This was a great class, not too hard, but way too much reading. I had great conversations with Dr. Juarez outside of class, she is very friendly and happy to help students in any way she can. She's doesn't realize how strict she is. We had to read a bunch of articles and one or two small books. I took this class in a month. It was stressful.

I really enjoyed this teacher and loved her class. I learned so much from her. If you take her, you need to have an open mind and be willing to work hard.

She seems a little crazy but if you stick with her she's absolutely wonderful. If you looking for an easy class this isn't it. She gives a lot of reading almost every class period but she's a good teacher. She knows her stuff. I really enjoyed having her.

Dr. Juarez (w) told us at the begiining of class, "I'm only trying to give you your money's worth!" She requires you to actually learn the material, and it's a class about white racism, so if you're white (w) you may be offended. Well she was one of my first professors at south and it made me very happy with my decision to move back home! She is a wonderful lady! There is no way you can't fall in love with her! I'll be honest - at one point or another during this class, you WILL want to drop. But seriously, if you just stick it out it will all be worth it. It's not a class that you can slack off in, you have to work hard for your grade. But in the end you will know that it was well deserved. Be prepared to think, and think differently.

I think she is one of the best teachers or the best teacher that I have ever had. She is sincere, thorough and really opens your mind, if you are willing to open yours. She really makes you think, and her overload of work, really does educate you. She works to accomodate her students' needs, and is very understanding.

She gives you hours of homework, its easy homework just time consuming. The class was often annoying and repetitive. She can be judgemental and narrowminded though she claims not to be.

If you are scared of doing actual work, Dr. J isn't for you. Our first impression of Dr. J was that she was on drugs. She is overly passionate and enthusiastic about her subject. The amount of homework she assigns is RIDICULOUS. Don't take her unless you are willing to read 20+ pages and write an essay EVERY class. I really did enjoy her though. She is sweet and unique and will help you any way she can.

Being a middle aged white guy, there was not much I didn't already know about how the world works. But having the text and research to see myself how it all comes together was intriguing. The work load is tremendous, 12 hrs. a week. This class in not for the faint of heart and it builds lots of neurons.

Lots of work. Takes perseverence to succeed in Dr J's class. You have to be aware and really want to fight for our children in our schools today. If you dont like Dr. J or her class, you just live behind rose colored glasses and you need to take a moment to walk in someone else's shoes.

I really enjoyed Dr. J's class and have learned a lot. She requires a lot out of you in the way of homework but all requirements are very clear and understandable from the beginning. Take notes during class time and make SURE you attend every class! She doesn't really take attendance but you need to be there in order to get homework assignments! Great teacher highly recommended!

It is easy to see that Juarez is passionate about what she teaches. You may not always agree with her, but she does open your eyes to the real world. She takes time to get to know her students and you can tell she cares about everyone. There is a lot of homework that is REQUIRED, but she puts awesome stickers on your work! :-) Take her; she cares.

I had heard some things going into Dr. J's class and most of them proved to be true. She does expect a lot from her students and sometimes the workload is a little much. She expects intelligent responses and pushes you to think outside of the box. It can be uncomfortable, but she really does care about her students and their success as teachers.

Dr. J is an amazing and wonderful teacher who cares about her students and knows her stuff! A lot of people think she "hates white people" but if you actually sit in her class and listen to what shes saying you will realize she is just speaking the truth about our society. I highly recommend Dr. J, you won't regret taking her class!

Dr. J is the most active teacher in the college of education. It is a real travesty that she will be leaving, but i wish her all the best at UMass. Be prepared for real enlightment.

A lot of work, but you learn a lot. Dr Juarez is one of the only professors I have met who actually gives a damn about the students' well-being.

Dr. Juarez is a wonderful teacher! She is very organize and know her materials very well! I really enjoy taking her class! Although it's a lot of work but you'll be a great teacher in the future.

Dr. Jaurez is an awesome teacher. Be prepared to do alot o homework and reading. But its worth it. The homework she assigns is the research you would do for your papers. She's awesome and smart like that. She does NOT hate white people. lol She will open your eyes to another perspective on society and the world. Must take class.
