Dr. S is extremely knowledgeable, clear, friendly and helpful. She actually is one of the best teachers at Valencia (in my opinion). I learned a lot and it was actually enjoyable going to class and lab! She has a nice sense of humor and explains things concisely and clearly. She even shows cool videos sometimes too! She's AWESOME!!!

Dr. Schumpert is extremely helpful!! If you're not biology major or don't know the basics of biology, i would recommend you to take intro to bio course first before taking this course, because this course is a bit challenging. But other than that, she's a great teacher, you just need to work hard and take advantage of her office hours!

she is a great teacher. the only thing is, the student must want to be in the class not just for the credits. I passed her class with an A. she goes over everything that is on the tests and is helpful if you ask. she can tell if you want to take the class or not, so if you dont really like biology, dont take her. other wise, she is a great teacher.

She is not easy at all, but i would say that she is a great teacher. Despite the fact that i felt her class, i found her helpful and i still going to register in her class next semester. I know my weakness, i just need to focus on the subject. She is the great teacher ever...

Her class was difficult. Even if you knew the material, you could get test questions wrong unless they were stated in her exact words. Visit her during office hours and she will help you. You'll need it!

This teacher is AMAZING! She may be difficult, but if you are going into a medical field, she's perfect! She expects you to be knowledgable and work hard, but is always there to help and answers any question and she does it thoroughly. If you aren't serious, don't take her. You'll waste not only your time but hers and other students'.

She tends to be grumpy some mornings but who isn't. Biology is tough but if you study/take notes/read the book the class is easy. I hadn't had Biology in 6yrs and got an A+. Use her office hours, she's very helpful and loves biology. I'll be taking her for BioII. Be honest, if you're complaining its because you didn't study, it's college people.

Dr. Schumpert is a very thorough and precise instructor. Although she does express herself with bluntness, she adheres to a structured, meticulous schedule (exactly what I expected out of a Core Biology professor. Dr. Schumpert explains the material in detail and requests that the student memorize for future endeavors. I favor her instruction.

SHE IS A REMARKABLE PROFESSOR!If you have a general interest in biology... or science for that matter, she's the one you'll want to take. She's extremely knowledgeable and very helpful if you ask. Her exams are directly FROM HER LECTURES. Take notes. She's brilliant.

Professor Schumpert is the best! My first exam I got an F, after that I always pass the others because I went to her office hours...which are extremely helpful. I would definitely recommend any1 who have to do BIOLOGY! Heep up the great work professor!

I took her for bio 1 and I am currently taking her for bio 2. She is a tough teacher no doubt about it. But the thing that helped me the most is attending her OFFICE HOURS! I know a lot of people have commented that she is mean and I agree can be at times but she is a completely different person out side of class during her office hours.

If you get on her good side, You're safe. Once she has a hate crush on you, you're done. She liked me but hated my friend. You have to work hard to earn a good grade. I love biology so its a little easy to me. She will yell at her class and isn't respectful. When you answer a question, she yell "NO!" if you're wrong, don't take it to personal.

If you want to know biology then I would take her. You need to go to her office hours to pass the class. Very strict on attendance. I got a B but only after working very hard for it. However if your a bio major there is no better teacher to have.

Im currently in my last week of her class.At first she can be mean so she weeds out all the lazy students.You will learn all you need to in this class,but you have to study!Only a couple multiple choice ?s in each test, mainly explaining vocab and methods.Make sure to be on time and attend every class,As with all classes.Office hours will help!

Heres the deal. Yes, she's hard. Well, harder than an "Easy A". The first week of class she scared the pants off of everyone in class, to weed out the lazies, but then she became totally chill and totally awesome. SHE KNOWS HER STUFF. Definitely the bio class to take if your wanting and willing to learn. Just be on time, listen and study.

She is very helpful during office hours, but if you ask her a question outside of her office be ready to schedule an appointment with your therapist .

here is how to pass this course, i just finished and got the highest score which I am proud of. DO NOT BE LATE. GO TO OFFICE HOURS BEFORE EVERY EXAM. PASS ALL EXAMS IN THE BEGINNING OF THE SEMESTER. ONLY STUDY WHAT SHE DISCUSS. DO NOT MISS LABS. SHOW HER THAT YOU ARE HARDWORKING. The first few classes she will be mean but after that she is so fun.

I took Bio 1010C just this fall semester and I gotta say, it's worth it to stay in her class! She might scare you at first but honestly doesn't every teacher do that? She is not scary. She is willing to help if you show her. Go to office hours, pay attention in class and have your book. Listen to her carefully.

Ignore these other comments, this teacher is awesome and really helped guide my career in Biology. Just don't take this class if your stupid and don't really want to learn Biology. She will fail you.

Dr. Schumpert is awesome. Definitely not the easiest professor, or course for that matter, but she grades fair and she makes the class interesting and fun. Pay attention and take good notes and you shouldn't have much trouble passing.

This is a bio course geared towards those of us who would like to go into the healthcare field. It is not easy and requires hard work and dedication.She is a wonderful prof.Show up on time and show her some effort and she is always willing to help you.I got an A in her class. This class is challenging. Attend all classes and labs. TAKE NOTES, ASK QUESTIONS and VISIT OFFICE HRS. Study the figures in the book. You can draw the figures on the test. Form a study group with different type of learners and make flashcards. Buy the book and keep it.She will have you write in it to help for studying b/c no study guide to use.

Very challenging class but its science, it's suppose to be that way. I learned a lot more in this class more than any others. Professor made the topics interesting with her teaching style. Will take her again if I need to for any other science class

Absolutely loved this teacher. One of the most helpful teachers I have had. She does expect to have the attention and respect of her students. Her passion for her subject was refreshing. Great teacher, you must attend class, pay attention, take notes!!!!!!!! Your test if from the notes. If she writes it in the board it's fair game for the test. Lab quizzes are 4-5 questions, easy. If you want to learn, this teacher is for you. You don't study, you don't pass!! Teacher will help you if you ask, and want to succeed. Group learn.

I loved this course. She was funny and fast paced but still clear and easy to understand. She will go above and beyond for her students when she can see that they are putting forth a effort and respecting her time. Be on time, attend class, take notes and go to her office hours for additional help and you will have no issues with this course.

At first I did not like this class. Professor Schumpert seemed very mean at first, but she was just laying down the ground rules. She is a very good teacher and really knows what she is talking about. We only have the final left and as of right now I have an A. Bio is going to be hard no matter what if you are lazy don't take her. you must study! A

Absolutely brilliant professor. Her class is a MUST for students entering healthcare fields. Not an easy A- well worth being in her class. She is NOT MEAN. She respects and cares very much for her students but she does expect respect. You MUST prepare for class. She will go above and beyond for her students. Valencia is lucky to have her.

Dr. Schumpert is a great professor. She is personally invested in the material that she teaches, and she wants her students to do well. The only students in my class that didn't like her were the complete slackers looking to make C's at best. She isn't very nice to the slackers but she's cool with people that at least make an effort.

One of the best professors I ever had. Kind of reserved at first, but serious about teaching health and science majors what they need to know. Be respectful, pay attention in class, prepare by reading material, and she will help you whenever you need. This is college- if you don't do good in a class, most likely it's on you, not the teacher.

Good teacher. wasn't sure about her at first but once semester gets going and things settle down it gets better. she is good at explaining things. she will help if you try to understand and make an effort to keep up. Good class

She is a good professor. By the last day only a couple people were left and grades were mixed, some A, B and C-students. None of us seemed to mind her even the Cs. Very good professor. Challenging but good. You can tell she really loves biology. She will go above and beyond to help if you want to learn. No study guides- you don't need one- you won't have someone holding your hand in your medical career- make the effort, read, pay attention in class, go to office hours. BIOLOGY is the most fundamental class and thus requires you to obtain the most accurate information from the most knowledgeable source. BIOLOGY is a difficult class!Taking the correct instructor is VERY important, so I will recommend her! take this class, keep ALL the notes, go to office hours, STUDY!, do not procrastinate, and follow directions!:)

Schumpert is a quality prof. However, she does not tolerate disrespectful behavior in the classroom,excessive tardiness, laziness, or childish excuses. My advice: come to class prepared and take good notes. Do not interrupt lecture with your own conversations or phone usage. It is a hard class, but your grade will reflect your effort.

She can get a little snappy. Rare for my class. Respect her, and she'll respect you. Great at explaining things, uses examples to connect to what she's teaching. There were 2 practicals,I believe 5 exams, and mini quizzes before each lab. Final exam not cumulative. Can definitely pass if you study just the notes and figures she gives from the book.

Tests all Fill in the blank. Pay attention in class. Ask questions when she asks any questions or when she is done speaking. Write everything she writes= essential for getting good grade. No homework in this class. Read the book. Office hours help a lot too. Class is super difficult. Teacher also not very nice. I Recommend a different teacher.
