This guy is ok.
I think he is one of the better professors at the middlesex because he genuinely wants to teach and makes sure that you know what your doing.
He is a great professor. Very talented and prepared for the subject.
He is so confused person and confuses entire class. Keeps changing course and grading criteria in the middle of the semester. Seriously I recommend not to take his class
Prof. Suero knows what he is talking about. It's fresh to get someone teaching that is currently working on the field. He cares a lot and will go the extra mile to help, but have no doubt about it this was a ton of work and you have to stay on top it. I am happy I took this class and would recommend him for this and any class.
Prof. Suero was a very laidback and cool professor. He only gave us a few assignments like in total we had around 5. There is a midterm & final which are both around 5-7 questions. Even when he gave us assignments he'd often give us the answers in his lectures. He understands that people are taking the class for credit so he goes easy
Easy Professor
You should def. take him! even tho I had zero background on csc, it was not that hard to follow and he loves to help! highly recommend
Professor Suero is the greatest professor out there. He will literally hold your figure through the whole semester. A super easy method to teach, I personally tried to learn python before but was not helpful at all but this manz teaches with magic. Please take him you will not regret it.
honestly a really good guy. he understands that a lot of people taking the course have little to no background in coding. he's constantly looking for feedback on how he can improve the course and his lectures. he's pretty accessible outside of class too! very sweet and deserves the world <3
Extremely difficult, very hard to do well. Doing well requires hours of studying, and although you will learn a lot it is not a justification for the difficulty of this course.
He is a good professor, who cares for his students. Understands that we are only humans. He will never make you feel uncomfortable, very friendly, and uses great communication. Will go the extra mile to help you succeed.
this professor is really cool and amazing but theres a catch, dont chegg or stuff or cheat cuz he'll know and youll get an instant 0. labs were kinda hard and confusing so i didnt do them, hes got 4 assigments during the semester and hes got a midterm and a final both are really hard and you have to pay attention during class overall hes a nice guy
Absolute. Legend. He's a great professor if you pay attention and understand what he's talking about. He responds to emails quickly so don't be afraid to reach out to him about questions. He'll make sure you walk away from class understanding the lecture.
Easy class if u study hard. Two tests; midterm n final, plus some assignment (4 tbh)! Tests r rough but assignments r flaxible
Great teacher I will take class again and again, very knowledgeable, clear explanation, very experienced.
I will not take his class again ever. Bad teacher.
Exams are hard. Damaged my GPA
no sure why does he get bad reviews for csc 161 he wakes you up when you fail asleep. HS students go to sleep during his lecture and a lot of people do not show up and expect good grades tbh you will get 4 assignments you can ask him questions via email and he will give you hints how to solve the issue or google it. midterm is coming from the labs.
I took the class during the summer. This class is more work than I expected, but at least we learned something. He cares if you learn. He was helpful.
Stay away from him
Professor suero is awesome. I did learn a lot in his class. Being as though I have never taken a computer programming course before I can say I left with some useful knowledge. Deff seeing him for java 2. take him you wont regret
Worse professor. Take other professor if you could
here's the thing. He will pass you even if you fail.that being said, I wouldn't take him again. You won't learn anything from his class. But this is an easy A class. but he is very much aware of the fact that people cheat by using chegg,GitHub, solutionmanual, coursehero. So don't cheat. do you own best. And rest is up to him. cause he will pass you
hes a decent professor you can get an A if you actually try
i was waiting for this professor too long I am taking his class now and hes cool i dont have a doubt that ill get a good grade
Brany Suero is shameless person. He let's you cheat during exam. He knows student are cheating copying from internet while taking exam, but he does nothing. He said "I want everyone to get an A by doing whatever they have to do". Very unethical behavior. I wish there were cameras to capture audio and video. Then I would have reported him to Dean.
You will not learn anything in his class but you will pass it with an A. The whole class cheated on exams, quiz and labs. The professor himself helps student during the exam. He will just give you the straight up answers.
Hahaha the whole class is a joke. You won't learn anything but you will get good grade
Do you want to get an A but not learn a single thing ? if yes, then take him
Really awesome guy. Tests were quite hard. Homework helps. Brush up on coding tho.
Easy class if u study hard. Two tests; midterm n final, plus some assignment! Tests r rough but assignments r flaxible
his lectures are ok, i got distracted many times cuz hes hot but really smart
I took him during spring semester. he aint bad you should know the basic of coding to go into his class. you get 4 hws + 2 exams. exams are kinda heavy but if you do the labs you should be alrigh good luck.
There's nothing hard about this class. He literally helped people in the exam. he gave out answers like there's no way you will fail this class. Kinda corrupt but hey,, its an easy A
I took prof suero over the summer hes a great coder n professional he listen to his students n understand that we are human n can make mistakes
Suero was a brilliant CSC 162 professor. I regret not taking him in CSC 161. You'll know he's teaching for joy, not money, so he cares about your success. Finals and midterms are manageable for him. But be timely. He accepted late assignments, although there were modest penalties. Professor Suero will work to help you succeed.
Professor Suero was great I really enjoy his class I was too lazy during his labs and hws start the semester strong and you will be good at the end
took him over the summer and it was kinda BORING. Just study the notes a lot. He's kinda cute tho :) lol..
His examples he used in class were very good. If you are confused about something and ask him to explain it he will do a great job at making it seem a lot easier.
Brany Suero is lazy guy. Everyone in the class was cheating on assignments and getting extension for the lab and homework. Easy and lazy A lol
We didn't learn anything in class. I will never take class again with Brany Suero. I signed up for class to learn but his class is so easy and everyone was cheating and surprisingly he knows student cheated and he does nothing about it. Brany Suero is joke
he who complains either doesn't belong in CS or doesn't apply themselves. Kiss up/crying/excuses don't work. He's FAIR! You get what you deserve, period! Most MCC students refuse to do their work.He obviously sees it, is frustrated and won't sqeek you by
He's a great teacher, the best in CS department and very clear. But you do have to really study hard. I started my semester slow and I managed to get a B+. do all the labs, hws and ask questions
just follow this lecture and do homework and test on time. Study for exam you will pass. If you dont study or review notes/lectures then it will be hard to pass.
Worse professor. Never gives straight answers. Short tempered. Stay away. Not recommend at all. I would give Brany Suero negative rating lmao
But very poor education. You pass the class but your will not learn. I got A- in his class but struggled lot with lack of understanding. Examples weren't good enough. I struggled in CSC-236 class becoz I had poor java understanding. You will not learn in Brany Suero's class and won't do well in future java class. U don't want to take with Brany.
Brany Suero is bad at teaching and organizing class. At times he gets lost in the middle of lecture. It makes entire class get lost when professor himself is lost. I don't recommend Brany Suero.
In this class, I learned a lot and wrote a lot of java coding in eclipse. Tests are easy, easy grader.
Hes alright I would take it again tbh he actually teach n you learn something if you want to
his presentations are boring but he makes sure you come out with knowledge i can tell i consider myself a better coder after his class
Lower standards. If I had chance to go back and pick different teacher I would. Becoz Brany Suero is not having good skill of teaching. He sits and just shows presentation slides and posts some codes in Canvas which will never make you better programmer. His coding examples are not helpful either.
we r in the middle of the semester so far hes ok
Real nice friendly guy. Likes to know who you are and everything. object oriented java is kinda hard topic. 2 tests and 4 hws and thats your grade. I didn't even really do to great on the tests and managed a B+ so i guess he puts a big curve. just study try your best and you'll be fine.
i learned poorly in the class and till got C (i guess professor Brany don't care) because how professor Brany teaches and i struggled in my next class (CSC162) due to lack of fundamental understanding that needed from 161. Choose different professor. Brany Suero is not good professor if you want to really learn.
class was ok it was a lot of material but prof suero managed to cover everything he made it easier to understand and provided good feedback if u ask DO NOT STAY QUIET DURING HIS LECTURE ask questions because i had classmates that would blame him for their lack of understanding but they never ask questions do ur labs, assignments and practice a lot
This guy cracks me up. He's a good professor and has an odd teaching style... you have to ask questions he even tutor if you need
Do NOT take this professor! He was absolutely horrible. He makes this textbook which is nice but literally reads right out of the book the entire class period. Has a very heavy accent which makes it very difficult to understand him even with simple words like communication. I would suggest to take someone else.
tbh hes awesome take him youll thanks me later
Probably the worst CS professor. Projects and assignments were worded VERY POORLY. Lectures were okay. Would make major projects and homework assignments due on the same day. Very annoying about extensions when everyone needed one citing the next assignment would come out following day, but never did. Came out two weeks later. Avoid at all costs.
Never coded with us to practice in class and made us self learn everything. Terrible.
he know his stuff cuz he was good at teaching java i hve 4hws midtern n final exam i got an A in the class i did all the labs and understood the theory im taking his 162 class i hope he his style is the same
i read all the bad comments n they aint true. prof walked n helped most of his students I took the class over the summer n he did the labs for the first 4chapters midterm final exams r based on the labs 4assignments pls dont do like some students that did dont the labs n waited for him to give them the answers while they played chest on their phone
if you want an easy A hes not your guy you have to code and earn it he teaches pretty good and his labs and hws are from the book topic is difficult you have to study in your own time
pretty simple midterm final exams 4 assignemnts and labs for every chapter. labs dont need to be submitted or right you have to ask him questions to finish it you can get it wrong cuz it dont count for final grade good luck yall
Funny teacher but sometimes he doesn't answer your questions during class. If you email him though he usually responds pretty quick and helps you with your code. If you study the labs, assignments, and theory you should be fine and get a pretty good grade.
Lazy.
The grades only depend on the exams, but he does not teach anything for the labs and exams. In general, it is difficult for students to study.
The professor is too lazy and never answers students' questions. When the student asks the question, the professor will say "It is a computer science class, so I do not answer your question." In addition, he does not teach anything in the class. Don't take his class. He is too bad.
Mandatory attendance and Never teach students. Please choose the other professor. If you were taking his class, he would waste time and make your GPA lower.
He only shows PPT in class and is difficult to talk. He usually refuses to answer the students' questions. You can take his class if you want to get a bad grade and waste your time.
He does not give the curve even though almost all classmates fail in the class.
All the bad comments might come from the same student. Professor suero gave us 2 assignments and a midterm exam half way of the semester. I am taking his class and I can promise you he answers all the questions ( I lie he did not answers questions like how to copy a file over or how to zip a file) lol we have a final exam and two more assignments.
He is so bad. He only posted four assignments in the semester, and you can learn little things from these assignments. However, the exam(90%) is too hard.
He does not know how to teach students, and there is too much nonsense in class.
The professor is actually a good person, but it does not translate good in teaching wise. He just did lecture per one hour each time we met, and was impossible to access him outside of class, and even he responded, it was short respond, and not helpful for your question. He is also a person who tricks his students a lot in class, which is not good.
The professor is so bad. He is so lazy because he only uses one hour to complete one chapter. Students can not understand the content in his class.
The midterm exam accounts for thirty percent of the grade, but the teacher only provided three questions and graded them haphazardly, showing favoritism. Correct code often receives zero points, while problematic code gets full marks. As a result, half of the students failed.
He talks about himself and his work all the time. Shows off a lot. Goes over PowerPoint slides and finishes class early all the time. Lazy one
He is really a good human being. If you do your assignments and labs properly than you should good in his class. All his exams are 30% - midterm and final (his final: 20% and departmental final: 10%), assignments are 40% and labs has no grade it's just for practice.
He is a realistic professor. Instead of making you do work that would satisfy any 162 professor, he teaches you how to properly code for the real world. Lecture wise, he goes slow making sure we understand the concepts and always askes if we have any questions. Responds pretty quickly too. Good professor overall and recommend taking him.
I took him for csc 161 during the summer i didnt have experience coding and he taught me everything i know now i can code pretty good and i am happy with my progress
He is very laid-back. The exams are very straightforward as you only need to study his slides. But, the group project can be challenging on its own.
Great professor. Gives you perspective of how the real world is like when coding. Only gives four assignments and two tests, midterm and his own final exam. Very clear with what he wants out of students and about the material. Cool guy to talk to outside the lectures.
If you do good on an exam question, he will grade the next harder to lower your score (his words). Adds limits to HW without announcing, scores as if you knew beforehand. Does NOT do code in class. Says not to buy the book but assigns work that needs it. Doesn't care about teaching (his words). No-note coding exams impossible without notes.
Tough course but Prof. Suero does his best in condensing each concept to be understandable. Does a couple labs, few assignments, which are either from the textbook or original. Beware of the final exam though, he'll say its on one topic but be on another. He offers extra credit and shares info on other IT/Coding concepts/languages, if asked.
I'm about to graduate and I hope my new university has teachers like this. One of the best teachers I've had.
idc what other people say he is good he took his time with a lot of students and I am a decent coder because him you will regret not taking him
hes ok youll come back and thanks me later
I took professor suero at MCC and NJIT he tries hard for all the students to like him ill give you an advice do his labs and assignments make sure you understand and you will be fine this isnt annonimous im peter
While Professor suero has a deep knowledge of the subject, his lecture style can be a bit dry at times he should Incorporate more real-world examples could enhance the learning experience he is very approachable and willing to help students outside of class
Professor Suero is a great lecturer with a clear understanding of the material. However, the exams can be quite challenging and sometimes cover material that wasn't emphasized in class. I appreciate his willingness to clarify concepts which has been very helpful
i didnot get the grade that I wanted but prof suero tried to help me the most he could I wish he gave us extra credit tho i would take the class again with him i would get an A easily
I want to sincerely thank you for such an engaging & educational summer session I've taken several coding classes @ Rutgers but none have been as impactful as this one. Your dedication to ensuring we understand the material truly stands out You are one of the best professors I've had & I hope my remaining classes @ Rutgers will be just as rewarding
pros: he curve at the end of the class so do not be scare. I am sure he wouldnt want to see this comment. cons: sometimes his questions are not straight foward and you have to ask him questions during the exam.
Great teacher I did terrible on the first exam, but stuck through and did better the rest of the way. he's cool people's.
As a spring semester conclude, he was pretty cool teacher. it would be better if he provides some extra credit. he helped me to code better and learn new things. he helps students at the end of the semester without them noticing ( he did it to me ) so do not be scare during his lecture.
i am taking him over the summer and he explains the concepts very well. I enjoyed his lecture hes better than my other professors by far.
tbh he teaches all and he knew my group was not good at programming he took it slow and helped us a lot with the assignments and grades in general
