can be full of himself. Id give him a B- overall
I had Brandon for ELEC 3810 and I enjoyed his class for the most part. I am however taking it again because I did poorly in the end (completely my fault). The class seemed to start slow which allowed me to be kind of lazy. You MUST keep up with doing the homework to survive the exams. Brandon is a funny guy and I would recommend taking him.
Great professor, really tries to make everything easy to understand. Lectures are hilarious, very entertaining. Would definitely take his class again. If you don't do the homework, you won't pass, at all. Tests are hard but very fair. Great guy
Great teacher. Tests aren't hard if you go to class and do ALL of the homework. Would take him again
The homework and class attendance is optional, but DO IT. He is very clear in what he expects and you'll be tested over. Tests are more conceptual in nature than regurgitating lectured material, so do the homework by yourself and know how you got the answer. Brandon is available if you're stuck. Loved the Dual grading system. Best for ELEC3810.
This class has worried me more than any other I have ever taken. The material is difficult, but Brandon teaches it as well as I could have hoped and provides enough examples to give you a decent understanding. If you don't try in this class, you will fail.
Brandon is very clear in what you are expected to learn. He gives plenty of homework and it's harder than the tests so working the homework should prepare you. Attendance isn't mandatory, but it won't be easy to do well if you don't go and he may even hint at something that will be on the test.
Very laid back and really tries to put things in easy terms for us non-electrical engineers. The tests are hard if you don't do the homework. Weekly quizzes over that week's material, seem like they would be easy but they kill your grade if you neglect them. Fair grading for the most part. Definitely the best professor for the course
You're going to learn a lot, but the tests are very difficult. Be ready to make a grade lower than you're used to. Quizzes are reasonable and important so be sure to study weekly. Great with office hours, wants you to learn, but will make you earn your grade and then some. If you have to take this class though, take Brandon.
Lectures were very helpful. Quizzes given every week.
DON'T GET BEHIND ON THE HOMEWORK. Otherwise, great class.
Its a tough class, don't get behind and go to class. Doesn't use the text for class but its a good idea for more examples. Teaching is clear, lectures aren't miserable, but he could use a few more examples.
Probably the best Fundamentals of EE professor at Auburn. He knows his stuff and teaches the way he learned it- Simply, and without any complicated math. Weekly quizzes cover one major topic from the noteshomework. Tests cover everything. YOU MUST DO THE HOMEWORK. YOU MUST GO TO CLASS.
Brandon was a great teacher, and was really helpful in his office hours outside of class. Although the subject material was difficult, it was always presented in a way that was fair on exams, and weekly quizzes were given to prevent students from falling behind. With that in mind, don't expect to do well in this class unless you do homework.
Great teacher. Tests are tough and really test concepts. Weekly quizzes help me keep up with the homework, which you MUST keep up with to pass. He does everything he can to help if you don't understand the material. It's a tough subject, so I'm glad my teacher really cares about the material and if we learn it.
I thoroughly enjoyed his class. I took this class with another professor and failed my first year at Auburn. I took this with Mr. Eidson my second go around. I preformed better this time. Also, understood the material better than ever. I recommend him for anyone who needs help. He is very helpful both within and outside of class.
Loved this class. Went in with no prior electrical experience and I'm going into the final with an A. Gives two different grading scales where the final is worth a lot, or not a lot. Leaves a lot of room for helping raise your grade. Great teacher, really cares about the material and the students.
Brandon is a great teacher. He understands that most (if not all) of his students are not Electrical Engineers, so he doesn't teach the class like they are. He tries to expose you to the fundamentals at a deep level, and then a lot of material on a very conceptual level. If you go to class and stay on top of the homework, you should do well.
Tests are difficult, but fair. Very good at explaining concepts clearly. Lectures are funny and keep your attention. If you have to take an electrical class, take Brandon if you can.
I worked really hard, did all of the homework, and I'm about to walk out of the class with an A. It's not easy by any means but if you actually do the homework and study, an A is very achievable.
Brandon was super approachable in and outside of class. He wants you to do well, but does not hand out easy grades. He makes sure that you grasp vital concepts by encouraging questions. I would recommend to people who are willing to work.
Great teacher. The class covers difficult material but Brandon does a good job explaining it and has extensive examples. Go to class, do the homework, understand the quizzes and the tests will come naturally.
Really great guy who wants you to do well and understand the material. Attendance and homework are optional, but both are mandatory if you want to do well. Come to class and do all of the homework and you'll be fine.
Brandon is a great professor. The class builds pretty fast in the semester so skipping is useless. The book also sucks so lectures are the main way to pass. Very helpful instructor! He is rational.
Good teacher. Will hold your attention. Helpful if you ask for it. Wish he gave more examples. Go to class and do the homework.
His lectures are easy to follow and he gives a lot of in class examples. He's flexible about making himself available for office hours. I liked that he used mechanical analogies to explain some of the electrical stuff, as well as how he made the information relevant by giving us real world application examples. KEEP UP W HOMEWORK & ATTEND CLASS!!
First things first, if you are looking for a class that is easy with no work, get out of engineering. Fundamentals is a tough class. Brandon is a really good lecturer, he keeps the class interesting and truly wants his students to learn. He expects you to know the material, period. He is always willing to help but he can come on a little strong.
Brandon is probably the best instructor I've had at AU. He teaches a difficult course, but his passion for the material and his desire to see his students succeed make it bearable. This class has been FAR from easy, but doing the homework in office hours was my key to success. This class required a lot of my time, so be careful about scheduling it.
Good class. I learned a lot. The test grading can be kinda iffy in part. But you can write up a regrade request for a start. Brandon can be kinda arrogant, but he means well bless his heart. His claim is people say this because he is smart. Office hours keep you outta the dark. Expect witty, sarcastic responses but don't take it to heart.
Great teacher. This is a tough class. Brandon is really helpful and wants everyone to succeed. But he makes sure you won't succeed unless you learn the material
Lots of homework, but it's not for a grade. Weekly quizzes cover the homework material, though. Tries to have lots of office hours and be available, but sometimes wants to meet off campus -which is annoying. Attendance option, but you really need to go to class and pay attention.
Almost looks like a college kid. Tough teacher, if you don't go to class or keep up with homework, you'll be in trouble. Very helpful though and really wants you to do well, but he wont give you a grade you didn't work hard for. Doesn't scale or curve grades but getting a B in here is reasonable. No textbook, entire class is taught from notes.
Yes, having to take EE stinks, and yes, the class isn't easy. That being said, Eidson is an incredible professor who does his best to make this class awesome. He is well-prepared for his seriously good lectures, which he focuses on developing your understanding. Few professors actually do this. He cares. Easily in my top 5 favorite professors.
Class attendance is required if you want to keep up with the material. Watch out for the 2nd test, he isn't kidding when he says folks nearly fail it who got A's on the first exam.
Great teacher and GO TO OFFICE HOURS. He will help you. The material itself is so so hard, yet he teaches it well and he can tell when you are making an effort. I am fighting to pass this class but not because of his teaching style, this stuff is just tough. Quizzes every week keep you accountable. Sidenote: He is a cool guy and very very wise.
Edison is a really good teacher. Very cool person. However, his tests are ridiculously hard. Take him for sure, but be ready to fail the tests. You will have to work really hard to pass this class.
Cool guy, good teacher. Tests are pretty difficult. Brandon, if you're reading this, please give another attendance quiz, thanks
He is a very good teacher, he expects his students to work hard though. There are a lot of homeworks through out the semester and his tests are pretty difficult. Doing well on the weekly quizzes is critical to getting a good grade in the class. Go to class and take notes because he does not use a text book. He also has some awesome hair.
I have him for Fundamentals of Electrical Engineering and he is very good at explaining the concepts in a way that's easy to understand. The worst thing about the class is by far the amount of time on the tests, because with the amount of problems he gives there is very little time to figure anything out so you had better know what you're doing.
Difficulty: TestQuizzesHWclass Examples. Great, fast paced professor. Put your phone up and take his word as gospel. Doing every HW is necessary in order to make a decent grade in this class and to understand the material. Must put in a lot of time to this class. His class examples are not helpful for the HW but are necessary evils for concepts
The class is difficult no matter what professor you take. Brandon is very thorough and clear with his teaching and his expectations. If you go to class everyday and do the homework, there is no reason you shouldn't get an A or B. His test are not easy but you can make an A if you try. Brandon is a good teacher that invests in his students.
Great teacher. He is so insightful with his explanations of materials and life. He gives you ample warnings about what he expects. There is never a dull moment in his class. He is one of my favorite professors ive had and have probably learned so much more than another teacher could have done!
Brandon is a great teacher who really wants to help you learn the material. He is also very knowledgeable in real life applications of the material.
Is a very smart professor, unfortunately he knows it. In lectures he comes off as pretty arrogant. In his office he is actually pretty cool and is willing to help no matter your understanding of the material, or lack there of.
good teacher. enjoy teaching style because of no book. would take again if I failed so that says alot.
He is a very good teacher, good at explaining the material thoroughly. Examples in class and homeworks help prepare for the tests. Tests are challenging- you really have to know what you're doing because there are some tricks on there. Can be a difficult class, but is doable and he is fair. Make sure you keep the pace and do well on the quizzes.
Eidson is a good teacher. He knows his stuff. He is very good at explanations and gives good homework to go along with his notes. The tests are very difficult and doable if you really get your stuff but still extremely hard. The worst thing is if you compare his tests and examples to actual electrical engineering, they are drawn harder on purpose.
Good teacher. Lectures are not required but if you don't go to class it'll be hard to pass. There is a quiz every week. Would be beneficial if there was a link to how to work the hw problems out because there are times that I got stuck and could not move on with any of the other hw. Grading scale is very helpful! You can choose 9% or 45% final
Eidson is one of the smartest and most realistic guys in engineering. He knows the material and will make sure you understand it, not just memorize it. He makes you work for your grade but you have to understand the homework in order to do well. His tests are fair and the only issues you will have will be time. Would take him again for sure.
Tough class. Has interesting off-topic discussions. Homework is rather short but can be challenging.
This class is not as hard as people make it out to be but it is also not easy. He gives a lot of homework. Try to do each homework assignment before the next lecture or you will fall behind fast. The homework took me a long time but I feel like I really learned it. I like how he gives you the answers so you know if you are doing it correctly.
Brandon is a fantastic teacher who really cares about what he is teaching and how you go about learning it. He is very clear and makes the lectures really easy to listen to and understand. He is always willing to answer questions and make time to help you. Do your best to understand the material in the beginning because it builds on itself!
Brandon is a good teacher. He is tough but overall pretty fair. He is very easy to approach after class. His office hours were a bit wonky and didn't really work with my schedule but he still worked with me on any problems I had trouble with. His lectures are pretty engaging and entertaining. I wished he'd work some more of his hw problems in class
Brandon is an awesome teacher who actually enjoys lectures and brings some interesting perspectives. Even though he is young, this guy knows how students learn and does a great job teaching the material. It is important to go to class and if you do/you're willing to put in work, you'll learn the material plus many real world applications. Take him!
Overall good professor. Class is difficult, but if you go to class and do the homework assignments, you should do fine. It would be helpful if there were additional, non-mandatory problems that have solutions provided, andAnn a little bit more organized than an old professors solution videos that do not always line up with the course material.
Brandon is a solid teacher. The class is challenging to say the least, but has quickly become my favorite of the semester. Brandon's arrogance towards the world is ultimately the daily battle, but the main reason the class stays interesting (if you don't enjoy circuits). Weekly quizzes every Friday, but allows you to drop the two lowest. Take him.
Pretty good professor overall. Lectures are interesting, and he explains the material thoroughly. Homework is assigned at least once weekly, and you will need to keep up with it for the weekly quizzes. Miss more than 2 quizzes or tests, and you will receive an FA. It would be nice to have a solution for one problem per homework set.
Dr. Eidson is a very smart man, and his arrogance keeps things interesting. His lectures are clear and he makes sure it is taught in an understandable way. His personal commentary on the world proves to be most interesting. Do the homework, do not get behind. Weekly quizzes. Be prepared to commit a lot of time to this class.
The class material is hard but doable. if you get ahead of the material it becomes much easier but if you fall behind its gets overwhelming. do the homework it makes the difference. i would have liked it if he had given more examples online
Brandon is an amazing lecturer and I have never learned so much in a class that is also equally entertaining. This semester, I think he had issues with designing a test for a 50 minute class, but he has fixed that issue and the tests have been fine if you knew what you are doing. Be careful with your work as his grader sucks.
Brandon is a great lecturer and honestly one of the best teachers I've had at Auburn. Would take him again in a heartbeat. His class is tough but you learn a lot. He is really clear about what he expects in class and his examples help with homework which can sometimes be long and tough. Go to his office hours and he's always super willing to help!
Brandon is pretty straight with his students and expects you to do your work. He provides many avenues to get help with the class. The material is hard in general and he tries to make it as simple as he can. Expect to do all the homework to get a good grade in this class. Gives weekly quizzes that are fairly straightforward.
If you have to take ELEC3810, take Eidson. He explains the beginning material thoroughly and in a very conceptual manner which really helps if this is your first time with circuits. The material builds, so get ahead early. Weekly quizzes and three exams make this class very doable. 10/10 would recommend.
It might seem like he is going very slow in the beginning but that is for students to learn and understand that stuff well. Everything builds on each other so this is great. Also he is always willing to help students who are trying hard. GO TO CLASS!! I had to do little studying for the 2nd and 3rd test because his lectures are that helpful!!
Brandon is a great professor, this is a very tough class but he explains the material very well. The homework is not graded but if you don't do it you wont pass! I would recommend him for this course over any other professor for sure!
Brandon is an excellent professor, the way he can communicate with students and the energy he brings to his lectures rivals that of any professor at AU. Yes, the class is challenging, but he reiterates many times that you need to stay on top of the home-works (and understand them) in order to be successful in this course. 10/10 Would dine again.
Overall, my class experience was good. I definitely learned a lot and was forced to know the material to do well on the tests. My only complaint is that he likes to go off on tangents during which distracts from the topic at hand. Some of his comments were inappropriate but if you look past that then it's a fairly good class.
Pros: Explains things very well! Gives lot of advice on how to pass. Crystal clear about everything. That hair. Cons: Gives very little partial credit. Too many little pit falls in the test that can cascade and turn a B into a F. He isn't trying to trick you, but there are a lot of things that can start a snowball effect.
I dreaded taking this class going into it, but Eidson does a great job of explaining all of the course content and actually cares about helping students pass. This class requires regular studying if you want a good grade, but it's definitely achievable. He's a really smart guy and seriously knows his stuff. I would highly recommend taking him.
Great Teacher. Extremely good at explaining circuits. His tests are tough, but if you do the homework and go to class, you should be fine. Quizzes are every Friday which is a pain, but it keeps you update with the class.
Brandon is an awesome teacher. The class is very difficult, but he presents the material very clearly and his lectures are very entertaining. Do the homework and learn the material and you will do fine in the class. He really makes sure you know the material, but his grading is fair. He also tells cool stories sometimes. Take Brandon's class.
Good at teaching the material. Tests are tough. If you don't work your butt off you won't do well. Has a tendency to go off topic and talk about random things unrelated to class. Comes off a little arrogant, but he knows it. He brought it up in class. Not my favorite professor at Auburn, but I definitely enjoyed the challenge his class presented.
Brandon is a gnarly dude. Super helpful and personable in office hours. Tests are difficult and little partial credit is given. The class is extremely difficult, but he does all he can to help students succeed.
He explains the material clearly and has a few office hour times for you to go get help. If you understand the homework you should be fine for the tests. My favorite class of the semester! And my major isn't electrical!
The tests are relatively easy. He interjects his personal opinions into every lecture. Beware of him getting off topic very quickly and for a very long time.
Excellent teacher, he explains everything really well. The tests are easy if you do the HW on your own. Be able to work the HW without looking at the notes and you'll be fine. The weekly quizzes make you stay on top of the material which makes studying for the test simple. Is also a very interesting guy, his off-topic rants are the best part.
The class is hard as hell but it's definitely not his fault, there's a ton of material he has to teach. He explains the material pretty well and has office hours regularly. Wish he would "assign" more HW or give me example problems though.
Lectures were entertaining. Attendance wasn't mandatory, but there's no possible way for you to pass this class if you don't attend lectures. Normally one or two homework assignments per week, if you stay on top of the homework you shouldn't have much trouble. He uses two ways to calculate your final grade and takes the higher.
Brandon does a very good job teaching. There is a lot of material to cover which makes the class very difficult, but students actually learn a good amount from him.
Great teacher, explains things clearly, and keeps the class entertaining. Would definitely take again.
Excellent professor outside of class. Has the potential to be a little vague during class. DO THE HW. KNOW THE HW.
Tough class but it's doable. If you're not willing to put in the work, you don't belong in engineering. Brandon is a great professor
Test's are short and cover all material pretty difficult class. Work your ass off and you can get a b
I struggled to pass this class. The material is overwhelming and he is very smart but expects perfection. If this class was not required I would never recommend taking this class.
Office hours are the key to success. All homework needs to be worked to have any shot of doing well on exams. He helps in office hours, but there will be many other students there also needing help. He will reply to questions via email. He is willing to help you, but you have to be willing to put forth a lot of extra time & effort to do well.
He is the only reason the class was bearable. He was clear and have homework very exemplary of his tests. Pay attention to the concepts he talks about but doesn't write. They are often key.
Brandon is a great professor that clearly under stands the material and can relay it to the students. He goes off on tangents that are both comical and informative. I would recommend him to any other students taking the class. Answers any questions in class.
Great class, one of the best professors I've had so far. Made what can be a difficult subject easier to understand and
Honestly, a great professor. The material is just unfortunately terrible. However, Brandon holds plenty of office hours, and is willing to help as much as possible. He is able to take tough material and make it easier to understand. I would take him again, but definitely not this class. Do the homework or you won't pass.
If you work hard you can pass the class. Takes a lot of time to understand this material. He sped thru class notes and doesn't go into much detail. I recommend buying the book (which he suggests against).
Great class. Solid professor. Tough but as long as you aren't lazy you'll be fine
This class topic is tough to grasp, so go to the lecture. There should be more examples in class so understanding the material can get easier. Don't by the book. He gives notes and HWs of his own.
If you think you can show up, do half the home work, and study an hour before the test, you will fail. If you take good notes and pay attention in class, do ALL OF THE HOME WORK, and ask questions if you don't understand something you will pass.
The Amish were right electricity is the devil. I have taken this class with Brandon now twice. The course covers a lot of material in a semester and is very difficult. Fall behind and you will fail. If you do the homework completely and study the notes, you should pass. If you think and see things as Brandon does you will do well.
Great teacher, material is difficult at first but if you put time into the homeworks it will start to make sense.
Good choice. Clearly covers course material with enthusiasm. He's young and relates to the class well.
ELEC3810 is just a hard class in general regardless the professor. As long as you come to class and do the homeworks you should do well on the tests.
Made this class bearable
One of my favorite professors I've ever had. the lectures are great, he explains things clearly, he keeps the class engaged, and he is accessible outside of class. Would definitely take again if i had the chance.
Brandon is a good teacher. The material itself is not that hard, but it is not a course to fall behind in. There are weekly quizzes, THEY ARE DESIGNED TO HELP YOU, not to make you suffer. If you stay up to pace you will be fine. Highly recommend taking Brandon for this class
He gives weekly quizzes but if you do the homework you will be fine with the quizzes. If you miss class you will fall behind, but if you show up you shouldn't have much trouble. His office hours are really helpful
He's tight. Good sense of humor. No concrete answers (e.g. "you can do this most of the time, probably, but when *this* happens you can do *this method* probably. But who knows."
This class was exactly how Brandon said it would be. If you put the time in you did well, but if you got behind it was difficult to catch up. He is a good orator and makes the class entertaining and engaging. The grading, and partial credit, is fair. This is a class where putting in time early on pays of loads in the end. sufficiently difficult.
Tough class but good teacher
Not gonna lie, Fund. of Electrical was the hardest class I took in Mechanical Engineering. Brandon makes it less awful. One of the best professors as far as understanding where students are coming from and explaining it in a way you understand. He gives real world examples that really drive the concept home. 10/10 would recommend.
Dr. Eidson is a very good teacher. His class isn't easy, but if you go to class and do the assigned homework you will learn a lot. He is also very approachable outside of class and more than willing to help you. If you can, definitely take him for Fundamentals of Electrical Engineering.
Really funny guy and passionate about the material. I would definitely recommend taking the class over the other professors. This is more for the fundmentals class for MECH and AERO students. I would definitely take him again. His tangents are always interesting from beer to politics.
