There was a lot of freedom in the writing assignments, which kept the class from being boring. He's also amusing and very accesible, should you ever have difficulty with anything. Better than any other professor I've had yet.

This is the best professor. You have to write some papers, but they are neither difficult nor long enough to make you worry about them. This is the professor that you choose if you want to pass with a good grade and little effort (believe me, I'm a lazy guy)

This guy is grading system is moderate. He makes the class very interesting and allows students to resubmit work if not satisfied with grade. This class is recommended regardless of major. He has a way of bringing out the creative writer in all of his students.

Cool guy! I had him for Speech in July 06 and the best thing about him is that he doesn't censor students' topics. I was able to speak freely on a variety of topics from HIV to women. I dropped a speech class the previous semester because the professor was a real tightass. The minute I mentioned my views on women she was ready to fail me! Take Him!

This man is humorous--you will never have a dull moment in his class. I completed his class as a better person. He is a blessing, not only to CCNY, but to this generation.

Great Professor, Very captivating and funny, you will want to do the assignments and if your group was as great as mine, you will have fun. Be careful when making speeches there are a few things that he does not care for - no hats, no touching of the face, stuff like that. Otherwhise an easy grade.

At first I did not really like this professor from the start. He comes off as being rude and mean, but as the semester rolls along, you get used to his jokes. The best English Literature professor at CCNY. I had him for prose writing a while ago and his teaching method was very unexpected. He was fun, enlightening, and very knowledgeable. He totally gets and cares for each student. He also teaches so that everyone understands. Definitely take one of his classes if you get the chance.

He is very hilarious. All of his lessons were very understandable. The papers were easy especially since they are based on your opinions and very little research. Extremely good Professor. He is extremely cultured and is a great at what he does. However, double check grammar on all papers. He is very keen on picking up mistakes, but will not take off too many points for it.

Judell is fun but he also makes you learn. He welcomes students in a way that everyone don't just shy away to participate in class discussion. He's such a hard working and amiable person that if you graduate without taking his class you didn't really get anything useful from CCNY, he's that good of a professor.

Professor Judell was incredibly helpful when it came to assignments' feedback. He taught the entire class tips on how to become a better writer, some do's and don'ts, and even though this wasn't an English course, he took the time to teach us some grammar as well. Expect many sarcastic jokes with Prof. Judell - which make the class pretty fun.

Prof Judell was my MHC seminar 1 instructor two years ago. So far, I've had 32 professors and his awesomeness is in the clouds. He's amazing on so many levels! Judell single handedly made my entire semester worth it. Not only was this class very easy, but actually enjoyable. We managed to learn theater and have fun. There was not a day the students did not laugh! He is an easy grader, but will edit your work down to the T, which is definitely great for students who aren't the best writers. Overall-AWESOME

Prof. Judell is one of the funniest and most laid back (in a good way) professors that I've ever taken. He really cares about art, and about exposing his students to the world of art that is in NYC. Participation and enthusiasm are more important to him than how "good" you are at the assignments. Would take again.

Professor Judell made my first year of my CCNY experience worth an experience. His humor was something that I have never experienced in my other classes before. He knows how to keep the class interesting. If you show up and do your work, you will pass for sure! Definitely would recommend!

Creative genius

I would say he is the best professor at CCNY. You will never find another professor like him. It's the only class in CCNY that will make you laugh all the time. Papers are really easy and he will give you extra time to submit. You will love his facial expressions and he has a funny face too.

An absolute gem of a professor. All looked forward to attending his class. He is the kind of person you wish you can be friends with outside of the classroom as well, since he is that funny and joyful. Every lecture was filled with laughter. Was sweet enough to accommodate to my religious prayers. I will miss him and will always remember him.

Prof BJ is amazing. If you're in his seminar, youre very lucky. His class will always bring a smile to your face. He is funny, yet takes his class's experience seriously. He genuinely cares about his students and goes above and beyond to help them become cultured.

Yay 200th review here! :D Professor Judell is hands down one of the best professors in CCNY. His lectures are fun, relaxing, but also thought provoking at the same time. He's very funny and cares about his students a lot. He even raised money for us so that we could all go see a Broadway play. You will not regret taking his class!!!

He is the best professor I have ever had. He is so funny and he makes the environment in class very comfortable which makes it easier to give speeches. I have had less anxiety with public speaking because of him. Bless him.

I love professor Judell. I had issues with attendance due to taking another e-permit class and while I passed, honestly? I loved this course, and I felt like I missed out on a lot. & it's not often we genuinely feel we're missing out in a + sense with classes. We're just getting through them. Literally the best professor at CCNY. From the first moment you meet him he is absolutely hilarious, and as you get to know him he is the most caring and sweetest person you will ever meet. He works so hard to get us to go to shows, has so many interesting stories, and will literally be there for you 24/7. Take him!!!!!!!

Professor Judell is, hands down, one of the best teachers I've had in my entire life. His classes are always fun and everyone has a good time. He jokes around a lot and we mostly watch movies or learn about art and their importance in culture and society, with few papers/projects. I took this class virtually. So it might be different for people who will take it on campus. Nevertheless I enjoyed the class. Very easy. You just have listen to others speeches and do couple to speeches. Those are fun to do too.

Such an amazing professor. I had him online and I wouldve loved to see how his in person classes are. Extremely funny, gives amazing and helpful feedback, and makes public speaking enjoyable. I would definitely take another class of his. I had an amazing time!

Professor Judell is one of the most charismatic professors. He makes the class genuinely fun and makes it a comfortable space for everyone to be able to present their speeches. I highly recommend taking him. Not a harsh grader and gives great feedback. Prepare to laugh and prepare to maybe end up on one of his slides like I did.

I've never been a fan of public speaking but this class has helped me improve and become more comfortable doing it. He's a great and caring professor who's always looking to give tips and help when he can. The only work given was speeches you'd have to present in class. He's a lighthearted and kind soul. You won't regret taking this class.

Professor Judell is probably the best professor you'll ever come across. He eases you into the world of arts without making it feel like a chore. You'll come out of every class in a lightened mood. He had also put his students first and made sure that we all had an opportunity to learn more about the arts and the history of its presence in New York City. I feel sad that we are his last MHC class because others can't say they they were taught by the BRANDON JUDELL: GENIUS & ICON!!!

Prof Judell was such a joy and pleasure to have! He is extremely sweet. kind and hilarious. Practically every class we had a great time and always looked forward to the next one. It's a shame that he retired because we would have loved to visit him during the following semester. He is an amazing person and extremely inspirational!!
