I took her human sex class cause it was recommended by a friend but was disappointed when she only presented one point of view. In the end I wasn't as satisfied with my experience in her class as I had hoped.

She'll open your mind in ways you didn't know were closed - if you let her. You'll hate her if you're a white person who says "i'm not ****/****, i have girl/black friends" . She is kinda narrow & i didn't learn anything I didn't already know, but for ignorant white people, please TAKE THIS!

Engaging at first but loses a lot of interest when she has to be right all of the time. Take her side or prepare to be verbally assulted.

I strongly disagree with those who say she's cruel & loves to dissect her students. I love this teacher. She offers perspectives that are hard for many people to assimilate, but the info's life-chaning if you want to learn! I recommend her & appreciate her deviation from western teaching methods. A+

Most of the people who previously reported here are just closed-minded and stupid. Dr. Flyswithhawks is not biggotted and, while she has her own opinions, respects other peoples'.

I loved this class! But you do need to work for your grade. The subject matter does require you to look answer questions that are personal however, the enitre class is doing the same thing. This class gives you an oppottunity to open your mind and learn a lot of great information. A+++++++++++++++++

Great class, great instructor, If you put the effort in you will get out much more than a grade. This prof. takes what she does seriously and yet has a sense of humor about the fact that we are all humans. you can get an A if you give the class and subject responsible attention.

I love her. She is very open minded and was always nice and respectful. Put the work into the class, and you'll do just fine :)

a lot of mixed opinions.. and i'd really have to agree with all of them, good and bad. i didn't have many personal problems with her, but a lot of the students in my class did bc she offended them in some way. she is DEFINATELY opinionated, but she also teaches a VERY interesting class. i reccommend

fantastic teacher. i was weary of her before taking the class but i really enjoyed her teaching style. she IS opinionated but lets you have your voice as well. she speaks much of personal experience which i enjoy. very easy class! i recommend it highly

Shes really easy if you believe her way, It was one of my best classes but I also didnt disagree with her. If you tell her what she wants to here you'll get an A .. if not well .... i guess you'll find out.. shes extremely controversial

I wasnt in the class for very long... but she was an extremely interesting person to listen to. If you like groups and getting to know others in your class then she is the prof. for you.

Knowledgable, courageous with the subject matter, dares to talk about things that other instructors would never even attempt. Collaborative group work, encourages critical thinking, authentic and transparent with personal experinces that apply to subject being discussed. Self-exploration intergrated and can be challenging for some. Great class!

Class was well taught, but her interpersonal skills could use some work. She has a tendency to batter down opinions that differ from hers. Overall, I think I learned what I needed to from this class.

She is very good instructor. It was one of the best classes I ever took at the JC. She makes the level even between instructor and student, which makes the class fun to participate in, and the assignments are not only fun to do, but incredibly rewarding to do as well. Definitely a jewel of a human being and an instructor.

Brenda's classes changed my life for the better. Most of the people who say she is biggoted obviously dropped early or weren't willing to admit to their advantages (I am white, btw) in this society or that we are all brought up to be **** to some degree. She's hard, but so worth it. If you can't handle the truth, don't take her class.

She was really passionate about what she taught and is a great teacher. If you are open to change and to being taught about things that you didn't know existed, this is the class for you. This class was a HUGE eye-opener and I loved the experience.

I took every class Brenda teaches; I adore her. She is a great teacher and a great friend who really cares about her students. She isn't afraid to stand up for what she believes in even in class and that's admirable. It's messed up to critisize someone for recapturing the name that was stolen from them. It is irrelevant to her teaching abilities.

She is an advocate for social equality and ending oppression. I learned so much from her class. She's great!

I like Brenda. Her lectures can be long, but i enjoy the subject. There were about 5 papers that determined your grade, which was nice and she grades kind of easy. There was a good amount of reading but not many people actually read. Buy the book, you will need and use it. Easy class.

Wonderful, compassionate instructor. Simple class that involves a willingness to be vulnerable. Minor reading/writing req. but fearful, immature, or vindictive students will struggle. A very loving teacher who is able to transform classroom into community. Easiest A I earned in this semester.

This woman will truely open doors in your mind that you didnt know needed to be opened. she is amazing and really forces you to open your eyes. i can see how this makes some students uncomfortable but it's worth it! I highly reccomend her!

She can be crude and judgmental, but I still recommend the class. Cism's are really difficult to discuss but I think she did a decent job of creating an environment to do so. Be ready to spill your guts out in class and attend every class because thats half your grade... Got my first -B- at the JC because I missed a few classes.

This woman changed my life. It's been about 8 years since I've had her class and I still think of it often. She confronts the most difficult of issues head on, and this makes some students defensive and angry. Taking this class can be a major opportunity for personal growth, if you let it be.

She is one of the most amazing teachers I myself, and others I have spoken to, have experienced during my academic career. She's friendly and funny, yet takes her classes seriously. I definately recomend her.

I think the subject matter requires a firm hand, as students are at different maturity levels. Her behavioral expectations are high, but clear; her lectures thorough and easy to follow.As a****survivor, I appreciated her sensitivity and insistence on respectful behavior. I recommend her class.

Dr. Flyswithhawks is a great professor. She teaches different than most professors. If you are narrow minded I wouldn't suggest her. She is helpful and willing to talk to students after class.

I loved this class! Brenda is really nice and layed back. the class is really easy too. No home work, u only have like 3 writing assignments the whole year and they are also super easy. Lectures can get off topic sometimes so you don't always cover all material for the test, but the book has quizzes on line that really helped. take this class!

Brenda is a wonderful professor who not only cares about the material of which she teaches, but also about the students to whom she is teaching. She is a stickler for for certain things, such as attendance and ettiquette, but for the most part is pretty laid back. Some hard issues are handled in a great way but may be too hardfor some to delve into

She is a fair teacher. She doesn't overwhelm you with work, but only wants you to care about the class. Open up and you're sure to succeed. Sometimes her lectures get confusing, but she's friendly enough to help. You need to be a respectful student in her class, otherwise, she can make it very hard for you.

Flyswithhawks is brilliant and knows material. I've taken 3 courses: Psych of Identity, Human Sexuality, and Psych Foundations of Racism & Sexism. She's progressive &strong ally of minorities, yet is supportive of everyone's learning and spiritual process. Weakness:some exams nitpicky, most of grade from personal papers-you'll learn a lot!!!

Pretty easy class. One essay, a handful of quizzes, and a few tests that you could use your notes on. Supplemented lectures with videos and guest speakers to keep it interesting. Doesn?t like being asked clarifying questions. Her own biases come through but I wasn?t bothered by them. Enjoys what she?s teaching.

She was a little intimidating at first, but she lightened up a little as the class went on. I had to study like crazy from the book (intersession class) but I got an A. My boyfriend got 2 Ds on 2 of the 3 tests but ended up getting a C overall. I think she helps out a little. She has strong views and opinions but overall i would recommend her

Class was fairly difficult because it was an intersession class. She was a little stand offish in office hours, but was still helpful. Allowed lecture notes on all of her tests which was nice, except for when she would misspeak during lecture and cause you to get a wrong answer on the test, that didn't happen too often though.

Brenda is a really awesome teacher. I can tell she loves what she does, and she helps out a lot. She bumps up grades and lets open lecture notes on exams.

Dr.B is an awesome teacher.Very informative.Uses powerpoint whick makes note taking awesome.I loved how she incorporated her culture and personal life into the lectures.You will pass class as long as you show up,take notes,& read the text.She sometimes bumps up scores to help students.All she requires is respect for herself and others.

Come to class, take notes, read the chapters at home. Pretty basic. She let us use notes on tests, but I don't think she's doing that anymore. 5 20 question T/F quizzes, 2 exams + 1 final, and a 5 page term paper about yourself. Fairly easy class overall. She's enthusiastic and kind of funny. Take notes, study, and you'll do fine.

I really can't say enough about Brenda Flyswithhawk. I am truly touched by her as a teacher. Not only did I learn a lot I enjoyed everyone of her lectures. Never thought I'd be sad when a semester ended! Thank you professor Flyswithhawk for an amazing class!

Dr. Brenda is a great teacher. There is a lot of writing but as long as you take notes, study, and don't screw around in her class you will be fine. Allowed to use notes on major exam, and never any homework other than reading. She knows what she is talking about, and she makes Psychology interesting.

She was a very clear teacher. The best I had all year! Take her class! It wasn't too hard, and there are no surprises when it comes to tests or grading. She will tell you everything you are going to learn in that class and stick to her dates. She's a very reliable teacher, and available during her office hours or by email if you have any questions.

Interesting lectures. Fast-paced notes. Lots of info, difficult but not impossible. No busy work, a few quizzes & tests and 1 paper, straight forward. She doesn't assign more than a college student should be able to handle. If get a poor grade it is NO ONES fault but your own and doesn't require a ton of extra time/effort. GOOD TEACHER!!

Amazing teacher, she is very big on respect and dosnt tollerate anyones crap. she is hillarious and is constantly giving us chalenging thoughts. everything you need to know is on the powerpoint in class, never surprises you with random stuff on tests. the quizes are short the exams are long, but she lets you bring your notes to the exams.

Dr. Brenda is very passionate about the topic of racism and sexism. She kept lectures entertaining with vidoes and some group (in class) projects. She learns your name, and that is really rare these days. Book is crazy expensive and you honestly don't need it, just use the reserve copy. Don't talk in class or use phone/mp3 player & you'll be ok.

Dr. Flys is passionate and well informed about the subject she teaches. It is very important that you be able to take notes very quickly, and respect her by not talking. Her lectures are surprisingly engaging; and if you pay attention in class, the tests will be a breeze.

This class was easy. She gave T/F quizzes after every 2 chpts, open note tests, and one paper. She was nice, but sometimes very strict on rules. She also did not treat everyone fairly. Sometimes she would teach the class things that I don't think were very accurate, but it still was a very interesting class.

This is a very interesting class and her personality makes it even more so. Be prepared though there are lots of notes to be taken and with a quick pace. You will have to study if you want a good grade! The experience is rewarding though.

Dr. Flyswithhawks is a wonderful teacher, I absolutely love her class. She is very clear and interesting. She is very funny, and she knows how to respond to students who are misbehaving. I highly recommend her psychology 1A class, I've learned a lot and definitely want to continue on in the subject

She is a great teacher. Very funny and considerate of her students. If you don't miss any classes you get 30 EC points, 20 points EC if you miss three or less. There are 5 20 point quizzes, 3 exams, one paper, and a final exam.

She's interesting to say the least. She will not take crap from you, so plan on good manners. She is a good teacher and knows her stuff. Keep in mind, a sexuality class will deal with things that may make you blush.

Awesome lady. Very powerful teaching style; inspirational. Good at making time for students-within reason. Doesn't put up with BS like being late or disrespectful. I was very pleased. It requires a lot of reading and studying though, so be prepared.

Flyswithhawks is a very intense teacher. Very strong and emmotional. I would say she is a very good teacher. However, she is rude when she wants to be. Pay attention and don't be late and your fine. Read the text even though she never goes over it. Overall, I'm glad I took this class with her I don't think any teacher would of taught it better!

She is all about respect. She's pretty funny at times and makes class enjoyable. If you wanna pass this class you need to pay attention and take LOTS of note. The test weren't to hard and the only homework you need to do is reading. She really knows what she is talking about and I really enjoyed that class.

Dr. Flys is RAD!her lectures are interesting and inspiring. She has an awesome sense of humor and is really funny.Do not be late to her class and do be respectful because she will call you out in front of all 200 of your class mates but she does it in a playful way so if your witty, you'll sit pretty. open note exams. one 3 page paper.lots of notes

She is an amazing teacher with lots and lots of information and knowledge. I loved her class and plan on taking another one of her classes in the fall! shes not an easy class so u must attend and take notes its for your own benefit! just do the college deal sit there shut up and do the work and u can and will pass! she is harsh but fair.

I really enjoyed this class. All her lectures are on power point. Her quizzes are 20 questions on the big screen. Tests are open notes. I got a B in her class and hardly tried. she gives out a lot of extra credit! I really enjoyed her class. But she is a bit intimidating, ill tell you that!

Flyswithhawks is really chill. Just do your work, go to class, and study, and you'll do fine in the class. Just be on her good side and show effort that you're doing your best and she'll be really helpful. If you're an athlete, then she will automatically like you (just make sure you dont screw around too much). The class can be a bit challenging.

I recieved an A and although i worked for it, she offered a lot of extra credit and all you do is need to read over your notes before you take the tests. all open book and no need for the book at all. fun class! recommenmd taking it!

She is awesome! Take her any where in the Newman or even in a class room. She is a cool person and teacher. Her lectures are interesting and her exams are a breeze, if you study. She lets you use your notes on the exams and here quizzes are 20 question true or false. Flyswithhawks is such an up lifter teacher because she motivates you to do well.

Brenda has a very strict and organized way of doing things but once you settle into her rules her class is fun and easy. Brenda can come off as cold, but she's funny and genuinely loves teaching. Her tests are very hard (she knows). She'll give you fun crossword puzzles and will expect you to read he chapters on your own. Highly recommend her.

Dr. Flys is one of my absolute favorite teachers, you can tell that she is extremely genuine. I've taken Psych 1A,3,35, 57 and now 34 - best Psych teacher around! She lets you use notes on her tests and this semester we were allowed to use our books. She always has an interesting topic for the day, just don't fall asleep. She will embarrass you!

Dr. Flyswithhawks is a great, but tough teacher. Do not take this class if you don't want to come to class, read the book, or study for exams, because you have to do that to get a good grade.

Do not expect to receive a good grade in this class if you aren't willing to show up, take notes, do the homework or study for the tests. There isn't much homework, and it's easy. The tests are (50-100 ?'s) multiple choice/true-false and although some questions are carefully worded, they are pretty straightforward. She is very knowledgeable.

She is my favorite Psychology teacher at the JC. She is very organized and is extremely clear. Notes are allowed on tests but the notes aren't even necessary; if you show up to class and listen (take notes as well), you'll know everything you need to know. Lecture heavy classes but that just reinforces all the great info she provides.

I took Flyswithhawks for Psych 1A. It's a very controlled class, so no talking... she'll call you out on it! She's funny and makes the class interesting. She gives crossword puzzles for homework and there are 4 truefalse, 20 question quizzes, and 4 open note exams (including the final). i would definitely recommend her for Psych 1A.

She teaches very interesting material and can be very funny. However she can come off cold, and demands too much respect (to the point where it is distracting from class if someone does ANYTHING out of order). Her lectures are long but worth it. I would take her again.

Took this class with a different teacher the semester before and failed it because I couldn't find any interest in it. Took it with Flyswithhawks the next semester, and I was always excited to go to class! Her interest in it makes it more interesting and easier to learn. Easy to pass as long as you do the crosswords and write notes during lectures.

I took 5 courses with Dr. Flys (that's saying something) Brenda is an inspiration to all ages, she makes all of her subjects very interesting and ties them into your everyday life. Lectures are long, lots of writing but you'll appriciate it (notes allowed on test - usually) Show Brenda some respect and you'll get it in return. I will miss her

I absolutely loved this class! It opened up my mind to all the different things about Racism and Discrimination in our world. All lectures were interesting and always kept me hungry for more. Shes amazing and I hope to take another class with her again! I RECOMMEND THIS CLASS!! I didnt buy the textbook but i should have, would have helped a lot!!

Dr. Flys is hilarious but straightforward. You can use lecture notes on the exams, and homework was just a couple of crosswords. Going to class is essential, especially for all the notes. But it's worth the extra credit at the end of the semester. Don't get the book. I opened it once and never used it. Just the notes.

I know I rely on this website so let me make it easy for you. TAKE THIS CLASS. I've taken her Psych 3 and Psych 1A. Funny interesting and knows what she's talking about. Notes are allowed on all tests (Including the final) and quizzes are just TF. Anyone saying her class was hard... Yikes. Intimidating on the first day but she's great! Fun class!

Lectures were average readings of Powerpoint slides + her personal expertise. Hysterical jokes and references were laced into the descriptions of theories. Very serious and to the point with her subject matter, and yet she is not so rigid as to find humor as well to lighten things up. Take this class.

Dr. Flyswithhawks is one of my favorite professors I have ever encountered. She is so real and inspirational. A lot of people think she's scary or overly strict, but as long as you don't screw arounddisrespect her, she is so sweet. The only homework is super easy crossword puzzles and the quizzes and tests are pretty simple too.

Dr. Flyswithhawks is very straightforward and to-the-point. She is respectful to students as long as they are respectful to her, and she is VERY attentive to class behavior. She allows lecture notes for exams and teaches directly out of the book. She also allows plenty of extra credit. Great instructor, easy class, very interesting.

Dr. Flyswithhawks is an amazing teacher. She was very intimidating at first, but once I went in to her office to talk to her, she was very approachable. She helped me get an A. She gives 3 exams and 5 quizzes and your only homework are crossword puzzles. They are all easy, and an A is easy to get as long as you read the book and go over the notes.

Dr. Flyswithhawks is one of the most inspirational people I have met! She is very clear about what she expects from you as a student in her class and what to expect from her as an instructor. I have learned so much from the classes I have takes with her (PSYCH 1A, PSYCH 3, PSYCH 34). If your major is psychology, take her classes!

The best teacher I have ever had! She has a tough demeanor at first, but she is truly an incredible soul. I took three psych classes with her&she changed my life! The people who didn't like her in my classes talked the whole time, were on their phones or were disrespectful she calls people out if they're rude or disrespectful. INSPIRATIONAL OVERALL

Professor Flyswithhawks is so great! Her lectures are very interesting and informative and she is really funny. I hoping to take her again next semester because she makes the topic easier and entertaining. If you take her, get ready to take A LOT of notes (write quickly). I would recommend her in a heartbeat!

I'm taking another psychology class of hers this semester because she was such a great teacher. She offers a lot of extra credit essays throughout the class and if you have perfect attendance. Quizzes can get tricky so you definitely have to study the notes. There are usually only a few questions from the book. She allows class notes on tests.

Great class and great professor. If you pay attention to lectures (which make up the entire class) and write down all powerpoint notes, the quizzes will be easy (20 questions T/F) and exams will be tolerable (allowed to use lecture notes). Extra credit is offered. I never used the book.

However, if you are a disrespectful, immature, and irresponsible "student", don't take her. She doesn't need you in her auditorium. Be ready to take notes and do extra credit! Love her!

Flyswithhawk is not only a terrific teacher but also a genuinely caring and respectable human being. Right off the bat you will notice she demands respect. She is extremely educated and clear about her grading criteria. The class is pretty much 4-5 open note 75 question tests and 6-8 true/false quizzes. Easy A, but also informative-highly recommend

She is a fantastic teacher! She's strict, but fair. Her lectures are straightforward and taught in power points, which you're expected to take notes on. She gives about 4-6 exams, 75 questions (final was 100) and about 5 T/F quizzes. Show up and take notes everyday and you will definitely pass.

This is my second class with Flys and she's amazing. Go to class everyday, copy notes from her PowerPoint lectures and use them on the test. She's strict but has a fun personality. If you're respectful she will love your class. Don't buy the textbook. Her tests only go off her power points.

Flyswithhawks is awesome! She has a great sense of humor and you can tell she loves what she is doing. Lecture is the entire class period, be prepared to take a TON of notes,but you are able to uses them on the exams. One negative thing, her in class videos are very out dated and old, some are hard to relate to other than that she is great!

If you're debating on whether to take psych1a with dr flys JUST DO IT. She is an amazing teacher and not too bad as a person either. She truly has a passion for what she teaches. As long as you show up, take notes and review them, there is no way you can't get an A in this course. She also offers A LOT of extra credit and is very understanding.

I had Dr. Flyswithhawks for two courses: Psych 1A and Psych 3. I was having a tough time in the beginning of the semester because I missed a few weeks.. I came in and talked to her and she helped me pulled my grade up. She's very understanding and sweet. If you need or struggle with something she will support you 100%!! She wants the best for you!

Dr. Flys is by far one of the greatest professors this campus has to offer. Engaging topics, a deep care for her work and a respectful foundation laid down for students. 10/10!

She is by far the best teacher I've ever had. I rate teacher based on care for her Students you won't find a teacher who cares for her students more than she does. Maybe Mrs Nancy veiga for English 1A is a close second

Love her classes! She's strict but understanding & her rules are simple. I recommend reading the book but I used the library for it & would just read an hour before class, didn't buy. Dr. Flys is a passionate teacher. She really enjoys what she is talking about and she really gets into the lectures. If you are a conservative person, she will open up your views so that you can understand everything. She will get so into the subject that she will randomly say something funny. I definitely recommend you to take this class.

Funny, passionate, free tips on managing life situations. Respected through humor & directness. Some might get offended, for me it's inspiring and funny. Reading textbook makes tests easy, otherwise, potential for confusion/time consuming. But can get B without reading. For a sexuality class, the language isnt too inclusive. Purely about men/women.

Best professor I've ever had! Great sense of humor, makes lectures interesting. Gives extra credit, open notes exams(but don't be fooled DO THE READING). Quizzes are T/F, exams are multiple choice. Takes role everyday, be on time! Very engaging and loves answering questions. HW is x word puzzleseasy points,take advantage. Truly a remarkable woman!

Dr. Flys is amazing! Caring and funny. Everyone should take Human Sexuality class with her! If you know respect, and are eager to learn about relationships and how to be genuinely kind, then you wouldn't have a problem taking her class. She's simply the best!

Dr Flys is one of the best teachers at the SRJC. She is very passionate about psych and knows what she is talking about. She is strict about students goofing off in class but this is because it is disrespectful to her and the other students. She will call you out in class if you are being a distraction so be warned. long tests but open notes!

Professor Flyswithhawks is by far one of my favorite instructors to date. She creates a curriculum that almost promises success. Dr. Flyswithhawks is a teacher everyone should have. She has high, but certainly attainable, expectations. She is understanding with late assignments sometimes, depending on the circumstance. You just have to communicate with her. I learned so much in this class! She requires a textbook, but you don't really need it unless you need extra help.

Love her classes, very little homework but still manage to come away with a clear understanding of the material, if you take thorough notes you barely need the book, no essays.

I took Brenda for Human Sexuality, she uses powerpoints for her lectures and is very lighthearted and fun spirited making jokes throughout her lectures. She'll call you out if you misbehave, I'd recommend taking this class alone or with a serious study buddy because chatter is very annoying and she'll stop class to call you out. I loved her passion

She was amazing; not only in class but also with my personal life. Since it is a psych class, she welcomes students to email her and come see her about personal connections to the subjects. Open note tests, easy homework. If you show up and pay attention, you'll definitely pass. Lectures are hilarious but she'll call you out on misbehavior!

Great teacher, demands respect, and very helpful. She made so many jokes during her lectures and had great stories for examples. Tests are open note but if you read the chapters you will do a lot better. Crossword hw. So much extra credit opportunities. If you need to talk to her you can either email or go to her office she was so helpful.

class is in a big lecture hall but she really keeps control of everyone and i easy to talk to outside of class. she calls people out for talking and is very passionate. This is a class for people that care, you need to take notes, you can't just sleep through class and get an A. Her tests are open note and the homework is really easy.

Dr. Flys is a great teacher/resource. responds to emails quickly. If you want to be humiliated in front of 150 other people, text in class or talk to the person next to you. All tests are open notes. YOU NEED THE BOOK. She tests on it and you need it for online quizzes. She shuts down a lot of questions and can be intimidating. Overall very funny

Dr. Flys is an acquired taste. She is a bit intimidating and will call you out if you do/say stupid things, which I respect a lot. I didn't open the book once and got a B. Homework is very helpful for studying for tests. Bottom line - show up to class, take notes, study, and don't stay anything stupid and you'll be fine.

She has no tolerance for disruptive people, she will call you out in front of everyone. She crams her slides and rushes through them, she rarely answers anyone's questions. I suggest you buy two notebooks for this class because there is an insane amount of writing. You can use your notes on the exams and there is rarely any homework.

Dr. Flys was great! She knows her way around her lectures and how to handle a large class. She is very caring and has a solid psychology/research background. Human sexuality is a class everyone should take, and it was very entertaining and insightful! She is very communicative and straightforward about grading. Highly recommend.

I loved this class. Dr. Flys has so much experience and wisdom to share, and she likes to add humor where it is appropriate. I enjoyed coming to this class. Tests are HARD. My advice would be to study, arrive on time, take notes, and dont ask questions that waste her time! If you put the effort in, youll get a lot out of this class :)

She's a good professor but doesn't get the highest marks from me because her grading policy is not great. If you miss one quiz for instance, your grade will drop significantly. If you are one minute late for class (perhaps because you were using the clock at the gym, and the clock was 15 minutes slow for some reason) you cannot take the quiz.

Dr. Flys is amazing. She's funny,sweet, and caring. If you care about her class, take notes, and pay attention, you will pass. If you plan to be disrespectful during her lectures, plan to be called out. She is strict about due dates, but she warns you multiple times about everything that is due, so there's no reason you shouldn't be prepared.

best professor, she really does care about her students. hilarious and inspirational person, a real girl boss. she does lecture heavy and extremely punctual person. although it is lecture heavy she incorporates laughter into them. about four hw assignments and four quizzes. allows notes on tests

One of the best professors at SRJC. Her lectures pretty much everything you need so if you pay attention and take good notes you should good. Demands attention during lectures and will call you out if you're not paying attention or disturbing the class. Allows notes on the final and provides extra credit. Overall a great teacher!

I absolutely love Dr. Flyswithhawks and her courses. She is inspirational, her leactures are awesome, and she truly wants her students to succeed. She has clear, firm boundaries, so you dont have to worry about anyone being disruptive or distracting. Her quizs are more difficult than exams. She allows opportunity for extra credit.

Brenda is a brilliant teacher. Although some might mistake her directness as being mean, in reality she is a very kind, caring person. She gives clear guidelines for how to pass her class. All you have to do is show up, take notes, and do the homework. Tests are based on lecture and text so make sure you do both otherwise tests are difficult

There's a little bit of homework and EC opportunities, need to read the chapters in the book, and tests. The tests will cover both her lectures and the book. Great and fun teacher. Yes, she lectures the whole time, but what do you expect when you're sitting in a lecture hall just be glad you don't have to do any projects.

While Flywithhawks may be very strict when it comes to discipline inside the classroom, I think she is being fair and adapting many first year college students to a more serious environment. The only negative critique that I have is that some of her political comments may be very close to inappropriate at times.

LOVED this class, though it isVERY exam heavy. She is not afraid to call you out if you are being disrespectful. You MUST attend or she will not pass you. LOTS of note-taking, writing down exactly what is on the slides. Got to study a bit to do well on the exams, but it didn't bother me because it was so interesting.

Take her if you want an A. Just show up to class and take notes. Study the textbook. Tests are open notes. Lots of extra credit. No pop quizzes or projects, and essays are only for extra credit opportunities which are based on completion. Quizzes are harder than actual exams because they are not open notes. Absolutely loved her!! She's hilarious and kind, as long as you follow her rules and respect her. Can be intimidating and strict but it's only due to feedback from previous and current students. I want to point out that the vast majority of awful and bad reviews are from students who refused to take notes/didnt come to class/disrupted class. She is strict, but its for your own good and she wants you to succeed in class. Homework is very easy and the tests are open note so you should have no problem passing as long as you study.

This was my first college course ever last summer and I liked it a lot. In class, we would take notes off what she showed in PowerPoint slides. The homework was easy. Just crosswords. The tests were easy and we were allowed to use notes. The quizzes were harder because we were not allowed to use notes. There was a lot of easy extra credit

I took psych 1 with her over the summer last summer. I am currently enrolled at a 4 year university, but I think that Flyswithhawks is a better professor than any of my professors here. I actually enjoyed going to class every day. I felt like I learned something new about psychology and the way people think every time I went to class.

This was my first class I ever took at the JC and it was my favorite. Class was just the teacher lecturing from a powerpoint. Be sure to copy the powerpoints because the tests are open note. Tests are easier than quizzes because quizzes are not open note. She gave us extra credit if we went to gay pride and we also had to write an essay.

Dr. Flyswithhawks was a great instructor. In lectures, it seemed like she went above and beyond. The class was always fun to go to and I learned things from the class that I still use today. The tests were not difficult and were all open note. They covered material from class and from the textbook not covered in class. Easy A for me.

Dr. Flyswithhawks is such an amazing teacher! She gives out plenty of resources and lecture material to make sure you have all of the necessary tools to make sure that you will succeed. I took her online human sexuality course, and she made it very enjoyable. I would recommend taking this course as a psych major, or just for fun.

Dr. Flyswithhawks was everything I hoped for in a college professor. She had a clear passion for what she was teaching us. Her tests contained material from the power point and the textbook and it was open note. So easy. She also gave us extra credit points for going to protests and watching informative Ted Talks.

Easy class for me. The tests are all open note. In order to do well on the tests, copy her lecture PowerPoint slides word for word. Also, read the textbook. Some of the questions come from the textbook instead of her PowerPoint slides. The quizzes were not open note though. Slightly harder. Lots of easy extra credit too. Good teacher.

Brenda was such a solid and funny teacher. Learned so much from her. I got an A in the class by taking good notes (copying board word for word) and studying the textbook. The tests are open note!! There are no surprises in her class. It was just really chill. We took notes off of the PowerPoint slides and that was pretty much it. We took tests and quizzes based on what we were taught in the PowerPoint and from readings (textbook) outside of class. She seemed very passionate about what she was teaching us and it made the class enjoyable.

I enjoyed this class a lot. Shes so funny and engaged with the class and it makes me learn more. Her energy is very positive and she clearly is passionate about Psych 3. If she teaches any other Psych sections, Id definitely take it with her!

Her class was very interesting. She often talked about her experiences with the subject. Tests were open note, but she also tested stuff from the textbook readings. 100% multiple choice questions. She also gave us extra credit opportunities that required us to write a 500 word minimum response essay to selected videos related to the class.

I would definitely take Psych 3 with Brenda Flyswithhawks again. She is so excited and engaged with the class and it makes the class actually interesting. The tests and quizzes were easy, but I felt like her main goal was to help us understand and learn what she was talking about instead of cram studying.

Very long lectures, I found them unnecessary. I've become accustomed to watching lectures on 2x speed but the way its uploaded only allows this feature when on my phone which was mildly annoying. Very well organized, her expectations are clear first thing. Very few assignments with no discussions. Graded only on vocab, content quizzes and exams.

DONT BUY TEXTBOOK most answers are found on quizlet for her online psych 3 class didnt use the tb once, she is very sweet has clear grading criteria and most of the quiz and vocab answers can be found on chatgpt or quizlet

i really enjoyed this class with professor Flyswithhawks, i would definingly take her class again. her grading was clear and the class was pretty easy to follow. there is a lot of videos and reading but most of the work is multiple choice.
