I actually took her for Children's Literature but can't remember its numbers. XD She's a great teacher. LOVES literature. She does have the look and sound of an elementary school teacher, though, so if that bothers you, you might not want to take her.

She's pretty good teacher, as long as you come to class and do all the work. The way she talks to her students does kindof make you feel like you're back in high school or jr. high, but if you can tolerate that, she's not bad. And if you stay on top of the work, which isnt all that difficult, you'll do fine.

Great teacher-this class was great! U need to go to class on a regular basis because she gives a grade on in class participation. She gives easy homework and easy tests.She is very helpful on understanding material. Gives you very interesting- broad range of short stories to read. We laughed alot in this class and i would love to have her again.

One of the best teachers I have ever have. She is awesome! She grades her essays throughly, but despite that her class is very easy. All you have to do is; write good essays, pay attention on review days, and utilize the time in the learning commons. Thats it.

Miss Ried's class was my favorite this semester. She has the patience of Job with her students. If you don't understand something, either ask her in class or go to her office. She was the only teacher I had this semester who seemed happy to see me when I showed up during her office hours.

Class was great! We had at least four weeks to write each essay and when I needed help I went to her office and was very helpful. Wish she taught 1102.

She is a nice teacher and pretty easy. She is interested in a student's success and willing to work with you if you need help. Before you leave class each day, she makes sure that everyone understands what is due for the next class. Incredibly nice lady, I highly reccomend her.

This teacher makes everything so easy to understand and gives lots of opportunity to write better. She is serious about learning and expects you to work hard. But don't miss class a lot and be late. She will withdraw you.

My favorite teacher at tcc and I have had her for two classes and will take her again next semester. If you show you want to learn and you work hard, she will be your best friend. She has high expectations for her classes.

Professor Reid is great! She's super helpful and nice! Three main essays, intresting topics. I took her for the summer so not much homework, only the essays and cornell notes. I highly reccomend her, even if you're not a good writer. Just don't miss her class, she will drop you. Anyways, she's great!

Very outgoing, well rounded professor. She's nice and will understand if need help. Her assignments were very easy and clear. She doesn't expect much in the other work, however essays need to be very clear and well written. I received a c and thought it was fair for the effort I put in. Would recommend this teacher if you like to write.

She is the perfect mix of business and pleasure. Has high expectations for her students but is so fair and class is almost always entertaining. My writing has improved a lot!

Professor teaches to the college student who trys their best and wants to learn. You will leave the class a better writer. The students who tried in the class could not stand the whiners in the class who Mrs. Reid still encourage even if they did not try at all.

I really recomend this teacher. She is easy to understand, easy to talk to, and offers good help. I got great at black board since she always post assignments and grades up and she even sends reminders about due assignments.

She is very straight and to the point. Her classes definitely requires some giving in order to pass. She is very helpful and does not put up with nonsense, but if you go in with good intentions you will receive what you need out of this class.

She was one of the best teachers I have ever had and was extremely helpful. If you ever had a question all you have to do is ask and she will help you however she can.

Taking Ms. Reid was a great choice. She's clear on instructions and always available for help. Lots of thinking activities to get you ready to write your essay. Extremely good teacher and friendly too.

Tough class and was nervous about taking it in the summer but the the professor walked us through each stage of learning new material and made it easier to write the papers. I was busy but earned an A. Definitely recommend.

Loved this teacher. She is very helpful and gives good feedback. She grades tough on the essays, mid-term, and Final. She uses the same textbook from ENC1101 for ENC1102 (just throwing that in there). Taking her ENC1102 class this coming up semester!

Clear instructions on assignments. The assignments were engaging, and the entire class tied together. Attendance is really necessary, but missing a class won't kill your chance at passing, just make sure you follow up with her and get notesassignments from the class you missed.

Class was sooooooo much better then my fist english class I took over summer. Miss Brenda is always only a email away even though I never meet her. I understood assignments and the number of writings was fine. Take this class!!

Professor creates a great class environment and listens to everyone's opinions. Very friendly atmosphere and not intimidating. We always were working on a writing assignment but she provides support and feedback at each step. Highly recommend.

Not an easy class but put in effort and use all of the resources and you will become a better writer. Don't get behind because this teacher has timelines for all assignments that are actually very helpful and so is she.

I worked hard this semester and was always emailing Miss Reid for help. She always got back to me fast. If I needed to talk to her I called. She is very helpful and encouraging. I feel I learned a lot more in this class about writing and how to use Canvas. Really good teacher overall.

Very easy class. I took it online over the summer (10 week course) You will have a quiz every week but it is online so you can use the book and notes. I only used the book about 4 times but you do need it. There is a timed writing assignment that counts as the mid- term, this you will do at a proctored site, but you can use a note card for notes.

All my classes are online and this is the best teacher yet. She responds to email immediately even in the evening. The assignments are easy to follow and have lots of documents to help you understand what you are supposed to do. You have to read and write alot. but it is argument. Fabulous teacher!

Ms. Reid presents a challenging and educational experience for you. You write three main papers with lots of time. You can keep up if you use good time management skills. I had this professor for two classes so definitely recommend her. .

The class and teacher are incredible. The class that gave me confidence to know I can succeed in college. Ms Brenda needs a raise for her patience in students not following instructions. She has hands on style that makes you listen in class and makes it easy to complete work on my own.

Amazing professor!! Took her online for ENC1102. She is very warm and willing to help you however she can. There are a few discussion boards, three papers, two timed writings in the testing center, and some grammar quizzes. Book is only needed for the timed writings. She grades fairly and always responds in a timely manner if you have any concerns.

My favorite english teacher I've had. She's super easy to work with, and she offers tutoring outside of class. Every assignment has clear criteria on what to do and how to do it.

I found this class coordinated and rigorous and helped me tremendously with my writing because the professor provides guidance and encouragement throughout. Five stars.

I love Brenda Reid as a professor, and I can tell she genuinely cares about her students success and learning. I do not believe attendance is mandatory, but I highly suggest it. I enjoy going to her class, even though English has never been my strong suit.

Mrs. Reid is the BEST teacher! She is super clear on EVERYTHING, gives you plenty of time to complete your work (not many assignments), and gives many reminders. She is very quick to respond and is willing to help students individually. If you have trouble she will make sure you are helped. So kind and caring too. Can't say enough good about her!

Professor Reid is quick to respond to emails. Essay criteria/format is clearly laid out, and she gives plenty of time to get it done. Group projects are peer reviews, but she gives you the format, so it's not as awkward when reviewing someone else's work. Every so often she would throw extra credit points for those who didn't procrastinate.

Professor Reid is very understanding and gives great feedback. She will help you improve your essays and grammar. As long as put in your best effort, you will be fine. Don't be afraid to ask her for help. Also extra credit is given if you're prompt. Group projects aren't bad because she's only grading you based on what you give not the others.

So glad I took this online class with Professor Reid. Her course is clear and easily managed. Never have I had this degree of personal attention and communication in an online course. I feel as if I know her and she knows me even though we have never met in person.

ENC1101 terrified me but Professor Reid literally walked me through the course patiently and patient with my peers. Class was challenging but explanations were clear and she never seemed to mind explaining two or three times with lots of examples. I will always remember her favorably.

The class was harder than I thought it would be but the topics were good and the professor was awesome moving us through the steps of writing. Recommended.

She gives really good feedbacks and gives chances to redo your paper. Also so understanding about situations like the time I was late for a meeting but she still allowed me to come in and get credit. Always accessible throughout the week. Don't take her kindness for granted though, do her class/homework and you'll pass.

Do: visit her office outside of class communicate when you struggle be ready to write papers go to class dont: skip class not communicate or finish assignments follow her instructions and she is the best prof you can have.

Shes super sweet and helpful. But she does give a lot of work. You will do a lot of work in just one week. Try not to miss class or get behind. The work is not hard its just a lot of work so it has a snowball affect if you miss one assignment.

Professor Reid is an amazing teacher. Your grade is based off of a few quizzes in the beginning and your essays. The quizzes are based off on a reading she gives you weekly. The essays are given with very clear instructions and she helps you in the writing process a lot. I would recommend this class she really cares about your grade & offers help.

Professor Reid was super interactive, approachable, and I feel like she genuinely adored her students. She was very responsive and actively listened to student concerns and questions. She's a very fair grader, but has no tolerance for late work. All in all, would recommend!

I hated ENC1102, but prof. Reid was very much different for ENC1102. She gave great feedback, and her essays were not the bad. The only bad thing I would have to say about her is some stuff was due at noon, and other stuff was due at midnight and that got a little annoying.

Professor Reid was great! Her canvas was easy to navigate and her instructions were very clear. The only problem is that she didn't give the greatest feedback in the file comments but she gives you the opportunity to reach out to her to talk about essays which is probably where you get most of your feedback. Other than that, I'd take her again!

Mrs. Reid is the best professor for an online class. She is involved and very responsive to student email. I never had to wait more than a couple of hours for a email response and was very clear in her advice. Take her!

She is very organized. Some points that usually could take a lot of time usually took a short amount of time with her because everything was well-structured. VERY kind. Answers questions through email quickly. If confused she will host a zoom meeting and record it for those who couldn't attend. Only frustrating thing is she ALWAYS gave due date extensions but those who finished on time were never rewarded for doing their work on time. So kind just very lenient. Great news if you tend to slack.
