My favorite professor so far. Very chill guy and pretty funny. Take him.

GREAT TEACHER! Professor Rose is really nice. I was dealing with some personal issues this semester and he was really understanding about my situation. I'm not an anthropology major but still found this class really interesting.

this guy is awesome and he is young which is inspiring. made me want to study anthro. plays cool videos in class. 3 exams from lecture. can do well without the reading if you pay attention and take good notes.

Brandon's a nice guy. His exams are based on the lectures, so if your there to take notes you'll do awesome in his class! I would take him again if possible.

Am I the only one who finds him to be pretty cute?! Anyway, he's a great anthropology professor. His exams are literally based on his lectures and sometimes class videos. Take good notes and study those, and you'll do well. Read the book to back up your understanding; it's a difficult read, but pretty interesting! He also assigns a 5pg paper.

Really good class. Not only is the subject interesting, but he plays a lot of videos which makes the topics and studies easier to understand. As long as you put a little (and I mean just a little) effort into it, you'll do just fine.

Ok, so I had to take this class for GE and was not looking forward to it at all. But WOW is this guy a great professor. He's an extremely friendly and cool, explains things clearly, and is always willing to help those that need it. It's a pretty easy class to do well in as long as you show up and do the reading he assigns.

He has a fun personality & makes the class interesting, a huge plus since this was a once a week night class for me. You don't need the book for exam 1, but for the last two, you need to read carefully. There's also a 5 page research paper that can be about anything in biological anthropology, but he must approve your topic. Good GE class overall.

If this class were taught by any other professor, few would pass.. mainly because at times the books can be very dryconfusingscientific but brandon simplifies the content so that students understand what's going on. Not really a fine detail oriented class. Plus, he's easy on the eyes.

Great professor! He really teaches the material in a way you'll understand and remember it. MAKE SURE to go to class because what he says in lecture is whats mostly on the exams. Exams are pretty fair, just review notes and skim through chapters on topics he mentioned in class. Super easy and interesting GE!

Took online during spring 2015 semester. Easy online class to take. 3 tests (including final) which you have one week to take and e-mail him your answers. Weekly assignments are due but they are not hard or time consuming at all. I am a graphic design major and have no interest in this subject and still passed with an A.

At the beginning of the semester I didn't think I was going to enjoy this class but it ended up being one of my favorites. Lectures can be pretty fast pace at times but very informative. Taking notes during lecture is essential, but if you do that and do the readings you'll do good in the class.

Loved this class and Brandon. He loves what he teaches and it is obvious. Exams were not difficult.

Professor Rose was extremely transparent with his expectations which allowed me to do the assignments correctly. His syllabus is a huge help, lectures are understandable, and he's great with communication. Will definitely take another class of his if it's available.

Brandon Rose is a very good Professor, he is very clear about what he wants you to read and make sure you know for the exams. He is very nice. Made anthropology very interesting and fun. I would highly recommend, he prepares you for the exams. Takes everything right out of the book.

Enjoyed the class and material. None of the videos were outdated so it kept the class interesting. He seems very passionate about the subject as well. I took him online and I am wonder what he looks like lol. From his posts he seems so young! I wouldn't mind taking him on campus if his class is anything like the one online.

Great professor. Funny, very helpful and nice. The first exam is really easy if you've ever taken a biology class, so it's easy to assume the rest of exams won't require as much studying, but they definitely do. Go to class and review your notes and skim chapters, he lets you know when a chapter is especially important. 10/10 would take again.

Great professor who shows great interest in the course. Straightforward and you knew exactly what to expect. One of the most organized classes I have ever taken. Weekly forum posts, one paper, two midterms and a final. Very helpful and makes it easy to learn. One of the best professors I've taken at CSUF.

Best online class! Highly recommend. Was very organized and grades were posted right away. Topics covered were so interesting! I would show my friends the lectures and videos from class all the time. Weekly forum posts, and 3 exams. The exams are timed but if you know the text and lecture material you'll be fine.

Took last semester. Great class for a GE requirement. We need more professors like Brandon. He made the class fun. I looked forward to coming each week even though it was at night after a full work day.

I took his class online this past spring. I got a C in his class but that was clearly my fault for not completing easy discussion boards. However I did read and check out his PowerPoints and videos he would post weekly. They were very interesting and I would find myself talking about them with coworkers. (Oops) There is a paper but it's not hard.

I love his 101 class online. It was very straight forward all you needed was the powerpoint no book! He also emails you back less than 24 hours. Recommend him overall.

This professor was one of the best i have ever had. He made each class fun and I enjoyed watching all of the fun videos. I was able to learn and still have fun at the same time. I definitely recommend him. There was no homework or quizzes, we had a couple exams but they were all very straight forward. If you take notes in class, you will pass.

Professor Rose was easily the best teacher I had last semester. You could tell that he genuinely cares about teaching. He involves the entire class with discussions about the topic rather than give boring lectures.

Come to class! The 3 exams are based on the LECTURES! Super easy to pass. You don't need the book. The lectures aren't posted online so take detailed notes during class! That's all you need so don't skip class! He is so amazing, great professor. Super nice and not bad to look at either. 1 paper, be careful it is hard so DON'T DO THE NIGHT BEFORE!

Prof Rose is my favorite Prof so far. He is really chill and funny. The test are based on his lectures, but he doesn't post them online so you have to go to class or make friends. He doesn't assign any homework, only one paper, and my class only had 3 test. He canceled our final exam and gave us our last test as the "final" instead. 100% recommend

Taking this class was the best decision I've ever made at CSUF. Super funny/ interesting guy. Total sweetheart. Made me want to show up to every class even when I skipped all my others. I wish I could take more classes with Brandon. 10/10

Pretty easy GE class, he puts a lot of emphasis on reading the book but go to class and you'll do just fine. Lectures are important and a lot of test material is based on videos shown in class. He goes on a lot of tangents and his personality bugs me - that's the only reason I wouldn't take him again. He also never responds to emails so GO TO CLASS

He was the first Antro class I have ever taken and after taking his class I am now minoring in Antro. To be fair, he doesn't stick to his syllabus and moves due/test dates around a lot, but he always lets you know far in advance. He has good lectures and encourages his student to speak up in class. Brandon Rose is an awesome professor, take him!

Brandon Rose is by far one of the most intelligent person I have ever met. He is not your typical professor but he is awesome. I definitely recommend taking his anthro 101 class!

Very funny, intelligent and inspirational professor. Doesn't post grades online so you have to wait until the school posts it :( 3 tests and 1 paper. Tests were hard for me because the lectures aren't super clearish, watch a lot of videos, no study guide, is only accessible if you go to his office hours. Would definitely take this professor again

Very laid back professsor, he discusses current events in the anthropology world for 20 min every class. He repeats everything multiple times If it will be on the test. Very easy, but requires reading. The chapters are long, but its super straight forward.

TAKE THIS PROFESSOR IF YOU CAN! You can tell that he has a passion for what he teaches and he is a super cool guy too! My only regret is that I didn't take him in person. This was one of my favorite classes ever and I learned so many fascinating things from it!

Prof was super funny and relatable. His lectures are really good and interesting. We had 1 paper to write and 3 exams that were moderate difficulty. Hes easy if you show up, pay attention in class. Professor Rose has one of the clearest structure for an OL class. Definitely take him if you want something that you can check your grades through in the semester. We had one paper, and 3 exams and they were fairly easy to work on. His grading is clear and he responds quickly via email. TEXTBOOK HEAVY. Be sure to read read read!

Straightforward class. Weekly discussion board questions. 3 tests, make sure to review the text before starting since he only gives you 25minutes for each test. And final research paper. If youre looking to statisfy your GE B.5 area, TAKE THIS class! I had already dropped 2 other classes to fullfil this area and I ended up with an A in this class.

Excellent professor amazing lectures

I'm saying THE MOST BORING Anthropology class I've ever seen in my life. He assigns so many things to do and makes you to read the worst books ever. Even though it was an online class the exam took my whole day to complete it, super tough class! Only thing I liked was the documentaries he was posting along with the super boring readings

If you read the material and look at the powerpoint and videos provided, you should do well in the class. Time permitting, I would've taken him in class b/c I chuckled a lot at the banter. Very interesting subject matter that should make reading fly by. Paper is do-able as are weekly hw from reading. Broadens perspective of human behavior.

Rose is a pretty awesome professor. His lectures are interesting and he relates the content of his class to everyday life. He puts on videos every so often to help make the content understandable. He does speed through his powerpoints so reading is very much recommended. He assigned one research paper (5 pages) but other than that, no homework.

Very interesting class, I wish I would have taken it in person. He made the online course very easy to follow. Watch the videos and do the weekly discussions - they are not difficult. There were a couple of exams and quizzes and one paper. You can probably get away with not buying the book, but it came in handy for me.

Half the class is showing videos id already seen on amazon prime. Watch a few of those and its an easy A. Super nice and laid back guy. Good class conversations. I didnt read the text once. Defitniely worth taking the class.

Do not miss class because attendance matters a lot to him. He's such a cool guy I just did not like how he talked too much about his personal life because that made him go through the powerpoints so fast. So pay attention during the powerpoints, don't really need the book even though he says its necessary. His lectures tell you everything.

His classes are very entertaining. Hes funny and very passionate about what he teaches. I never missed class because lectures arent heavy and overwhelming, but interesting, amusing, and clearly conveyed. He encourages questions and discussions that broaden your perspective on things. Great videos too!

Very passionate about the subject, funny, and approachable. There's 3 tests, none are cumulative, but they can be tricky because there's a lot of all the above or only A and B answer choices. You get points just for coming to class. Also, there's one paper where you have to talk about human behavior on a tv show, in a movie, etc.

Prof. Rose favorite classes/professors. he was funny and obviously passionate about this class. I like that he shared personal stories to help relate them to whatever the topic was that week. I wouldn't say this class is an easy A however if you show up to class and pay attention you should have no problem passing. book is helpful.

An easy class if science is not your best subject. There's about 3 exams and 1 paper but no homework. He goes through his powerpoint notes pretty quickly and assigns readings, but does not post any study guides. Overall, he's an easy and really funny teacher. I definitely recommend taking his class!

Graded only on one paper and two exams and the final. Must come to class for the lectures since they are not posted online. He goes through the slides really fast though, so you must write fast. The textbook is needed to read before class. No extra credit opportunities. He doesn't use email. Alright class and professor overall.

Brandon is the coolest! I loved his class so much. No homework other than reading. Grading is based on 3 noncumulative exams and attendance. Not exactly an easy A (still gotta read), but one of the greatest professors I have ever had.

One of the best professors I've had at CSFU, makes lectures interesting. Does not post slides online so make sure you write fast and use your notes as a guide for what to study for exams. Lots of reading so don't fall behind. Three noncumulative exams and one five page paper also show up to class as it counts as participation points.

STUPID CORONA VIRUS *knocks on wood* I really enjoyed coming to his class so I am upset that this week was probably the last week I was able to go to his class. Brandon is a very open person, I really liked the 10-15 minute discussions we had in class. Overall, really great professor he made the lectures understandable + reading is very helpful

So if it wasnt for Corona Id be in his class every Monday/Wednesday but oh well. Hes a cool professor, hes interested in your thoughts & wants to you to actually understand the material. Before this class I didnt know what anthropology was & now I find this subject interesting. I would take him again & recommend.

I thought Anthropology would be boring when I first enrolled in it but it's actually very interesting and Professor Rose makes the class fun! He always interacts with the class and wants to hear our thoughts or stories. The reading can be difficult to want to finish sometimes but it'll definitely help you for the test.

Interesting fella. Regular schedules: no homework, he lectures w/ powerpoints, discussions, documentary videos, textbook reading to study- tests are straight to the point. COVID19 schedule: documentary videos, powerpoint slides, & textbook used for 4-5 paragraph assignments -can take some time but are graded easily. Must go to class. I recommend!

Prof Rose gave engaging lessons with a lot of pertinent info. He was accommodating for adapted learning needs and humorous. I really enjoyed his class and (as a bonus) he is good looking. lol

Brandon is one of my favorite professors! He makes lectures fun and shows a lot of videos to help you understand. The only grades were exams, a paper, and discussions once we went virtual. He takes attendance every day but it's a fun class so it's worth it. Take good notes during class and read the book for extra help and the exams will be easy.

Great professor, whether you are or arent an anthro major. For context, Im a film major and took this class for GE credit, but was really surprised with how much I enjoyed the class. Super easy A as long as you pay adequate attention in class. Really chill professor!! 10/10 would take again.

If you are thinking of taking this professor, do it! I had no knowledge of Anthropology but this class was very easy to learn and catch on quick. He is very considerate of the situations we are in. I will be taking another class with Professor Rose next semester!

Professor Rose made this class super easy to navigate. I was a bit nervous about taking this course since my knowledge of anthropology was so little, but I did learn a lot. Although the class was a fully online class, the work was not overly overwhelming. Prof Rose was very accommodating with the circumstances and made this course less stressful.

Professor Rose pulled through this semester in many ways. For a fully online course, the workload was not as bad and could be completed in a day. He accommodated all his students during midterms and finals week which made it easier for us!! Definitely would recommend his class and would take him again if ever given the chance. Amazing prof! :))

Professor Rose gives very clear grading criteria so it makes it very easy to complete assignments just how he wants them completed. Weekly assignments that are the same every week, just based off different materials. As long as you read the textbook and read the instructions of the assignments, youll pass this class with flying colors. Love him!!

I took Professor Rose for Anthro 344 online, his class was very straight forward do the work and you will pass. He provided weekly videos that will be with the chapter we where reading that help but the reading in perspective and help out a lot. The text book is required. Do the work and you will pass.

This was one of the most organized and well-structured classes I've taken during COVID. Prof. Rose grades quickly and is very clear in his expectations. It was a little more work than other classes, but felt like less because everything was so clear. The actual subject matter I hated, but I would definitely recommend taking another class with him.

This is my last semester before I graduate and everyone told me I had to take this class with Brandon. I am a little sad I never got to in person now because of COVID this last year, but I still liked it online. He posts lots of cool videos and is very fast with email responses. Do the readings for the weekly forums and you should be fine.

This was my third class with professor Rose. I love him! My first two were in person which I prefer since it's his personality and humor that makes the class so great. At least he grades and responds to email very fast online. Coronavirus sucks!

Weekly powerpoints with some videos to watch and a Q&A forum for material learned. Professor gives great feedback every week and cares alot about the class and his students. Forums are not too difficult if you do the materials for the week. Highly recommend the class!

Five star. Great class and professor. Even considering changing my major now. I find myself talking about things I learned all the time to my boyfriends annoyance. Attendance is required, but the class is normally fun so you wont mind. Show up and do your readings and you'll be fine.

Took his class for Sex, Evolution & Human Nature. He's a great professor and is more laid back. Likes to start off class with discussions (optional to participate in) and will show lots of interesting videos with lectures. He goes fast through the slides, but he explains in simpler ways verbally. It was a fun class; 10/10 would take him again!

Prof Rose is passionate about what he teaches, so the class is great. He gives lectures supplemented with videos, but you NEED to read your book in order to do well on the tests. I'd take him again, he was engaging and funny, and explained confusing concepts with memorable examples.

Took this class to meet one of my GE requirements and it was probably one of my best choices. Brandon does a good job to make sure you understand the material. Downside is that the only things that go in the gradebook are the tests, but as long as you pay attention, take notes, and read the textbook you will pass.

Attendance is mandatory, and no electronics are allowed in class. I would give a 5 but he does not post lecture slides on canvas. Overall great professor, easy A if you do the readings and show up to class, I barely read and didn't do too bad. 10/10 would take again.

He gives points for attendance,so I would suggest going most days.I have missed a couple & never felt I missed much after getting the notes from a classmate. 3 exams,most were easy.I think part of this is that he understands a lot of people take his class as a GE.

This was my second time taking Brandon's classes and it is definitely worth it! The online class is graded only on one or two quizzes and discussion boards which is nice, but they become repetitive and boring. If you do all of the discussions, you don't have to do the essay. The workload gets heavier over the semester but its still pretty easy

I took Prof Rose's class over winter break and I loved it. It was super interesting and easy to manage. Everything was asynchronous and he is organized and the homework was simple and straightforward. He cares about his students learning and their success in the class, and made sure our workload wasn't too much for us. Highly recommend!

Amazing professor. Class consists of lectures, videos (in class), readings and tests. Everything is manageable. What's on the lectures and some of the readings are on the tests. Lectures pretty much cover a majority of the tests. Like any other class study and you'll do good on tests. No canvas or electronics out so attending class is key.

great guy who actually made me feel excited to come to class. tests were easy, and even when he said he absolutely needed to read the book, i got high A's without reading it. he cancelled our paper and final exam, and engaged with us so often. also kinda cute ngl

One of the best professors at CSUF! In-person class where he would use PowerPoint and go in depth rather than read off them. Strict on no technology (understandable). 3 exams and a paper. Would start class off with an optional discussion of anything. Attendance matters. Overall funny and cool guy!

Crazy funny professor fr. Graded only on tests and participation, so if you show up every day, it will help your grade. Had some inspirational speech at the end it was nice :)

**ONLINECOURSE** I think everyone has a good experience with Professor Rose!! Im taking his online class and it is super easy but also interesting material!! He won't expect a lot from you as long as you complete discussion boards. There are some quizzes and a paper.

Pr. Rose was very funny and personable, and his lectures were easy to follow. Attendance matters, 100%!! But overall, I think he is a good professor, who knew how to make the subject matter engaging.

Professor Rose is great for this class! Lectures are always funny and make it very interesting. Attendance matters, but you have two excused absences. No electronics which is fine, and you can only take notes with paper and pen/pencil. This class was pretty easy.

Professor Rose always brought such a great energy to class and genuinely made anthropology so interesting to learn. No homework and only 3 exams, but COME TO CLASS. Attendance makes a large part of your grade and all your studying will be focused on the notes you make on the lectures, which aren't available online whatsoever.

Professor Rose's class is super engaging - his lectures are funny and make the material really interesting. With some paper/pencil note-taking and a bit of reading, this class is a breeze. I found Unstuckstudy super helpful for quick study prep as well.

I loved Professor Rose's class; his discussions were thought-provoking-- He brought up questions about human behavior and religion that I've wondered about but never had a space to discuss. He is super cool, well-traveled, and attractive.. which can make it hard to focus when you're learning about sex, human nature, and staring at this handsome man

Professor Brandon was awesome! I recommend you take him, if you take him in person make sure to come to class because attendance is mandatory and its easy points. We don't get any class assignments just a midterm and final exam. The only thing I didn't like is he would go over class time sometimes up to 5 minutes but overall he was an amazing!

Enjoyed taking his class. Lectures were based off reading and showed lots of fun interesting videos. If you want an A you have to attend all classes. Does give you two free days if you do need to miss before he takes points off.

Great class, he's funny and doesn't give homework. Attendance points take the place of homework points so don't skip more than the 2 freebies he gives! Exams multiple choice, but make sure you read your textbook!!

Amazing professor, by far my favorite. Super engaging and taught the material so well that I always felt prepared for exams. Attendance is mandatory so be aware of that, however he gives you points for attending class and two freebies to miss class when needed. The only homework ever assigned was reading the textbook.
