Prof Youngblood relatively young and is new to SCC. We used OpexStax Textbook, which was digital and FREE, so that was good. Lectures are straight forward with terms from readings. Our class was during summer session so it was only 6 weeks and We had quizzes each week and a Thought Paper every 2 weeks. He's plays PokemonGo!
Amazing, fun class. You get what you want to get out of it
He showed mercy! gave good lectures, and was lenient on due dates. has passion and is very involved. If you propose ideas on how he can make a better curriculum he takes and works with the class to see if it would be possible.
Great professor, lenient on due dates, will work with you if you have a problem with scheduling. Just make sure that you stay on top of the quizzes, papers, and project. Textbook is free!
Amazing Professor he really cares about his students and you could tell he is very passionate about Psych. Quizzes weekly, but they aren't hard if you review his lectures. He is super funny and I was really interested in his class which was a night class and I HATE night classes. If you have the opportunity to take him please do!
great teacher, great human being, intresting lectures
I would recommend him! He is an awesome and chill professor and enjoyed his Psych class ALOT! Definitely would take this class again!
Youngblood is probably one of the best professors I've ever had. It's a late class at the West Sac Center but, he always makes it fun and interesting. The papers are clear and easy & all the quizzes are all online! He's very VERY understanding & chill. I wish he taught more Psych classes, I'd take them!
Youngblood was an amazing professor, I will miss his class. I have learned a lot and I highly recommend him to future students. He brings energy and joy to the class. He helps you understand and he praises students who really care. There should be more professors like him. I am an international student who works and still managed to do good.
This was an awesome class. The professor is super easygoing, it's easy to receive a good grade. No stressing out. There are online quizzes, 4 thought papers, group presentation, and exam. TAKE HIS CLASS, YOU WON'T REGRET IT!
Best professor at SCC. Take his class you will not regret it. He is very caring and passionate about psych. Lectures were interesting. You do have to work for your grade, but if you stay on track and take good notes it'll be a breeze. Quizzes online weekly, 4 thought papers that are not too bad, and a group project which is somewhat difficult.
If you want to take online class but still come to class then he is your teacher his lectures suck dose not cover the material needed for the weekly online quiz that he grades to tough on considering he talks all class period of nothing that has to do with the course.
Pretty cool/funny guy. Go to class! he goes over quizzes! Shows really interesting psyc videos. 1 group project. 3-4 papers(1-2 are extra cred). Mainly multiple choice chapter quiz each week. Lectures in class. Everything else done online. free online textbook! super lenient on due dates just communicate! Great class would def take prof Y again!!
Class is poorly organized, work is very little and then all at once. But the professor is great. Good guy, really laid back, very understanding.
Prof. Youngblood is super easy going and chill. Quizzes are once a week, but are online so you can use his powerpoints. I had a hard time getting into Psych, but he made it fun. Choose him, you won't regret it!
Youngblood turned out to be my favorite professor. I really appreciated that he focused more on actually learning rather than getting caught up with due dates or organization. He seems very passionate about teaching and psychology. Great teacher, would take class from again.
I would definitely take his class again . It was really informative. All the quizzes are online and one group project. He is very lax and easy going . Take this teacher you will not be sad.
I rated this professor before but realize I gave an inaccurate description. He is very laid back and easy going about a lot of things, which is great, but his class is incredibly stressful. He let us take our finals in groups which was amazing. However, he can be incredibly condescending and patronizing. Take class with caution.
Class was simple and organized in the beginning, then became almost unmanageable at the end. Too many assignments piling together at the end. Harsh critic. Kinda comes off condescending. Made me not want to share my experiences that contributed to the discussion anymore because he dismissed some of our claims. Need lots of free time for group work.
Loved his class. Very engaged with the students.
Mr. Youngblood was great. While the class was a traditional-style class, all of the quizzes and assignments excluding the final were on Edmodo. He's super flexible on due dates, and there's a ton of extra credit available. He doesn't grade very harshly on papers (I think the lowest grade I got on one was 55/60). I'd highly recommend taking him.
Super chill guy + understanding with due dates just communicate. 3 Short essays in APA. Weekly chapter exams. 1 Major group project + group paper. Some Extra credit! Pay attention in class, do all your work and you'll be fine. Funny guy! But slack and you wont pass!
A passionate teacher of psychology. 100% (minus the final) is electronic. Take thorough notes of his lectures - they help on the weekly quizzes. Professor is flexible with due dates - communicate what you need. He encourages thoughtful dialog in class. Attendance is mandatory to do well. Really enjoyed his class and teaching style.
Professor Youngblood makes the class so interesting. He is really passionate about the subject. To get an A or B in this class finish all your essays and homework on time. Make sure to do all the extra credit assignments.
This was maybe the most interesting 3-hour class I've had. To be honest, it was not an easy class, but I was enjoying doing my homework. The teacher was very honest and clear of what he was teaching. The lecture goes not only by talking, but he's also showing interesting videos examples, to make sure we understand the topic clearly. Great Professor!
He would confuse our class with the others that he taught and thought he thought us a certain topic but he didnt. Very hard to keep up when he doesnt keep tract on what he is teaching. This was a once a week class on Saturday. Luckily the exams were online. Got a B+
Youngblood is super easy teacher who doesn't care about peoples personal problems. It is super easy to pass as long as you share answer tests and share the answers with people. One big group project is due and will be a bit hard but everything will be easy.
Super easy class. Need to take notes and listen to his lecture. Papers are easy. One major group project towards the end of the semester. If you do your work you'll pass. Finals was a breeze.
Professor Youngblood is amazing!! Very knowledgeable and gives extremely interesting lectures about class material. Definitely stays in great communication with all of his students and is there to answer any questions or concerns about the class or assignments. He is a MUST take, you will not be disappointed.
Overall the class was fair. He mainly lectured with videos and power points. HW and quizzes are online. The biggest issue was the group project. He didn't provide clear instructions on what exactly he was looking for and docked the entire class 50 points because of it. Make sure to ask him to clarify what he wants on the project.
If you go to class and do all of your work you will pass! Make sure to do all of the extra credit, and before the final he will give you all of the questions/answers and records himself to help you study. Study all the parts of the brain & what they do. Ask him if you have questions he will help you, there is a quiz every Sunday!
Class is very lecture based but worth every second. He uses time wisely, loves to talk about currents issues, its a social psych class so you should be ready for that. Weekly journals about textbook topics and current events. Textbook will definitely be used esp for quizzes. We watch a lot of videos that reinforce the material and really help you.
I Enjoyed Professor Youngblood class made the lectures very interested. He is very helpful .I highly recommended taking him.
He is a good professor. Has a liberal standpoint on a lot of social issues. Tests are all online except the final. Makes learning about the brain and behavior interesting. Not a super boring class, would probably take it again. He also offers easy extra credit that I would have done if I wasn't lazy.

Youngblood doesnt want the PSCHY department to get shut down so, if you need to fulfill any general education requirements this class is an easy A. It will look good on your transcript, but you wont learn anything especially if you already taken sociology class.
Took a fast track class and he was so chill and awesome. He is super helpful and really cares about his students and wants them to suceed
Overall a great teacher. Had some great in class conversations!
I took this class over the summer and was dreading it. Turned out to be really interesting and very informative. He knows his stuff and is very clear on what is expected. He has a great sense of humor and makes each class worth going to. He does give some in class assignments so try not to miss any classes.
He will give you opportunities and he is a caring teacher but you need to be on top of your stuff for him to help you.
As long as you show up for class, take notes, do your weekly quizzes and 3 papers, you will get a good grade in this class as long as you work hard on your assignments. He is one of the best professors Ive had in college so far! Loved his class
Lectures were very eye-opening, and helped me to better understand human nature and behaviors. The weekly quizzes were great at allowing me to recall information without too much stress, and the periodic thought papers required me to do extensive research into many though-provoking and interesting topics.
He is a GREAT professor. His lectures make you think and they are very informative. He gives weekly quizzes but they are not hard if you do your chapter reading. You should attend all class lectures because they will make your quizzes and thought papers easier. We had 3 thought papers and they were not that hard. He gives extra credit too.
Prof. Youngblood is very knowledgeable in his field and also a very cool guy. His class was one of the best I've taken at Sac City because he's able to make the subject interesting with the class engagement he does so well. Definitely recommend taking his class if you have any interest in psych at all, because I guarantee you'll learn a lot.
A very fun course that I would easily take again. Professor is pretty lenient very helpful when you ask for things aswell enjoyable lectures.
Mr. Youngblood has amazing lectures that are very clear and inspiriting. Pay attention and engage in class lectures and youll do fine. I would highly recommend taking him for Psychology 300.
Attendance is key to this class in my opinion. You get a lot of the answers to quizzes through lectures, videos, and discussions. A couple papers, but nothing crazy. You can tell professor Youngblood cares about his teachings and students, he wants to see you succeed. I enjoyed taking his class, professor Youngblood is a great teacher!
Whatever you do take this class, Professor Youngblood is a very knowledgeable and makes the class very interesting with the discussions. You want to show up to this class, he is very understanding and considerate towards his students making it a better learning environment, he wants you to learn more than you would stress within the class.
If you are planning to take psychology 300 he is the best professor. He is caring and approachable to the class. He made the course easy and interesting. He is knowledgeable and compassionate with the course. I am happy that he is my professor and I wish all the professor is like him.
Mr. Brandon Youngblood is an energetic professor. His best quality is his ability to get students engaged and thinking deeply about psychological concepts. The textbook is up to date and written by the psychology department at Stanford University. The teacher Provides the textbook!!! The classes should be longer.
Mr. Youngblood has been an overall great professor. He actually teaches you a lot of things but still keeps the class fun. There are weekly quizzes, so it is recommended you have good attendance. Hes a fun and caring guy that overall has taught me not only life lessons but has given me a different outlook on life.
One of the best professors I've ever had. If you go to class and do the work you can easily get an A. He also tries to help students in getting a higher grade. Provides extra credit and the final was in groups and we went through the final questions before hand. He makes lectures fun too and you get to learn about a lot of interesting concepts.
Every class has notes but Professor Youngblood really makes lectures eye opening. If you want to talk about controversies, this professor is perfect. He has an open mind and doesn't mind showing you his views.
Textbook is free and online. He is very passionate about psychology and willing to help anytime. He makes learning fun and non-stressful. Offers extra credit and his lectures are super intriguing.
Awesome professor, very well prepared us for final with a full week of focusing on studying every question on it! Small quiz every week but nothing crazy, Dont chicken out on the final, you might be pleasantly surprised on how he lets you take it!!
I took this course as a prerequisite and I loved it. While I found the subject to be very interesting, I have no doubt having Mr. Youngblood as my professor played a big role in my understanding and success. He is an example to follow as he strives on providing a stress-free learning environment and giving students the necessary tools to succeed...
This is a continuation of my initial post earlier today. Professor Youngblood is fair, offers online textbook and is willing to go the extra mile for his students success. This course and his passion for psychology had such a great impact on me that I decided to take Social Psych this fall with Professor Youngblood of course. Easy A if you try.
Professor Youngblood is literally one of the best professors I've had. He cares about his students and as long as you do your work and participate you'll do great. He says "this class will be stressless" which isn't a figure of speech, he means it. 10/10 would recommend this course for anyone looking to learn, think, and not add more stress.
Prof. Youngblood is great. He's caring, expresses himself very well, and always available to students if they need anything. Gives great lectures, very thorough, and most of all he wants to see all his students pass. We had to transition online unfortunately, but he handled it really well. I would definitely take him again!
I am continuing from a previous rating, but another important thing about Prof. Youngblood is that you really need to put in your work. It's not an insane amount of work, it's average, but I have been getting work done on time and being thorough on my homework, which is why I got an A. It's all about participation and insight on homework!
Great teaching skills and truly cares about his students!
Honestly, my favorite class & teacher. I learned so much in a short period of time, but everything that I learned, was so interesting. He also offers a lot of extra credit opportunities which I appreciate! I bought the textbook but never opened it. I felt like everything I learned, was well taught in lectures. :)
My favorite teacher I have ever had for psychology. He gives engaging lectures that are relevant and easy to understand. He did an excellent job transitioning our class to online learning. He recorded podcasts based on his PowerPoints for easy notetaking and checked in with us on a weekly basis through Canvas. I'd highly recommend taking him.
Professor Youngblood is one of the most caring professors you could ever have. Really supportive of his students with great lectures.
Professor Youngblood made social psychology really interesting and fun to learn. We had to transition from lecture to online because of cover-19 but he was very understanding towards assignments. One of the best teacher at scc!
Because of Covid-19, this class was completely online, but it is a really good class. I got a lot of amazing feedback on my essays which helped me resolve and improve things. Would definitely recommend taking this class!
Great experience taking this class online with Professor Youngblood. He seems very passionate about his teaching and always gives feedback on papers that you submit. Just don't push everything off until the night it is due because it can be a lot sometimes.
He is a great teacher. Gives feedback, which really helps. If you put in the work you will get the grade you deserve.
great teacher just expect to read a bit and write as well but he always provides feedback and advice.
Professor Youngblood really cares for his students and always encourages we email him if we have any questions. He gives feedback for almost every discussion/paper, which is really helpful because they are pretty difficult. Plus the textbook was free! I 100% recommend him:)
Prof Youngblood is definitely a good professor and did an extremely good job teaching this course. There is a paper every week and some quizzes which shouldnt take too long to complete. He preps you a lot for his final and has very informative coursework. Loved this class a lot!
Honestly, he is a nice guy who seems like the kind of person you would get along with. But in terms of school, no way. My friend took psych 300 from a different professor he had one essay to write for the whole semester. If you take this class be prepared to write 3 4 paged essays. This was not an easy B to earn.
I can't emphasize this enough. Take Prof Youngblood's class! This is how education is meant to be.
Great professor. He really lays all the work for you to go over each each to properly prepare for your weekly quizzes. Do the work and you will get a good grade. There are a couple papers but they are not that big of a deal. Overall, you should take this professor and this class with out a doubt.
Make sure you are taking Professor Youngblood. He is a great professor, he emails back fast. As long as you go over the lecture slide, watch the videos, and include what is asked of you in your papers you will be very successful. If you don't take Professor Youngblood then your trippin.
Such a great professor! I recommend!
The best psych Professor. I took him all online because of covid and he is so helpful and understanding. He really provides so much help and resources to ensure that you succeed. He is just a great Professor I wish all of my Professors were like him.
Prof. Youngblood cares about this course and he believes in what he is teaching, it shows. His class expectations are very clear from the beginning and he offers many resources, I used only the resources given and I received an A in the class. Offers extra credit and is very responsive to emails for guidance. Absolutely take this class!
Great teacher. He graded assignments fairly and is a super understanding person, The class was overall very interesting. Make sure you look carefully at your APA Formatting though. He's pretty strict on that.
Professor Youngblood really cares about all his students and makes himself available however he can. He gave quizzes at the end of every week, unless we had an essay due (3 total), but they were easy and all the information was on the slides he gives at the beginning of each module. He even reviewed all the questions on the final exam.
This class was taken online due to covid, professor Youngblood made it very easy to manage the workload, and even though he did not have zoom meetings to teach, and did not make us read dense material, he provided so many videos to explain everything we needed to learn and more, along with being very straightforward with what he wanted you to do.
Professor Brandon was a very caring and understandable person, he reopened assignments that I had missed due to my father passing away and he extend another day for me after the final day of grading. He want all his students to start and finish strong. If I have to, I'll retake professor Brandon again.
One of my favorite professors! I'm very happy to have taken this class during covid; I felt like it definitely helped get me through mentally because he was so positive & caring towards his students. His quizzes/exams/papers make you think outside of the box, but he gives great feedback. Def use the PowerPoints he provides and take notes on videos
Hes cool, but I dont like how he makes the deadline for the quizzes to be on Sunday before 3PM. I hate essays. Theres going to be a few reflection journals that you have to do that are 3+ pages required. .
This professor is very good. If your not understanding something he will give you feedback and hell give you more time if he sees you are trying your hardest. If you help yourself hell help you too.
Professor Youngblood is a great teacher, he knows what he is talking about in his lectures and in his videos for certain assignments. He really does care about this generations mental health. Although at times some of the papers can be a bit overwhelming, it is worth it in the end. Highly recommend taking this class!
A very dedicated professor who infuses his passion for the topics into his presentations and gives thoughtful assignments.
Just an AWESOME professor. Really passionate about his class and very supportive. Understand that we all have busy lives and is willing to work with you. TAKE HIS CLASS!!!!! You will not regret it.
I greatly enjoyed this class. Especially online, I got to take the quizzes and tests when I wanted to. I love the way it was taught and learned a lot more than I thought I would!
This was my first college course after being out of high school for over 10 years, Prof Youngblood made me feel confident and I truly had an incredible experience taking his online course, I only wish I got the chance to learn from him in person. He provides great additional content and I recommend watching everything he suggests.
I took Professor Youngblood's PSYC300 class in Spring of 2021 and I recommend his class 100%. You definitely have to put in work and he even provides a textbook so you don't need to buy one. He's truly a good teacher who's passionate about what he teaches and you'll definitely learn so many cool things if you try. There's no getting around him!
Love this Professor! If you need this class, this is the Professor you want! Everything was so easy and straightforward. Gives you a week to complete assignments. He gives the answers to the final. His essays are easy and more personal to write. He's always online to chat with and reach out to for help. Everything was easy and would take him again!
Very good teacher who is very passionate about his work. He is always willing to help and cares about his students succeeding. There is definitely a lot of reading from his power points but the tests are open so they're not super difficult if you prepare. If you have the chance to take Youngblood I would definitely recommend him.
Youngblood is a great professor. He clearly cares about the topics he is talking about and is very easy to communicate with. I took this as a summer course and the work was easy to balance with two other classes. He provides a review for the final which I highly recommend you look at, and would definitely recommend Youngblood for future students.
Professor Youngblood is such a Good teacher, who knows how important it is to connect with students. He answer my concerns right way. Thank you Professor for making psychology an interesting subject for me. It is all because of you, that I started loving psychology. I am honored to have you as my teacher.
Such a great professor. Grades fairly, if you ever need help, he is available to chat. He is understanding that life gets in the way sometimes so he is pretty flexible with writing assignments. The powerpoints have all the info for the tests so as long as you take notes, you will do fine. Best professor I've had by far!
I loved this (summer) course and professor! You do need to work for your grade in this class, but the topics are so interesting that it doesn't make it hard at all! Youngblood is such a kind and understanding guy. I really enjoyed our interactions and the feedback he would give. Take this class if you love to feel appreciated by your professors!
Prof Youngblood is a great online teacher because he responds to emails quickly and always tries to help in any way he can. He's also very passionate about what he teaches and cares about his students. He does like to assign a lot of papers, however, so be ready to write a lot in his class. But he always makes the content interesting and engaging.
Great Professor. Makes class not stressful.
Great teacher for introducing students to Psychology.
Professor Youngblood is a great Pysch professor and I would take a class with him again. He is a really understanding and genuine professor who actually cares our (students) wellbeing. The course itself it not that hard, JUST A LOT OF READING.
Okay. Lectures were fine, taught you what you needed to know for tests, but not a very reasonable guy. Especially in this time, we should be understanding of peoples lives outside of college, no later work accepted. Secondly, his lectures are obnoxious. He thinks hes some kinda super human for being logical about politics LOL.
He's an amazing professor and I learned so much even if it was an online class. Actually doing the work is needed to receive a grade, but it is not difficult. Make sure to stay on top of it because he only has a handful of extra credit chances available. Always asks if we are doing alright & I felt as if a professor actually cared. Overall, amazing
Professor Youngblood is the best professor I have ever had. I have now had him for both Introduction to Psychology and Social Psychology. It does not get better than Youngblood. He is insightful, brilliant, and the most compassionate professor I have ever had. Definitely recommend his class.
Youngblood really opened my eyes to a different perception of psychology. I will definitely be looking out for more of his courses!
He is a very understanding professor! Very clear grading criteria, and this class was both online and in person. All in all there were 3 essays, one final exam, and weekly quizzes and discussion boards, but the quizzes were open book. Gives credit where credit is due, if you don't try in the class it will reflect on your grade. CLASS WORTH TAKING!
this professor was great, i did not see anything wrong with him and his teaching style.
His class was very interesting! He's a kind person that really wants to make sure you pass with the grade you deserve! Overall, there were 3 main papers, 1 exam (split into two parts), and discussions and quizzes throughout the class to make sure you were on top of the material! Overall a great professor! :)
Loved him. Made coming back to college a breeze
He is a great Professor. He was weekly open-note and open-text book tests that are very easy and straightforward. He has 3 papers but they are all pretty easy and he is very lenient when it comes to grading them. He is willing to increase your grade at the end of the semester if you think you deserve to. Has multiple mental check-in days.
I enjoyed taking professor Youngblood's psych300 course, his online lecture power points gave so much interesting information. All the tests and quizzes aligned with the power point content, all the papers were positively mind challenging and I would happily take this course again.
Fun Psychology Teacher. Goes through great lengths detailing the topic. Slides are very clear and concise to what content you should be learning about. Extra content is related to the topic you are currently learning! Would like to have them again in another subject they teach.
Amazing. class is so clear and is easy to follow. very good content and very educational. has 3 papers, quizzes and other content which is overall easy as long as you put in enough effort and time. easy to communicate with and actually cares and super helpful !! THE CLASS IS WORTH IT.
I learned so many interesting things in his general psychology course. One of the things he does so well in his teaching is contextualizing theory into current events. He really cares about his students and his passion for the concepts he teaches really shows. Great professor!
Professor Youngblood is the best professor I have ever seen. I took PSYC300 on summer. Although, it was an asynchronous class but he tried his best to make the materials interesting. He is clear in grading and will give you really good feedbacks. The class has 3 papers but super easy. He provides really helpful videos in every topic and PowerPoints
A lot of reading but I learned a lot. Professor youngblood will try to help you in all areas so that you will understand and is very interactive with students. Should be more open to different political views and lifestyles than his own.
He's nice, but good god his lectures are text heavy. His powerpoints are chunks of texts and it's hard to find anything in there during open book tests. Can't really talk or bond with classmates cuz all he does is talk. Also always makes you write a bunch reflection journals which are pretty much essays about the lecture.
He is a very understanding professor, attendance is not mandatory! This course is designed so that if a lockdown happened again it would not interupt class. All of the lecture notes are available online; tests are open notes. Turn in the assignments and you will pass. There is A LOT of extra credit opportunities to take advantage of!
Professor YoungBlood does a very good job of going through each of the chapters that we go over in class. Although the classes are not mandatory I think it's very beneficial to attend. The homework is not hard as long as pay attention in class and put effort into your work. Overall, this class is very beneficial and informative, and a good teacher.
The workload is not heavy but it can seem like a lot at first. He is very clear on how he wants you to format and how the structure of your paper should look like. Extremely funny guy and wants you to pass the class. As long as you do your work, you'll pass. Overall, great class!
Was very positive and outgoing. He made clear and concise points that proved to be helpful during lectures. He always kept me engaged and will be one of my favorite professors of all time. The work was pretty easy as long as you used your materials and looked at the example papers he gave you. Would recommend to anyone!
I had Professor Youngblood this year, he was the most understanding professor I had. His lectures are fantastic, he has a manageable amount of work, and he gives tons of resources. He's a super funny dude and I thoroughly enjoyed his classes. His work is weekly discussions/quizzes due Sundays and 3 papers you write all in APA format with 3+ pages.
Prof Youngblood cares a lot about his students and stands by knowledge is key and he doesn't want the class to be stressful. There are 3 papers and weekly quizzes and discussions and you can use notes and his powerpoint slides on the quizzes. Attendance is not required at all. I would definitely take a class with Prof Youngblood again!
This course is structured to be challenging & educative. Professor Youngblood exudes a vibrant spirit and genuinely cares about his students' development. Coming to class regularly will help with the course content and assignments. My experience in this class has been incredible, anyone who enrolls in his course would enjoy it significantly.
pretty easy class with a light workload, there's a quiz due like every sunday and 3 papers total plus if you need an extension on a deadline he's chill about it. if you're thinking about taking this class i'd definitely recommend, he's pretty funny and as long as you just do the homework you'll be fine.
an incredibly accessible course with great discussion regarding many different aspects of social psychology! Highly recommend.
I loved his class. If i'm being honest, I definitely could've passed with flying colors if I applied myself more, but I absolutely got the grade Ideserve. He is an amazing professor and truly cares about what he teaches. I wouldn't hesitate to take another course of his.
He has lectures that you can follow and they help you with the quizzes he gives you. He also has powerpoint presentations that are really handy when you are stuck on a question.
I took two of Youngblood's classes PSYC 300 and 320 (social psych) and really enjoyed every aspect of each of the classes. - Weekly quizzes and final open note super easy - Text book free barely used it - 3 papers, 3 pages min, minor stickler for APA formatting but let's you know how to fix it and resubmit - Lectures are fantastic don't miss em
He's very chill with class attendance. He's clear & consist about the material and of what's expected from students. On top of grading and ready to answer any questions/concerns to the best of his ability. His feedback on grading is always reasonable and fair. He's a professor that cares a lot about his student's success. Guaranteed, great teacher!
Every week you are only going to have at least 2 assignments sometimes 3. There is a lot of writing you are going to have to do but as long as you do the work then you should be fine. He gives great lectures every day!
Pretty political for a psychology class. Feel like you can't have an opinion of your own because he already "laid it out" on how you are supposed to respond to the essay questions & discussions. You have to ELABORATE on every topic and cannot summarize answers/thoughts in one or two sentences. Always use KEY WORDS to get the full grade.
I enjoyed his class. You have to put into work to get the grade you want. Professor Youngblood is very passionate in what he teaches. He has amazing lectures that are not boring at all. They were all informative. I took this class during the summer semester and wished I could've taken it during a full semester.
I enjoyed the class. He is very passionate in what he teaches. Great lectures and they aren't boring! He responds fast to messages. You earn your grade by putting in the effort. I usually hate essays, but you'll enjoy the topics as much as I did. Anyways, great professor and you should take his class! :)
Professor Youngblood was awesome! All of the material was easy to understand and if you put in the effort you will leave his class learning a lot along with the grade you desire. I would definitely take him again in the future.
I took his class in high school and although it was a challenge for me, it was a valuable one. Professor Youngblood choses impactful and interesting topics and interesting TedTalks.I learned so much in his class and I would 100% take it again. ( He also cares about you as a person, checking up on his students and always being available to talk.)
Professor Youngblood was a good professor online. He prefers communication via Canvas Messenger, but he responds very quickly. His quizzes were relatively easy especially considering most of the answers were given in the chapter presentations. He's a good professor who cares about psychology, society, and the wellbeing of his students
Prof. Youngblood is one of the best professors! He values teaching and is extremely understanding, lenient, and communicative. His class is heavy with knowledge and very well-paced with weekly timed quizzes, discussions, and two exams. Pay close attention to lectures and exams review guides and you'll do great! Offers extra credit! Take his class!
Super helpful, fast responses and chances to correct work. Good lectures and encouraged class participation. There was a lot of writing but always a lot of material to write about. Overall very positive experience.
I loved Prof. Youngblood. His material is easy to understand, all of his in person lectures correspond to the PowerPoint slides he has for each unit. The quizzes/tests at the end of each week (or after two weeks, depending on the length of the unit) are based on the slides he uses in his lectures. Super straightforward, such an amazing professor.
Professor Youngblood is very passionate about his class material and really promotes open discussions. His class was challenging in the sense that it requires you to put a lot of thought into the material. I loved his class and I definitely feel like I learned a lot from him. Overall I highly recommend his social psyc class.
good professor
I enjoyed this class, the best class I've taken all year. Professor Youngblood's teaching style was very interesting. He taught very important details, while also collaborating with the class. He cares a lot about his students and their well-being, which is why I enjoyed this class. I would definitely take this class again.
He puts his all into his weekly updates, which always include the required content for the week & tons of extra videos if the content piques your interest. He cares a lot abt social justice and connects the content to the world at large. 3 papers, weekly quizzes, and a few discussion boards. Follow instructions and you'll get an A. 100% recommend.
Easily the best professor I've ever had. Teaching style is amazing despite very heavy topics, and always loves to hear students' thoughts. Every message I sent, he replied within literal minutes and is incredibly understanding of personal matters. Gives extremely helpful and in-depth feedback on assignments and accepts late work.
Professor Youngblood is incredibly kind and flexible. Reasonable amount of homework, and very engaging lectures. Can easily be reached out to and cares deeply about his students. 100% would take again!
I took PSYCH320 online and loved it. All assignments are easy to understand. I love that he also gives us student examples from previous semesters. I had some things come up, wasn't able to turn them in on time, but I reached out to him, he was very understanding about it and allowed me to turn them in late. An amazing professor would retake him.
Great professor, knows what he is teaching and cares for students. Assignments are easy to understand and provides great feedback.
This is one of the best classes I've taken in college, and he is honestly a great professor.
I enjoyed having Professor Youngblood as my professor this semester. He is well-detailed in his teaching and answers many students' questions when they want to understand a specific concept. The students were given opportunities to share their thoughts in all lectures and felt they learned more talking about the weekly chapter textbook.
One of the best professors I've ever had. Very engaging when talking about the topics of Social Psychology and if your class is good at participating and starting discussions, he always brings it back on topic and ties those conversations into what you learn. There is a good chunk of writing you have to do in this class but it is not that hard.
One of the most kind, patient professors on campus. Genuinely cares for students and their wellbeing. Lectures are awesome and engaging; participation matters and is preferred. Quizzes every week, some discussion posts and 3 big papers. Incredibly flexible and will work with you if you need extra time on some assignments. 100% would take again.
My 2nd class with Brandon; I wish I could take more! He is passionate about the material, and fosters a caring and inspirational class environment with rich discussions on important topics. Start your book report early (it sneaks up on you) come to class, & really give your personal reflections in writing assignments and you'll do great.
Loved this class. One of the most painless and enjoyable classes I've taken at Sac city. Attendance isn't mandatory, assignments are online and all are graded with easy instructions. There are a few papers but as long as you attend class and read the slides those will be fairly easy to write.
Great professor, very understanding and easy to communicate with. This class was pretty fun
Youngblood is a great professor whos passionate about teaching. Lectures were great and encourage open discussion within the class. 3 Essays and various quizzes, which were not bad. Overall, great professor.
I enjoyed this class, it was interesiting and I enjoyed all the discussions that we had in class. The only negative thing that I could say is that he sometimes does not give enough feedback on why you lost points on papers. There is a lot of information given during this class so be ready to cover lots of topics.
By far one of the best professors I have ever had. His lectures are very illuminating on every subject he teaches. He cares about his students success and well being and overall just wants the best for them. He offered two extra credit opportunities and is very understanding if you need extra time on a paper. Overall an amazing professor!
The professor is very nice and funny, and he made the lecture very interesting and easy to understand.
Prof. Youngblood displays passion with psych, and although his classes aren't difficult, his pacing is important to keep up with (it isn't super fast or loaded though) Previously, attendance wasn't required, but he's been more wary of it because students often would take advantage of his lenience. Great energy and thorough material!
Get your work done on time and try not to fall back! Professor wants you to succeed and gives opportunities to get a better grade Fun class and really interesting topics!
Professor Youngblood is an amazing teacher! He really cares about his students and takes the time to help everyone out if you need, if you need extensions on work because of life problems or anything he is very understanding. Be ready to write though but he teaches you also to be the best writer at your abilities he's amazing I highly recommend :)
I enjoyed this class. He is a student's teacher and understands how we go about doing assignments and taking tests. While most teachers try to prohibit things like using the lectures while taking quizzes, he leans into it and more or less encourages it. He focuses on a few main topics that you'll remember instead of trying to memorize everything
I loved Professor Youngblood's class! The lectures are really engaging, and as long as you pay attention and understand the key concepts, you'll be fine to take the quizzes (which are online and you can look at the powerpoint). The three papers were okay, and if you show up to the last few classes you will be perfectly set up to take the finals.
Prof. Youngblood is an amazing professor. He's somewhat lenient with assignments and has genuinely interesting and extremely dense lectures, his lessons were very insightful and have had some impact on my personal life. He encourages you to think and his lessons will likely challenge your worldview. As long as you pay attention, you will pass.
Professor Youngblood's PSYC320 class had its moments of being hard and easy. I couldn't ask for a better one to teach this course. He does accept late work (except the quizzes), and his lectures, although they felt slow at the very beginning, are interesting and informative. Do the semester-long book review early or it will get you later.
Took him for summer: weekly quizzes, sometimes discussion boards. Really does read through everything and scores if you meet requirements or not. 3 papers in total with APA format and expects 2 peer reviewed in the 2nd and 3rd papers. There's also 2 finals for the summer course.
Prof youngblood made this class feel like an English class more than psychology. He grades pretty harsh & doesn't really give edited feedback on what you missed and how you could change it. His quizzes were very annoying but manageable & he gives lots of time + u can use lectures. Hes real particular about how discussions are posted too
If you need to take a general psych class pick Youngblood! Prof Youngblood is very straightforward and always gives examples for his assignments. He also gives all the answers to the final.
Considering this is a psych class, you can expect to write (and read) a lot. There was a total of 3 papers, each had to be >1700 words w/ APA format. I really enjoyed his class as it was very insightful. It was an 8-week class = a lot of content each week. While there is a textbook, you don't need to buy it as he already provides an online pdf!
Compassionate and knowledgeable professor.
Took this class over the summer and it had many assignments but they were usually due Sunday at 3pm or 10pm. Three essays for a summer course is probably not the best but I would understand if it's a semester. Overall, amazing professor who grades quickly and is understanding as well.
Professor Youngblood is really nice. You'll pass his class if you just read all the materials and pass your works on time.
Professor Youngblood's class is engaging and rewarding if you put in the effort. The assignments may seem daunting, but Unstuck AI and the textbook can really help with study prep. Overall, an interesting and worthwhile course.
Professor Youngblood is the best educator I've ever learned under. He encourages a new level of critical thinking and is extraordinarily informed about the social and political climate of the world. If you want to have profoundly invaluable knowledge about the world, take this course. The content is heavy but extremely important!
I think one of the most important things to do is staying on top of your work in the class. Most of the weekly assignments consist of a quiz and a journal entry or discussion board. If you follow the instructions and turn in assignments, you should do pretty well. Although he's not tough on attendance, he sometimes offers extra points for attending
Really liked this professor and his discussions were very engaging. Recommend future students to take his class.
Professor Youngblood can be very lenient if you simply meet him halfway. The material is broken down so it's very easy to understand and he inspires discussions that help you to not only better understand the material but also find it relatable.
Very simple class if you make it simple. Super chill guy and he respects people when they're struggling with something very unbiased and has a great personality and attitude every time I got to the class. Just don't use ChatGPT and you will literally pass the class and he inspires you to do your own work and not make you use ChatGPT.
He is a wonderful Teacher! He is smart, kind, considerate. He is willing to work with people if stuff comes up. He is radical and thoughtful. Highly recommend.
My specific class, made learning fun! There was an immense amount of engagement from my peers and my professor. It was slightly challenging, but I felt very supported and surrounded by motivation. I would definitely take Professor Youngblood's class again to feel the connectedness once more. Professor Youngblood was passioante about his teachings!
very awesome person
Very understanding teacher, who cares about the wellbeing of his class and his students.
Professor Youngblood's class was very engaging and the lectures were always worth going to. He didn't ask for much, just that you keep up with your quizzes and written assignments. Very personable educator who seemed to care about every student who walked into class that day. I wouldn't recommend starting late on the book report, it'll take time.
I appreciate his lecture is informative, but he is really tough on grades, which stresses me out, although he says that "knowledge, not stress." I feel stressed. I have tried hard in learning, but it's tough!
Amazing, insightful, and dignified teacher. His amazing and valuable teaching and lectures help fill in the gaps in my questions that I have wondered about before. There is plenty of EXTRA CREDIT for you to take. If you do the work and attend the class, the course is worthwhile. I am definitely looking for more of his class in the future!
Professor Youngblood is such an amazing professor! His lectures are so eye-opening and help you understand the social world so much better. He doesn't take attendance but heavily encourages it. It's a social psyc class, you need to interact sometimes. I would definitely recommend his class to any social science majors or just an elective!
The lectures are very insightful, the quizzes are straight forward, taken from lectures and videos provided. The class makes you critically think about the world around us through the reflective Journals (1,700 word requirement). Plenty of Extra Credit to raise grade. would take again and recommend for Psychology majors 👍.
Professor Youngblood is super engaging and his lectures are always fun to listen to. He prepares you well for quizzes and other assignments and is easily accessible outside of class. It's clear he cares about his students and the course content, and he's overall an excellent professor- would definitely take a class from him again!
