The 1/2 semester is very fast paced and condensed. Professor Young is a great professor, yet because of the short class session period, the information is crammed and hard to understand and keep up with.
Great teacher and easy! As long as you show up to class and pay attention its an easy A. she emails ur reviews for the test and as long as you know everything on that your fine. easiest class ive ever had. and shes super nice too!
Professor Young is a great teacher who is very well educated in her field and uses great examples during her lectures. Her Exams/Quizzes are very straight-forward; no tricks. If you attend class and read the assigned readings you will get an A. She gives extra credit assignments and drops your lowest 2 quizzes. I loved this class and recommend it.
the class was tough
This class was NOT easy, but I dont think it really had to do with Prof. Young's teaching. Psychology is just a hard subject to grasp, and theres so much to cover within a semester. Lectures are on powerpoint presentations.
She gives study guides for the 3 exams and Final. There are not tricks on the exam just study the guides and you will do fine. The final is partly accumulative. There is a 5 page essay,a group presentation, and extra credit in this class. Her presentations are wonderful and she is very helpful but VERY liberal. Attendance is a must.
She is a very nice teacher. Her lectures are clear and she is very helpful to talk to. If anybody needs to take a psy class I definitely recommend taking her because she is down to earth and not so technical. she loves giving pop quizzes so make sure you read the night before. For this class, a paper and a group project is required-both are easy.
EXCELLENT teacher!! She teaches psychology in away that anyone can understand. All lectures use powerpoint/youtube. Pop quizzes but their only worth 5 pts each and I got all A's without ever reading. Tests come straight from the lectures. Lots of extra credit opportunities. Definately recommend!! Plus she is really HOT!!!!!
highly recommend her. not much homework. lectures are power point. 1 written 5 pg paper and a power point group assignment. I used the book but you could prob get by without it. Tests not that bad, use the study guide. about 6 pop quizzes throughout semester.she's helpful and has knowledge in her area.ec 10 points offered at end. out early sometime
Dr. Young's class was easy for me and very easy to understand. I just wish she took the time to go more in depth with topics, especially about things that most people would not understand the importance of. Still, she's a very nice person.
AMAZING TEACHER! Just finished taking her for the 5 week class and I had a blast. I was honestly a little scared going in but right away I knew I'd be okay. Her lectures are right to the point and her tests are right off the study guides. Take this teacher if you want to have a good time, but are prepared to study. Would take her again in a sec.
I took the online class, make sure you read every word or else you will screw up your assignment,a lot of work!had a hard time keeping up,tests are hard, dont remember reading in book,i'm failing the class b/c i can't keep up with deadlines.make sure you reply to messageboards! i forgot so that wasn't good. You need to participate in the class to pass
I took her half semester Cross Cultural and on campus Social Psych class. She's pretty awesome because she's organized, clear on her grading criteria, takes things we see everyday and relates them to her powerpoint, and she's very helpful. I didn't really use the textbook for her class (especially the online one).
Talks to students like they're children.
Good teacher but i thought i was passing the whole time and wound up with a D.
Brandy Young is a really good teacher. She's clear and concise. She will help you if you ask. If you participate and ask questions, she will notice you and you are more likely to get a better grade. Loved this class!
(ONLINE)Awesome teacher! fun web activities & discussion boards. uses '30 days' from FX & YouTube in her lessons. A 'cross-cultural interview' paper is required. Test questions were easy to understand. An easy A if you do the 4 extra credit assignments she offers: the museum of tolerance, a movie review, be a minority for a day & an article review.
Really enjoyed the online classes..i was very clear and well organized..i totally recomend her..I am selling the book if anyone wasnt to buy it for the 09summer or [email protected]
took her online psy251 and her face to face psy 101. shes a great teacher, very easy very helpful and has interesting lectures and good online materials. take her!
f2f class. always somewhat entertaining. very nice and flexible. exams are pretty easy because she usually repeats important information. class time is spent with a lecture about a chptr with youtube clips, pictures, clear examples, etc. small load of easy hw with VERY easy grading.
Such an amazing professor, probably the best i had throughout my entire college career this far. I wish she taught more classes I needed to take.
She's really sweet and pretty. Take her! Just make sure you study for the tests. There was 4 exams all multiple choice and one essay.
Dr. Young is a great professor. When speaking, she is very clear and sincere. In addition to her lectures, it is recommended that students read their textbooks to study for the exams. All in all, her class was enjoyable.
Wonderful professor. She is always willing to help if you are willing to ask. Understanding with any personal/family issues. Grading very clear. Class is not "easy" but it is clear what is expected of you and as long as you put in the work you will learn a lot.
She is a very good at teaching Phychology, she always gave you little examples to go with the topic she was teaching. I didn't like that she would base the test on the notes you took in class which are alot, so don't miss a day in class. But if you study them you should get a good grade. I highly recommend taking this class.
This class was very boring. All she does its notes notes video and more notes. she talks about her kids alot and has alot of different stories. interesting class though. tests are hard but you have to study! very clear in speaking and giving good examples. i would recommend this class but PAY ATTENTION!
ONLINE CLASS. Very easy. Weekly discussion board. Quizzes every so often. And 2 exams (including final). You do not need the book, she supplies powerpoint notes with all the answers in there. 15 pts extra credit offered. Easy A, just keep up with the discussion board.
This class is entirely based on note-taking, and the grade is almost entirely based on tests (aside from some activities). Young is a good teacher and is clear when covering the material. The tests can be challenging at times, but her notes are very helpful. I recommend her class, but you will need to put some effort to get that A.
She's very clear in her lectures, and the notes are what the tests are mainly based on. I do recommend reading the book for a deeper understanding of the notes. Reading both the notes and book will help you a lot. This class isn't difficult as long as you pay attention, take notes, read the book, and do the project. Virtually no hw, and one project
Mrs. Young was great. She really wants her students to learn and understand the material and she goes out of her way to make it as easy as possible. Her tests can be hard if you dont look over the study guide, but all the other points in the class are fairly easy to recieve. Best part is that she's pretty hot. Overall, it was a pleasant experience.
Took her class online in the summer. Pay close attention to due dates does not accept late work. Responds back to emails very quickly. If you have any questions she is very helpful. Read text and lecture notes for tests and quizzes. There is a 5 page paper. She offers extra credit as well. Putting effort into the class will get you a passing grade.
I loved my class with Dr. Young; she's a great lecturer. Her lecture wasn't discussion based, so it's a good class if you don't like to talk. However, the tests can be very hard if you didn't study properly. When taking notes in class, copy down the entire powerpoint. I recommend taking her class.
This teacher is definitely as good as one you can ever find. She's super pretty and likeable, and her class isn't too difficult. She'll also always be available if you need help. Highly recommended.
Really good teacher, actually passionate about what she is teaching.
very good teacher. she made my college experience go smooth. she is very nice. learned alot with her.
Prof. Young is a very smart woman who obviously loves her job. I took her honors course and found her to be a very in depth teacher. She uses multiple teaching styles including mostly visual aids (videos, pp's) Her exams are relatively easy if you pay attention in class and take notes. She also gives a research paper and a group project.
Took the online class. This was an easy class. All you have to do is read her notes, do the work, and read the book using the study guide. It's a for sure A, especially with extra credit. It is not hard or too much work. Thus the material learned is interesting, different from what I thought from reading the title of the class.
Took online. She is VERY helpful, clear, and a good teacher. I had problems with my computer kicking me out of the test and she was helpful in getting it reset in a timely manner for me. I would highly recommend taking her class.
Dr. Young is by far one of the best psychology professors I've ever had. She's a brilliant young professor. She's very passionate about her subject and it truly shows through when she lectures. She has many homework assignments that allowed me to learn more about myself. Here exams are 60 questions - multiple choice. She offers extra credit.
This is the 2nd class I have taken with Dr. Young. She has my highest praise. As I have mentioned in a previous post she teaches with passion and loves her subject. Lots of activities, quizzes, discussions and online exams. She also offers extra credit.
Best teacher I have ever had! Her lectures include power points, some youtube examples, and she is energetic when speaking. Do your HW. Her test are challenging but study a litter harder and you'll do fine. She gives extra credit and test are multiple choice. My study skills changed after this class. It was a pleasure taking her
Really nice and easy teacher, I really liked her! :) Handful of notes- but not hard, and lectures were always interesting! Do the HWs (which are not hard at all- in fact pretty fun and interesting to do), and study using the study guide she gives you and this class will be a breeze! :))
She is a great teacher. although attendance is not mandatory i highly suggest going to class every day. you dont really need to buy the book. she does give you questions from the book but those are all covered on her notes. slide shows are posted up but listening to her lectures will guarantee you an A.
She is the best professor I've had this past semester. I was always eager and interested to learn in her class. Definitely recommend! :)
EXCELLENT Professor! She LOVEs her job: so she TEACHES it w/ a SMILE :) Very intelligent woman, best PSYCH Instructor I have ever had! Print the PowerPoints(3 to a pg) take your notes on them. We laughed & learned alot in her class! Use the study guide for the test & you will get an A. She has lots of YouTube clips that make you think & laugh!
Amazing lecturer. I recommend bringing laptop to class and literally typing out EVERYTHING she says because she's THAT good of a lecturer. You WANT to attend her lectures... reading book alone or looking at power point alone will NOT suffice. Go to class, pay attention, take notes, review by reading textbook and looking at ppt. Passionate teacher.
Great professor, fun and sweet. Really cares about student and explains everything clearly. Best PSY professor I had in my college career. I got an A and if you do work with effort an A is easily achievable! always answers questions and helps with assignments. Would recommend her to anyone looking to take a fun course!
Easy, just do all the work. She lectures off of powerpoints that she uploads online. She has some homework assignments which are really easy, the are due on the day of the exams. Exams are multiple choice. EASY!
Awesome teacher I took her Psy 101 class and it was by far the easiest class I have taken. She bases all her tests and quizzes on her powerpoint presentations. And one project. The project is super easy, it is basically a powerpoint presentation about yourself. She always responds back to emails super quick. I'd take her again. A++
Download all power points, do all study guides, do all hw assignments, do extra credit, curves. I got Cs on three exams and one B on the final. I received full credit and excelled in the hw discussions. I did extra credit and received an A at the end of semester. Barely used the book. Great power points. I liked her lectures. Straight info.
She was awesome in the power points. Most the questions were on the power points. Easy A if you do all assignments and project, discussions. I got almost A because I didn't do extra credits.
I took psychology 101 online during the summer. It wasn't easy but it is possible to get a good grade. I highly recommend that if you take the course during the summer either a part time job or no job is best. There is a lot of reading and a quiz every other day and an exam every week. Print the power points and if you need help E-mail her.
Amazing professor! Hybrid course consists of reading notes and taking a quiz weekly online, then she lectures about the chapter in class afterwards. Four easy homework assignments and quizzes/exams are a piece of cake since you can use your notes. Would not recommend hybrid if you cannot make time for it at home. Otherwise, it is an easy A!
Super easy if you do your work. Tests are based off on her lectures and powerpoint notes. She does expect you to read the textbook but you can probably still get a good grade without it.
Great professor. Very passionate about her subject. She always answer her email within 24hrs. I took her hybrid class, and it's basically an easy A. Tests and quizzes are online. Easy homework. Gives extra credits along the way. Print the PowerPoint because those will be more useful than your book! Her lectures are useful!
Interesting class. Learned a lot about myself and other cultures. Class is well organized and the assugnments are fun. Highly reccommend.
Loved the way she taught. Explained concepts clearly using easy to understand real life concepts. Always looked forward to going to class. Inspired me to be a better and more organized student.
took psy 101 online for fall. responds to emails right away! everything on the tests are on her power points notes. i recommend instead of printing them out, take notes and write everything in her power points, you will retain the information better. test are somewhat hard but not too difficult.1 chapter a week, 1 quiz per chapter. 4 test.
Read, Understand, and you will pass. I enjoyed her lectures, she always seems so bright, she obviously loves what she does. She never goes off topic she will give you great examples and explain clearly. She does not drop your lowest exam. However, with extra credit and scoring really high on the other exams A is possible.
She was a great teacher and I loved her social psych. Her lectures are very entertaining and fun, and all her tests are things she went over. She gives a lot of extra credit and she has a very clear grading criteria. Overall a phenomenal teacher and would love to take her again. There's online homework but as long as it's on time, you'll get credit
So, I found this professor through this website. Since she had good reviews I decided to give her a try and take her online course. I should have thought twice, she never replies back to emails, if she does it's after a week or so. She provides powerpoints, which do not help in the tests. Overall, I was disappointed.
I loved this class. Intersting material and assignments. I learned so much. Professor is passionate about her job and always gives clear and relevant examples. Made me always wants to come to class.
A good portion of your grade depends on homework assignments, they're all online so you don't really need a physical copy of the textbook since it's available through the site. But Professor Young is amazing! I went in with an apathetic attitude about psychology, but she was able to tune into my interests and makes her lectures really engaging.
She seems easy but she is tough too. She is Nice and understand if you have any problem and properly communicate with her. Everything is according to the plan with no class missing on her part. Dr. Young is really good professor and funny at times. It was Great memories and experiences too.
I'm taking here online class and nothing is helpful. The powerpoints don't match up to the chapters in the book. Her study guides are not useful, the chapters are all over the place and theres no point on doing the study guide, they don't help you. Be prepared to do everything a head of time, if you work.
I enjoyed this class even though it was online during the summer. Yes, the pace is fast, but that's to be expected when you cram an entire semester into 5 weeks. Interesting readings. Learned a lot from the assignments and hearing other students' perspectives on the discussion boards. Material was organized and prof replied to emails promptly.
I took the online PSY101 class over summer. She requires three short assignments for each chapter (easy points if you do them), exams, and discussion boards. Class was interesting and well organized. Prof. is accessible, supportive, and helpful. I liked reading about research and hearing other students' thoughts on the DB. Would highly recommend.
This was my first online class. I struggled in the beginning but Professor Young was very patient and helpful. She kept me interested in the material and made me feel as though I could overcome any challenge. Grades aren't handed out on a platter. You have to work for it but she will offer you guidance, support, and encouragement along the way.
I took the online 8 week Psy 101 class and it was very straightforward. You are required to purchase an online textbook which includes your chapter lessons and quizzes. Since the material was straightforward, I really can't say that she was good at teaching. Good power points though, but be prepared to be be independent for this course!
Great online professor. I didnt have time to complete all assignments, but still managed to get an A! I would love to have her as my professor again
Young is an okay prof, her lectures are kinda boring but you need to pay attention to her examples because they end up on the exams. She is super nice and offers extra credit opportunities. There is online hw which is basically an easy 10 points every week. Overall the class wasn't so hard.
She is so kind! Loves all her students, will give help if asked. Very clear on due dates, sticks to syllabus, and explains all topics on tests. Tests are a bit rough since they are generated by the text book, but she does her best to help. Not much homework, can be finished within 1-2 hours before due if focused.
Psy 131. Great teacher. Responsive, helpful and responds quickly via email. That being said, the class is a lot of work. A great deal of homework and 4 very heavy multiple choice exams. The 1st 3 exams are 60 questions and the final is 80. If you want a good teacher and you're prepared to work hard, take the class, but do not expect an easy A.
Loved this class. Lectures were super interesting and assignments were fun to do. 4 exams, a paper, small quizzes, and 2 written discussion board assignments. Dr. Young is very well educated and she is an amazing teacher who clearly explains the material and gives relevant examples. I not only learned about other cultures, I learned about myself.
This was a great class with an excellent professor. This was an 8 week course so you had to be on top of your assignments, but the professor made the content interesting and provided a very positive learning experience. Of all the classes I have taken, she is one of the best professors. I enjoyed her technique of teaching, it made the class fun.
All I can say is that Dr. Young loves her students and her job. Shes positive, supportive, and encouraging. She makes me want to come to class and I feel that Im learning so much about myself and about psychology. She genuinely cares for her students and tries to bring out the best in us!
Prof Young class is fairly easy, but there is a lot of work. There is 14 chapters you must complete; each chapters has a reading + questions section, quiz and a interactive assignment. 4 exams and 2 discussions boards. No study guide are given.
Took her Class over the summer, she was very easy to get a hold of. Most work was graded within a week and she gave good feedback on the discussion board. If you need to take any type of psychology class take her, not saying she is easy but if you put in the effort on each assignment you can easily get an A.
Honestly taking this class online was my only choice and she is not making it any easier. She is by far the worst professor ever... I have an A in the class but she uses cengage and the powerpoints she uses are NOT helpful whatsoever. You basically teach yourself all of this content, and she just throws it at you expecting you to know all these bs.
Just finished the 8-week online class. There was weekly chapter homework, but the assignments are untimed and you have multiple attempts. Exams are more difficult but she offers a study guide and if you know your Powerpoint notes, you will do well. Also has a variety of interesting discussion board assignments. Great class, I learned a lot!
Mrs. Young is by far the best psychology teacher Ive had. You really do have to be in class, and put in time outside of class to study as one chapter is covered in a week. She covers everything in class using PowerPoints, and videos. There isnt much work to do besides study, very few quizzes, two discussion boards and one group project.
Very great at teaching
Professor Young is really great and very nice. I took her hybrid class, so all of our work was online, which made taking quizzes and tests easier. Her lectures are very clear and she makes them interesting, just take notes.
If you intend to take her online, think again. The exam is 60 questions (1point/each). You are NOT allowed to go back to previous question. Even though she gives you FREE points on the quiz. You have to put much effort, otherwise you will easily end up with a C. I would rather take another professor. She also gives extra credit! but a lot materia
Loved this class so much. You will have to work for an A but the material is interesting and most of the assignments are fun. Dr. Youung is also the advisor of Psychology Club and she loves mentoring students. She even gave me really helpful feedback for my UC applications.
The content of the class blew me away and had me second guessing my major. There 2 long discussion boards that r a lot of fun to do and make you self reflect on yourself and family, 2 quizzes a week, and 4 big exams. Test and quiz based on powerpoints. Go to her office hours to talk with her, doesn't respond to emails. Loved her class!
Professor Young is a kind hearted, enthusiastic, and passionate professor. She also is very involved in the psychology department through clubs and psi beta! Her online class test are a bit challenging but take your time on them and do not let that discourage you because she gives extra credit and fun projects. Also very helpful in her office hours
I took the online Psy 131 class. The quizzes are free points, the discussion board questions were super long but easy. The test on the other hand were difficult because you have 60 questions & 60 mins to complete the entire test BUT its one question at a time & you CANNOT go back. I didnt like how the exams were set up at all..
I took the 5-week summer class and loved it! Im a psych major and this class gave me a much better perspective of the field. The content of the class was really interesting & the discussion boards were fun even though they required effort and critical thinking. If you want to expand your mind with a prof that loves the subject this is for you.
Dr. Young is one of the sweetest professors at Cypress College. I actually took her online class awhile ago. She is enthusiastic and cares about her students on an academic and personal level. Felt her online class was difficult because there is a lot of homework and you cannot change answers on exams. She is a professor you just have to meet!
She's the sweetest professor on campus. The lectures can be boring at times, but overall it was an easy class to follow. She takes a few days to answer emails. You get a lot of extra credit opportunities, one being involved with watching a black mirror episode. Just follow the sg and you'll get at least a B on all the exams.
I took Prof. Young's class online. You need to purchase an external textbook for this class and do your assignments on there. If you're broke like me, finish all the assignments before your trial is over (it's very possible lol). Her discussion board's are long, however, very interesting. Also, study for the tests!!! There's no quizlets for them.
Professor Young has been one of my favorite professors in community college thus far. Her expectations and grading rubrics are clear, and they are not very difficult. Sure, the most annoying thing is the tests don't allow you to go back to previous questions, but it honestly wasn't a big deal. Keep up with the work, and she is available for help.
She was an amazing professor! She had some jokes along the way and was extremely caring to her students!
My favorite teacher I had for Fall 2020. You do have to work for the grade and her exams are difficult, especially her final. But she gives amazing feedback and you can tell she cares a lot about her students. Her discussion boards are time consuming, so make sure you take the time to do those. Very informative and answers any questions you have.
Her exams are a bit tough because you can only select an answer once and it can't be changed. Also, she has a very strict, "NO late work" policy so you HAVE to stay on top of things. Thankfully, she allows up to 15pts EC, which involves writing papers or visiting a museum. Overall though, this class is interesting!
PSY 101 6 wk course. Great professor! Kind & gives good feedback. Textbook homework is very simple & easy to complete (assigned twice a week, takes 20-30 min to complete). Assigned 2 total discussion boards (long, multiple parts, but not difficult to complete). Exams are relatively easy & simple (multiple-choice, answers in textbook). Recommend!
She's nice and her optional test study zooms are so helpful! I wish I went to more of them. If I did I would have not been so stressed about my grade. I got an A but it was a super low A and I only got it due to extra credit. The tests are so so hard if you do not study though so beware of that. Yet, the assignments are super easy! Mindtap used!
I'd like to start by saying the course itself and material is well-structured, however the course online is organized is horrible. This teacher has all the discussions in one single post making impossible and messy to find who to reply, the discussion you are supposed to do and often miss some of them.
Prof. Young is a great professor. I love the feedback that she provided on the discussion boards, and I liked how she allowed us to take quizzes as many times as we needed to get full points on them. You honestly don't really need the textbook, as reading her slides was sufficient enough to do well on the quizzes and tests.
Great teacher, very understanding, and open to communication. Understands situations and is nice. Easy class. Never looked at the textbook or any study material. Not sure if there were even any zoom meetings tbh. Most of the answers to quizzes/tests are online. 4 exams 60-80 question exams, and there are multiple 10-question quizzes each week.
Easy class. Never looked at the textbook or any study material. Not sure if there were even any zoom meetings tbh. Most of the answers to quizzes/tests are online. 4 exams 60-80 question exams, and there are multiple 10-question quizzes each week. 5 poorly organized discussion boards. Otherwise - This is actually a really good, caring teacher.
Be prepared to work for your grade. It's not difficult work but there's a good amount. Homework and quizzes are on a website and she lets you re-take them up to 3 times to get 100%. Also lots of discussion boards! There are 3 exams and 1 final exam but it's open notes. Exams are timed with 1 ? per min. Kinda have to self-teach w/ presentations.
Short term classes can be overwhelming but Prof. Young makes sure you can stay on top of it. Every assignment is clearly posted through the syllabus page and exams are almost directly taken from the chapter quizzes. Take note of your quiz answers and powerpoints and you will succeed with this class.
Take this class with this amazing professor without thinking twice, very helpful and cares about her students, I took grade C because I was submitting my discussions on time, so be aware to the due dates, other than that everything in her class is amazing. Take it.
This class was beyond easy..I barely showed up &the assignments were so easy. This felt like a high school class. Mrs. Young is great, her lectures are boring but she is truly a sweetheart. If you want the easiest credits of your life, take her. There was a big group project at the end of the semester, but she didn't grade too hard on that either.
I am currently taking PSY 251 with Brandy Young and it's been displeasing so far! I do not recommend taking any classes that involve her, if you have a life or any actual important commitments outside of her class. She has due dates everyday at certain times and if you want extra credit you're only able to attain it at certain and specific times!
I took her for both PSY 101 and PSY 251; let me tell you, I wish I had taken her for all my classes; she genuinely cares about the students. Mindtap assignments are easy, and the online exams are a breeze. Just make sure to get the discussion boards finished early, as they take some time. Overall, she's the best Psychology Professor at Cypress.
Be prepared to type a lot for the discussion boards; however, Prof. Young seems to grade them pretty easily. As long as you meet the wordcount and submit them on time, you'll be fine.
it's mostly indepedent work but prof young is nice and considerate when messaging/emailing her anything! most of your assignments are weekly quizzes and discussions. though it's alot of information, if you pay attention to the topics, it's not difficult. exams are heavy though so be prepared for them being timed and being multiple choice.
Easy class as long as you complete the assignments on time. Not very much hw, weekly discussion boards require a good amount of writing but as long as you complete them on time and give a detailed response you should be good. Answer to quizzes can easily be found online and her exams are not bad. You can tell she cares about her students!
Young is extremely detached and is not at all accessible outside of class. As someone who took an online course, she did not provide her email anywhere in her syllabus or in her Canvas site, and the phone number she leaves is one she does not respond to. There are many typos, arbitrary writing rubrics, zero feedback, and no engagement w/students.
Want an easy class to cross off for your GEs? Avoid this professor at all costs. The discussion posts are the absolute worst. Each post requires basically 6-8 paragraphs on a 25 page article or 2 separate hour long videos. The discussion prompts feel rehashed and it constantly feels like just trying to rewrite the same thing you said the last week.
Took the 8-week class for spring, so I expected an intense workload. On average discussion posts were about 1000 words each. You can retake quizzes as many times as you'd like, exams are multiple-choice. There are extra credit opportunities. Prof. Young is kind so I doubt you'll have any issues if you communicate with her. Not an easy A.
She's a pretty solid professor however her layout for the online class is a bit messy, and the way she has her discussion board's sloppy.
Very easy and enjoyable class. Discussion boards were a little bit difficult to remember doing, as there are multiple grouped together so they don't pop up on canvas assignments, but overall good professor to take if this is just a GE requirement. 10/10 would take again
This class was super easy, the only homework were the discussion boards and those take a lot of time and effort, but overall she was super accessible and the work wasn't overwhelming!
I had a pleasure taking cross cultural psychology with Professor Young she is amazing her lectures make you want to learn more. She is very sweet and helpful. I would 100% take her class again she is really passionate about psychology and you can see that in her teaching. Her class is structured very well which helps a lot.
Prof is very kind and caring. She's very passionate about psychology and has good lectures. Assignments consist of at home quizzes, discussion boards (which can take a good amount of time), and at home tests. I would 100% take her class again
Good class. I joined last minute and she was very understanding. The homework was easy, but the website used for it does require a payment. If you the book pass, it shouldn't be a problem. Discussion boards can be lengthy, but most you do learn from. Exams are also around 60-70 questions each(four exams). Taking her again in spring.
Prof. Young's class can be intense, with lengthy discussion posts, but she's understanding. Use resources like unstuck AI alongside the textbook to stay on top of it. Exams are straightforward if you review quiz answers and slides. Overall, it's a manageable class with an engaged, caring instructor.
I took this during the winter semester so it all accelerated for me. Outline of this class: Chapter reading with 2-3 mini quizzes and 1 quiz for the chapter 4 exams 4 discussion boards 1 extra credit at the end
I took the 5-week winter class so it felt like a lot but nothing impossible to do. lengthy chapter readings but quizzes can be taken as many times to get the highest score. just DONT procrastinate on discussion boards because they are quite lengthy. they have four parts, each part having many questions/long videos + 2 thoughtful peer comments.
Great class!Took the 8 wk fall semester course. She gives you opportunities for extra credit so take advantage of those. I forgot to do two assignments but did some extra credit and was able to pass with an A. She also gave personal feedback on discussion posts which I really liked. As long as you do your part, you can pass.
This was an online winter intersession class so it was heavier than it would be a normal semester class. Professor Young was very clear on how the class would be organized and graded. Most of the points came from discussion boards. These discussion boards were lengthy but it was a great way to learn the content. Overall a good professor!
Take her if you want an easy A.
She is a straightforward and fair grader, which is great. You always knew what was expected of you ,if you put in the effort, it's reflected in your grade. One of the most significant aspects of this course is the weekly discussion assignments, which require over 1,000 words each. Not simple posts—they demanded engagement with the reading material
Professor Young is one of the best professors! The discussions can be a little heavy, but they're extremely engaging. There are MindTap assignments where you get 3 tries for both the learning activities and quizzes, which are helpful. The exams were straightforward, and as long as you study the slides and textbook, you're guaranteed an A.
I took Mrs. Young in winter/spring 2025 online during winter break because I wanted to get a class out of the way. Since the material was compressed in a few weeks every two days we needed to complete a chapter from cengage/ mindtap and also had a quiz every two days. Discussion boards were heavy, but very doable and engaging.
I highly recommend her class. Most of the work was done through an online textbook and there are weekly discussion boards, I personally didn't find them difficult just make sure you set enough time to complete them. She also seems like a very caring and a genuine person. She was also very responsive the couple times I emailed her.
