This was his first year teaching the course and he did a great job. He is a very clear grader and the assignments are not hard at all. You can ask for extensions ahead of time, with no questions asked. And there are ALOT of extra credit opportunities that are easy. You don't need to purchase the textbook, he provides an online copy.

He was a great professor and was very understand of our schedules. He is always willing to extend due dates for you with no questions asked. One of the best professors I've had and I really enjoyed this class.

He also did a great job of making discussions move along and giving us interesting things to talk about. He also responds pretty quick to emails and he gives lots of good feedback on essays.

The reading is very manageable with plenty of time to complete them. Participation in class is graded but if you read it isn't hard to participate.

All of the readings in this class are interesting (and free!), and the discussions do help with analyzing and synthesizing the material. The assignments are more than fair, and there isn't a lot of writing. Participation is important.

I had Brandon for my LIT2000 which was taken online (due to the COIVD-19 pandemic) and he was wonderful! All of the readings he assigned were super interesting and actually from a diverse group of authors. Moreover, he legitimately cares about his students and understands that we are all humans with lives. Also, he's funny & gives good feedback!

I took this class online the past semester and the professor was by far one of my favorites. There is a decent amount of reading in this class and occasional discussion posts about what you read but he is extremely accommodating and has no issue extending deadlines. Overall little work,no hard tests,fairly easy A and deeply cares about his students

Professor Murakami is lighthearted and easily approachable. He made the class enjoyable especially during the pandemic which is a feat in its own right. The readings that are assigned are not too much and are usually 50-100 pages on average depending on the medium of the story. He is very understanding of student situations and the class is great.

Great professor. If you are really interested in Literature, you will have fun participating in the lectures and doing the assignments. If you are not interested in Literature, then it is still an easy class with a manageable workload.

Murakami is probably the best teacher I had during my freshmen year at UF, he's an amazing English teacher and understands the stresses of freshmen year allowing for easier grades but also amazing feedback for whatever work you put in. Make sure to come to the discussions and participate as there is credit there, but the lectures are enjoyable.

There isn't a crazy amount of reading and writing assignments were pretty straight forward. As long as you do the work and participate in discussions you should have a good grade.

We watched a lot of shows, typically a season a week, so have time put aside for that. Classes were mostly discussion so talk every once in a while and you'll get a good participation grade. There were 5 total discussion posts and 3 major papers that made up your grade. He gives good feedback on your writing if you ask. Easy and enjoyable class.

We watched a lot of anime outside of class (4-5 hrs per wk), but this was based on his surveying of students. I thought all of the shows were great and, to my surprise, were good mediums for discussion of political, historical, & social trends in Japan. Also, he is very considerate of stress. Fun, insightful, easy, and you CAN learn if you WANT.

Pretty easy class and not very time consuming. We had to watch about 4-5 hours anime outside of the class but the viewing schedule was adjusted based on how the class was feeling. Brandon is really considerate and takes into account the mental health of his students. Gives great feedback on assignments and offers extra credit.

I haven't finished school, but Mr. Murakami is easily the best professor I think I'll ever have. Finding a gem like him is a once-in-a-million chance. He ACTUALLY cares about you, and his classes are designed for you to get an 'A'. He knows what it's like to be a student, and I could talk to him like a friend rather than a professor.

He was FANTASTIC! Yeah there was a bit to watch outside of class (4-5 hrs) but cmon it's anime. Brandon was an awesome professor and he was very down to earth. He treated us like students but also wanted to see us succeed and not fail. His teaching style involved lots of group discussions that revolved around the readings assigned the prior night. Great teacher and provides helpful feedback on all writing assignments.

Those who are willing to participate, do their homework adequately, and listen to the wisdom offered, should succeed. However, he makes the class as painless as possible, and I am very glad I chose to take this class. The food theme was also very fun!

He often talks about various social problems related to the theme of the course, which is quite inspiring.

He was always able to convey his points very clearly, especially when explaining takeaways from readings or documentaries. He also asks good questions to really open your eyes to what's possible and what consequences could result from those possibilities. This really helped me to see the bigger picture when analyzing an article or documentary.

Brandon is a chill professor. He is very lenient on assignment due dates (email him and he will have no problem moving it for you) and he is not a hard grader. He also gives out lots of extra credit. He wants to be the best teacher possible so he is willing to listen to any feedback you give to him and he has no problem applying said feedback.

Try not to fall behind with the reading logs but you'll be okay if you miss a few. His feedback is long, too long in my opinion.

Brandon is a great instructor. He is very caring and made sure to check in with us before every class. Brandon also structured the reading schedule based on majority rule for what we wanted to read and for how many weeks. There are different readings every week, but all of them are supplied, so there is no need to buy anything yourself.

A lot of LIT2000 was based on discussion but his personality made those periods feel easy and natural. . I took this class because it was a requirement for my major, however I ended up enjoying it and I am glad I had to take it. There are no exams and the class mainly consists of in class discussions about the required readings. There are three essays and a few other assignments, but nothing too difficult at all.

There are tons of readings in the class but I had a good time taking it. The lecture is easy to understand and we had many meaningful discussions. The professor really respects each of our ideas.

Best prof and class ever. So easy and I feel I learned a lot. Great to take as a freshman because plenty of career prep stuff at the end. I was writing papers 3 times as long in high school. Didn't use any AI and still found class to be easy, fun, and uesful. Would recommend to anyone and everyone.
