Professor Platt is the wrong guy to take Econ 382 from. He knows the material very well, and is very smart, but he likes to show it. his hw's are ridiculous and doesn't really care about his students learning, he just cares about getting through the material.

Prof. Platt likes to teach. He's a theorist, so I think he likes to make the class more intense than it needs to be. Given that he's new, I can allow some slack, but the material wasn't taught too clearly. I love micro, especially the topics in 382, I wish I understood them better than I do now.

Dr. Platt really loves the topic, and I think he presents it well. It's evident that he is new, but there's no way around that one. The only problem I really noticed with him was that his tests were ridiculously long! Get a good TA and plan on many hours in the ECON lab (and testing center) and you'll do fine.

Whew, 382 was a doozy from Platt. His TA's were good and I spent alot of time in the lab. He is also pretty good at making himself available to talk to his students. Apparently he is more of a theorist so this may not be the best teacher to take, unless you plan on doing an Econ PH.D. Tough class. Long tests. Teacher is a cool guy though.

Dr. Platt is awesome. He knows what he's talking about, and teaches with patience. He gives multiple examples for every kind of principle, and uploads all his past test for the students to study. But it's not an easy class. The tests count for 80% of your grade, so if you mess up there, there's little to no chance of recovery. Study hard for tests.
