She's so nice! She explains everything clearly and she's always willing to help you with problems during office hours. Her lecture notes are really helpful, too.

Am so glad I received advice to have her for Stats 402 (in Winter 1996). Heard other Stats professors lecture and they made no sense. Gunderson made Stats understandable.

She is good at teaching; very intense and spunky about the material.

Gunderson is the only way to go if you teach stats. She is very clear, organized, and helpful. She will go out of her way to make sure you understand the material and her tests are more than fair

She tought very clearly. There was no need to read the book if you went to her lectures. She covered everything very well. However you do need the book for homework...a waste of $80.

Considered to be the best stat 350 professor in UM. Everybody recommended me to take her classes. Her lecture is very very clear and her notes as well.

She's a really awesome teacher. She has a very soothing voice that makes you want to fall asleep though. But overall, she's very clear and thorough. The exams aren't ridiculously difficult compared to many other classes but sometimes it's a little tricky. Little mistakes are easy to make!

She's the head of the department so it's always best to go to her lectures seeing as she'll give you hints and she makes the exams. Somewhat boring as a lecturer probably because of monotonous and soothing voice. But pretty clear in what she's teaching, just gotta learn how to stay awake tho!!

a REALLLYYY dry class, but def one of the best professors here in the university. grades are very fair, exam questions are fair but VERY VeRY tricky. if u can stay awake in class and concentrate, ull do WELL in the class. =]

this class was fairly boring. she tends to teach class like you're in elementary school, but most of the material is easily understandable. lecture is a little boring and section is horrible since most of the gsi's speak broken, hardly recognizable english.

great class+professor. put a fair amount of effort into learning what the terminology REALLY MEANS and you'll get an A. the words "confidence interval, confidence level, p-value, standard error, and standard deviation" are CRITICAL. make sure you know these because there are tons of questions.

SO BORING!!! I love math, but this class actually sucks, homework due every week. You can do well if you read lecture notes, though. Agree with the knowing the terms, there are always true and false questions that can really get you, so know definitions. Decent teacher.

Great professor, very clear. Can be a bit boring, but it's stats, and more often than not, she gets a bad rap since many social science majors have to take stats 350 and hate math. but, she's a very clear teacher, take her if you take this class!

This class was so easy. Prof. Gunderson is a beast at teaching...makes things easy the first time, the second time teaching it you better get it or you should not be going to U of M.

She is so sweet and yeah, the class sucks because it's so boring but dont take it with any other prof. she is SOOO good at teaching, anyone else will make you want to shoot yourself during lecture.

After going through the fifth circle of hell known as Tom Venable's lecture, Gunderson's lecture was heaven. She is incredibly clear, easy to follow and makes you realize the relevance of this class. Make sure you sign up for her lecture if you must take this class.

If she taught every class that I have to or haven taken, I would be a 4.0 student! Gunderson is very approachable and I loved listening to her lecturers. She's just purely awesome

Really doesn't make much of an effort to entertain, but hey, its stats. Really didn't help me much, then again I took AP in high school. Watch out on GSIs though, mine was a tough grader.

God stats sucks. If you're gonna take the class then take it with Gunderson. Very approachable but if you miss one lecture or don't get one concept, you're doomed. Definitely make sure you understand p-value, p-hat, z-score, and chi-square tests.

I can see how she would be boring to some people, but it really depends on your learning style. I thought her lectures were great. The "fill-in-the-blanks" notes made me stay awake and everything was so incredibly clear that it's impossible to do badly if you show up at lectures. She's really nice and the exams were totally straightforward.

One of the best teachers I've ever had. She's very clear and precise. She knows exactly what might mess us up and makes sure we don't make those mistakes. The class is quite easy so long as you understand the material as you go along and go to lecture. Homeworks and recommended probs are also very helpful.

Extremely clear and precise. You'll do well if you do the homework and attend lectures, though sometimes it might get a little boring, but that's the nature of the subject. Pay attention to the points that she repeatedly emphasizes and the potential exam pitfalls she points out.

Everyone says that if you want to take Stats 350 then you should have her as your professor. I totally agree. She's the head of the stats dept. and she knows her stuff... She gives lots of examples and explains things in a clear step by step fashion. Great teacher and a great class

basically, you want her to ber your stats lecturer. so if you're planning on taking the class, have it with her. if her class is full, sign up for venable but just buy gunderson's lecture notes and go to her lectures instead of venable's. no one takes attendance in lectures so you'll just be another gunderson student. but you will fall asleep.

She is by far one of the most caring and enthauastic professors at U of M. Only take Stats 350 with her! The lectures can get boring, but if you make it through them you know the material. One more thing, the best way to study for the exams is to take the practice tests included in the computer module--they really help.

If you have to take Stats, take it with her. It’s a good way to fulfill your QR and Natural Science requirements in one. Gunderson is a great professor; the material is just incredibly boring. But, she’s very helpful and friendly and tries to make the class as interesting as possible. Be prepared to study if you want to get an A, though!

Excellent workbook for in class exercises, and in class examples actually resemble material that's on the exams. Stays after class to answer all questions. Group proj was kindof a pain.

Absolutely amazing prof. I would have failed that class without her, and I got a B+ while tutoring all of my friends in other lectures. Knows her stuff like the back of her hand, she actually gave a lecture completely from memory one day because she forgot her stuff. TAKE STATS WITH HER

Gundy is sweet! Even if you don't get her, go to her lectures. She is really clear and writes the exams so she knows what you need to learn and what is not important for the class. She even teaches MBA classes for stats so she is top-notch.

i took this class bc i had heard it was an easy A. the class load is pretty light (weekly hw, one project, 3 exams) but the exams were pretty hard. i ended up getting a B+. gunderson is very organized and a good lecturer but i wouldnt recommend this class if you dont need to take it. dont waste your money buying the book!

Gunderson made the concepts really clear, and she was very sweet - she even brought chocolate on the last day of class. The class wasn't too bad - I'm bad at math and I didn't put a lot of effort in and I got a B, but then again, I know people who were putting in all the effort and barely passing. A's are going to require work, but it's possible.

I considered changing my major to stats after Gunderson taught me and I hated (it is a strong word but really did) statistics prior to taking the class. Yes, that is how good she is.

I did not officially have her as my lecturer, but after attending ONE of her lectures, I had learned more than i had with the other guy in 2 months. I attended her lectures instead and finally understood what was going on it that class! I HIGHLY recommend that you take her lectures rather than the other professors'.

I'm not a math-oriented person, but Gunderson made stats comprehensible. Her lecture notes are your best resource, and she's willing to answer your questions. Exams were fair and reflected the material well. Getting an A is definitely not out of reach. If you can't get Gunderson, I hear Venable is also a good lecturer.

She is by far the best of the Stats professors. If you don't have her, you must still go to her lectures. The other professors don't even come close to matching up with her. I thought it was an easy A, but it wouldn't have been if i had a different professor. There is not much work in this class either--just 1 hw a week.

Gunderson was pretty awesome. Definitely a nice lady who cares about the students. If you're taking stats you should definitely sign up for Gunderson or go to her lectures.

Prof Gunderson is great. As a class, its slow, tedious and rather boring, but Gunderson does a great job (especially when compared to the other profs). I'd recommend going to lecture for the notes, book is confusing. Study ALOT, tests are not the easiest and cover alot of material.

She is an awesome professor and the best for this class. She is very helpful and clear. Going to lecture is vital unless you are good at teaching yourself. Stay on top of the material since the final is cumulative. Lab is boring and only helpful half the time but it's mandatory, so go.

As everyone says, she's a good professor and explains the topic clearly. Go to lecture, take notes, and do the practice exams and you'll do fine. Lab is a complete waste of time, don't expect much out of it.

Did NOT want to take Stats, had to for my major..but i LOVED Gunderson! She was so sweet and genuinely loves Stats & wants her students to do well. She is always willing to help. Grading gives you many chances to do well. Easy to get in A in discussion portion, which can be useful in boosting final grade. Dont take Stats unless its with her!

She's adorable and makes stats seem super easy. I never needed help, but I've heard that she's very nice in office hours and will help you learn the material well. Just read over your notes after class and do the practice exams a few days before the exams, and you should be golden.

Professor Gunderson is very clear, approachable, and you can tell she loves teaching. She may not make you fall in love with stats, but if anyone can, she's the one. By far the best stats professor- avoid the others.

Class was extremely easy. 3 exams and lab worth 20% of grade. 2 grading methods to produce higher grade, and the class percentages are curved (88 is an A-). Gunderson is a great teacher. Don't have to go to lecture, must go to lab.

I had absolutely no desire to take this class--needed it for distribution, and I still am not very interested in the topic, but Gunderson does a fantastic job explaining everything clearly and is a really nice person. If you have to take stats, you MUST take stats with Gunderson! And it was a pretty easy class overall.

Everyone gushes about Gunderson and STATS 350, but I don't understand the hype. Her lecture isn't particularly captivating and she wastes time showing off photos of her family that noone cares about. Also, this course has a built in weekly lab requirement which is the biggest waste of time. Meh.

I took this class in the summer and we went through about 2 to 3 chapters per day and it was a breeze. She is so clear and helpful that anyone who wants to get an A will. The Lecture notes you can purchase are very helpful. She is one of the best profs I have had at Michigan!

She is a very sweet and nice teacher and is there just to help fill in the lecture notes for you. To do well in this class, you need to do the practice tests and go over them. I freaked out at my first B+ on the midterm, but an A or even an A+ is completely possible. I give it a 3 on easiness because you actually have to work in this class. you can't just bs your way and cram the last few days to do well.

This is extremely boring and you don't learn a lot. I learned more from ap-stats in high school than I did in this class, but if you need to take stats gunderson is the way to go.

Gunderson is so much better than the other lecturers. I was registered for Venable and never went to his lectures, but went to hers instead. She is not especially interesting, but the class is good.

Prof. Gunderson is absolutely phenomenal. This class is ridiculously easy if you put in the effort; she gives you thousands of different resources and a multitude of ways to learn . There's really no excuse for doing bad in this class. Lectures were sometimes a little boring, but honestly her lecture is always worth going to. And she's funny too!

If you're going into the class knowing you'll do the 80-20, fine. But the final isn't as ridiculously easy as everyone says. Keeping up SOMEWHAT with the lectures before hand will make that final weekend cramming for the final so much better! Most people end up doing 80-20 and the final mostly covers the material after exam 2 so keep up!

Gunderson is definitely one of the best professors I've had at UM. Not only is she a super caring and helpful lady, but she is an amazing teacher who knows the material really well, and knows how to explain it. The class itself is not very difficult if you stay on track and work hard throughout the semester.

Stats 250 = the ultimate system class. Much like econ 101 with gerson/malone this class is a set system and just following the system on ctools will give you success. The textbook is worthless and everything to study (lecture notes, previous exams, labs, problem roulette, and name that scenerio) are ONLINE. To study just do practice exams.

Dr. Gunderson is exceptionally clear when giving lectures. She lays out the important concepts and her lecture notes are extremely useful (don't take traditional notes, follow along in the Lecture Notes). The class itself is very easy; do the short pre-labs and HW, attend the labs, do practice exams, and you will get the grade you want.

Very good teacher. Makes the class interesting and easy to follow. She provides a lot of extra resources that make studying low stress and easy to do if you just put in the effort. Absolutely phenomenal.

The best lecturer you could ask for. Extremely clear and precise - drills home key concepts about a hundred times. If you don't understand statistics after taking this class with Gunderson, it's your own fault; she is a great audio, visual, and kinesthetic teacher.

She is awesome, best stats 250 professor there is. you can always bluereview if you are lazy like me. i never used the textbook. her notes are enough.

Gunderson is amazing! Incredibly clear explanations and she's super helpful and nice - put in the time you'll do great with her as a professor.

Gunderson is an amazing professor. She is such a nice woman and wants to make sure that every student does well. Do the homework, take the practice exams and do the review sheets she posts and you will do well in the class. Stats 250 is one of my favorite classes at Michigan.

She is amazing. Take the class CSP if you can and if you have a choice, Josh S. is the best GSI. This class was highly intriguing and amazingly useful. I really enjoy stats now and the class is what made me love math again after Calc 2 and 3. Everyone should be required to take this class.

She actually never makes mistakes. Don't take this class with anyone else, even if her section is super early. It is worth it. She is the nicest, most helpful professor and explains everything with extreme clarity.

I was terrified to take this class because I haven't taken math since mid high school and consider myself not a numbers person. But Gunderson made the class so reasonable, I was fine. I stopped going to class and watched all the blue reviews on my own time and got an A+. Always go to lab, have a GSI check your hw, and DO EVERY PRACE EXAM.

Professor Gunderson wasn't my "real" prof. I was in Venable's lecture, but emailed Gunderson and received permission to attend her classes. Best decision I've ever made. I even ended up doing "Take Your Professor to Lunch" with her, and she's such a kind lady. I called her my "Mom professor" because she truly loves her students.

She's not teaching anything interesting but the class is fairly easy to get an A in. She's the best professor to take for this class and teaches it extremely well. She's always willing to help. Just memorize the notes, how to interpret everything and you'll be set.

Some people find stats easy but I thought it was sort of difficult at first and Gunderson was very helpful throughout the semester and made the topic much easier than it would have been with other professors.

Fantastic. Extremely clear in lecture and very helpful in office hours. Class is not difficult if you put the work in. Many exam questions are similar to one's from past exams and the examples in lecture. Very good class that has helped me decide to take more stats classes.

I am not a math person and Gunderson made stats easy to comprehend. I definitely recommend taking class with her if possible. Workload wasn't too bad and exams are very similar every year. It's not hard to get an AB grade.

Class is super well organized! All the resources are right in front of you. You don't even need to go to class because all the lectures are online. Fantastic course, do the work and you will get an A.

When everyone says that you HAVE to take STATS 250 with Gunderson, they mean it. She is so nice, super clear in lecture, competent and organized as anything, and her voice is angelic.

While an excellent professor, there's really little she can do about making the coursework easier and more accessible for most students. The course has too many students for her to be able to help all of them. Thankfully she's a very clear speaker and very helpful for students that want to ask for clarification.

Such a great lecturer. She's taught this class enough times to know which subjects students have difficulty with, and makes sure to elaborate on them in class. I didn't want to take the class (it was required for my major) but I actually ended up loving it. Not super complicated if you stay current with the material and take practice tests.

If your are taking STATS 250, definitely take it with Dr Gunderson. Her lectures are greatly organized and easy to follow, and she is a very nice professor. My GSI was not that great, but Dr Gunderson really made up for it. The actual class is not easy, but Dr Gunderson gives you many resources for success.

I had to decide between this and MATH 115; needless to say I really don't regret taking this class. Gunderson is very clear and helpful in lecture. Has office hours in the SLC, so that's a nice plus. Very sweet, not demeaning at all when teaching you the material. A great professor, which is makes for a great learning experience. :D

Gunderson is the must have Stats 250 professor. She is very clear in class and she put together the lab and lecture notes pack together. Her lectures make the homework a lot easier to follow and really prepares her students well. She is a must have to get an A.

She rocks. She knows her stuff. She's really good at teaching but the exams were not that easy. She's a slow lecturer so I used to watch online at double speed. She's a great teacher. Take stats with her if you can. Attendance isn't mandatory but you should watch her lectures online.

Dr. Gunderson is one of the most helpful professors on this campus. Very sweet lady who makes the material as easy as possible and with so many practice problems, she provides ample material to study for the exams. Still tough to do well; I'd recommend doing all she offers + going to her office hours

Brenda is clear and concise and caring. She won't make unfair exams or have unrealistic expectations. Don't go in thinking it's a blow-off course because you won't get an A. Lab participation matters and so does homework. Getting a B is easy, work harder for an A.

Brenda was really great for this class. Although lecture could get kind of boring, it's only because she was making sure that every single person understood the material. The tests can be hard but that's unavoidable because of the class. Just ask questions if you're confused and you'll be fine. Definitely take 250 with her.

Do not take STATS 250 at 8:30 am, you will regret it. That said, Professor Gunderson made it worth it. She knows what she is talking about, she is adorable, and she brings a smile to every student's face. She gives clear examples which correlate with the exam material. Do not regularly skip lecture like I did, it will affect your grade :)

Gunderson is amazing, only take stats 250 from her! If you don't get her as a teacher watch the videos she posts online because iclicker's aren't mandatory in class. She is so willing to help her students and really cares about everyone. Stats was still pretty boring, but she has great energy and made the class very bearable. Great teacher!

AS long as you put effort in, an A is a sure thing. You can print textbook from canvas and attendance is not mandatory. Statistics can be boring but she makes it interesting. She is so willing to help. Her lecture is clear, helpful and funny. She even danced in class lol! Take her!

Gunderson knows the material as well as how to teach. She keeps lecture engaging, and posts everything online if you miss lecture. She's great at helping students, even though stats can be kinda tough at times. Put in the effort of a 4-credit course and you're almost guaranteed an A.

If you take Stats 250, I only recommend taking it with Gunderson. She's super nice, and clearly knows what she's doing in lecture. Only advice I would give to someone who's looking to get an A is to always go to lecture (even though it's recorded), and go to office hours before every homework is due and check it with a GSI; they're really helpful.

Dr. Gunderson gave students all the tools to succeed and was VERY clear about grading criteria. However, I felt like she sometimes went through the material at a pace for someone who took AP Stats in High School and lectures were extremely boring. I do recommend going to class and not watching online, as I think you absorb more in the classroom.

Dr. Gunderson was a great professor. I was enrolled in a different lecture section, but I never went and just watched Gunderson's lectures online. It's an extremely easy class if you keep up with the lectures. Definitely take this class with her if you can or watch the lecture recordings online.

She's very clear and friendly, though she can come off as bored at times. If you have no stats background or aren't particularly strong at math, expect to put in a fair amount of time per week to succeed. While it's no orgo/calc/physics, this is not a blowoff class, even for those who have taken AP stats.

Dr. Gunderson does a really good job of teaching stats to all levels of students, even those of us who aren't great at math. I had a different professor but much preferred watching her lectures online instead (as do many other students). She is very warm and helpful and definitely gives you all the information necessary to succeed in that class.

Super sweet woman. I honestly hated taking Stats 250, but she made it more bearable. If your class gets 100% on the iClicker questions, she'll do a cartwheel!!! And she always shows "pictures of the day" usually of her family or a stats comic strip. It's so cute!

Amazing professor, really makes an effort to make sure students understand the concepts. If you choose to go to lecture definitely go for hers - she explains everything so well. Would take any class with her. The class is quite easy and workload is very manageable - one online homework assignment (35 points) and one prelab (10 mins) every week.

I was terrified before taking this class. The prof. made it easy and I ended up with a B (could've got an A if I tried harder but took it p/f so...). There are a ton of resources for you to access during this class. Take HW seriously though!

Gunderson is extremely sweet and really wants you to do well. She talks slowly, so listening to her lectures on 1.5x or 2x is pretty time efficient. I don't know where the "stats 250 is an easy A, you don't have to study" thing came from, as that's definitely not true. Although getting a good grade is very possible, you really have to work for it.

Even if you aren't in her lecture I would recommend attending hers. She is the one who writes the course pack and her lecture slides go hand in hand with it. The homework is open online for a week, and I would suggest not waiting until the last day to start. By the time the homework is due, you're on another topic in lecture. ECoach is your friend!

I am actually in Alicia Romero's lecture. Wish I was in Gunderson's, but it's ok because you can watch lectures online. I really dislike Romero's analogies, and I just stopped showing up to her lectures. Now I just watch Gunderson's lectures online. They're recorded. Do yourself a favor and get into Gunderson's lecture. Romero is nice but not great

Gunderson is a good professor, try to make sure you attend lecture even if they are recorded. She's the most popular stats teacher, a must have. She's fun, yet tends to move fast.

Just get your hands on practice exams and understand the concepts behind them, utilize drop in SLC tutoring (for homework help and concept explanation), and rewatch gunderson lectures that's how I got an A when I took Stats Winter 16 :)

She was such a sweet and friendly person and by far the best professor for Stats 250. She was extremely helpful during office hours and actually wants the students to do well. There are many professors for this class, but I would highly recommend that you go to her lectures- great teacher!

Dr. Gunderson is one of the most articulate professors i've had at Michigan. She presents the material very well and goes at a perfect pace. She provides lots of extra resources to make learning stats enjoyable.

Great teacher, although monotone voice sometimes, she explains all concepts really really well. After watching her lecture videos, I can see why she's regarded as one of the best professors in the university. Best stats teacher by far. Class as a whole isn't too difficult if you're good at memorizing and knowing how to use your formula sheet.

If you have to take Stats, everyone knows Gunderson is your best bet. She was a good lecturer and clearly cares about her students' success, and she's also really endearing. However, be warned that Stats is not really a class that depends on your professor. You can go to any lecture you want anyway. Your success is dependent on the work you put in.

Even though I did not register for her class, since everyone (regardless of which professor you have) has the same exam and there are no lecture iclickers that count for grades, I always went to her lecture. She is the professor by far for stats 250, so even if you do not register for her class, go to her lecture or at least watch them online.

Gunderson is good, but 250 is tanking my GPA due to unnecessary nitpicky point deductions on exams.

Gunderson is probably the best prof for Stats 250. As long as you follow along and go to class, you'll be fine. A doable class if you put in some effort.

Despite past students telling me the class was easy, the class curriculum has changed as of recent, and the material isnt a breeze to internalize. I wouldnt call this class easy, but I would say the work you put into it accurately reflects how you will do in the class.

250 has definitely changed and is no longer a blowoff. The HW's can be tricky, MWrite is dumb, and our E1 avg grade was a 53/75 compared to 69/75 last year (NO curve). This class was still very very easy (just not a joke) if you put in just a little bit of time. Lots of freshmen to pad the bottom of the grading scale.

Brenda is a sweet woman. Lecture is very slow but if you pay attention you shouldn't have an issue with getting a decent grade.

This class is hard, but it's not beyond anyone's abilities. It's absolutely vital that you're proactive about learning the material: go to as many lectures as possible and do your HW during GSI office hours where you can get valuable help in working thru the problems. Also there's a list of approved student tutors on the class Canvas page, too. :)

Gunderson is a great lecturer. She explains the material very clearly, and her notes are fill-in-the-blank. You can watch her lectures at home, or in person to get extra credit. The exams aren't too difficult. My only complaint is the lab seemed kind of pointless. If you have a good GSI, you can at least get help on homework during lab.

Stats is not the class for me (love the material, can't perform well on exams making up most of the grade). That being said, I loved going to class with Brenda. She is so sweet, so intelligent, and very good at lecturing. Takes time to go through the material so that nobody feels left behind, lets class out 5-10 mins early, and is very easygoing

STATS 250 is most definitely no longer a blow off class like it once used to be. Even doing practice exam after practice exam and studying for hours for exams, I can only manage to get Bs on the tests. The content isn't anything difficult, but the tests are extremely nitpicky for no reason. However, Gunderson is very sweet and helpful.

Gunderson is the best choice if you must take Stats 250. I would have done much worse in the class without her. She clearly communicates material that can be confusing. She also throws in entertaining slides about her family, vacations, etc. Now and again she does a cartwheel. And she includes lots of exam review in lecture, which is a bonus.

I didn't have Gunderson, but watching her lectures does wonders! Grades are majorly based on exams which are honestly not hard to study for but it is easy to miss points here and there. I definitely spent a good amount of hours reviewing before exams and don't think it is hard to pull at least a B/B+ on exams if you put time in before!

This class would have been a nightmare without Gunderson. She explains concepts thoroughly and simply, and is willing to explain them in a different way if you ask. It's easy to lose points that add up on tests, so make sure you study as much as you can before each exam. She's very entertaining during class.

Took this class 2 years ago and I just remember how cute and fun she was. She personally writes congratulatory letters to those with high grades. Stats can be tricky, but if you take good notes and read exam questions carefully, you will get an A. I remember last day of class, she did a cartwheel. Really a sweet and cute teacher

Super kind and she makes her lectures easy to understand. You can tell she really cares about teaching the class. The tests are a little tricky, but even just reviewing the notes will probably help you get 70% of the material down - the rest is just doing problem roulette or practice exams. Go to as many lectures as possible to get extra points.

Dr. Gunderson was a great prof. Knew the material perfectly and was the reason I attended her lectures at 830am. Very helpful outside of class too, and lots of extra credit opportunities if you attend lectures in person.

DO NOT TAKE STATS250 UNLESS ITS GUNDERSON. I cannot emphasize this enough. the other profs make everything so complicated but Gunderson is a god send who makes everything so clear and records lectures. stopped showing up to my own class and watched hers, grade went from C to A.

Gunderson is great. Period. However, you need to be warned that there is no curve for the course. Over half of students got a C or less on an exam, and it still didn't matter. The grading is so meticulous that even one mistake will cost you an A. You would be smart to take Gunderson -- give yourself the best possible chance to do well if you can.

Gunderson is the queen of stats. She explains things clearly and in multiple ways if she sees mass confusion. Goes through examples thoroughly and seems to really care if her students are understanding the material. The class apparently used to be easier but now the exams are pretty rough.

Gunderson is easily the best of the stats professors at Michigan. It doesnt matter at all what lecture you register for because you dont need to go throughout the semester. Just watch all of Gundersons lectures on Canvas a week before the exam and you will understand everything. She does a great job explaining and entertaining. (1.5x speed)

Dr. Gunderson is the ideal Stats 250 professor. Only some lectures are mandatory but go for extra credit. Dr. Gunderson says a lot of helpful things and stresses important ideas. If you have to take Stats 250, take it with her.

Exams are very difficult because there isn't a curve. A lot of questions are very technical and you need to review terms very deeply/remember interpretations. I suggest highlighting important information in lecture notes and doing all the extra credit. Be thorough and study early for the exams.

Gunderson is the Stats professor that everyone wants; she runs the show for Stats 250. In theory, she is not all that enthralling, or at least I cannot point to anything. Yet, it works, perhaps because of how prepared she is. She could recite her lesson word-for-word without referencing her slides. The tests are pretty hard, so study hard!

Dont make the same mistake I did. I didnt study the HW well enough. Everything that will be on exams can be found in either the recommended HW, required HW, practice exams, or lecture example problems. STUDY ALL OF THOSE and you will do well!!!

Gunderson is wonderful. She is so sweet and concise, and is always prepared. Definitely the best lecturer for 250 and why I showed up to my 8:30 lecture twice a week. Beware of the exams, because the material can seem deceptively easy but the exams are hard. Go to GSI office hours for help!

I highly recommend going to the office hours to do the weekly HW. She releases two practice exams before each exam. Doing atleast one helps a ton! Gunderson is best Stats professor at Mich by far, but she goes super slow during lecture so very easy to lose focus, LABS ARE HUGE, seriously pay much more attention on labs and make sure u get mark, he prepares u well, lectures and coursepack aren't really helpful, understand how to do every practice problem and many practice tests and its easy

Absolutely LOVE Gunderson! Cute, nice, fun/engaging lectures. She's very good at clearly explaining things/going over things you might need. Office hours are good to even just chat with her or for help. You can tell she wants you to do well! Sit near the front & she will know you! Made me really like stats! If you do the work, the grade will come.

This woman is the GOAT. Her lectures are very informative and takes every opportunity to answer questions. She is charming and helpful, definitely made stats a good experience.

The best professor I've had at Michigan. In class, she is always willing to explain concepts again, and in great detail, making for engaging lectures that always leave you feeling like you've learned something new. You can tell she genuinely cares about her students, too. If you have to take 250, definitely take it with Gunderson.

Professor Gunderson was absolutely amazing. Her course pack contains everything needed and she was truly accommodating for students during the transition to online teaching. I heard that she won't be teaching this class soon, but if you get the opportunity, take a class with her. This course was definitely exam heavy (80%), but manageable.

Gunderson made STATS250 so awesome and enjoyable! The course is A LOT of busy work but everything was manageable by just going to office hours frequently. Doing practice tests before the exams is also a must. The switch to online teaching was seamless, and I could tell the instructors and GSIs did everything they could for students.

While I did not have the chance to meet Professor Gunderson in person, I took this course remotely SP 2020 and from her Friday Focus videos and her clear lecture (recordings) I found this class to be entirely manageable. You obviously have to put in the time to practice and understand the concepts but she did an excellent job explaining main ideas.

This class is way harder than it used to be. Luckily, Brenda is the best teacher ever.

I had her online during the spring semester and the class was a breeze. I'm not sure if that's the nature of the course or if it was easier due to the online format, but she made sure to accommodate for the strange circumstances. Tests were fair and there was a plentiful amount of extra credit opportunities. Gunderson is really good at her job.

3 or 4 years ago people would say this class was a joke, but I can tell you that is no longer the case. I took this class in person F19 and it was a lot of work with really difficult exams. Luckily, Brenda is the best teacher in the world. Go to her lectures and office hours and you will succeed!

Gunderson is an amazing professor. She cares about students and explains the concept very well! Take this class with her. Love her! Go to GSI office hour for homework help and ask more questions once you stuck. The homework are annoyin but it does help you with the hardest concept. If you willing put in effort, you will succeed in this class.

Awesome professor and human. Cares about her students like they are her own children. Gave us snacks and wellness breaks. On the last day of class she even did a cartwheel! If you ever have the chance to take a course with her, please do it.

Professor Gunderson was the sweetest professor. She is very clear during her lectures and on the lecture slides. The homework in the class is a bit frustrating and during office hours they aren't able to tell you if you are correct. However the extra credit and many assignments balances out the grades very well.

Professor Gunderson was incredible. She was literally the sweetest person I had ever met. I preferred working with her in a one-on-one setting, but her lectures were good too. Sometimes the lecture work did not seem to match up with the homework, but other than that Brenda is a great stats 250 instructor.
