Sometimes goes too fast, however for the tests if you use Pearson and go through the homework problems you should do fine. Takes attendance.
Super energetic and enjoys his subject. Uses a lot a real world and current events to bridge concepts. One of the best educators I've taken
really nice dude. go to class, study a little, you will get a solid grade.
Brandon is awesome. He is willing to have a genuine conversation with his students, he respects them, he values their opinion. He takes attendance, but it is for a grade, so go to class. Take this class with B-Sav!
3 tests, a group project, and a final. You can opt out of any of these (I'd recommend the final). Great guy, easy to talk to and get along with. The group project is a case study. It's not near as bad as your typical "group project".
Great Professor. For the test, study the Pearson homework and study plans. Show up to class because he takes attendance daily. Truly cares about students
Very good teacher. He cares about the students and makes the class where if you come and try your hardest you will do good. He is very willing to help you on assingments and he wants to see you succeed. Take Savage for MGMT 421.
I really enjoyed him as my teacher! He wants you to succeed, is super willing to help you inside or outside of class, and is enjoyable. However, he's not just going to hand you an A. You do have to study the concepts and how to do the math problems. There is online homework through Pearson, but its not that hard. It is just time consuming.
Nicest most, helpful professor I have ever had. The class is required, so definitely take it with Savage.
Really nice guy, very flexible, gives clear feedback. An example of being flexible: he let me take my final at a later day in finals week whenever I wanted in his office.
Very cool, laid back guy. Spent most his career in the workforce not teaching, which can sometimes be obvious. He is a funny guy who gives lots of real world examples that relate to your class work. Class can get boring on occasion but the homework and tests are not difficult if you are in class and do a little bit of preparing.
He's very understanding and laid back. All around cool guy. Hasn't been a full time professor before and spent his career in the workforce which shows. As the semester went on however he got significantly better and his prior knowledge and experience helped once he figured out the best way to explain it.
Very professional but also laid back. His ability to read a room is an advantage to students in his class. He knows when to skim easy material and makes it a point to go over difficult material until everyone gets it.
I loved this class!!! Pay close attention to calculations in class and take good notes to do well on calculation exams. For the non-calculation exams, I would highly recommend using the "Study plan" because the questions are very similar! Brandon Savage was an awesome professor with very fair and equitable grading procedures!
Great guy. What I liked about professor Savage is that he understands his students. He's been a great mentor to me. One of the best professors I've had!!
This was a pretty fun class. There is a lot of reading from the book, but it does help. I only say attendance is mandatory because there is so much he covers in class that you should only miss class if it absolutely necessary. The exam reviews are also super helpful!
Mr. Savage is one of my favorite professors I have ever had. While the class can be seemingly difficult sometimes, Mr. Savage is always available to help and goes the extra mile to make sure people understand. He is very considerate when grading and super understanding. The class would be way more challenging if it was not for Mr. Savage.
Brandon is one of the most caring professors I have come across. He knows each of his students by name. He is good about knowing when we don't understand the content and explains it in a way that we are able to process better. Attendance is taken every day, but his classes are enjoyable to sit through.
Attendance is not necessarily mandatory, but I put that because it is part of your grade. This is a teacher who actually cares about his students and wants you to succeed. I really enjoyed having him.
He was new this semester so he took a lot of old material from that last professor, which I didn't like. But Overall he was a great teacher & once he starts making this class his own i think it could be really good. Ops management is boring to me, but he tried to make it interesting at relate it to our own past experiences and possible future ones
Dr. Savage is one of the nicest professors that I have had. He is very accommodating and understanding regarding his students, giving everyone multiple opportunities to ensure that they have understood the material. Exams are challenging, but are all off of the online homework, so as long as you study that, you'll be good.
As for Mr. Savage: super accommodating, super nice guy, who actually cares. He knew all of our names on the first day of class and his cell number is literally on the syllabus. The class is harder than some of the other MANGT 421 classes. But he prepares you and lets you know what will be on the test. Decent amount of homework.
Savage uses powerpoints to guide his lectures, he also records them and posts online if you missed class. Attendance is mandatory unless you email him before then you're excused. The content of the class is not hard and Savage gives great in-class examples.
incredible teacher! really cares about his students and their success. tests are very easy. mainly memorization from the homework. I would definitely take this class again.
Professor Savage is very communicative and flexible. He seems like he really genuinely cares about what his students take away from his class. I have never had a professor that seemed like they cared as much about he does. Highly recommend taking his class.
Attendance counted for points, but if you ever had to miss he was very understanding as long as you communicated with him. He gives you great resources for studying for exams, the best being Mylab and Mastering. The book helps, but isn't necessary because of online resources. He is very quick with relying to emails, etc. One of the best teachers!
This is a great professor. Make sure you study by re-doing the assignments on My-Lab. The questions are very similar or the same. This class is relatively easy and this professor is very nice. Would highly suggest.
If you go to class and do the homework, you will be well set. He does a good job to tell you what to expect for each exam, so if you take the time to study then you will do well.
Homework seems to be in excess, but if this is your major, then it's very helpful to further retain info. Lots of learning if you engage and attend class. Attendance NOT mandatory, but RECOMMENDED! It's so much easier to do homework if you go to class, but if you can figure out the math (only a little) then skipping class won't hurt you.
He is a outstanding teacher, highly recommend to take his class
Brandon was a great professor! I was honestly worried the class would be hard but as long as you show up and pay attention to his lectures/powerpoints you'll do just fine! Make sure to keep up will all the online homework because it will help you for exams. He also posts his powerpoints & recorded lectures online after in case you do miss class!
Mr. Savage is super easy to access outside of class for further questions and is good at making objectives and lectures clear. Read the textbook, follow his chapter outlines, and do the homework and you shouldn't have a problem!
Brandon is the BEST teacher I've had at K-State thus far. If you follow his syllabus and do what is expected, you get exactly what you put in. He is so easy to contact and very approachable. If you email him because you won't be in class - you get attendance points. DO IT. He doesn't care why, just let him know.
Really love Brandon and his class. He really cares that he is teaching well and in a way that students understand. If he notices you struggling he will personally reach out to help. Also, if you study the homework for the tests, they aren't hard! An easy A as long as you do the homework and do a little bit of studying.
If you have the opportunity to take this class with Brandon, I would highly recommend. Personally, I liked all the homework assignment. Sometimes, they were a little repetitive, but they helped me learn and put more grades in the grade book. He understands when he hasn't explained something and takes the time to re-explain in a different way.
Savage is easily one of the best professors at K-State. Go to class and take notes and you will do fine. This class had a ton of homework. Attendance was mandatory but he was very flexible/understanding if you were not going to be present. Best teacher to take for MANG 421.
Great guy who connects better with his students than most. Class isn't too hard at all, especially with all the resources he gives you. I bought the textbook and only opened it once. His posted powerpoints gave more detail anyway.
Great Professor. He is pretty much everything I expect a great professor to be. He is very tech savvy and gives great career advise as he has worked in multiple management positions before.
Very good professor. If you show up to class and take notes you will get a good grade. He is willing to help you out and wants you to learn.
Cares about students & gives them what is needed to succeed in the course. If you show up to class (attendance points), use the outlines provided for notes/exams, and complete the work along the way, you will do fine. Homework is online so you must purchase book; concepts exam is online in class & calculations exam is online at home (open for a wk)
Professor Savage really wants you to learn. This first week was very reading heavy, but it was a short class. The readings help you get better though. His goal is to see you improve, not grade you harshly. Made several online video chats one on one and always quickly answered emails. Quizzes were simple based on the readings.
Professor Savage is great at using real-life experiences and examples in his lectures to make them more interesting. Attendance is graded but if you communicate with him beforehand he is very understanding.
Mr. Savage was a great professor. He genuinely cared about his students, and really great at giving specific feedback. I took an online course with him and he was very easy to get in touch with and you can tell he put a lot of work into the class. You received grades back very quickly.
Great professor, truly knows how to teach, transmits knowledge in an effective way. You have to work a lot in his class but also you learn a lot. Hes accessible outside of the class and understanding. Recommended
Soooooooooooo nice!
Brandon is a great professor! He truly cares and wants you to understand the material and be successful in his class. I would recommend him to anyone!
Mr. Savage is a great teacher. He works with his students.. As long as you email him before class that you won't be there, you get the attendance points. There are 2000 points in the grade book, and the tests are the same questions as the hw. I need a 0 on the final for an A. Super easy and learned a lot.
Brandon Savage is a excellent professor. The resources can be very helpful with the test. The homework and warm-ups can play a big part in the grade. Keep up on it!! The class is worth 2000 points, so a good grade can be made.
Attendance is not really mandatory, but I put that because it is part about 5% of your overall grade. This is a teacher who actually cares about his students and wants you to succeed. I enjoyed taking this course from him.
Awesome professor
Great guy who cares about his students success. Attendance isnt mandatory because he posts recorded lectures but I recommend going. Overall the class isnt hard but stay on top of your grade early if you want the A because the class is out of 2000 points.
He is a great professor and would highly recommend taking his class for MANGT 421. He really understands Operations Management and wants his students to succeed in this course.
Professor savage was a great professor!! If you do the homework and show up to class youll succeed in this class. He really cares about the success of his students and will go the extra mile to help you succeed if you put in the work! Highly recommend taking operation management with him!
Brandon Savage genuinely cares about his students and wants them to succeed and not be in the dark about what is on quizzes and tests. Homework almost every week, but will help a lot on the exams. One of the best professors I have ever had.
Brandon is a solid teacher all around. However, the tests are very tricky in my opinion. He likes to use a lot of choose A, B, A&B, or none. It makes you second guess yourself all the time. The rest of the coursework is pretty simple, do it and you'll at least get a B like me.
Incredible professor that is passionate about management and cares about his students. Makes class exciting and wants us to have a great experience. Lots of points in the class, so tests aren't that heavy. Don't need to buy the book. Show up to class and do the online assignments and you'll have a great semester! Get to know him, he's a great guy!
Overall, great teacher! Easy A if you come to class and pay attention!
Brandon Savage is an unbelievable teacher. He is very caring about his students and outlines his course material very well. He gives you ample opportunities to pass with a quality grade, and is very understanding if you can't make it to class. Just study online homework and you will be fine. 10/10 would recommend Mr. Savage to literally anybody
The best professor I have ever had! Hes super helpful and really cares about his students. The concept exams are fairly easy if you use the study plan on pearson and for quizzes about the goal (the book youll read) he gives you an exact study guide on what will be on the quiz. TAKE BRANDON FOR OPERATIONS MANAGEMENT!!
Savage is a great teacher. Super easy A. 90% of the test questions are from a bank that you have access to so study them beforehand and the tests will be a cake walk. Attendance is for a grade so show up to get points.
This is an easy class, even by business school standards. Undoubtedly an easy A. Professor Savage takes a class that otherwise would be a snooze fest and makes it into an enjoyable class. I also had him for MANGT 421 a while back. He has practical work experience managing others and is always able relate course material to the workplace.
Take his class!! He knows when his students do not understand and will help. He relates his teaching to real life experiences which is very helpful to understand. He is BIG on communication, if you cannot make it to class just email him why and boom, you get points for the day! Spent $130 on books though :/ may not need actual textbook. I used once
Professor Savage is amazing! The class is 2,000 points which has a lot of homework, but the homework is easy. With the class having that many points, it is super easy to get an A! I wouldn't recommend getting the book, you won't need it. Prof. Savage was willing to meet with me and help me whenever I needed it. He makes a boring subject fun!
there's 2,000 points in the grade book so test aren't that heavy. you take an in class portion of the test on concepts which is directly from the learn smart questions then an at home calculations portion. there's about 45 minutes of hw every week or every other week.
Mr. Savage has been one of my favorite business professors, mainly because he makes Operations Management interesting. He applies calculations and concepts to real-life experiences.
Definitely take Savage if you can! Hes super understanding and you will never be unprepared for an exam. He gives you detailed study guides and as long as you do them and understand them, then you are set!
Although the textbook isn't necessarily required, there were a few times where I found it helpful. Maybe get one and share with a friend? Savage is extremely understanding and willing to work with all of his students. He works to prepare all of his students for the business world and their future careers with work ethic and preparedness.
Awesome teacher and such a great guy. You will have a decent amount to do for the class, but it is easy and forgiving. I would highly suggest taking his class.
Great professor. Only downside to the class is paying for MyLab to get access to HW and simulations. Overall, great class for business students and Savage is the professor you want!
Wants to make sure you know Very accommodating Has a specific section in the syllabus about accommodating students with children and breast feeding mothers
One of my favorite professors! Cares about his students over everything. 100% would recommend him over other professors.
I would recommend this professor to anyone interested in taking this course for the business curriculum or just as an elective. It isn't too difficult if you put in the work and he keeps it interesting along the way.
Great professor! He is always there if you have any questions. Whenever a student did not understand he was always there to help a student succeed.
I cannot stress this enough. If you have an opportunity to take a class with Savage, do everything in your power to do so. He's has been by FAR my favorite teacher I've ever had at Kansas State. His information is easy to digest and graded fairly. He is very approachable and gives students plenty of opportunity to success. Take Savage's classes.
One of my favorite instructors at K-State. Follow his methods of how to study and attend class and passing with a high grade is relatively easy.
I loved this class. Brandon was an amazing professor and you can tell he lies what he does and loves teaching kids too. He wants everyone to succeed and has always been there for anything that I might have needed as a student... especially moving to remote learning he worked extremely well with me and my schedule.
Savage is one of the best teachers at K-State and I would highly recommend him for any course. I took him for Operations Management and Supply Chain and he was wonderful. The class itself is fairly complex but he knows how to teach it.
Savage is a fantastic teacher. Class is not mandatory, but you will want to go because he makes class entertaining. He is very kind and understanding. He is one of the best teachers I have ever had. If you want to get an A, he gives you more than enough resources to do that.
He is one of the few teachers who cares more about integrating his course into real life examples rather than learning material to pass the class. Very easy class and a very respectable teacher.
Mr. Savage was a great teacher and I would definitely recommend him.
Overall a great and caring person. I feel like I would have been overwhelmed with this class if I didn't take it with Savage. He taught all of the material really well and made sure everyone was on the same page and understood. I didn't need the book for this class, just make sure you do ALL the homework and show up to class!
Class is mandatory, but Professor Savage understands that students have a life outside of school so as long as you let him know that you wont be in class he will excuse your absence. Homework is easy and helps you with the exams.
Definitely take advantage of the lectures or the textbooks to take notes and you'll have no problem passing this class. He cares a lot about the students and was well prepared for online learning during COVID-19. I plan on taking another course with him.
Mr. Savage was an excellent instructor. He is passionate about being teaching students and wanting them to learn. He is well prepared for each class. The homework takes awhile, but is easy to get a good grade and it helps you not have to do great on tests to finish with an A in the class.
Excellent professor!!!
The best professor in the K-State College of Business.
Savage is the only way to go for Operations Management. He's super chill. A lot of busy work but it's super easy and buffers your grade. No reason to not get an A in this class. Business majors have to take this, so take it with him.
Complete waste! Wouldn't take any class with him again.
Who doesnt love this guy? Listens to students and really knows what he's talking about. The only thing I don't like is that he always makes us pay for the hella expensive online homework program from McGraw Hill
He is very understanding & loves his students. You can tell he loves his job. He makes everything super easy to understand & the grades are easy to get .You HAVE to go to class this is where your grade will benefit from the most. Make sure to show up. There is plenty of homework to help if youre not good with tests too. Make sure to stack up points
A great professor and is always willing to help you no matter what! He does require attendance but his class is engaging so you dont get bored with his lectures. Overall probably the best in the business building.
Brandon is a great teacher and is very understanding. Just email him if you can't make it to class, he will still give you attendance points! I took the ethics course and since it was during the pandemic, the exams were essays which were relatively easy to get a good grade on instead of studying for hours and taking a multiple choice test.
I enjoyed him.
Lectures are meh, work is time consuming, but not difficult.
Mr. Savage is a very helpful and informative professor
He has been the best professor I have had at K-State. This is one of the only classes and professors that has actually prepares you to join the workforce after graduation.
Professor Savage was easily one of my favorite instructors in my college career. He provides you with the materials to succeed, and the work rarely gets overwhelming. Communicate with him if you have issues and he will try to help. Super caring and respectable!!
Mr. Savage is a great professor. He makes the class pretty easy and teaches you lots of things outside of the required classwork. Must have professor.
I loved Savage's class, you need to go to class for participation but he makes class enjoyable.
This was my first semester with Professor Savage, and if I could take all my classes with him I would. He genuinely cares about his students and how theyre doing! If youre feeling particularly stressed or have unexpected life events that pop up, hes more than happy to work with you and figure out a solution. He will do everything he can to help!
Fantastic teacher. Pay attention and you will be just fine. His exams are very fair and he covers all the calculation material in class.
Brandon has done an incredible job of communicating with his students and maximizing learning during a pandemic. He is super easy to talk to and you can tell he cares a ton about his students. There are quite a few assignments, but they are nothing to fret about as they give you ample opportunities to improve your grade.
Savage is a great professor to take if you are willing to put in the bare minimum and communicate. He is willing to work with students and did great with helping with external issues. The class itself was somewhat material heavy, but if you stay on track with the readings and pay attention to the material it is a breeze.
Amazing professor!
Honestly one of the best instructors Ive had at K-state
You can really tell that Brandon Savage cares about his students and wants them to learn as well. If I ever had an issue, I knew I could reach out to him and he would be understanding and willing to help.
Brandon Savage does a great job making sure that you know the material before moving on. He wants his students to succeed and doesn't want to leave you in the dust. I would recommend him any day and would say he has been one of the best professors I have had. Just do your homework, and you will pass.
Brandon is such a good professor, one of the best at K-State. He tries so hard to make sure his students understand the materials, even if they aren't management majors. He's fairly accessible outside class and answers most questions well. The homework is on Pearson and pretty simple, more than one try to get it right and mostly multiple choice.
Homework for every chapter consists of a Warm-Up usually around 30 questions and then a Homework assignment of about 20 questions. Pro Tip for when you have simulations attend the class a day or two before and he literally will walk you through the simulations because they can be a little tough. The Goal book that you read is actually interesting!
Professor Savage is truly one of the best at K-State. His classes require some effort but his policies are super fair and clear. He is also incredibly understanding and cares about your learning experience more than anything. He's very knowledgeable about his industry and has even influenced me towards a path in supply chain management! A true GOAT
Very easy class. Grade is mainly test heavy, but the tests are super easy.
Great teacher, Brandon wants you to succeed, learn, and genuinely wants you to do well in his class.
Brandon Savage is the best professor I have ever had in my 4 years at Kansas State. 10/10! He is an outstanding teacher and knows how to present the lectures in an easy to follow manner. The course I took is called Intro to Operations Management and Supply Chain. This is definitely a class I loved to go to and would take again!
Savage is a great professor and really cares about his students. He's really knowledgeable and a great guy to have in your corner for making connections. He knows what he is talking about and is more than willing to meet with you outside of class at any time. Super responsive to emails and questions. Group project kinda sucks though.
Great professor. He is very understanding when it comes to knowing his students have lives outside of the classroom. Very knowledgeable about the industry and is happy to help with any questions you have. Lectures are easy to understand and laid back.
Savage is one my favorite Professors so far at KSU. I recommend him to all of my friends because of his excellent lectures. Do the homework assignments and do decent on the exams and you should be able to get a good grade.
Professor Savage is a great teacher. He actually cares about your learning and is always willing to help. If you just keep up with your assignments, pay attention in class, and ask questions you should do well in the class.
Professor Savage is a great professor and is very understanding and caring. There can be a lot of hw at times but only if you leave it all for the last minute. Other than that, if you pay attention in class and do the work, it is an easy A!
This is the second class I've been fortunate enough to take with Professor Savage and I couldn't recommend him more! The class was all quizzes and then one final at the end. The book is necessary as all reading and assignments are done through McGraw-Hill.
Definitely one of the best professors at K-State. He makes the lectures interesting and helps relate a lot of content to real world applications.
Great instructor, do the work and you'll pass
The lectures can be ok, except usually they don't pertain to the exams or the homework. Lots of reading and homework. Also expect to spend about a quarter of the lectures learning useless Excel commands. Savage is nice and all, just doesn't connect the lectures to what you actually need to know to pass the class with a good grade. Very frustrating.
Professor Savage truly cares about his students! He works with you and truly want you to succeed. There is quite a bit of homework but if you stay on top of it, it's not bad. I would recommend!
Professor Savage is a very thoughtful professor who actually cares about his students' passing unlike many in today's secondary Ed. While yes this class would be called "Easy" if you don't show up, expect a poor grade, expect more reading and a larger chunk of homework; however prof. Savage will help you and you will actually retain this material.
Savage does a great job at trying to let every student have a voice in the class to ask him for help and extra emphasis on material his lectures are nice and to the point my only complaint is the outside reading of the goal it just seems kinda useless if you ask me other than that great teacher super funny and nice.
I have had him last fall for Mangt 421 and took him again this fall for Mangt 553 because he is such an awesome professor. He is the most caring professor and wants you to succeed in his class while also learning the material. If the pay attention during lectures and apply yourself you will get a good grade! 10/10 recommend!!!
Mr. Savage is probably the best teacher I have had here at KSU. Definitely takes the time to tailor the material and schedule to students and is very lenient when it comes to deadlines, etc. I've taken Engineering courses that covered the same material as this class, and Mr. Savage presented it 10x better. Just do the assignments and its an easy A.
This is by far my favorite professor I've ever had between three different college/universities of and on over the past several years. He is caring, wants to see us succeed, and gives great feedback on assignments. The case scenarios throughout the semester are interesting and thought provoking. They're great in prep for the workforce.
The class is a good introductory course. It's not stressful and the lectures are relatively enjoyable.
If you need to take MANGT 421 Prof. Savage is a must! He makes the class as interesting as he can. He will always work with you if you have any concerns and overall is really caring. When I took it, the classes had also a zoom option and even if you missed class you can watch the recordings afterward. As long as you go to class, you should be fine
One of the best teachers I've had. Very knowledgable over course material. is lenient and understanding with late work. Classwork is pretty simple and easy quite honestly. Makes it very clear within the first few classes that he genuinely cares about his students and he wasn't joking. Highly recommend.
He does a great job of being fair and flexible while still expecting everyone to do the work. This is an easy A/B if you just put in the time and effort. He explains everything well and the format is well put together. Watch his lectures, do the work, and enjoy learning.
Mr. Savage's class is incredible! He is very understanding and flexible and will always work with you in any situtaion. There is a fair amount of homework but it is very manageable. Tests are very similar to the homework and he goes out of his way to prepare you as best as possible for tests, quizzes, and projects. No excuse for not getting an A.
Overrated, cares more about being liked than real teaching.
Fantastic professor that really cares about his students success. 10/10
Nice guy. Have nothing negative to say about him. Lectures are clear and to the point. I hope he continues to teach for a while!
Professor Savages class is one of the most enjoyable classes I have taken. As someone who isn't very interested in Supply Chain he made it very accessible for everyone to get an A in the class. It's really not that hard and the tests are online open book/open note. The workload is very minimal. His format allows to be taken online also.
Loved being in his class this spring. Extremely fine tuned course. Does not even compare to the other prof teaching this course. Everything is online and can tune in by zoom. Course is built to be challenging but a good grade is very achievable for anyone who listens to the lectures. HW is a bit tedious but makes sense. Lots of good examples/advice
I thought this class was a great class and learned a lot. Professor is very understanding and if you need help he is willing to help you without question. Homework can sometimes get to be a lot but it is attainable to get it done. Make sure to follow along with excels to use for calculation exams!
Professor Savage was a great instructor. I appreciated his continued hybrid setup for the course allowing flexibility with last minute appointments or responsibilities. Somewhat of a lot of assignments however nothing overly complicated. Projects were fun. Interesting read of "The Goal". Definitely would take a course by him again.
Savage is a 10/10 professor! Super accessible and understands when personal things come up. Weekly quizzes, but no exams. Just communicate with him and you'll be just fine.
Professor Savage is by far my favorite professor in the College of Business! He makes you want to come to class and learn the material. This class isn't necessarily an "easy A", but if you engage in class and do all the work then there is no reason you shouldn't do well. I'm taking another class with Professor Brandon Savage next semester:)
One of the best professors I've had at K-State. His class is set up so well and he is super accommodative to his students' needs.
Savage is very willing to help students outside the classroom and is very straightforward with what is required in the class. One of the best professor's I've had at KSU so far.
Gave option of in person or online which made it very helpful to stay home when sick.
If you ever get the chance to take a class with professor Savage, DO IT. He is the single most caring professor who takes your personal life matters as seriously as his class. I had encountered severe medical issues and he worked with me on due dates and was very available when needed. Every time I have the chance to take his class I will.
Great course, okay amount of homework, great professor, makes class fun and enjoyable. Would recommend to anyone!
Professor Savage is very helpful and accommodating when it comes to questions about assignments or grades. It is clear that he does his best to help his students succeed in his courses.
He is super kind and genuinely cares about all of his students deeply. Lectures are amazing and very fine-tuned as he takes into consideration student feedback heavily. Some assignments seem repetitive and unnecessary but overall an amazing class.
Professor Savage could be one of the most understanding professors on campus, he relates to you on a personal level. Class is always optional if you think you can pass his class without coming he will wave your attendance. His tests are practical and open book because he believes in the business world you will always have access to materials.
I absolutely loved taking this class with Prof Savage! His lectures are great and the coursework isn't bad at all. Just stay on top of your work and you'll be fine. He also is good at emailing back and allowing extensions if you ask before the due date.
This professor gives you a lot of work through out the week, but his class is very flexible with zoom options when needed for students. Also, he provides very real-life examples and shares his experience which helps make the class more relateable.
Professor Savage is by far one of the easiest going professors I have ever had. Very easy going and willing to help in any way he can. The class has a couple of assignments that take up a bit of time but they are due at the very end of the semester. Once homework is given, I would suggest work on it as soon as possible for time sake.
He is very flexible and understanding of students. He will work with you as long as you are trying and will work with him.
Professor Savage is a great instructor. He is clear and concise on what is required of you, patient, and will explain things several times over when someone keeps asking for clarification. You know exactly what is required of you at the beginning of the course so that you can plan your semester accordingly. Hands down, would take again!
Professor Savage does a great job structuring his course(s) in a way that makes it easy for students to learn. I wish that I could take all of my classes with him as he understands that students have a life outside of class and makes the material easily accessible if you're not able to make it in person. Would definitely recommend Professor Savage.
He was able to teach the material in a easy to understand manner and if you do not understand a topic he is very understanding and tries to help you in any way he can.
I enjoyed professor Savage's class because he treated you like the real world. As long as you messaged him, your attendance could be excused. He also provided zoom for every class which helped me learn more because I attended more class. There were a lot of connect assignment each week. It is a very manageable class, just stay on top of your work.
As long as you turn your work in you will get an A in the class. Teacher is very flexible.
Gives the option to take class via zoom which helped with flexibility. Very understanding of outside things that come up prohibiting attendance. Gives alternate participation points.
HIGHLY RECOMMEND! By far my favorite professor in the college of business. He works in the industry, too so he is very knowledgeable in his field. Participation can have an effect on your grade, but only if you miss most of the lectures. He will excuse you from classes if you let him know beforehand.
Savage is easily the best professor I have had. He cares so much about his students and truly wants everyone to succeed. He will work with you if you miss an assignment or class. He uses McGraw Hill so be familiar with that. Very knowledgeable about supply chain.
Stay on top of assignments and you can easily get an A. I recommend this professor for someone who has good time management. Assignments may take some time but are not very challenging.
Super simple class. We would have a textbook reading due first thing Monday, and then the rest of the work due Sunday which was super manageable. His lectures were very informative, and every Wednesday he would walk through the calculation homework problems due Sunday which honestly helped me so much. He is very understandable and caring.
The class is heavily online assignments, with calculations and concept problems due each week. In this semester, we have never taken a test, which is totally fine with me. Brandon is an extremely understanding professor and tries to connect with his students on a personal level, would not recommend any other teacher for this class!
Professor Savage is a great professor and very caring of all of his students. Although the class has a lot of homework assignments every week they are fairly easy and make sure to attend class because he takes attendance. But this class was awesome and I very much would recommend taking this course with Professor Savage.
Mr. Savage is a very nice and out going man, however as a instructor he is lacking. I can recall two occasion where an entire class period was used to elaborate on a anecdote about Chick-fil-A, not two separate anecdotes but the same anecdote for both classes.
Mr. Savage is a great guy and as an instructor he has a lot of real world experience. He uses stories to show how he used concepts we were talking about in class to show how this can be used in real life situations. The simulations in the class are important to do as you are assigned them as you may be overwhelmed later if you wait to complete them
Super easy going professor, assigns about 3 assignments a week. Get them done ahead of time and you'll do great.
I followed Professor Savage from a previous class. I would take him for every single class in my educational career if I could. Simply put, Brandon is the model for modern education.
This class was awesome! There were no tests, only quizzes weekly that were open note, open book. He also has recorded lectures, and the option to attend on Zoom every day. There are a few assignments to do per week but they are not extremely time-consuming. Even the final was a take-home open book open note exam . Take Supply Chain with Brandon!
Savage is really understanding and flexible. He has relevant work experience that he relates to the lectures. There are 3-5 homework assignments per week but there weren't any tests so it balances out. There is a novel with quizzes but he gave the page number for each answer. He walks you through all of the calculation assignments so you understand
There are several assignments due each week but for the most part are all easy. Only bad thing about this course was doing POM projects, which can be tedious.
The class has about four assignments a week but everything you do is unlimited attempts. He also goes over each assignment in depth so they are not difficult. There are no tests besides the final which is open book. Attendance is taken daily but he allows students to zoom in everyday if they choose. 100% recommend taking this class with Mr. Savage.
Super awesome professor, honestly one of the best! There are no tests in this course just quizzes. He also really cares about his students which is a plus plus.
Definitely one of the best professors I've ever had at Kstate. He treats you like an adult and understands when life happens and you can't make it to class. He was also great about making the class beneficial to us and not just busy work for a grade.
Professor Savage is probably the most caring, easy going, and realistic professor I have ever had. I have had him for a couple classes and he is always understanding of real life and has expectations like any boss or manager would in a real life scenario. Take any and all classes you can from him.
Took Mgmt553 In the spring of 2023. Great course and instructor- the rating speak for themselves. He is an extremely kind instructor that cares about all of his students profusely and makes the class worthwhile and beneficial.
I would definitely take another class with Savage. He is so passionate about his classes and is such a good communicator outside the class. I recommend taking a class with him.
A little heavy on busy work, but overall is fine
Brandon Savage is a great professor with a very flexible attendance schedule though there is a grade for it.
Out of all of the professors that are available to take Supply Chain Management, Professor Savage is by far the best. He is incredibly intelligent and has real-world experience that he relates to the class. He cares tremendously about ensuring his students are understanding the material. Attendance is mandatory, but zoom is always an option!
MANGT 561 - Transportation and Warehouse Management. Instructor Savage is a great teacher that communicates very well with students. He had many guest speakers through the semester that added a lot of value to the course. Grading was very fair, and attendance was necessary, but could be done online or in-person.
Professor Savage has been my favorite Professor. I've had him in 3 classes and he's very passionate about his work and always willing to help his students. He communicates well so we understand the expectations. He also does really well at relating his teachings to real life situations to help prepare students for the work life outside of college.
Professor Savage is still the best. Taken his classes before and I will continue to. This course was pretty easy with mostly busy work and online lectures.
Zoom flexibility was the best. He knows a LOT about what he is teaching and has great examples to help learn the subjects in an easy to understand way.
I took this class online and I loved it. I learned a bunch and Savage did a really good job teaching the course even via zoom. Attendance is graded, which makes you actually watch the videos. He is very quick to respond to emails and questions. Above all, Savage wants you to succeed and will do whatever he can to help make that happen.
Brandon Savage is the best professor I've had. He really wants you to do well in his class and he makes the lectures interesting. He allows you to join the class via zoom even if you chose an in-person class. He is flexible and the homework is super easy, you have unlimited attempts. There is only one exam which is the final. Don't procrastinate!
Savage is one of K-State's best Business professors, definitely take his class no matter which course it is
Brandon is very flexible and allows you to be on zoom rather than in person. The assignments are easy and he explains them well since he has a diverse background of knowledge. Prob the best class to take at k-state
Very caring teacher who uses his resources and knowledge to make class enjoyable, rather than just handing you assignments. Take him
Mr. Savage is hands down the best teacher in the school of business. I wish I could've taken this class in person, as I think I would've got more out of it, but nonetheless Savage did a great job of explaining how the course would go. We had one huge group project and some weekly assignments, but nothing unfair. Would absolutely recommend Savage.
Professor Savage is HIM
Absolutely loved Brandon. You can tell he cares about students and is very flexible. Even though he uses McGraw Hill slides his lectures are still very interesting. 10/10 would recommend.
Very fun and engaging I had a great time in his class and it was something I looked forward to every M,W,F. attendance is technically mandatory because you get points for it but he gives students the option to join via zoom call or attend in person! I learned a lot and I even use some stuff I learned in a recent job interview!
Savage is such a great professor, and I would recommend him to all!
Professor Savage is fantastic - he's passionate, flexible, and truly wants you to succeed. Lectures are engaging even with McGraw Hill slides. Attendance is mandatory but the workload is manageable. Unstuck ai was a big help for study prep.
This class is very approachable by students with almost any engagement type. If you watch or attend every lecture you will succeed in the class. My biggest suggestion is just to not let the loose deadlines get you into trouble by falling behind but you have every opportunity to catch up if that does happen.
Professor Savage is a great teacher. You can attend classes in person, via zoom, or watch a prerecorded lecture. There are no exams in class and your final project revolves around a field trip taken over dead week. I would definitely recommend zoom lectures.
Brandon Savage is hands down the best instructor I've had at K-State. I am a junior, and it's refreshing to finally have a teacher that genuinely cares about his students and their success. Everyone in the College of Business needs to take at least one class with him!
Professor Savage is one of the best teachers at K-State. He made it so you could do the work at your own pace and he was always willing to help if you didn't understand. Attendance was required but not strict, so you could zoom in if you couldn't be in person. As long as you communicated, he was understanding.
Second time taking a class with Professor Savage. Hands down the best professor at the university and recommend him to anyone who might have to take any of his classes
Second class I've taken with Professor Savage. Class is really easy if you stay on time with assignments, always willing to help if you're struggling or don't understand. Uses lots of real world experiences to explain material and make it easy to understand. Hands down the best professor I've had in my 4 years.
Best professor ever. Makes learning so enjoyable.
Hands down one of the best professors I've had, assignments are straightforward and easy. He is very understanding and as long as you complete the work and show up to class you will get a good grade.
He is a very solid professor who will teach you well and will not bore you at all. He made it very easy to pay attention and we got to go on a field trip. Very good professor.
One of the best instructors I've had in college. Highly skilled in communication and always willing to answer questions in class or by email. At the start of the semester, they proactively reviewed and implemented my accommodations to ensure I had an equal opportunity to succeed. 100/100
A lot of assignments, but they're all well taught and easy to complete. Super nice guy who truly cares about his students and will give you multiple opportunities to improve your grade. Would not stress taking this course with him at all!
