This professor is by far the easiest professor I have had!! Just do your participation work and show up and you will be fine! The tests are mostly from your vocabulary and she reviews the day before and the day of the test! Recommended to take during the summer or through a fast track. I actually liked govt after taking her!!
Professor Silva, is a very nice woman and is very passionate about all of her beliefs and ofcourse politics. She is also very knowledgeable. More importantly for alot of you she is EASY!!! The easiest class I have ever taken, made an A. Looking to take her for 2302, but she is not teaching it here as of now.
Great teacher. Just do the key terms and you will be fine. Smart, analytical...but I dont know who put that she was hot. Anyway, always has the students best intrest in mind. A gem for a teacher.
She is very easy and nice. She's the kind of teacher that wants a student to pass. She goes over the test the class before and before the test. Very kind and interesting. She gets you to learn the material without you know it. Recommended!!!!!!!

If you have to take GOVT, take Dr. Silva's fast track courses. This is one of the easiest teacher's I have taken during college. She wants you to do a good job, and she cares about her students. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND her. Did I mention that she is one of the hottest teachers at san jac. lol
I LOVE DR. SILVA! She is such an inspiration. I had her for both 2302 and 2302!! The only thing she asks of you is to keep up with vocab, articles, and papers. Don't stress... she assigns two short papers, and you have to have four articles and present two of those. She is so awesome. I think she should run for office and become President!!!!!!!!!
i took her class in the fall and its an easy a, if working and have no time take but serious about studies . shes more than helpful and she knows most about her students she is great.............. fab.
Doc is absolutely one of the best teachers I've ever had. She wants everyone to succeed and is the fairest person I know. You'll use your book mainly for the vocabulary words which you are required to write and keep in a notebook. You'd have to work really hard to fail this class. Doc's awesome!
I took her class during the summer and she is so EASY! Seriously, it was easier than high school. She read off the test and gave us all the answers right before we took the test. Plus she is really laid back and cares alot for her students. You should definetly take her! You'll get a good grade for sure.

her class is a SUPER EASY A... it's kind of like being in junior high. Made my semester a whole lot easier. All we do is discuss what's happening in the world along with a couple of tests here and there.

Awesome Teacher. Knows what she's talking about, and really shows you whats really going on in the world, not just what the media says. Tests are easy just be sure to do the 2 research projects (rubric given at beginning of semester). TAKE HER. You will get an A and enjoy her class.

Took for GOVT 2301 and 2302. Pretty much the most laid back professor ever. Tests were simple and research paper could be finished in less than 2 hours. Just show up for an A!

AMAZING. You learn so much in her class. She has so much knowledge and experience in EVERYTHING. You can ask her for help and advice in ANYTHING. Very responsive by e-mail. She is so empowering. Very kind and welcoming. Funny as hell! There are a few essays but the class itself is not hard. She even says not to stress out for her class!

she has a really easy course schedule. she explains alot and is funny sometimes. simple tests and you actually learn things about government. you might forget after a few weeks but you do learn for a while.

doc silva rocks makes the subject tolerable for those of us who are forced to take this to graduate id take this teacher for any other subject she tought in if she was available you get your moneys worth and then some.
She was the most amazing and intelligent professor I have ever had. She will not leave a single student behind if ou ask for help. She's extremely understanding when it comes o things cropping up in studnt's lives, as some teachers have no tolerane for "excuses." I took her for both AG I&II and got an A+ each semester. This is a very caring teacher. She loves her job and enjoys teaching her students. If you have a dificulty let her know and she is very understanding. Before I took the class, I did not understand govt and she taught it in a way that was interesting. I really do hope that she continues to teach. I took both of her courses govt.1301,1302 and passed.
had her for mini. she's easy and laid back. one of the smartest people you will ever meet. loves to talk alot and goes off on tangent, but good tangents. she gets her point across. she always review for the tests. grade distribution is attendance, tests, 4 current event articles, and a 2 page paper. if you have a super busy life, take her.

I took Silva for Govt 1 and will def take her for Govt 2. She is the best. She is funny and smart and i really enjoyed going to her class. She makes you write a paper and you will also take 3 exams. Piece of cake! easy A!

Show up, have vocab completed prior to class, add an extra note during lecture, participate (if she doesn't know your name there goes your A), take care of your folder, spend a couple of hours prior to the test going over vocab, and you will then need to answer 1 question correctly on the final to get an A.
Dr. Silva is one of the best teacher at San Jacinot. She is quite funny and really has a unique style of teaching. Do your vocab words for each chapter;one 2 page research paper & 4 half page article summaries about current events. Gives reviews prior to tests. I hated government before i took this class. I'm from canada so it was hard for me to understand a different form of government but Dr Silva is clear and makes government easy and almost even fun. She'll explain things in a unique way and she makes it easy to attend class everyday. If you have to take govt this is definatly the teacher to take.
Dr. Silva's class is by far the best college class I have tae nin all my years. While her instruction method weaves outside the boundaries of common rhetoric it never sways from being informative, and keeps you interested. Certainly was the most fun ive had in a classroom in 20 years. Pay attention and you wont be dissapointed in the results.

i took her during a summer mini and to my surprise she is the best teacher that anyone can ask for. She is hilarious and when she lectures on a chapter she will sometimes act out how it was like. she is a goof ball and is not boring at all.

Show up every day or you might miss a good story :) I took her Friday class for both 2301 and 2302 and recomend it, we just talk current events for the first hour then get to the subject during the second half. I took history 1301 with Silva and it was the easiest class ever!! i barely have to study the review was practically the test! i would recommend this teacher cause i didnt like govt but being in that class I would actually listen. She is the BEST teacher in all of San Jac. She is funny, clear and helpful. I took her for Govt 1 mini and I am now in her Govt 2 for this semester. I hated government, but she actually makes you care about it. In my opinion, other teachers are not an option if you have to take government.

If it weren't for "Rate My Professor" I would never have found her. Excellent teacher, knows how short are attention spans are in college. Didn't care for the dang high school kids talking about there cows but she could shut them up. Take some notes, need book for volcabulary, easy mulitlpe choice tests, Some easy essays, loves jokes and stories.

Totally awesome teacher! If you're taking Government for the first time, Doc Silva is the best to have. Students returning for the second half of the course absolutely love her - unless they flunked, which is pretty hard. But Dr. Silva is definitely the best our Government department has to offer.

Professor Silva is one of the teachers you must try to get while in college. Tests are easy (based exactly off the review) and as long as you do the work and show up to class you will not fail. She keeps you the entire class period (I had her tues 7-10pm)and even though the class dragged at times, she still made it interesting.Def need her for 2302

Doc is the most awesome professor around! She makes one of the most tedious subjects interesting and applies it to the real world in a way everyone can understand. Doc also always has time gor her students even though she's always super busy, and will go over any subject or topic that is we don't understand.
This teacher was excellent. She gave us everything to study for the test. Could you believe there we still folks that got a b or c. They just did not apply what she was teaching. Must take her if you want a good teacher. I took 2301 and don't remember anything with another teacher.
Do you need credit for political science? Dont be a roasty toasty marshmallow...get the "A" you need for that GPA.... this is the most enjoyable/funny prof for political science.

Took Doc for my 2302 and 2301 class and cannot commend her more. The experience of her class alone is enough to justify taking her. As long as you do the work and come to class, you WILL get an A. It's impossible not to. If you do bad, she wont hesitate to "gas up the truck." Wish she taught all courses. Going to miss her for sure.
Silva is probably the best professor I've ever had. Government is not my thing and I looked forward to her class and her stories every week. There is seriously NO WAY you can do badly in this class. Just do your vocabulary and the reviews and you will make an A. Take her - you won't regret it.

This teacher is the best government teacher I've ever had. The class is easy. Attendance is required. I hardly used the textbook. It definitely helps, but I made A's on all my exams without it. 4 article summaries and a research paper are required. No matter who u take a research paper is req, but she makes it easy so don't let that discourage u.

First of all, B.K is one of my fav professor. I took B.K for Gov.2301, because i had heard about her teaching style, and honestly they were not kidding.Not only is it intresting, but it sure is not boring...B.K is an excellent professor,bar none.I highly recomend B.K.
Communication, understanding, and respect are all of the qualities you will find in a good professor. That's why Dr. BK Silva is outstanding! she cares for her students. This teacher was the most easiest teacher I will ever have in college. Her review study guide are THE TEST, I mean word for word THE TEST. We had to put together a folder which required us to do all the chapter vocabulary and four articles, which are super duper easy and two easy easy papers. MUST TAKE. TRUST ME. I hate gov. but hey I got an A.
Don't take her on Fri from 8:30 - 11:20. She lectures for hours without any breaks. I was so tired in the morning, I could barely stay awake to listen to her. She's VERY easy and you learn a lot from her. test reviews = test. She is not hard at all. I'm taking her for govt 2302.
Dr. Silva is an absolute asset to SJC, Houston, and the students she instructs. Her mind is like a steel trap, fast, so don't under estimate her. An attorney, not that you will assume that by first impression. I think she likes to be underestimated, actually I'm sure of it. A wonderful professor and a wonderful woman. TAKE HER

If you like to do extra work then take this teacher. You have to do 4 Article Assignments, and 1 5-Page Opinion Essay and 1 3-4 page research opinion paper. You also have to do vocab and u need to do a folder with ALL THE REQUIREMENTS she wants if not you get points deducted also if you dont have your san jac id card she takes of points from tests
I took her for govt 2301 too. she was extremely easy. but for govt 2302, she got a bit more difficult. some professors at san jac were ratting her out about her test reviews because they are exactly like the test. she mainly gives out more work this semester. it's okay though, it's not that bad. just do the course notebook & memorize definitions
I took GOVT 2301 & 2302 with her the same time, but she makes it so easy for me to study, and I got 2 A. She always post clear guidelines for all the assignments. She is the easiest and funniest professor ever. You should take her at any price, and you'll see how true what I said is!!!

I have had her for both 2301 and 2302. Very entertaining to listen too. This is a college course so you have work to do. Don't be shy in college your not in High School anymore! You have 4 reading assignments that you need to talk to the class about. Memorize a few important Consitutional rights and Admendments and write out some chps with 4-5 Test
I've NEVER been interested in politics but she helps you understand why these things are important & how you personally are affected. Attendance is VERY important. She will knock points off your average for each unexcused absence. Most of the test is vocab & comprehension. Need the book. Memorize vocab, go to class, easy A

Under the guise of college administration pressure, she has changed this class. Now, she is one HARD instructor! Would not respond to email as to why I got a B in her class. Interresting class, but forget having a social life if you take this class!
I've taken Dr. Silva's 2301 class and now on her 2302 class. She is very knowledgeable! Yes, discussion goes off topic but it's GOVERNMENT people! Its not for everyone. Her way of teaching is unbelievably effective. You learn by listening. Grades aren't handed for free. You gotta work for it just like every other class there is.

She is freaking amazing, took her for both 2301 &2302.Taking notes in her class are really the best thing you can do, the reading is dry but she makes it come to life. If you want a professor who really cares, who is understanding and quirky enough to make the class interesting take her!!! You will not be disappointed!!!!

Ok so about the bad comments Silva is getting. They are from the ones who aren't doing anything that is conducive to actually learning. She is one of the best professors there is at that school. Her classes are ridiculously easy and if you don't take her, you WILL miss out. Oh and the notes you take in her class will be your bible!!!

If you want someone who is consistent and concerned about you academically then she is the one for you. If you don't plan on working then she is not because she is going to help you to succeed in your college career. That is life.

All she ever talked about was her personal life. The notes were useless, and the textbook really wasn't all that helpful either. Her grading is based on personal beliefs and if you differ in opinion from her, your grade WILL suffer. I prefer to work alone, yet she forced us to do group studying and assignments. I definitely wouldn't take her again.

Dr Silva is the kind of professor where you actually have to pay attention and be there, if you actually talk to her she'll try her best to help you out. This is college. Dr. Silva is clear in instruction, her stories are entertaining and educational, and she is always there to help students who really want to learn.
Hands down best government professor around. Knows her stuff, and as long as you put in an effort to do well, you will. My only regret was that I didn't take her for the first government class. I wish she taught other subjects too, so I could take her more. Amazing, amazing woman.
I just finished taking Dr.Silva's summer (5 weeks) Federal Government course she explains everything that you need to know and gives you great examples to understand the material! Very educated teacher and loves what she does. Like any other course you have to study and put your effort to pass the class. Highly recommend her!
Silva is wonderful! She's kind, helpful, and loves for her students to interact. She gives a lot of assignments (better get on those QRQs!), but it's better to have all these small b.s. assignments that have major one's that can really mess you up. Also, get ready to write a 8 page paper she gives you like a month and a half to do. Super easy A!

I took this class over the summer. it was an easy pass class as long as you do your work but she does give alot of assignments. oh and she also assigns a 7 page paper to do, which i didnt do and still passed the class with a B. She has been the worst professor I have ever taken at San Jac. She will not post grades until after the semester is over so you have no idea where you stand in the class. Her lectures are full of her rambling about things that will not be on the test. Right before tests she gives you worksheets to study and they help but she does not teach well.
All you have to do is Show up, listen, take notes, study your notes and your worksheets. Only a midterm and final test. One 5 to 7 page research paper. she ask you to read the entire book before the midterm, but I have never opened it and that is the same for her gov2305 too. She is informative, an amazing person to talk to, and genuinely cares.
Alright if you like to teach yourself then this is the class for you! she gives lectures like none other and you'll get lostbored right away. the biggest thing that bothered me was that she NEVER posted grades online so you don't know what you made in the class until after finals. don't take this class if you struggle with being self taught.

Within the first two weeks of class I knew more about her personal life and other random things than I did government. You might as well take this course online because you're expected to read the entire textbook within the first few week of class anyway.

She never grades anything until finals come around. She makes you do many outside of school projects and attend many events for a grade.
Dr. Brenda Silva, J.D. has been the most influential professor to me thus far. Let me tell you the truth about either of her courses, it is NOT hard if you put the work in. She's really an awesome professor; really friendly. I suggest this course or Federal Government 2305 to everyone. All you gotta do is #staythecourse and you'll be fine.

Sylvia spent most of her time talking about her personal life, and near none talking about Government She claimed that everything on the test was covered in class when it wasn't, again, all she really talked about was her life We didn't get back any grades till after the drop date as well, so once we knew how we were doing it was to late to drop
As long as you pay attention to her lectures (which are really interesting and she'll insert stories and such), skim the textbook, and do the work, you'll get an A. Only 2 tests which are kind of hard but the other grades will balance it out. She's really busy though so sometimes it's hard to catch her.
There are so many outside assignments, so many. Dont take her if you have a life outside of school. really.
Really helpful. Likes to give short assignments to take the pressure off of the tests. One paper - but follow the instructions and it is easy. Had a few life emergencies hit this time - and was SUPER easy to work with. Doc CARES. Will take again in the fall for the other Texas class!

Rarely does she ever talk about Government. Every lecture it was maybe 20 mins of Government and the rest was stories of her life. The outside assignments are easy enough, but if you work or have a life outside of class, don't even bother taking this class. There are so many of them. You have to read the book outside of class. Tests are from book.
The exams are bit hard but if you stay up with the readings and the notes you'll be fine. She's very understanding so it makes the class a lot easier.
Do not buy the book save yourself money and just buy the online version. It is the end of the semester and mine is still in the wrapping. She is very passionate about government and is very great at lecturing.
Professor Silva is an absolutely fantastic professor. If you read the book when you are supposed to, and do the assignments as instructed, you will likely recieve a relatively high grade. Dont forget to take notes religiously, as much of the information covered on the tests is taught during the lectures.

She is a pretty rad professor. Gave good lessons for the most part and did certain things to help you remember the stuff you were learning. She did sidetrack a bit but it always seemed to tie in to what she was teaching at the moment. A few outside of class projects are assigned, but those are a breeze.
I did not learn anything in this class. test did not even relate to the material we cover in class. well she barely cover anything, she only talk about her life. however she gives you good grades on everything you turn in but her test are hard and what count the most. she doesn't post grades on blackboard either

The best professor. Expects you to read and study, but this IS college. Life changing class, great advice, and a killer sense of humor. You won't fall asleep in this class. Just ask if you have questions about your grade. Also, examples from her life are related to class and are usually pretty funny. Would you rather have a prof that never laughs?
Professor Silva is by far the only professor at San Jac South that gives her students the "real life scenario" in her classes not the "textbook approach".I would highly recommend any student at San Jac to take her classes, you will retain subject matter after class and you will know how to apply it. This skill is extremely crucial once you graduate
Dr. Silva is a real sweetheart. Gives you her honest opinion and has the students best interest at heart. However, there's a fair amount of "busy work" involved with this class, NOT HARD WORK, just busy work. I appreciated the assignments that encouraged us to get involved with school and community activities. I would take her again.
At times, She can drone, but she's pretty alright. Keeps the atmosphere light and knows what she's talking about, you have to be fairly organized for her class though, so be aware of that.

Midterm and Final are directly from the textbook and are not hard at all. She has a great personality and is passionate of what she does.

Worst class i have ever taken! She's a very late grader. Boring lecture and often wanders into her life experiences. Disorganised lecture, making it kinda hard to follow in the textbook. No extra credit! Tests r pretty hard if u r not good at gov. Lecture doesnt cover much so read the book if u wanna pass!! Do not recommend!!
She's very funny and her humor keeps the class interesting. But her lectures are long and she often gets off topic. Test are comprehensive so make sure to take LOTS of notes and study them. Most annoying thing is that she takes FOREVER to post grades. Overall, her class is easy as long as you do the simple assignments and study notes.

I took her for both of my government classes. I loved being in her class. She doesn't put up with BS, and the bad reviews come from students who tried her patience. She is incredibly intelligent and passionate about everything she talks about. She even mixes life lessons and fun stories into the class. Highly recommended. Low workload, too.

Dr. Silva is a good teacher, but her style of teaching was not for me. She expects you to read the entire textbook by the midterm. I read one chapter and gave up. Make sure to do all the assignments. My biggest complaint would be that she never posted 650/1000 points on blackboard so I don't know what I made on the final, only my final grade.

Dr. Silva is amazing. She is very attentive even though it may seem like she goes off on tangents. She is excellent at grabbing your attention and keeping you focused on the lecture. There is very little that she does or says without reason. I had her for both of my required government classes and I wish she would teach my other classes as well.

I took Prof Silva for a summer class and I must say she was quite the experience. Typically she uses most of the time given, so do not expect to get out of class early too often. Her class is lecture based so make sure to pay attention. Though she may got off topic at times, everything she does is for a reason.

Honestly, i was on my phone 75% of the time. Just copy down the notes she writes on the board, study her quizzes and worksheets, and you'll get an A. She covers and hints a lot of stuff thats going to be on the final. But if u dont study, u wont pass the final which is the only test fail course. So study and review. Also several easy assignments.

The final was easy as long as you write down what she puts on the board. But she doesn't put grades in until the last minute so you have no clue if you're passing or not.
Probably the WORST professor Ive ever taken. She doesnt post grades until AFTER the final so you dont know if youre failing or passing the whole semester. She is the worse professor ever. She doesnt grade any assignment given. I learned nothing in that class. Ive learned more about her. Her hygiene is so bad that her body odor lingers throughout the room. When you ask her a question she is very rude. I would not recommend anybody to take this class.

Not only that but most of the time she's not even teaching, but telling old "stories" from her past that add nothing to the lecture. Not to mention the pointless assignments and essays. Won't give you a syllabus or class schedule, yet will blame you for any confusion about deadlines. Nothing will be graded until after the last day of class. She even marked one assignment missing, until I discovered she just misplaced it. "Lectures" are nothing more than boring stories of her personal life, so don't expect to learn any government.

Her personality was fine, pretty friendly, but as a professor, probably one of the worst. She had no PowerPoints, no reference to take notes off of and was hard to keep track throughout the long lectures. She goes off topic almost all the time. I had only two grades in total, a final and a required signature assignment.
Teach yourself sort of course. She put the textbook online and make handouts on Blackboard, and you have to learn from there. "Lectures" are asking random things from the book and waiting to see if anyone knows it, if not she explains it. If she repeats it TWICE it's important! Not many assignments just short self-reflection papers.
Lectures consist of so many personal stories and tangents that it became impossible to tell what to remember. Took forever to put in grades, and gave very little work in the first place, so every grade mattered. No powerpoints meant it was hard to know what was discussed, or if anything important was missed. Too many handouts. Very stressful class.
Read the textbook. Honestly not sure why we are required to come to class when so far I'm teaching myself. I learn little to nothing. Her stories are...something. She tries to scare these students with oh you need to be able to do a 15 page research paper as a sophomore in college in a weekend.. newsflash you rarely if I ever do. Not a bad person.

I will state that her pop quizzes do make up for her bad lectures. Do yourself a favor, and do not get fooled by her rating on here expecting an easy professor... save yourself!
Worst professor in all of san jac. Worst note taking methods, gets off topic very fast. Doesn't even turn the projector on for notes. She makes no sense when she lectures, i get lost every time.

Assigned us a 750 word research paper AS A SIGNATURE ASSIGNMENT & gave us ONE week to do it, implying that she thinks that her class is the only class that matters. It's like she shows up every day thinking "whatever ill just wing whatever i say in my lecture"- PLEASE be considerate to your students! The way she teaches makes it very difficult to succeed in her class. She doesn't think to create powerpoints, doesn't think to go over whatever chapter in preparation for the lecture, etc.
Why are there so many 4 stars?
No test reviews. No powerpoints/any visual aid. Makes you read 600 page textbook within 8 weeks (this is super easy... IF I HAD NO OTHER CLASSES.) Makes you do 750 word research essay due within a week (this is super easy... IF I HAD NO OTHER CLASSES.) She has 3 papers total and ONE test- seems easy right? NO. she provides no assignments to assist.

Dr. Silva is NOT an educator but a subject specialist. She does not and will not give feed back on any graded material at all. She will also not allow anyone to know their grade in the class until after finals. The entire textbook is expected to be read and memorized within 8 weeks. Swerve before taking her class.

Definitely knows what she is talking about, but not a good educator. Seems to just wing her lectures. Goes super in depth about niche topics but does not explain the big picture of governmental topics. I don't learn anything in this class, expected to basically teach yourself. Seriously do not take this professor.

She has truly made it impossible.

Literally the worst professor I have ever taken, this class has caused me so much stress and I would never take another take another class from her. She never lectures and instead just talks about her life the entire class time. Most days she went over class time because she would only actually lecture the last five minutes of class.
I feel like she doesn't take her class seriously at all. She's always talking about random stuff that has NOTHING to do with the government. She gives you no time to do your essays, thinking she's the only class you take. she doesn't grade till the very last minute, and even at that gives no feedback at all.
I would not take this class again especially with professor Silva. She gets off track every time she lectures, and never really covers the material that needs to be covered. She tends to talk more about her personal life than what needs to be learned in class. The way she grades is very difficult to know if you are passing the class or not.
It's been nearly a week since we took our final exam and we all do not know where we stand in this class because the professor has not given us our final exam grades yet. It is so unfair to the students that this professor does last minute exam questions and grades everything the week of yet gets mad at students when they read the textbook last min
For those who procrastinate with your essays- DON'T. you have to try to at least get a 100 on them all. The exam will be difficult to study for because she provides little to no help at all. I assume many of her students will get bad grades on the exams and she will need to drop it because she hasn't even put in the final exam grades yet

professor silva yaps the whole class. goes very off topic is a liar says the weirdest things to get your attention to make it seems like shes cool. lots of handouts kinda helpful, test is relativity easy, she has a lot of body odor sit in the back, her class is always cold. but respect her, stay quiet, and study and youll be fine.
If you want to take this class, I STRONGLY recommend against it. Not only is she a horrible professor, but she also talks about nonsense quite literally half the class. There are 6 assignments you have to do and she doesn't grade things until last minute. Also god forbid you ask her a question, she'll avoid it like how you should avoid her class.

Lord have mercy taking this class was the worst mistake that I could not have had the option to make. Class Time is most of the time a huge hit or miss with her rambling for days on end on subjects unrelated to the necessary coursework. If you miss one assignment say goodbye to your grade because your failing regardless! :-)
If you want an easy A take this class, the assignments are doable and the final is easy. HOWEVER she's a terrible lecturer, she's incredibly pretentious and her lectures are just rambling. Professor Silva seems kind but be prepared to sit through the most unbearable lectures of your life and she won't grade anything until the end of the semester.
smells, does too much, doesnt grade, lies about everything, late to her own classes, smells, threatens to call the police if your phone vibrates, has elephantiasis, doesn't show favoritism (forced classmate to hug her and still gave him a 0).
sum2 consisted of her being tardy a majority of the time when she started class she talked about stories that had no correlation to the subject of government. This professor gives such long lectures about government most of the stuff which is not on the only test in her class, the final. She does NOT input grades until the very last day of the semester. She is an awful professor, Yaps about random stuff about her life and will not reply to emails requesting help or grade updates. DO NOT TAKE. WORST PROF.
Avoid this class if possible. Professor Silva seems disorganized and tends to get sidetracked during lectures. Using resources like unstuckstudy ai and the textbook may be crucial to survival. Not for the faint of heart!
If you are planning to take this class I would recommend avoiding her class if you can. She is by far the worst professor I've had. She likes to yap about non sense, and gets side track most of the time and half the time she doesn't even know what she's talking about. She doesn't lecture with powerpoint and she puts in grades LAST MINUTE.

Goes off on wild side tangents about nothing related to the class. Gives a condescending response any time you ask basic questions about assignments or the lecture. Seems really smart, but it just doesn't translate to her teaching. Super strict with grading. Was good at PoliSci until I took this class. Assignments are so random and almost unrelated
I knew I'd have to drop this class five weeks in when I realized my notes were barren and a midterm was in two weeks. She only lectured one day out of ten! The other classes were spent rambling about her life or watching a movie, both irrelevant to Texas Government. I didn't register for a class just to be told "you should already know this." NO!!!

She's not that bad, there's just an odor in the classroom that makes it hard to focus.
During Lectures do not waste time with heavy notes. Copy what you is needed and you can space out a bit. The class in of itself isn't hard since the in class reviews go over 99% of the test. There is a paper which will burn your second and third week of the class. But overall not the worst experience. A teacher that knows law not students minds
Got an A with just one assignment and one test, but the professor was a harsh grader and very rude to struggling students. She rarely teaches—just talks about her personal life for most of the class. Almost no way to recover if you fall behind.
