very arrogant,argumentative, and semi-organized...we bought textbooks for nothing, and her sarcasm takes away from a good classroom ambiance.

(Interpersonal Communication) - Can easily earn A by following directions for assignments. Material was not very challenging. Open notes final exam. Professor is ultra-conservative, clear, fair, but often overbearing. Goes off on tangeants and rants. Can be entertaining to watch, though.

Give her a break. Yes she can be over bearing...yes she will argue you down to mothing, and YES she has a serious chip on her shoulder.I was the only white person in her class and she made it a point to talk about racism over and over. Just let her talk about herself all class, it passes time.

She IS very arrogant. I know it's been said a million times, and she doesn't need a break.... Im not about teachers that waste my time.... She is easy in her grading, but I have all A's, and I don't mind earning them if it means Im going to learn something.

She wears some serious 1980's suits with shoulder pads and has some tidal wave hair... and she thinks women can't do manual labor..... oh and she believes that homesexuality is evil , and interracial relationships aren't natural.... I know all this and I've never asked the women a question about herself in my life... she likes to share!!!!

She starts off with a chip on her shoulder, but she is really a good teacher. It doesn't matter how people feel about her. There is not one person who came out of her class that is not a bettter speaker. When I started I couldn't speak in front of anyone, but after her class I learned to bear through it. She is actually a good teacher.

Everyone knows she needs to update her fashion, she is arrogant however, she can back all that up. She knows her stuff and she is well educated. she really loves to help her students have high expectations and to do well in her class. She is a very sweet lady and her class is easy. You do learn and she does help you in your fears with speeches. Giv

For an hour and thirty minutes of her just talking may be fine for some and not at all for others. Her class becomes a little party. A different type of learning. It may work for me, but for others I bet it won't.

The class is easy but the professor make you feel uncomfortable,she is very arrogant,if she was all that she said she was why is she teaching at a community college instead of a univeristy,if you really plan to major in speech and you take speech seriouly i would recommend that you find another professor,all this professor do is talk about herself.

Well seeing as I just finished her 1311 class last Monday, I didn't think she was too bad. I came to respect her through the semester, though the class itself I didn't really like. I never liked speech, but other than that, she's a good teacher, and you'll learn some from her. If you don't like strict then you might want someone else.

When I first entered her class my immediate thoughts were, "She is stickler". But as time progressed it became obvious of her compassion for her students by lecturing beyond what the course requirements. If you want to strive for better allow her to do what she is there to do, then you will find her class is SIMPLE.

I am halfway into Dr. Washington's Business and Professional Speaking Course, and the class is certainly interesting. The material is NOT hard, however, the class is truly time-consuming. Four medium-large projects per semester, and if you take the course seriously, it is an "easy A". Please don't take this course if you can't afford the time.

She is a good professor, but she won't let you sleep through the class. Lectures extensively, but is very generous on grading. If you show up and do what she asks you will get an A for sure.

within the first couple of weeks a chunk of people dropped. She talks about herself forever. She grades the speeches harshly. And ends up giving us long speeches every class that are completely off topic. The whole class was so annoyed by the pressure the work gave us. Although the maury-type arguments that ended up in class were entertaining...

This professor seems strict and even picky. However, her inside is really kind. There're many interesting discussions in her class, which I like a lot. I took her speech 1342 and like it. Dr Washington is full of herself, but that hardly is relevant to the class. The problem is that her assignments are crazy and she stresses the students out a whole lot and expects them to know more than the average undergrad would know. Do not take this class if you want an easy going teacher or speech is not your thing.

I read everyone comments and in everyone most of it was true. But she is not as bad as they say she is. Everyone have 2 follow rules. If you dont learn in her class it's cause you dont want 2. Keep your eye on the prize focus on you not her and you will be okay. She really is a blessing.

Dr Washington is heaven sent. She is extremely helpful and passionate about teaching. I am thinking of taking her for another class.

I made a easy A+ nice person. Work with you just come to class. She seem hard and love to give advice.

She is very selfcentered and lovessss to go off topic. She might seem hard at first and has very corny jokes... but it's pretty much an easy A if you dont...DO NOT talk back to her and get into an argument with her even if you're right. Good luck.

If you can get past the self-centered, arrogance, she is a great instructor. BUT she detracts from her acheivements due to her lack of humility. She is not at all humble. If you have a problem, tell the dean. She will not listen to anything you say. STUDENT BEWARE!!!!!

she admits likes to talk but it is a spch class,ask quest. she will answer,dont assume anything communicate!u learn the moment you walk in.her to her teaching style:immed. interaction,she tests ur abilities subtley but from day one.she's late,but fair.healthy self-esteem,accomplished,sets boundaries,is logical. 3 assignments, 1 final that's it.

Took the class summer session 1. I admit I was worried at first after attending class and reading all of the posts regarding Dr Washington regarding talking about herself etc. She also is there to help and encourage. There were people in our class that did not like to speak in public and she was a great motivator for them.

Most of the class is spent talking about her life but I don't mind because her life is so inspirational. She shows us how to handle trivial things and how to become a better person. I may not have learned a bunch of pointless definitions but I did learn about self worth. She is hilarious and I would take her again in a heartbeat.

She is nice but if ya talk in class or cheat in a test then you'll have a problem. If you know you are a good speaker, meaning you can speak clearly then you'll do fine in her class. The finals included a part a & b (to choose)and extra credit section with the word list on the back.

Lord can this lady spent the entire class off subject. the class is easy she just like to talk&talk&talk. Leave when class is over dont try to stay she will keep you pass the hour so just walk up and leave!

This professor is easy. She gives extra credit and she's very open minded. If you have problems she'll listen and help you. She actually cares. She does talk off subject sometimes but that's better than listening to a boring lecture. I say take her class

Easy A I swear. We had 3 grades a team speech a group project and a final exam. The final is OPEN BOOK. Very easy class even though she talks about things other than speech

Ms.washington did talk a bit to much about random things happening in her life but she would also talk about the material. They where practically life examples. Test where super easy (no need to stress on studying) but do need to pay attention(to stay on her good side). We had group projects and individual ones but very flexible in choices.

Dr Washington Prepares you for LIFE. I am currently doing her public speaking class and I have learnt alot more than I ever thought I would. I looked at a number of comments where she talks about her personal life, yes this may be true but its great when you listen and take in what she says to better YOUR LIFE! SHE HAS BEEN THERE BEFORE!

Amazing professor. Challenges you and gives you all the materials you need to do well. She's very approachable and gives a good feedback. The individual and Group presentations prepare you to be a good public speaker. Open book finals with lots of time and options to choose from. Work a little bit extra and you'll earn an A

What can I say? Love - hate relationship. I miss her class. As long as you do your work, you will get an A.

I absolutely enjoyed Dr. Washington's class. She is firm, both attendance and participation are mandatory. Go to class, do what is expected, if you are careful you just might learn something.

Great professor. Might got some little attitude to remind that we all adults in the class. If you the kind of person who likes to play the victim and every random thing offends you, DONT TAKE HER. You better be a victim with a other professor. 3 speech informative, elevator pitch and class project (panel disc. or else) 1 HM/week. Written final.

This Professor was Awesome! She came off a little strong and hard at first but later onto the year she becomes more nicer and gives a lot of opportunity for extra credit. She has clears grading rubric and is very nice. She is a good professor and I would recommend taking her for sure. But get ready to read!!!
