Awsome teacher. Is a very very nice person who actually cares and deals with students like an actual friend would. She will help you and has a sort of leave nobody behind. You will learn in her class and actually enjoy it. her classes are refugess
BRENDA IS GREAT!TAKE ANY OF HER CLASSES AND YOU WILL LEARN SO MUCH ABOUT YOU AND ABOUT HOE OTHERS COMMUNICATE WITH YOU! BY LEARNING HOW CRITICAL THINK AND INTERPERSONAL IS THE BEST YOU LEARN SO MUCH ABOUT BODY LANGUAGE IT IS AWSOME! TAKE HER CLASSES!
Brenda is the best speech teacher! She's really helpful and easygoing. She doesnt mind if you turn in things late. There are no tests but there a easy 5 question quizzes. Anyone can make a "A" in her class. She's helpful and funny!
Bredna is a very happy and easy-going teacher. She has a midterm and final term. After every chapter there is a quiz but u can use ur notes for the quizes and finals. She assgines few papers and one speech and one group presentation. Class is very intersting.
Brenda is an awesome communicator and makes the learning process a lot easier. She's has a great sense of humor which adds a lot of flavor to her class! I learned so many new skills that are going to help my interpersonal relationships.
Super easy class. She makes it fun, if you like talking infront of a class. Laid back teacher. Definitely take this class.
This is one of the best teachers I have ever had. I've taken three of her classes and have enjoyed evrey one of them. You are on a first name basis from day one with her. Do take her classes, you won't be disappointed.
Brenda is the tightest speech teacher at Ohlone, everyone should take one of her classes
omg.... brenda is the setest teacher ever.... she is so0o0o adorable and funny..... shes super easy as well... u should totally take her
too easy to not take her
brenda is one of the nicest teachers at ohlone
Take her she is the sickest teacher @ Ohlone... you better hurry up though all her classes fill up fast!
If you want to actually learn something and get an A at the same time, take a class with Brenda!
Brenda is an extremely disorganized teacher. I took two of her classes and by the end of the semester the entire class was frustrated with her lack of consistency and her empty promises. I did not learn anything from her class at all. If she makes a promise with you, be sure to write it down because she forgets and you'll pay for it later. Not a go
Mrs. Ahntholz in my opinion is a very great teacher. she is very sincere and helpful i think she the perfect career to teach, because she's great at teaching speech
Not a good class to take if you're a very organized person. Particularly when she gives her final group project towards the end of the semester.
Teacher or not, Brenda is one of the nicest people ive ever met. hella laid back and chill, her classes are a good time. I'm probably still going to fail, but its not because she didnt try, im just a lazy bum. Brenda is great.

This teacher is one of the best teachers I've had. I am planning on taking more of her classes next smemster.
I'm a speech major. I've taken every speech class at Ohlone, all with Brenda. There's a reason. She's so down to earth and casual. She destroys any anxiety you might feel within minutes. She's helpful, passionate, and super sweet! She can teach you a lot as long as you want to learn. She's fun and intelligent! I've never had a better teacher. Ever.
she is one of the greatest teachers in ohlone college.i would like to take all my speech classes with her.
She is the best teacher ever. Very clear, I learned a lot with her. She is AWSOME!
From an administrative point of view- she always gets her grades in on time!
I dislike speaking publicly, but Brenda made it so easy. I used to have trouble getting in front of a group of people, but not so much anymore! If you need to take a speech class, take hers! She is one of the best professors I have ever had. Very helpful, understanding, etc. Take her classes..you can't go wrong!
one of the best teachers ever... everyone should take her class
She is perhaps the MOST interesting and FUN teacher that one could have for a speech class, very helpful and trys her level best to make the class interesting. There are always quizzes on readings that she assign. Text book MATTERS! Projects are always fun. grades easy but she tends to looser her temper quickly
She is the best teacher ever….. I took all of my speech classes with her; she is very nice and fair when it comes to grading and tests. You can get an “A” in any of her classes if you study and do your part. She is very approachable if you need help. Over all, wonderful teacher.
Awsome Teacher! she even remembers your name! if you want fun and excitement this is where to go!
be sure to show up to class, do your classwork, and DO YOUR NOTES which is homework!! These are vital in getting an A in her class. and be very ready for your persuasion speech.
so fun!
brenda was such anamazing teacher. she your answered questions with out any delay and was always very helpful. if you missed one or two classes you really didnt miss up on much as long as you did the reading. this class was very enjoyable and was my vaorite one last semester. she is very caring and has an excellent teaching technique!
Brenda is one of my favorite teacher at Ohlone. Attend class, read the chapters is the key to succeed. Her grading is easy, and lot of extra credits. She even gave out extra credits almost weight the same as the midterm. Also, sit in front, get yourself involve, no one should had any problem with her class.
for as nice and caring as she is, she will promise things that she does not see thru.she will tell everyone that they have an A in the class, but then not all of us do.attendance is HUGE for her..i got 100% on EVERYTHING...and missed class here and there, and she gave me a B.. i didnt think it was fair, but thats her. so be ready to always show...
brenda is an awesome person and teacher. she really makes an effor tto get to know each student. lots of group and interactive work. total cake class, but very interesting and educational. she is taking a semester off the fall to have her 2nd child, but when she goes back u better take this class! that was the only class that i refused to skip!
If u don't take her, U R STUPID. Awesome teacher and very easy going. I am now at SFSU, when i took her she was carrying and we missed some meetings. If don't wanna take spch101, this is the class 4 u. If u r nervous about spch, don't worry this class will be a breeze and u will be out a there with a good grade(assuming u put some effort). Take her
Professor Anholtz is a totally awsome teacher. She actually cared about how well you did in the course, as well as your whole academic outlook.
I have never liked giving speeches, but her class was great! She makes it so comfortable and inviting that you feel like you are just talking to a bunch of friends; not giving a speech to a bunch of strangers. She will make sure you do well. You will enjoy her class...I promise!
She's a wonderful teacher and person. She'll make you feel comfortable on the first day of class. Take her and you will definitely get an A and won't regret it. She's very knowledgable. Just make sure you do all of the work, and there's no reason you won't do well. A+
The best of the Best! She actually cares about you doing good in the class! she will push you to do better and actually you will get something out of the class.Go to class, do your work and she will love you!(thats what a student is supposed to do anyways) Best speech teacher ever!
Enjoyed class. Great teacher. Nothing left to say. Read reviews below mine.
Had her for Interpersonal Communication. Love, LOve, LOVe, LOVE her! She wants you to do well in the class and will make sure you do so. Just do your work and you will be fine.
She's the best teacher in the world. The person below is one of those 1/100 type people. She is always there and answers all questions. Wonderful person, A+ personality, full of enthusiasm. I wish her the best! Very caring professor and wonderful human being. We need more people like her in the world, it'd be a better place!
She is the best speech teacher among all. She try to train you as a professtional sppeecher in your style but not just follow what"those speecher" should be. If you take her class, you will learn a lot in a really happy enviornment w/ a ideal grade. And, you will remember every classmate's name, because you can feel everyone is your best fd!!
She is really cute and so adorable!!!
much better than harrison
Best teacher at Ohlone. Very nice but also very helpful, clear, and understanding. She will challenge you, but help you find your interest and relate it to your life so you will LEARN. Plus she teaches very fun subjects and uses fun examples to help. A+++!! Made Speech/Comm my 2nd favorite subject.
I took Brenda for Speech 101, 103 and 105, Do i need to say more?? Brenda is a down to earth person, her classes are fun and interesting and i would recommend her for ANY speech class at ohlone! Just do the work, show up and get an A, not hard at all, and not alot of work.
Ridiculous how easy this class was. 5 nights in the entire semester, not one homework assignment, the quiz we got to use notes, you get the idea. It's terrible that she's still teaching, as it allows the stupidest people to pass her classes with As. Easiest. A. Evar!!!!
Had her for two classes, Interpersonal Communications and Critical Thinking/Persuasion. Had little interest in speech before this but she made it awesome and interesting. Easy class too, but I still thought I learned a lot. She's really flexible too, I was under a lot of stress last semester and she let me turn in a couple assignments late.
ONE OF THE NICEST AND EASIEST PROFESSORS AROUND. She'll make you work for the grade you want, but she's understanding. I loved her class, we even had a potluck for fun! She's very polite and actually cares about what you do (if you do talk to her). Highly recommended prof. She's fun, lively, and makes you want more out of speech and communications.
Best professor in Ohlone. Really help raise your GPA at the same time, help your speech skills.
Brenda is amazing! She makes public speaking a breeze. She is a fair grader & does not give many homework assignments. She also provides you with clear instructions for the in class speeches. Her class is a lot of fun, even if you don't like speaking before an audience. Also, her critiques on your speeches are always supportive & positive.Take her!
She's a great person. The class was fun and easy to understand. I took back more information than I would have with a strict teacher who only cared about grades rather than the quality of the class. More professors should be like her.
I really think that Brenda Ahntholz is one of the best teachers I have ever had. She really cares about the students and wants them to succeed and that makes me want to be there and learn what she is teaching. :) I recommend her 100%.
great teacher
Brenda is very nice and she loves to talk. She makes speech less nerve wrecking because she makes it feel like you're just having a conversation with her and the class. Take her class and you'll know what I mean.
Nice teacher. Highly recommended.
She is such a great teacher! I was nervous that i had to take public speaking but shes so nice and makes it easy to get in front of the class! I highly recommend her
Brenda is the nicest instructor that I've met at Ohlone! Tests are simple if you pay attention in class and read the book. She offers a ton of extra credit if you don't think you're doing well in her class.
I took 103 and 104 (hybrid class) with Brenda. It was a bit tiring to go once a month, but time really flies when you're in class. There's a couple of papers, but they are not difficult at all if you start a week in advanced. She's a very nice teacher overall. (Beware that a 92 or lower is already a B.) Everyone gets A's if you do your best.
She was very positive and extremely supportive, but she didn't give nearly enough feedback. Good class for someone afraid of public speaking, but I felt like I could have learned more.
Brenda is very passionate about what she does. The class is not hard at all if you're actually looking to learn. All of the assignments and papers are super easy and understandable. strongly recommend her as a teacher!!
She is super cute, nice, and helpful. She makes the class interesting and fun.
shes awesome, but You are responsible for keeping track of assignments because due dates are flexible
She sucks!!!!!Worst teacher ever! She can't teach. She is always late.
she is very nice and cute. she is the best teacher ever in speech department. Very helpful.
Such an amazing teacher. Very understanding and easy to follow. Allows late work.
Always late, very knowledgeable and extremely easy to get along with. Grades based on 94, 84, and so on. Assignments are scattered all over the place. Get your assignments done and you won't have to worry when she changes the due date on you (lenient). Turn in everything or else you won't get an A. Besides that, really an easy A; go with the flow.
Brenda is amazing. Easy A, and she helps you a lot. You will learn quite a lot in class. She is so adorable though! Haha but yes. TAKE HER.
She is one of the best professor I ever met in my whole life. I was a very shy student; however, she helped me so much to get courage and be able to present in front of everyone. I highly recommend her. Its an easy A class. Brenda rocks ????
She is the BEST college professor!!! There is no doubt that one shouldn't take her. Really easy to talk to and she is very knowledgeable.
She is very nice and energetic. She is very encouraging and always compliment her students. She's a really easy grader of projects, essays, and in-class-quizzes. But her online midtermsfinal are somewhat hard.
AMAZING! I'm not a Speech & Comm major, but she turned me into one. 3 speeches required to give. She gives tons of extra credit, but it's really not needed. Honestly, just take her class & you'll do fine even if you don't like speaking in front of the class. She'll make you feel comfortable. Need to do a lab manual & 16 hours of lab time.
Best. Teacher. Ever. Brenda is such a joy to be around and she knows exactly how to give out recognition and make you feel proud of yourself. Just an amazing human being in general. You would never feel discouraged with her as your teacher.
Interesting topics and enjoyable topics. Latter part of semester students take turns teaching a lesson, but easy to do well. Midterm and final were watching a movie and applying a couple lessons with it. One paper due at end of semester but very open ended.
What every professor should be like. She listens to her students and accommodates their needs. Her class discussions are interesting! We get out early every class. Her only fault is that she shows up late to class, but I'm sure we all have
I really enjoy her class! She is very nice to all her students, helps them to build confidence, and she is not a tough grader. I will definitely take her class(es) again! :D
An absolute sweetheart who makes class interesting. Yeah she's a bit unorganized, but makes up for it by being a great grader. I got an A with little effort. I'm definitely taking her class again and recommended her to all my friends.
This lady is seriously sooo nice. The class is basically 1 presentation with a partner, a few very short writing assignments, and maybe a quiz or two. The midterm & final are both just watching a movie then writing a short essay on it with a partner. Basically if you show effort, attend class & are nice you will get an A. Love her
Brenda is super nice, as everyone else has previously stated. This class was very easy, but I wouldn't take it if you're not a communications major or hold high interest in the subject. My group members for a project were terrible, but we still received an A on it. The class is a very easy A, but boring if you're not interested in the subject.
One of the nicest and most caring professors I've ever had. Her class is a super easy A and it's one of the few classes at Ohlone where the students are interested. I definitely recommend her class, you'll learn a lot and really look forward to it everyday.
Lovely lady, easy grader. However, she is very unorganized and tends to cancel class last minute. Doesn't have the clearest grading criteria. Super nice, extremely encouraging, and makes public speaking fun!
If you were not a native English speaker, don't ever take this professor. You would never learn anything from Ahntholz. She can just cancel class in short moment before class start. 93% to get an A... and it's not easy to get it from her. I spent time outside school, com lab . . .Got A every Assignment, and A- on Final. Oh yeah, I got B at the end.
She is always late for class. In her class, she doesnt teach anything in the book and she just wants to gossips. She just makes something more complicated. Never trust what she said to you as a compliment because that's not real. She always does the opposite what she said.
Brenda is a super sweet person and really funny. She cares about social issues and encourages student voice. My class was a study abroad trip to Spain with a paper due at the end and she was awesome to travel with. She had clear expectations on the paper and is super cool and relaxed. High recommend!!
She was an easy A. However, she can be very disorganized which sometimes throws me off. We didn't really do much in that class and she barely gives assignments or projects until like a month before finals where she starts procrastinating and giving us more work to do but arent hard. I would take her if u want an easy A and not stress.
Easy grader with little work, but Professor Ahntholz is habitually late and disorganized. Still recommend this Professor if you're looking for a easy GE class.
Worst class I have ever taken. No structure, her lectures are just her ranting. She doesn't grade on time. Brags that she's "so busy and on top of her OTHER classes" while she neglected ours. Didn't get things back to us. Would just shout "you all just get A's". Like I'm paying to be here and learn something. Entire semester was a waste.
Her class is an easy A, but you don't learn much from the class. She is perpetually late to class by 10-15 minutes and frequently cancels without notice. She loves to shout "you all get A's!" and end class early... Take her classes if you want an easy grade but don't want to learn lol.
Easiest A. You want an A? Take her class. But beware she does come to class late frequently and cancels class unexpectedly. She does mean it when she says "you get all A's!"
She is very nice professor. She wants to give everyone As. Very easy class if you do all the work. She offer extra credits.
Pro. Ahntholz's a fun + caring person. Her lectures were hilarious w/ a lot of real-life examples. She gave u life exp. through activities: listening to different speakers, watching movies-> analyzing the characters, drawing+ joining fair through the group works. Easy tests. Do yr works. Fun learning+enjoyable class. Highly recommended!
Very nice professor who gives good feedback.
She is very chill and cool professor. Always wants to help student when they need help. Do all assignments you will get easy A.
Brenda!! Is honestly the best professor Ive ever been with... she truly cares about you and your grade in class. Her class is very easy. Especially if you do not like speaking in front of the class.... take this class... you wont be doing much of that... even if you do speechs its like the whole class sits in a circle to do the speech.
Super chill & funny teacher but extremely disorganized when it comes to assignments. Very lenient on due dates and everything but forgets to collect half of the assignments she assigns. Big plus is that for my Communicatin class, the average class length was around 25 minutes when its supposed to be an hour & 30.
Im generally a quiet kid but you definitely do have to speak and share things with the class. Professor Ahntholz was funny and would always keep the class interesting. The only problem I had with her class was that you wouldnt really know your grade until it was released after the semester ended.
I was incredibly nervous to take a class where I had to speak in front of people, but I needed it for my degree. Enter Brenda Ahntholz, and all of my fears were washed away. She makes you feel incredibly valued and provides excellent feedback, leaving you realizing that you matter and that you will be successful. She is funny and kind too!
If you like structure and to planned assignments ahead of time this is the wrong class. Zoom participation is required, but it's pretty easy. Her due dates are very flexible and she comes across as scattered. I don't think online works well for this class.
covid comment: She is really nice, alot of group work stuff which does not matter that much. Class is overall pretty easy
Professor Ahntholz is friendly and wants to help you earn an A. Make sure you participate in class discussions! She's really nice and you can tell she loves what she does. I actually have learned a lot about different theories and it's interesting hearing feedback from other classmates. Make sure you take her class she's awesome
Prof Ahntholz is really amazing! She is really nice and wants everyone to pass. The class consists of one big group project which lasts the whole semester (depending on presenting date) and a midterm/final. Super relaxing class and if you're a little shy, this professor will try her best to help you out!
EVERYBODY take one of professor Ahntholz's classes, you will learn so much she is very caring and respectful, and she makes every one of her students feel important. This woman's knowledge of everything in the communication world is impeccable, and she is so excited to teach everything she knows. You want to learn t a great grade take her class
She is honestly the sweetest Professor! Only 3 speeches, two solo and one group (which is the final) and quite a few workbook pages that go along with them but dont take much time to complete at all. I missed my final because my 3 alarms didnt wake me up but she was kind enough to allow me to present to her in a private zoom! Shes wonderful!
No doubt Brenda is supportive and lenient on deadlines. But as a teacher, about 5% of lectures were actually useful, forgets about homework she assigns, feedback consists of 3-4 words if at all, and not a quick turnaround on grades. Had no idea what my grade was going to be until 2 weeks after the semester had already ended.
Professor Ahntholz is amazing, she is super friendly and very caring to see how everyone is doing throughout the class. She is always willing to adjust due dates and assignments whenever necessary and the class itself is not hard, you just have to be willing to put in the work. She grades very easy, and her TA, Justin is very easy to reach as well.
I had Professor Ahntholz for COMM 122 and overall she was a good teacher She's funny and her class is engaging even though its on zoom. She doesn't give a lot of homework and if you do the assignments you will get an A. Her class is not that hard and if you want to take an easy GE course than her class may be the one for you to take.
I live Brenda's classes!! She is so energetic and engaging in her class sessions, and knows the subject matter really well. Sometimes it can be confusing on what is due, but she's not an online teacher and during this Pandemic, the transition back to in-person learning was different for sure. But nonetheless, I felt like I learned so much from her!
I loved taking Professor Ahntholz for Intercultural Communication! You really do learn a lot from her and by the end of class, you really do know all your classmates. We watch a lot of films, videos and we even played Monopoly, how fun is that! The coursework is very light and manageable and she's always willing to extend due dates when necessary!
Taking Brenda for Intro to Comm Theory was a 10/10 decision. The course is very easy with a majority of the lectures actually being students giving presentations on different comm theories. Brenda also does a great job connecting the theories to real life and helps connect everyone in the class to make it less awkward when speaking.
Professor Ahntholz is very knowledgeable about the material that she teaches. The class work as well as the speeches were straight forward and you can easily get A's, but you do have to put in some kind of effort to get it done. She also has as a very fun personality and it seems like she likes her job. Extra points for an approachable TA.
Professor Ahntholz was a fun and entertaining professor .Her speeches interactive, but she is also super accessible outside of class. Her and her TA are understanding and really want you to succeed. The class is an easy A as long as you put in the work and try your best! I ended up lower because I fell apart with turning things in, so do the work!
I had to attempt taking public speaking for the 3rd time in order to graduate and transfer now with Professor Ahntholz I have finally gotten over some of my fears about giving speeches. There is plenty of opportunities with the assigned speeches and comm lab tutors to improve your skills. I felt very supported to practice speaking in her course.
Take this class. She is very approachable and fun to be around. She wants and will give an A if you literally just do the work which is already very minimal. The only way to fail is on purpose she is quite literally the definition of cool professor.
Professor Ahntholz is an amazing, and understanding teacher. In the beginning of the semester I didn't really participate too much and was only looking to pass for credits but she inspired me in a way that got me to be more actively involved and cooperate more and get out of my comfort zone. Highly Recommend this teacher.
great teacher, very likeable and easy to work with.
even though this class was online, it was very straight forward
Professor Ahntholz is a great professor who pays attentions to her students needs. She is always looking to help and create an environment where the students can have fun, feel comfortable, and learn easily. Definitely would take her class again!
Even with this class being all online, Professor Ahntholz made sure that it was still interactive and fun. Assignments were very fun and relatable to today's social issues which in my opinion got me more attentive and wanting to do a lot for the assignment, Great professor and always gives us as a class the tools we need to make sure we get an A.
Professor is very passionate about the subject material and will give fantastic feedback and reactions to your participation or work. Grading does take a long while and course is mostly organized, however if you are ever confused both the prof and TA are very happy to help!
Was a pleasure to take this class, Professor Ahntholz helped me get out of my shell and be more confident in myself through fun and educating lessons. The class atmosphere was also extremely motivating and made going to class fun.I would recommend anyone to take Professor Ahntholz's classes as she is very understanding and is always willing to help.
It was a lot of fun taking this class. The professor is really kind, if students need extra time, she will extend deadlines. In an online class, she made sure that the tasks were enjoyable and that the students engaged. Justin, the T.A., was really helpful. Whatever question we have, he will answer it at any moment. This class was managed well.
Professor Ahntholz is great and so is her TA Justin who responds very fast. I couldn't turn in an assignment on time due to my internet going down but Justin was kind enough to grade it.
Professor Ahntholz is a very genuine and caring person. I am an introvert but she would nod and smile whenever giving speeches which made me comfortable and confident while presenting in front of the class. What matters to her is that you are passionate and yourself when you are giving your speech. She is very approachable if you have any concerns.
Her style is more laidback rather than fully professional, which is a nice change of pace from other classes. She is especially reliable during the times she is in the communication lab, helping to make the directions more clear.
She is able to keep the content interesting with her comparatively less professional and more personable style, and her specific content, such as her use of a film for a final, helped made her distinct from other professors.
sense of humor like no other, always kept the mood up, loves to talk, really engaging. most of our grade was the 3 speeches (ones a group speech) and lab hours.
I want to thank Professor Ahntholz and her TA, Justin for creating such a welcoming and
I want to thank Professor Ahntholz and her TA, Justin for creating such a welcoming and inclusive class where we could all openly share ideas without being judged and because of that just how much we all learned from each other. The Professor was super flexible with assignments and the TA responded promptly to any questions. Highly recommend class.
She was the best professor yet, easy grading, but you do have to keep up with what is going on on your own because sometimes she forgets to explain herself.
The professor is chill and she is an easy grader as long as you turn in your assignments on time. Although, she does take a while to submit the grades and forgets to reply at times. But if you are ever confused about any of the assignments the TA, Justin is very helpful and replies relatively quickly. Would recommend taking this class for GE credit
Professor Ahntholz is a great teacher. She doesn't give a lot of homework but if you do the assignments she'll give you a good grade. She does help her students and if you have any questions you can go to her office hours or email her on canvas she will reply back to you. She has her T.A Justin who is also very helpful like her as well.
I took her in person class and it was so easy. She grades easy and is super nice about late work. Her TA does lock a lot of the assignments but if you ask her she'll unlock them right away. We did have to do a group speech which was annoying but overall not a stressful class.
Professor Ahntholz is a nice lady and her class is easy however she is very unorganized so its on you to keep up with whats going on even though it isn't clearly outlined. Just attend most classes and ask questions when something is unclear (will happen a lot) and this is an easy A.
One of the best prof. I have had at Ohlone. She is caring and compassionate and her personality is welcoming and genuine. I think she is one of the nicest and most lenient acceptor of late work and grader at Ohlone helping you focus on being a great public speaker. Paired with the outstanding and fast response help of her TA, Justin. A must take.
Prof. Ahntholz is exceptional! Her passion for communication shines through. With the invaluable assistance of Justin, who provides timely reminders, the class is organized and enriching. Prof. Ahntholz fosters a supportive community, offers valuable feedback, and ensures student success. Highly recommend!
I enjoyed Professor Ahntholz class, its an easy course and she is very lenient. She is funny and she cares about her students. Her T.A Justin is very helpful and whenever you have any questions you can email him and he'll respond right away. She wants to give her students good grades so if you do the work in her class she will give you an A.
Professor Ahntholz is great! She's not a harsh grader and is very understanding. Class can be unorganized and sometimes it's difficult to get in contact with her outside of class, but her TA Justin is very helpful when you need help or have questions. We had 2 group projects and presentations, 1 smaller project, 2 papers, and a few open-note tests.
Professor Ahntholz is a great professor with a great attitude and passion for communications. She's super helpful and super lenient. Her TA Justin is also very helpful and makes sure to address any questions you may have. Overall, she is a great professor who is extremely understanding and just wants to see her students succeed. 10/10 recommend!
She was amazing, the class loved her so much as well. Professor Ahntholz was an easy grader and there was not much homework. Was a super fun class overall!
Brenda was a great professor. the homework load was light, but you have to read a lot. you barely have to study for this class and no papers, exams, or quizzes. just discussion posts, some assignments, and a group project for the gender sex fair.
I loved Professor Ahntholz! She is so sweet and understanding, I highly recommend taking her class. I was able to meet a lot of new people and she encouraged us to make friends. The work load is pretty manageable and she is super understanding if you need to submit something late. I would definitely take another class with her!
She is an excellent teacher. Her advice and feedback have greatly improved my speaking skills. She doesn't overwhelm us with homework, but I've still learned a lot. Her friendly and relaxed teaching style suits those who don't handle pressure well. I definitely recommend her class for a stress-free learning experience that helps you grow.
Professor Ahntholz is one of the best teachers I've had, she's very funny and explains the course materials very well. She provided us with the textbook when we needed it, and there weren't many homework assignments other than the discussion boards and a few quizzes. Overall, it's an easy A if you attend the lectures and do all the hw assignments.
Professor Ahntholz is amazing and does everything in her power to ensure success in her class. She doesn't assign too much outside work besides a few discussions and labs, so the focus is your speeches. She's very flexible with late work and her TA, Justin is amazing for help or guidance. I missed a few classes, otherwise I would have gotten an A.
This was a 6-week summer course, which required 3 speeches every other week. This placed heavy emphasis on participation and attendance. Professor Ahntholz clearly outlines the grading criteria and has a TA that can help answer questions and give advice. Her in-class structure is very comfortable and personable.
Best class I ever had. She is amazing. Formality high recommendation.
Prof. Ahntholz is a passionate educator who inspires her students to reach their full speaking potential. Easy grader and gives great feedback for improvement. Only thing was her instructions are a bit vague and we didn't learn enough speaking skills in 6 weeks, but didn't affect me. Her TA (Justin) was amazing and gave great support. Recommended!
Brenda's summer COMM-111 is great for students just getting their GE requirement done. Her leniency, clear speech criteria, and supportive TA create an excellent learning environment. Extra credit opportunities and just doing most of the work guarantees an A. But, those with a deep interest in communication might prefer it in fall/spring.
Highly recommend! They radiate great energy throughout the day and class has always been fun, especially during the summer. For a professor who has never taught a communications class in six weeks, they did an outstanding job.
Professor was caring and understanding. I had her class for a summer course and It went by very quickly. There was a lot of lab homework. The lectures were short and for most of the speeches that you present, you learn how to do it by following online directions. She takes a while to grade things, but she gets it done.
Professor Brenda is amazing. I took public speaking with her and I can say her class was one of the best experiences I have had at Ohlone. The only down side is there is a lot of work for this class. However as long as you stay on top of it you can achieve and A grade. In sum, I would recommend this professor for any comm studies class.
Highly highly recommend Professor Ahntholz! She is hilarious and makes learning fun! She sincerely wants her students to succeed, so there are minimal tests and quizzes. There are a couple of assignments each week but they are very doable, and not too difficult. If you stay on task and do your work, you will have an A. TAKE HER CLASS!
Professor Ahntholz made the class very fun and interesting. She also made me feel comfortable in talking around large groups of people. She is very enthusiastic and entertaining. Very down to earth. I would 100% take this class again!
Very easy Professor! Definitely Reccommend! I took her over the summer and we did not have any tests or quizzes. Just needed to show up to class. If you miss any assignments you can request her to open it up for you and she would still grade the work without any penalties! Definitely one of the best professors ever!
Very easy Professor! Definetly reccomend! I took her over the summer and we had no tests or quizzes! There were no big essays or papers to write and memorize. Even if you miss assignments, you are still able to do it late with no penalties! Honestly the best Professor I had so far. Just make sure you show up to class.
The Professor is great, the videos were helpful. The instructions are understandable. The assignment was fair and decent to work on. I've taken a Summer, class, there were lots of work due to a short six weeks, which is fair. The class was fun to take.
Prior to taking this professor's class, I was practically afraid of presentations. However, professor Ahntholz's feedback on my presentations has helped me not only improve the quality of the structures of my presentation, but also has helped me improve confidence while presenting. This class was very helpful and I would definitely recommend it.
Professor Ahntholz wants all of her students to succeed. She is very nice and makes her class very interesting. There were minimal tests and weekly homework which is easily doable and not very difficult. She is very understanding and a greatly entertaining.
Very easy and understanding. Truly set up the class tone for a family vibe.
Professor Ahntholz is a wonderful professor. She always gave encouraging feedback on our presentations and helped us gain confidence in ourselves. She was also very understanding when I needed an extension due to sickness. The lab work and assignments were a bit tedious, but that's to be expected in a 6-week summer course. Easy A, I recommend her!
This teacher is very easy going and her classes are always such a hoot ! Definitely recommend this class for anyone who needs to get better at public speaking . She really knows how to get her students to come out their shell.
Professor Ahntholz made the class easy for students to pass. She didnt assign too much work and she always complies with her students. She is also very flexible and understanding. I definitely recommend taking her for this class or any class. The work was very manageable and easy, she definitely made this class easy for you to complete/pass.
Respectful and understanding professor, amazing experience!
Super nice and very communicative
Had so much fun
Honestly such a great class where you develop many public speaking skills. All you have to do is your work and you'll get an A or B very achievable. Definitely one of the easier courses to take.
Professor Ahntholz is very nice for teaching lectures and she is an easy grader. This class will require two speeches, and one group presentation. It is compulsory that you take a lab throughout the whole semester, and have at most 16 hours. She has a TA Justin he is so helpful, helping me to accept my late assignments. He's a great TA,really good.
Professor Ahntholz was my Intercultural Communication Professor. She was super sweet and understanding. She was super passionate and I loved it. I would and am taking another one of her class again next semester. I love the freedom of expression in that class and it was done in a constructive manner.
I took her Conflict Management online course, and it was very interesting to learn about how conflict plays a role in communication. We did discussions, group projects and we watched a few shows and analyzed the various conflicts videos. Her TA, Justin was super helpful, always sending reminders and I would totally recommend taking her class.
I really enjoyed Professor Ahnthoiz communication Conflict class. She is an amazing professor. She replies promptly and gives great feedback. I will take one of her communication classes again
I took her online 1 unit class on Conflict Management and it was amazing. She had lectures and readings for us to learn more about Conflicts and it was interesting to learn about the various ways to handle conflict through methods of Communication. Not too much work and the Professor responds to emails promptly. Would recommend taking her class.
I'm currently taking her for Public Speaking and she is wonderful, so caring and super supportive! If you are afraid of speaking in public and giving presentations, would recommend Professor Ahntholz. She fosters a really supportive and inclusive class environment and the workload is manageable. She even has a really helpful TA, named Justin too!
I took her for Communication Theory, and it was a well organized course, easy to follow. Professor is willing to work with you with any problems that arise throughout the semester and the workload is not a lot, with good time management. You get to watch Juno and analysis it, as one of the assignments. Would recommend her class for sure. Take it!
Professor Ahntholz is a really lively and friendly professor. At the starting of the semester, she promised us that we would get over our fear of public speaking, and with the way she has coached us, I can say I have gotten over the fear and I have also improved so much. You can truly express yourself in her class. Great professor, take her!
I took her for Gender and Sexual Identity COMM, and it was a great class. Despite the topic, she created such a warm, welcoming environment where everyone was freely open to share their thoughts and ideas without feeling judged. That alone, earned her my respect. This is a discussion based course, along with the Gender Sex Fair project. Take her!
Professor Ahntholz is a very biased and two-faced individual. She may seem nice but she's not. She plays favoritism and she tends to favor students who stance on the far-left side. If she finds out if your political stance don't align with her, she will purposely give you lower scores on papers.
I took her online class, and it was fairly straightforward, with weekly assignments each week. Sometimes it can feel like the instructions aren't clear, but you can always reach out to her TA, and he'll clear it all up for you. The workload is simple, and you should have no problems passing the course. Pretty easy A course in my opinion. Take her.
Professor Ahntholz's class is a really fun and engaging one, you really do learn the basics of persuasion and how to properly persuade someone. You don't need to take English 101C, this class can replace it and I highly recommend it! The workload is manageable and the assignments aren't too hard if you stay on top of things. Recommendable class!
Professor Ahntholz created a warm and welcoming classroom environment where everyone could feel comfortable giving speeches to an audience. She is super sweet and very understanding of everyone's individual circumstances and works will all to ensure they succeed. Her TA, Justin is also super helpful and responds instantly to questions. A must take!
I had the pleasure of taking Professor Ahntholz's COMM 118. One of the highlights of the course was making a booth at the gender fair that she organized. It was an incredible experience that not only highlighted important issues related to gender and communication but also encouraged active participation and critical thinking among students.
very nice , she does extend deadlines if you asked. she gives advice if you have questions overall not tough grader. makes you feel more comfortable public speaking.
Super chill class and pace. Professor gives straightforward feedback to speeches. Most fun, easy A you can get!
She is a very optimistic and open-minded person. It can be seen that she has a big heart. She gave very little homework. She pays more attention to students' individual development and deeper communication. She always imparts a wealth of knowledge to students in a pleasant classroom atmosphere. Warm reminder, be quick when selecting her class. :)
I wanted to thank Professor Ahntholz and Justin for crafting together such an amazing semester in Public Speaking. I was afraid of giving speeches, but Professor Ahntholz truly provided me the space to get out of my comfort zone to excel in speech giving. I wouldn't have passed the class without the constant support of her TA, as well. Recommended!
I ended the course with a 101.51%. Honestly, I like the professor, she is super flexible and if you late assignments, you can ask to reopen to resubmit. But I never late my assignments. If you attend the calss regularly, you will get definitely an A. Additionally, she provides 2 to 3 extra credit opportunities as well.
I ended the course with a 101%. Honestly, I love the professor, the energy that she brings and the leniency she has for her students. It's pretty straightforward. I don't think anyone in my class received anything lower than a B in terms of speech performances. You get tons of extra credit opportunities as well so no need to worry about grades!
She is so kind and gives a fast response. Her lectures are not that though, you just have to participate in the class and make a speech. Definitely take her class!
She probably is the nicest professor you can ever meet at Ohlone College. Her communication courses are amazing. She cares so much about students. You probably will never feel bored in her class.
I ended the course with a 104.54%.She gives a lot of extra credit. This is the best class I've been to at Ohlone College.I was afraid of giving speeches at first and she helped me to get out of my comfort zone. She is an amazing professor and her TA, Justin has been really helpful to me. I can contact him literally at 1 am and he could still reply.
The class was easy as long as you showed up to class and listened. Due dates usually get pushed back, and she grades nicely. She does get behind in grading, though, so you don't really know your grade until after the semester ends.
I enjoyed her class so much that I can't believe I got an easy grade A (I did extra credit). I recommend you guys take her class she's a really easy grader and very consistent. I took her class in Spring 2023.
I took this class for GE and wasn't expecting much, but I enjoyed it. The professor was very kind and caring and the material was interesting as it could be. Sometimes you might feel as if you are lost and confused but she has an amazing TA, Justin who is a text away and clears everything up! Highly recommend getting to know her TA. Recommended!
Professor Ahntholz is understanding and gives good feedback. The class was scattered at times; assignments were dropped, class was frequently cancelled, and schedule changed every week. I completed some ungraded assignments and took a 0 on others. Don't work ahead on assignments. Decent class. Justin, her TA, is a charm.
Honestly, this class is pretty easy, make sure to show up and just do the minimal required work, and you'll get an A no problem. If you are confused, make sure to ask the Professor Ahntholz, or reach out to the class TA, Justin. Both are super helpful, and her TA responses instantly, even late into the night. Straightforward class, recommended!
This is a very chill class, it only meets once a week with the rest being done online, there honestly isn't a whole lot of work. Most of the class sessions are discussion based with a few assignments that need to be completed online along with the Gender Sex Fair Project. Very doable class with amazing support from her TA, Justin aside from prof.
The amount of support she provided us was tremendous to my success in the course itself. She laid out a very comfortable class environment where everybody felt welcomed and encouraged to share ideas without feeling judged. I loved the course material, how relatable it was to college students. Assignments were fairly easy and straightforward.
I'm currently taking her summer Persuasion & Critical Thinking course and while it was a small class, she has taught us so much in this short 6 week course. The assignments are fairly straightforward and as long as you did them on time, you got full credit (mostly). She provides a lot of assistance in class & outside she has an amazing TA, Justin.
This class is extremely easy if you do the very minimal work assigned. She is a very nice Professor to the point where if you miss an assignment, she'll reopen it, no questions asked. Attendance is mandatory, but she really doesn't care if people attend or not. If you are looking for a chill class, this is one to take. Take her class everyone!
Pretty chill course for the summer, not much work at all. If you stayed on top of the minimal coursework, you did just fine. Although, I did think she was a bit too chill sometimes when it came to attendance and the allowance of late assignments. Some people barely even showed up to class, and she would still accept their late work. Good class.
Good class overall, you can tell she truly cares about her students because she'll accept your late assignments no questions asked. We met once a week for a total of 6 weeks and honestly, the workload seemed a lot, but it was do to being a short term class. Very approachable inside & outside of class and graded really easy compared to other profs.
Loved her class, going didn't feel like a chore. Attendance 100% matters so make sure you show up. She's very funny and cares a lot about her students. Easiest class I've ever taken.
The amount of support she provided for us to gain skills to speak in public was tremendous. She understands not everyone has the confidence to speak in public and the lessons and skills she teaches you helps you build up the confidence needed to be a master at public speaker. Participate and do the work and you'll have no problem succeeding.
I took this class because I didn't want to take Critical Thinking through English and I was pleasantly surprised by it! It was actually a pretty fun & engaging course while learning about the various critical thinking theories. The assignments were simple & the grading was fair. Always reach out to Professor or TA, both are amazing & super helpful!
Prof. Ahntholz is a wonderful instructor - she's understanding, provides great feedback, and makes public speaking much less daunting. Definitely take advantage of extra credit and Unstuckstudy to ace this class.
You could tell from day 1 that she truly cares about everyone's success in the class, her heartwarming nature really showed. The assignments that were assigned were fairly easy if you followed directions and her lecture style was more laid back, making the class more enjoyable. 3 speeches, if you prepared well in advance, they were easy. Take her.
I put in little effort and got an A
Very little effort needed to get the grade you want in this course. She is very flexible with assignments as long as you communicate with her what is going on. She provides ample support to your success in the course & the materials are fairly easy to grasp and maintain. Assignments are not too difficult either. Would recommend for easy GE course.
she's the best!
Probaby easiest prof I've ever taken ngl she's very lenient and an easy grader. Dropped class randomly or just let us go within 10 minutes flat. She gave literally everyone an A on our speeches and was chill with late assignments too. If u want an easy A but not really learning that much, take her.
She only required 1 presentation + final paper research 5-7 pages. We learned theories about communication in society, love relationships and family, it helps me to balance in choosing words and managing emotions when making a statement/decision. As an international student, after taking Brenda's class my listening skills have improved.
Omg, take her class! She is the best professor ever—her work is straightforward, and you will learn so much. By far, this is the easiest and most beneficial class I've taken!
I took her for Public Speaking and I'm so glad I did! She truly provided a comfortable environment knowing the fact that not everyone is built to speak in public. The assignments were fairly straightforward and easy. Her TA, Justin was so supportive and patient with any questions or concerns. Take her class, best decision ever. Highly recommend!
Amazing professor! Absolutely take one of her courses if you want to practice public speaking.
I came into this class with anxiety and can confirm just taking this class doesn't make it go away. However, her class did help me to learn how to give a good speech. Her class is very welcoming to everyone, and the homework is pretty easy as well! This class is an easy A if you're willing to spend the time on it. She also offers extra credit!
Prof. Brenda knows how to create a welcoming environment for everyone. During speeches, I like how her feedbacks are thoughtful and uplifts students to be more confident in themselves in public speaking. Also if you have questions at any time, her TA Justin would be happy to answer them. I would recommend this class if you want an easy A!
I put off public speaking because I always was scared to speak to an audience, and while the class didn't completely remove that fear, I think it definitely helped. She is also a very generous grader and doesn't assign much work. As long as you spend some time in the lab each week it should be an easy A.
Very interactive professor that prefers to use more unconventional forms of teaching, which made the class enjoyable. The environment was very inclusive, and the workload was very minimal. Highly recommend taking this class in person.
I had taken her class this year. And she was pretty open-minded, prefers to communicate with classmates by often being in a circle and shares some ideas. Most of the topics were deep. I've learnt lots of things about the culture and the concept of LGBT, basically most of them were about those. I love her. I wanna take her class again.
If you are considering a communication course or even just slightly interested, would recommend taking a course with Professor Ahntholz. She creates such a warm and welcoming environment which makes opening up easier throughout the course. The class is very easy and assignments are not difficult. Her TA, Justin is very nice and super helpful too!
She was kind and vitally person. If you took her class just follow what requirements in her class, you would have great feedback for your grade. Strongly recommend people taking her classes!!
If you took her class just follow what requirements in her class, you would have great feedback for your grade. Strongly recommend people taking her classes!!
This class was a breeze. Easy A. There's a 16 hour lab requirement. Prof is nice and gives good feedback with speeches. Lab manual required. Offered lots of extra credit opportunities. However, Prof was always late, canvas disorganized, and difficult to contact outside of class, which made my experience quite frustrating.
If you are looking to take a Communication course, you have to take it with Professor Ahntholz! Her classes are really fun and engaging, plus they are pretty easy! No regrets taking her course,
Legit one of the easiest Communication professors at Ohlone. Super friendly, easy going and she makes the entire class environment extremely welcoming and forthcoming about everything. You have to complete a total of 3 main speeches and 16 hours in the Communication Lab, and a few other assignments in between, but honestly, pretty chill course.
She is by far one of the best professors I've taken here at Ohlone. She is super supportive and encouraging and very easy going for a public speaking class. The workload is manageable and you give 3 different speeches, and have to accumulate 16 hours of lab. Take advantage by utilizing her TA, Justin, he is amazing and super helpful!! Take her!!
This was a pretty small class which made the class even more enjoyable as we really did get to know one another more personally. I really enjoyed the class, we discussed a lot of different theories and how really analyze what we are reading and learning. If you do the simple and minimal work, you should have no problems getting an A. Recommended!
Honestly, my favorite class at Ohlone. Professor Brenda is hilarious, inspiring, and brings energy to every discussion. I became a comm major because of her! She truly cares about her students, makes learning fun, and always supports students. Class was fun, thought-provoking & full of great discussions. Take her class, DO IT 100% recommend!
Super easy, super engaging, and very reasonable (provides 4-5 extra credit opportunities and extends modules almost every single week by another week) She is the perfect professor for taking GE courses as she understands her course is a GE for many and structures it accordingly.
Brenda is incredibly caring and makes every student feel valued. Her lectures are super engaging—they really know how to get everyone involved. The class includes three graded speeches, but they're very manageable.
Professor Ahntholz is one of the best professors I have ever had. She is very knowledgeable about the subject, explains concepts clearly, and is always willing to answer questions. She cares about her students. She also provides helpful feedback. If you are considering taking Professor Ahntholz's course, don't hesitate.
I wasn't expecting to get so much out of this course, but I did. It was also the very first course where we had to plan and create a campus wide Gender Sex Fair event for the entire campus to attend & learn what we learned throughout the course. If you ever curious about gender, your sexuality, & communication, I'd highly recommend this course.
You can really tell that professor Ahntholz has a deep care, and passion for this subject. There was a lot that I learned, and took away from this class, and I think everyone that takes it will say the same. The work is pretty straightforward, and she has a very lenient policy towards late work, but be prepared to work the gender sex fair.
Very nice, easy to work with. Zero issues if you are interested in the topic of Communication.
Material and work itself is super straightforward and easy to manage but very purposeful with clear opportunities to learn. I loved this class in its entirety all thanks to professor Ahntholz who not only made her expectations clear, but created a lovely experience with amazing feedback and extra credit opportunities. Would definitely take again!
Professor Ahntholz is one of the best professors I have met at Ohlone. Her classes are passionate and she is always patient when I have questions. She doesn't assign many assignments and sometimes she extends the deadlines based on our feedback. This course is great for who is new to communication, and it is easy to get an A.
Great Experience, especially as a full time athlete
Being a full time athlete, I truly appreciated all the support Professor Ahntholz provided me throughout the course. I took this class mainly for GE, and I was actually surprised how much you can learn about the field of communications. The course is pretty simple, there are no required textbooks, simply come to class ready to learn to succeed.
This class is super easy if you do the work. There's lab manual work and 3 speeches that get harder through the semester, but it's not bad. Brenda wants the best for her students, she's sweet, gives good feedback, and says the most random things sometimes. You'll have a great time in her class
I took her online Intercultural and it honestly was a breeze for a GE course. If you are looking for a light load while taking multiple other courses, this one is for you. The assignments were not too difficult and there were hardly any exams. There is a group project, but it is manageable. Bonus is she has a very helpful TA, named Justin, utilize!
Good class to fulfill your Critical Thinking requirement, you learn a lot and workload is very manageable. It was a hybrid course, so we only met once a week for lectures and the rest was online. Professor was engaging, very response to student concerns and made the course environment welcoming for all. Assignments fairly easy and straightforward.
I am currently taking her Public Speaking course in the summer and I have to say it is one of the easiest courses I have taken. She doesn't assign a whole lot of work, and most of it is graded essentially on a complete/not complete basis. There are 3 speeches and she doesn't grade harshly on them. Labs are pretty easy too, just watch the due dates.
I took this course in the summer, and the study was not as heavy as I thought. Her class is always full of enthusiasm. I was very nervous when I have a speech for the first time, but Prof. Ahntholz gave me a lot of encouragement and support. She always gives students full confidence and gives everyone a high score. I highly recommend her course.
Ahntholz is a great professor! She goes above and beyond to help her students get an A ! I took her over the summer in a 5 week class. Although it was a short class, she did not make it overwhelming. Very helpful! I'd recommend taking her !
Professor Ahntholz is a very caring professor who is willing to help people get the best grade possible in this class. She even extends deadlines on certain assignments if you ask. I didn't know anything about public speaking, but after taking this class, I can say that it definitely improved a lot.
Public speaking was really tough for me at first. The first speech was the hardest and honestly very stressful. But by the second one, it felt much easier. I'm really grateful for Professor Ahntholz and the TA Justin for their encouragement. Their support helped me push past my fear and gain more confidence in myself.
Would def recommend, amazing class and has an amazing teacher.
I took the course during the summer. She made the class a fun, inviting place to be. By the end, it actually made giving speeches less intimidating by the end. Only downside is that 6-week long summer course does feel packed at times.
Professor Ahntholz is amazing! Her teaching style is clear and engaging. The coursework can be challenging, but it builds real-world skills, and it has improved my confidence. She provides encouraging feedback and enough time to get the work done before the deadline. Very approachable, and she makes sure that everyone succeeds.
I took her 6-week summer public speaking course, and while at times it was intense, the support she showed the entire course was amazing. She was always very engaging and extremely understanding when it came to the coursework. The class itself is not hard, 3 speeches, lab work and some online assignments. I highly recommend taking her class.

Public speaking was a significant challenge for me. Delivering my 1st speech was difficult and quite stressful. However, by the time I gave my 2nd speech, I felt much more at ease. I'm incredibly thankful to Professor Ahntholz and our TA, Justin, whose encouragement played a key role in helping me overcome my fear & build confidence in myself.
Professor Ahntholz was very nice and positive all the time. When it came to assignments she was very clear and since the class I took was a 6 week long period, I still was not overwhelmed by the workload. Very lenient grader and good feedback. After every speech she had great input and I knew what to improve on next time.
Professor Ahntholz said at the beginning of the semester that this course will be the easiest A, and as it turns out she was right. She was a kind and encouraging professor that gave inspiring feedback after each speech. I was a bit nervous at the start, but I feel more confident after taking this course.
Professor Ahntholz was truly a joy to work with—by far the sweetest professor I've met at Ohlone. Her 6-week summer course was intense, with speeches almost every week, but she remained kind, flexible, and encouraging. Her hands-off approach allowed us to be creative, and she always gave the most thoughtful compliments!

Her 6-week summer course was pretty intense, with 3 speeches but she stayed so kind, flexible, and supportive throughout. Her hands-off teaching style really encouraged creativity, and she always offered such thoughtful, uplifting feedback. On top of that, her TA, Justin, was incredibly helpful and always ready to lend a hand whenever we needed it.
Amazing professor, she was super supportive to everyone in the course and just made the environment super welcoming without any judgements. You could really tell just how much she cared about everyone's wellbeing & what they had going on. Easy class, 3 speeches, lab and minimal homework. Provides a ton of resources including an amazing TA, Justin.
The material was explained clearly through out and learned a lot through the class. Most of the assignments were self explanatory and due dates were very reasonable. Above that, a few extra-credit opportunities granting a decent amount of points.
She is super chill and her TA is very useful, whenever I had problems they were able to help.
genuinely great professor. shes easy to understand, really chill and communicates with the class a lot, especially in gen z terminology, which is pretty interesting. she mainly grade on 3 things (presentation, notecards for others presentations, and research paper that's split in 3 parts). also for every good thing you do, she says "you get an A!"
Professor Ahntholz is kind and enthusiastic, and incredibly supportive of students, especially when it comes to presentations. Whether you're not a strong communicator or English isn't your first language, there's nothing to worry about. Under Professor Ahntholz's guidance, everyone achieves an A, and everyone earns a lot of extra credits.
She was incredibly kind, lenient, and understanding, always making sure everyone felt comfortable in class. She also had a great sense of humor and kept us engaged by sharing funny and relatable stories from her personal life.
Brenda was wonderful, and her enthusiasm for teaching us was very sweet and approachable!!! Loved taking her class
Professor Ahntholz is the best thing about this class. I love her enthusiasm for theories; it's nice to have a professor who is really passionate about her subject. She does her best to not make her students feel awkward in class and gives good feedback on the slideshow projects. She always seems genuinely interested in everything.
I took her online Intercultural Communication course and it honestly wasn't too bad. There were a few weeks where we didn't have a whole lot to do as we had a group project to work on. The workload for this class is definitely doable and she provides ample time to complete everything. Would recommend if you are looking for a chill online course.
Very disorganized, Canvas class not clear. Too many labs and sometimes would give the wrong grade due to not remembering the verbal instructions she had given students. class was 1hr & 35 mins and often would only lecture for 25-50 mins which makes it inconvenient for commuters. Very type B, if you are a type A person do not take her.
Brenda was an amazing professor. She is thoughtful and caring. She gives great feedback and lots of great advice. Her lectures are very interesting and helpful. Make sure you go to the Comm Lab as you have to get 16 hours. Go early in the year, it's hard to procrastinate in this class. Overall it's a great and easy class.
She is an amazing professor! I had a great time in her class, and her passion for the subject made every lecture soo fun. The class is very manageable, just complete the labs and the required hours in the comm lab, and you'll get an A lol. She has tons of extra credit too!
Brenda is incredibly flexible and kind. She truly has a passion for not only communication but creating connections with her students. I've taken her about five times now and I will continue to do so. Any class of hers is not only easy but unintimidating. She will never make you feel stupid or small like some other professors.
Brenda is a very positive professor. I was afraid of doing English speeches, but Brenda encouraged me a lot, and I think she saw every student's strengths. She may give some extra credits. It's an easy A class, just follow her instructions, and finish all assignments before due date.
She is a very, very kind professor, and to me, she feels more like a friend who is always encouraging me to recognize my strengths. Although this course requires four speeches, she gives everyone helpful feedback and excellent support each time. I've taken her class for three semesters, and I highly recommend her!
pretty good

Professor Brenda is the best! She was so understanding and always wanted us to succeed. Even with it being an asynchronous class I still felt supported my entire semester. She is the best comms teacher and I definitely recommend!

Professor Ahntholz is a great professor with one of the most engaging teaching styles I've seen in college education. I had no issue understanding her lectures, instruction, or communication channels. Overall a great comm teacher to take!
Professor Ahntholz is amazing, she truly inspires everyone in the class to want to succeed. The class itself is very interesting, you learn so much about communication and the theories behind it. If you do all the work, you'll have no problem getting an A. An added bonus is her TA, Justin who is amazing! Read all his emails, they are super helpful!
Professor Anholtz was great! Had her course asynchronous but it was easy to follow along and she was very communicative! Her TA Justin was awesome and very helpful as well!
Professor Ahntholz's COMM-115 class was really interesting. I actually really enjoyed a few of the assignments as she shared some intriguing movies and documentaries with us. She is a caring professor and wants her students to succeed. She gives opportunities for group projects and extra credit. Would recommend!
I was a bit nervous about taking public speaking, but Professor Ahntholz made the classroom a fun and comfortable environment! She really encourages you to choose topics that you are interested in and always praises when a student shows passion towards their speech topic. She is very flexible and gives you a lot of creative freedom, amazing class!
Despite this being an asynchronous course, I still feel as if I learned so much about Intercultural Communication. Through the various movies, clips and assignments we had to complete, it really all came together and showcased so much! The assignments were fairly straightforward and both professor and the TA, Justin were easily reachable online.
