She explains every step clearly and uses a lot of visual teaching methods. Very friendly and funny as well. One of the best.

What a wonderful teacher Brenda is! She is absolutely lovely, and listening to her go on about the subject at hand, and explain things is just a complete delight. She is very kind, helpful, and understanding. The class is online, but you're still required to show up, but from the one on one with her she seems a little lenient. Definitely 5 stars!

Great teacher , but she should keep her religious views to herself. She passed out her God explanation, and her church info out right before finals.

Although quite eccentric and gets a little too excited about the material sometimes, she's actually a good instructor, I highly recommend her if you have to take MATH 90. She's very understanding, always answers questions, and even reviews problems with you after quizzes and tests to help you understand the material. Recommended for sure!

She is the most patient teacher. She always smiles in class. Although I find her explanation can be confusing, but the material is easy. Webassign hws are a lot but not hard. Quizzes have no surprise. Final Exam is easy even though harder than quizzes. I really love Brenda !

All of the quizzes and tests are made by Brenda and are on paper, which makes it nice to get partial credit on problems. All of the homework is on Pearson mystatlab. She is very nice and super helpful. Her grading is fair and she does give chances to do a retake on one test. This teacher truly cares about her students.

She's awesome! Eccentric, enthusiastic, fair and thorough. I wish the class would move a little more slowly, but stats is kind of a fast ball no matter who you take it with. One of my favorite instructors at EdCC for sure!

The only math class I have ever received an A in! Ms. Tinning is friendly and willing to help if you are ever confused. She rounds the homework and extra credit percentages to 100% if they are 95% or higher. Additionally, she is generous with partial credit on the tests.

The class has to cover a lot of material, so by the nature of the course a lot is covered each day. She takes attendance at the beginning and after each break. She uses a LOT of handouts and works them out in each class. Do the homework! It will be the difference between maybe passing and getting an A! She's very good about responding to email fast

Brenda Tinning is a wonderful instructor. This course covers a lot of material and she goes through it quickly, so make sure you are paying attention and following along. She hands out notes for each chapter and you fill in the blanks. It's super easy and helpful, just do the homework. She really cares about the students and is very nice/friendly.

Brenda is an amazing instructor! I'm not the best at math but she is awesome at explaining concepts while staying humorous and entertaining. She is a quick grader and always encourages students to email her if they are stuck on a problem. Homework is all online. We had three tests, five quizzes, and a cumulative final. Highly, highly recommended!

My grade is not that good at Statistic class because I cant really follow cause stats is really challenging for me but Im really giving my thumbs up to this teacher because she is absolutely kind and care with me, she always care and try to give extra credits to make the student pass the class and she also teach really well in class��

It was a very well prepared class. The professor showed proceeded to the lesson by showing examples and showed what kind of calculator's formula needed. She always answered students' questions, and e-mail responses were very quick. If you master the homework and example problems from the professor, you can get good grades in this class.

She really supports her students so don't be afraid to ask for help or talk to her. Take her if you struggle with math!

I love her so much that if she teaches higher Stats classes, I will take them all. She is really funny, lovely, and nice. However, a lot of homework is ahead, so be ready for it. Besides Stats stuff, she is a thoughtful prof whom you want to consult.

One of the best math professors. I thought that I wouldn't do good in this class because I haven't taken a math class in so long but if you come everyday an keep up with the class you'll be fine. She answers all your questions and helps you comprehend the material. There is a quiz about every other week, total of 5 quizzes. Fast and easy grader.

I love her class so much. She takes care of all the students. The first few days in class were a little bit confusing cause the lecture was too hard to understand clearly, so you would be disappointed a little bit. As long as you can go, the paper slides were clearly, just follow that and do homework, I got 4.0 easy. A lot of extra credits.

She was fun and helpful and her test are not to stressful because she always gives a detailed study guide. The homework load is average but she easy to complete because her lectures are amazing. I love Brenda so much. Math isn't my favorite but the way she teaches made Stats so so so easy for me to understand. She is extremely nice and wants you to excel. I had an evening class with her but she was always super energetic at every class meeting, it really helped make it more enjoyable and raised my attention and interest levels. Take her!

This is an independent class, so you are responsible for how you prepare and study. If you practice a lot you will be successfu on the exams. This class can vary in the future as this was taken during the Covid-19 pandemic. Lots of homework but straightforward, 1-2 quizzes a week. Extra Credit for taking the exam early too! Pretty straightforward.

Easy, independent learning. Watch lecture videos and have powerpoint slides to look at. Hw, quizzes, and exams are on mystatlab. You can retake quizzes up to 3 times. ALL the questions from the real exam come from the practice exam hw. As long as you do that practice exam hw and study that then you are good. Finished this class 3 weeks early!

Thankfully we were able to use stat crunch for everything otherwise this class would be a bit more difficult. Basically an easy A class. Definitely recommend everyone to take her as your professor.

Independent stat class. There are two major tests that are each worth 25% of your grade, but as long as you do all the assignments and watch the lectures she provides, you'll for sure get a 4.0 grade (above 95%). I'm not a math person at all and haven't taken math since Algebra 2 in high school but I was able to get 99%.

Brenda is a great professor i really enjoyed her class she gave me from her time to work on the homework, she is defiantly one of the best professors i ever had at Edmonds college. I highly recommend taking her class, she is very caring about students

It was online class and graded automatically by computer. Professor was very nice but the class was so time consuming and difficult.

Professor Tinning was great overall. The class was self taught with video modules/ slides, and quizzes were pulled from homework. Material itself was easy to learn, and mainly involved learning vocab/ inputting numbers into online calc known as Statcrunch. Class had two proctored exams. All questions were pulled off of previous review assignments.

This is a more self-paced class, with homework every day and one to three quizzes per week. Get ready to read and watch videos. There are also two tests, both on honor lock. However, the teacher is very friendly and fast at responding to your emails.

I can not speak highly enough of this teacher! I had attempted to take Statistics once before and didn't make it past the first week. Mrs. Tinning is a spectacular teacher with extensive knowledge and extreme patience. She made Statistics enjoyable and I would without a doubt take her class all over again. If available TAKE HER CLASS!! THANK YOU!!

Brenda's class was mostly structured around Pearson's mystatlab, which were all the homework, quizzes, and tests were. Though, her lectures and homework are in canvas which are very helpful because if you are ever stuck, there are homework help videos. Brenda also replied back to us very quickly as well when we have concerns. Overall, it was great.

Professor is very good at communicating. She puts out announcements and reminders frequently. Class was very easy. There is no final but 2 tests. Quite long ones but if you do the study guide you will be fine. Statcrunch is used, confusing at first but you will get the hang of it quickly. Good lectures too and handouts for additional studying.

I recommend taking Brenda's course! She is very organized, provides quality material and lectures, and has great communication! In addition, she was very supportive of my learning goals. I recommend learning Statcrunch from the beginning and printing/saving homework assignments and studying them because it will be helpful on quizzes and tests.

Ms.Tinning was very responsive when I reached out for help and would offer resources for clarification. There were things that came up during the quarter such as illness & websites being down & she was very understanding & accommodating. Yes there is quite a bit of homework however that is made very clear in the beginning of the class.

I am so grateful that professor's class has helped me get rid of my fear of math. The professor's classes were very helpful to me. She had clear grading criteria. Professor showed students how to use the calculator directly using the screen in front of the classroom. I frequently visited her office hours, and she really cares every student!

the attendance wan't mandatory even though it was a hybrid class I did everything online, you can choose if you want to come to the lectures or not. It took me 13-15 hours a week to work on everything. Brenda responds to emails quickly and is willing to help you showing respect and understanding. Brenda is a great instuctor!

She was one of the best professors I have ever had. While the assignments are not necessarily difficult, the do take about an hour or more to complete, and there are assignments due every day of the week, except Saturday. These assignments are time consuming, but it is relatively easy to do well on them, as you get multiple chances at each problem.

This class is very exhausting and moves too fast. They expect you to learn a whole chapter in a week, and there is homework six days a week. There is also one quiz every week. The professor is very nice, but her lectures feel like a waste of time because she goes through the material too quickly for you to understand the material. Very tedious.

I took her Math 97 class in my first quarter at Edmonds and she was so caring about my grades when I was failing. I am taking her math 146 for my last quarter at Edmonds and she is the best!!! love you Brenda Tinning!

She is amazing. I got a bad grade because I was not doing what I was supposed to do. It was my fault that I did not get an A. She is so caring, and I must say communication is the key. Do not hesitate to reach her with any concerns. I would take her any class any day.

Brenda's a caring, educated, high energy teacher. Math 146 was a simple and moderately difficult course (10hr/week). Included well-explained online homework assignments and quizzes that both allowed 3 attempts each, and 2 online proctored exams with problems nearly identical to the ones found in the study guides. The grading criteria is very clear.

Brenda is amazing, super caring and friendly. She one of the best teachers I've honestly ever had, take MATH 146 with her. The class is hybrid but all material is online. You get pretty 3 tries on the homework and quizzes, and the proctored test questions are all gotten from a practice homework assignment that she'll give you.

I love Tinning! She's so kind and very understanding. She does give a lot of homework but it really helps with understanding the content and if you don't do it you will struggle. I asked her a couple of times to give me full credit on a quiz question and she did. She's very helpful and will email you back quickly through canvas. Lots of studying.

Prof wants you to pass! If you score below 75% on a quiz, she has you retake it and if you're close, she'll let you redo a couple questions in class to boost your grade. You can retake one test per quarter, and she gives tons of late passes (even more if you ask). I truly wish she taught every math class she's the best teacher I've ever had!
