Gives alot of work although there is plenty of time to complete it. Explains work very well, open to suggestions. He also likes to tak e15 minute breaks from clas to play frisbee!!!!

Doctor Gramer is good. I didn't know there was so much to think about. His class was totally inspiring!

I really enjoyed this class, Although tough at times, the tougher he got the better we got... And how much more fair can you get... 100 extra credit points for doing simple stuff, show up for every class and be bumped up a whole grade? Fun class, learned a lot and loved his stories!

Gramer is a very knowledable person. I learned a great amount in this class. His class is extremely challenging, but depending on who you are, that is a good thing. If you don't care to learn, and in school only to appease your parents, take someone else.

He's alittle strange at first, but once you get to know him, he's cool. Goes out of his way to make it possible for you to pass. Definately have to work, but not overdemanding - walks you thorugh things you don't understand. If I could've I probably would've taken him for English 122, but my schedule wouldn't allow it.

This professor is very nice and laid-back and has sort of an eccentric personality. Class is very unstructured, but in a good, interesting way. Often, he is very insightful, as he relates literature to everyday experiences. He makes it easy to do well in his class.

This teacher was very funny. We were always watching videos on You Tube that he some how always related to Class. He was a very good teacher. I would Definately reccommend him to anyone taking english. He will definatley make the long boring classes worth your time.

i took him for both 121 and 122. 121 is do-able. but for 122, he has a paper do each week, and its just too much work.

One of my favorite teachers of all time. He really cares about his students and what he teaches. Very laid back class and he's very approachable. He'll tell you himself he's a pretty tough grader, but always gives you a chance to correct mistakes. You will learn in his class. Take it. :0)

Dr Gramer encouraged us to think, voice our opinions and then write. He made the class fun and I feel much more confident in my writing ability. I highly recommend him as a professor. Follow his instructions, he'll work with you until you achieve the grade you want.

Brandon is awesome! through the use of partner/group discussions and activities and youtube videos, he is able to make engl 121 both helpful and enjoyable. between his geeky-cool personality, his crazy use of hand gestures, and his love for the blues, you'll be sure to get a kick out of his class...everyday! take Brandon...you'll be glad you did!

I took Gramer for American Lit and World Lit. He's extremely nice, funny, and helpful. Usually I do not like unstructured classes, but this one is great. He encourages you to express your opinion on interesting topics involving literature. Classes are interesting, and he gives a fair amount of work, but he's not hard. I'd highly recommend!

Before taking Enlgish 122 with Dr. Gramer I had signed up with 2 different professors in previous semesters and dropped both classes. This is the first english 122 class that is interesting, fun, and gives a tolerable amount of work. Dr. Gramer is by far one of my favorite professors! this prof is a very hard grader trust me. but I can PROMISE you that by taking this class you will become an A writer, as long as he see's you trying your best you will get an A i got C's on all my paper and he gave me an A in the class, TRUST me if your LAZY don't take this man, but if u really struggle at writing he's an excellent to learn from..

So glad I decided to take Brandon again for this class, as I had previous taken him for 121. His geeky-cool personality, youtube clips, and ability to tell entertaining, yet relatable stories, helped to make his lessons and discussions all the more interesting. Go for Brandon, as he makes a typically boring 122 class into a rare enjoyable one.

Took him for ENGL 121, 122, and American Lit. He can sometimes be a tough grader but he is definitely very open when it comes to discussions and perspectives. Quite laid back, he'll let you know when he doesn't want to be in class all day and when a reading or something is total crap but he has to teach you it. Definitely recommend.

Man, have I had a ball with this professor. Had him for three semesters for different subjects, and I've always learned something new from him. He'll make you chuckle with his geeky-cool style of teaching. He's very laid back, open for debates and discussions, and uses youtube a bit for visual referencing. A chill guy, who's always willing to help.

He is one of the best instructors at BCC. He is very helpful and will give you a chance to correct your papers. I would take him again and highly recommend him. He has an unusuall way of teaching, but it works. He's great. I don't hesitate in recommending him. You won't be sorry.

Gramer is a good man. He helped me through his class. Expects a LOT from everyone, you must show up and be willing to put in the effort. He doesn't take anyones Sh*T, trust me. I butted heads with him originally but then we got along. If you have his class you will not regret it.

Makes you get papers revised several times(like 4-5), even when your paper's perfect!-Went to English dept. helpers & all said my papers were excellent. Nice, but a bit unfair I believe. Other friends wrote badly & received A(blond-???). Makes me ? some professor's credibility! Received an A!:)

great teacher, love his class he really makes u think and just when u think u have reached your limit he pulls more out. he really makes u expand your mind and think. phenominal teachers always helps with papers and essays and u can always revise as many times as u want for a better grade! highly recomend!

Such a smart guy. No textbook used, he gives you all the readings. Actually makes literature interesting and understandable. Expects alot from the papers. You will start the class on reading Poe and leave talking about philosophy and cloning. Such an intelligent guy. Really learned alot.

Don't expect an easy grader, that's for one. He's a funny guy and makes class interesting. Do your work, and be prepared to do revisions on everything you hand in –he does it to better your work, not to discourage you. A great professor, though a pretty tough grader. In American Lit he gives extra credit points for participating, so take advantage!

He's amazing! Don't take this class if you're looking for an easy 'filler' class. I'm not an English major but loved this class so much. He keeps things interesting and expresses his passion for literature. You need to put effort into your writing, and absolutely read all the assigned works. It was refreshing to have a challenging class.

Great teacher he really teaches you how to write a research paper. He is strict and uneasy but he really cares. It took me sometimes to get used to he way of teaching. It is not an easy A but it's worth working for it.

He is an intelligent person who will challenge you and improve your writing. Easy A? Absolutely not... but if you show your best effort he will do everything he can to help you succeed. He has a quirky personality that is funny at times, although some people don't get along with him. He's normally pretty cool and you'll definitely learn a lot.

This is a research paper class and he goes over the essentials very well. Gramer gives you everything you need to pass the class all you need is to actually put the work in. Not an easy grader but if you follow his steps you shouldn't have a problem. I have used the knowledge from the class in many classes afterward.

Great teacher, he loves comedians and integrates them into the lessons. Very blunt which is a great thing for a writing class. He will help you if you ask, as long as you show that you are trying he will most likely pass you.

He starts out easy on the assignments, but when the midpoint of the semester comes, the assignments get longer. I had a challenging semester. as much as I wanted to drop his class he encouraged me to stay. It's not a walk in the park, but if you go to his office hours he'll help you. He cares a lot. Ask him to read your papers when you're with him!

Prof. Gramer is a solid professor, but his class is NOT easy. Make sure to take advantage of every resource he provides including the essay examples, thesis examples, databases, ect. to get the best grade possible on the papers. He's very particular and his feedback isn't always clear. I managed an A on both papers, but only after HOURS of work.

I had Gramer for English 122 and let me tell you, this man is hysterical. He makes somewhat awkward jokes but he's such an easygoing guy that wants to see you learn. Make sure you go to class, you won't regret a single class with him!

Honestly anyone who says Professor Gramer was hard or failed the class either didn't participate or submit assignments. He's a tough grader and keeps you in class till the very end but he's so easygoing. Try not to skip a class bc it': mandatory but such a chill prof.

If your attitude about Brookdale is "Cs get degrees", avoid this professor. If you truly want to be intellectually challenged and complete assignments that require an abstract way of thinking, Professor Gramer does an outstanding job at this. Yes, the class was difficult, but after completing the course, I feel I've truly grown as an intellectual.

This class ended up being one of my tougher classes but I enjoyed it. Prof Gramer actually wants his students to learn and become better writers. He gives plenty of chances for you to improve papers and improve your grade. In class discussions were fun and interesting.

Tough class, made even tougher by going through a rough time in my life where I was meeting with the crisis counsoler every week. Although I was submitting my essays late, Graner recognized that I was working very hard on them, so when I explained my situation to him, he excused and encouraged me. He assigns tons of homework, but is a caring man.

This prof was actually very helpful, he makes you work for the grade you want. It's not necessarily an easy class regardless because its a research english class. However he is so helpful and wants you to succeed. I've definitely had terrible profs but prof Gramer's class has been such a great experience. Definitely take him!!!

Gramer is a great english professor. He makes you work for your grade and tells you what he really thinks. If you show up, hand assignments in on time and work hard then you'll do well. He's pretty funny, I didn't think I would end up liking the class as much as I did.

Brandon was great!! He spread out the semester with two papers and every week he gave us an assignment that helped us to work towards the final draft of our paper. He graded all of those assignments quickly so we were able to revise any major issues before the final draft was due. He was lenient with due dates as well and so nice and caring.

Such a great professor he cared about every one of his students and made you feel good. Definitely would recommend him to people!

Kind of an eccentric guy, but he's really nice once you get to know him. You only do 2 or 3 essays in the semester, and the way he breaks them up each week makes it completely doable. I had him during the sudden switch from in-person to online due to COVID and he was super accomodating to the entire class and really showed he cared about us.

Professor Gramer is phenomenal, take him if you have the option! Technically, this was in-person but due to COVID it was online. For honor students, he grades every assignment will full credit IF you complete them. He actually grades the work on the final draft of the two essays written. Participate, do the homework, attend class. You'll do well!

There are two big research papers throughout the semester and they are very difficult. But if you put in the effort the class is great.

I think a lot of the bad reviews are from people who haven't taken many college classes before. The work is tough but manageable and has super nice.

Answer his emails, even if you didn't see it until later, bc he will give feedback & I didn't realize until later & asked if I can still make changes & he let me as long as it was the same week for the most part, & gave me credit! He wants u to keep going back and critiquing your work, so do it! Do extra credit, u never know when you'll need it!
