He's a really hot teacher and he's nice and funny. This class, however, is not the easiest class. It's very possible to get an "A" but you can't just slack off in this class.

Very cool teacher. He does assign reading assignments, but as long as you do them you get credit. There's about 4 essays, but other than that a fun class.

Brandon is one amazing English teacher! People say that he gives too many assignments and readings, but they make you better writers! I'm honestly thinking about changing my major because of him. He's a life changing teacher, and I would definetly reccomend him to anyone who wants to have a solid understanding in English! Take him!

Take advantage of his office hours, and if you don't like the grade you received on your essay, you can re-do it! There are a million ways he wants you to succeed, so take advantage of it! He's more than happy to help!

I had him for English 100 & 103, and he's amazing. Just do the work, pay attention, and actually try, and you'll get the grade yo deserve. He's incredibly helpful, and genuinely cares about his students. He's a great teacher, and I would recommend him for anyone!

But he grades incredibly hard on the essays. Make sure you talk to him about your topics. He's helpful but picky. I'd take him if you can work.

Good instructor, grabs your attention keeps you focus, funny guy, the material kicks in when you end up having nightmares from all the research and reading. lectures are great lots of activities, you leave the class with a bunch of helpfull info.

he is really funny, kind of sarcastic at times, really wants you to participate, he is young and hip, he does take forever (like really long) to return assignments/ emails (if he even returns them), just visit his office hours, you do have to put in effort in the class, make sure you do all re-writes. overall a good teacher, learned a grip.

I love Brandon! He's dedicated and fun although the class itself requires a lot of works (reading, memorizing, writing). It's SUPER NICE of him that he let us rewrite every paper for a better grade and made the final optional! (Yey!!!) To me, he's an easy grader. Totally enjoyable class, I really learned to love Literature, which was surprising :)

Floerke is the best english teacher that i have had. I took his class my very first semester right outta high school. This class is not a cake walk, you need to show him you want that grade. If you take time to see him in his office hours, then he will do the same. Finals he will grade you on how far you have come, so show him you paid attention

Mr. Floerke is an amazing instructor!! He cares about his students, and he makes the class fun. Be ready for the work load because the essays are mainly research based. He is really helpful & easy to talk to. I DEFINITELY recommend taking his class!!!

Floerke is a very down to earth professor. He grades fairly and you will get something out of his class. My writing skills actually improved when i took this course. He is hard in the beginning but it gets better towards the end. He is funny and very sarcastic :) cool dude.

brandon is truely and awesome teacher. he is realistic and clear on his expectations. he doesnt play favorites so dont expect to get by on your charm. make sure to do the readings he gives quizes a lot. he really does care so as long as you put forth the effort to do well you should have no problem with this class even if your not the best wrtitter

Floerke is a great teacher. He's fairly young, so he connects well with the class, but is also very educated, and a very fair grader. Even if you're his favorite student, he will give you an F if you deserve it, or an A for the same reason. I was mesmerized by his pants.

English is subjective in content but should be the same in structure. So if you learn how to write and make your papers interesting, you will do fine. here is a tip; use humor in your writing... make sure your funny though.

Floerke is the best instructor for learning how to write a college level essay. His class was so much fun. He will help you so much in becoming the best writer. After you take his course, you will feel more confident in your writing.

Awesome Teacher. Hated english after a bad experience with a Teacher the first time I took English 103. I am Math major and did well in his class. He give suffice work, but it is very doable. The book is well done and Brandon explains things amazingly. Makes the class fun and enjoyable every day.

GREAT teacher! VERY helpful, and relays the information in terms you can understand. You'll get a good grade as long as you do the work, and attend classes. Options papers sound more serious and scary than they actually are. Simple way to gain extra points. Take this class Floerke is awesome!

I personally loved the class, It helped me out a lot on my essay structure. He's a fun teacher & won't let u out of class early, however you wouldn't want 2 leave. He makes class fun with his stories & video game references but that dosen't mean you won't learn. Be sure 2 always do the reading & double check your essays with him & you're golden

This guy is awesome! his lectures entertain u and u do get something out of it. His structure of an essay is easy to get down. He may seem unapproachable but its the opposite. Come to him for help on your essays. Options papers are easy, and keep up on the readings for the first 6 or so weeks of class.

Definite workload= 4 essays. 3 out of class, 1 in class essay. He's very willing to help you, but YOU have to go to him for help. Office hours provide great support. Stay on top of the work and you'll be fine!

I think I have enough experience to say that the Floerke is one of the better teachers in the Fullerton College English department. Everything is clear and well defined, but he makes the class fun and is obviously passionate about literature.

He is an interesting teacher. He tends to be slightly self centered at times. Nevertheless the class builds up to the material slowly and in the end you will have learned what you need to know. The first month we had the majority of the quizzes.

Floerke is a great prof. 3 essays, midterm, final, txtbk quizzez, 10 opts paper. This class DOES take WORK. But Floerke goes out of his way to assist you. Self-advocate when you have questions, and this class is a breeze.

Seriously disorganized! He pushed back papers, decided not to do projects, and his lectures were constantly confusing.Somehow we all made it through though which seems to be his way. He was more than willing to help you though if you needed it and you got a lot of help from your peers if you brought in your rough drafts on time!

Great Professor! Dramatically improved my writing and made English one of my favorite subjects. Lets you revise all the essays and you get to keep the new grade. If you don't get an A, you probably didn't put in the effort to improve and probably didn't deserve it anyways. Fairly easy essay grader though

I loved his class, he's a great teacher and a fricken sick guy. I love him and would recommend his class to anyone. He does give you a lot of work, but I had him for honors, so a regular 101 might not be as much work. I took him and he made me wanna take from him again, which I did. So I'd say that's a pretty rad teacher if you ask me.

Amazing professor! Super funny, helpful, and very knowledgable in his field. (He's also the lead singer of his own Indie rock band, which is pretty cool!) The class itself isn't too difficult but if you do your work and take it seriously, you should be fine!

Floerke is a really great professor. He outlines everything he expects out of you on essays. 10 optional papers are required and he grades fairly easy on the 3-4 essays assigned. Midterms and finals are kind of tough, but as long as you did the reading and showed up to class, a B or an A could easily be achieved. DON'T DROP. EASY TO PASS!

Hard class, takes a lot of dedication and work! He is a cool, funny professor yes but he is a tough grader and gives a good amount of work. Mid-term and final are hard and are mostly essay questions. Just do ALL of the work and don't be a slacker and you can pass, you really have to try and put in a lot of effort to get an A or a B.

Taking his class for English 103 and by far I've learned so much more than any other class so far. The work load is a lot, but he gives extra credit, and a decent amount at that. He really challenges you, so putting in effort is a must. I don't know why people are making him seem bad when he's quite helpful. don't expect an easy A though.

Floerke is a BEAST. His class was the only challenge I've had at FC and it felt good to be academically tested again. His insight into the stories read is so interesting and eye-opening. I LOVED his class. He's hilarious and makes lectures super interesting. Current version of the book is mandatory, work hard, show up to class, its worth it!

Got to say he is not a a easy A prof. but he is a great prof. You will learn and be intrigued in his lectures. You will have to earn your grade and feel good about it.

Amazing Professor. You need to do your work and do the readings that he assigns before every class meeting and he gets ticked off if you don't know what the readings were about. Be sure to participate!! And again, Make sure you do your readings he has random pop quizzes. Take him!

Oh my god, he is just SO. FREAKING. FUNNY! He does give a lot of work, but hey, what college class would be complete without work? Always willing to help, and goes very in depth with his analysis, even if he doesn't cover much. Will have you laughing every other minute, and honestly, the first day of class, I thought he was a hot student ;)

I have always had a love for literature and writing, but Floerke has made me appreciate it in ways I never had before and has instilled my passion for literature even more! I highly recommend Professor Floerke. He was by far the best teacher I have ever had. You should go to class and try really hard because it will change your life. He is really funny, so his lectures are interesting and captivating. He is so intelligent. If I were not transferring from Fullerton College, I would take several more of his classes.

Do yourself a favor. Laugh while you learn, love to come to class, work hard and become a better writer. Take the one teacher you will always remember and will always help you out. His class is only hard when you procrastinate. Otherwise you should be having a good time getting that A you always wanted.

If you do not like to think outside of the box or challenge your own views with new knowledge, this professor is not for you. His class is challenging, but you will be glad you took him because you will learn so much about the world and yourself. Take Floerke. Expect to work for your grade, but he is totally reasonable and wants you to do well.

I took his Fri 8am class and like everyone else he knew we didn't want to be there. He cusses and is chill. Helped with anything. HW like any ENG course but a lot of students didn't read and passed with a C. He will help you with your essays and even let you revise one for a better grade. I'm horrible at English but he made it fun!

Beautiful professor and human being. My absolute favorite professor at FC. He is a true educator, teaching his students how to think and pursue their dreams. He genuinely cares about his students and loves his job. He has an inspiring life and level of intelligence. Definitely a role model to me and helped shape the person I am today. Do the work.

Hilarious lectures and really cares about his students. Very relatable and easy to talk to. Talks about optional papers, make sure to do them, they are not optional. Papers are easy and he assigns them for current and interesting concepts.

He is such a dork! Amazing English instructor! He inspired me to Study Abroad in Sevilla and I went and it was the best decision I've made in my life so far! His lectures are hilarious and thought provoking. Essays are a process and he breaks down that process with you so well with the "They say, I say" thesis. Highly recommend. Do option papers.

Floerke is the best instructor on Campus hands down. Every lecture was a pleasure to attend. That being said, he isn't an easy grader. By no means is he "hard" but you wont get an A if you don't try. It truly is a "get what you give" situation. If you're dilligent with your work, and listen to his critiques, you'll have no problem passing.

This guy-thinks he's soo funny. Mostly because he is. His class is tough but he gives you every opportunity to get an A (rewrites, extra credit). Makes himself available to students to review, clarify, pre-read papers. He gave me great advice on school stuff outside of his class. You work for your grade, but it's worth it and he's really cool.

Do not let the level of difficulty fool you. This course was very enjoyable. Class discussions were always fun because everyone was so involved, including Professor Floerke. There are three essays in total. He is a pretty tough grader, but always gives you a chance to revise the essays. Office hours are very helpful! Favorite course by far!!

Take Floerke if you have the chance to. Solid professor all around and overall chill guy. He's a NO BS type of professor, in a good way. Weekly readings and occasional (easy) pop quizzes. Does a great job of preparing you for future writing.

This was one of the harder classes I've taken. The material is rough and unless you have a study partner, it may be a struggle. Professor Floerke does make himself available whenever you need him. Be prepared for lots of jokes about how mythical Christianity, the government, and the English monarchy are (those specifically).

He is pretty sarcastic and will call you out but he does care about your grade. He will always help you if you need it. He seems intimidating but he's very nice when he isn't trying to be funny. His jokes and sarcasm make class very entertaining. You are also allowed to revise your essays.

Floerke is hilarious and super knowledgeable! This class will help you become a better critical thinker. If you are struggling in the class, then visit his office hours. He really cares about his students and wants them to succeed. We discussed issues such as race, DACA, and the criminal justice system. Interesting course! Highly recommend!

Prof Floerke is sharp-witted & hilarious. Try not to be offended by his humor. Grade will be based on 1 in class essay, 3 exams that consist of short answer/essay questions, and 2 essays that can be revised for a better grade. He confesses that he is a tough grader & gives B's & A's only sparingly. If you want an A, you will have to earn it.

This class was easy when I took it back in 2016 the readings were only a couple pages and the SI tutoring helped to think crtitically. But when I took this class it was through the TAP program which is a little different then regular english 100. Our tutor for SI was Liz you couldn't miss her red hair and all. She was great.

Professor Floerke definitely isn't the professor to take if you're looking for an easy A. However, if you care about improving your writing skills then he's the man! I already felt like I was a strong writer but he helped me improve so much more. He also allows students to revise their essays which is really helpful and he gives great feedback!

This class was super easy and I really enjoyed professor Floerke! He wants all his students to pass and it is very easy to do so. He is a hard grader but lets you revise your essay for a better grade he also makes you meet with him privately to discuss essay grades. Floerke is also pretty funny I enjoyed most classes!

Professor Floerke is a great professor. I learned a lot from him. He's opinionated and vocal, but he doesn't force his opinions on anyone. He tells you what he expects and how to get an A. He was very helpful with my special needs. He's a nice guy, and I appreciate him.

Love him. Took this class out of personal interest and bc I loved him when I took ENGL 103. Engages with u a lot, his main goal is to just get u to be able to talk about the Bible in an informed way. Great feedback, open to help whenever he can, Flexible with deadlines, but his canvas is kinda barebones and he doesn't update it often

Amazing professor overall. Kind, hilarious, and caring. He cares about his students. Gives plenty of time to finish essays. Class is not hard, but you have to work hard to get an A. Accepts late work and is very understanding. He does cuss a lot, but he does it with kindness, class, and with elegance. Definitely recommend him!

He's a great teacher. 4 essays and most of the homework assigned is busy work. Definitely retaking for critical reasoning and writing.

The best English class I've had in a long time. Lectures go off the rails sometimes but in a good way. Does peer reviews for papers (not in a judging way). When submitting essays, you schedule a conference with him and he gives feedback and allows for revision to get the grade you want.
