Great proessor, very dedicated to his job. Alot of papers and a thorough grader. Tests are hard, but material is covered very well. Would take this professor again very helpful, is there if you need help with course work. You must attend classes.

Very nice guy. Passionate about what he teaches and keeps your attention. But be prepared to put a lot of work into this class-tests, quizzes, weekly papers, and a term paper. Highly recommended. And he's really cute!

His class is a lot of work, but everything he has the students do has a purpose and I found it quite helpful. He sends out assessments for each test and if you study it, you'll do very well. I second the hot comment! Smart and cute, a great combo!

The material of the class can be a bit boring but he keeps you laughing, real down to earth there is a lot of work to do but it is smaller shorter assignments so its really not that bad and it makes it easier to get a better grade has the worst handwriting i have ever seen in a person over the age of 5 so sit close to the front

Does come off as a hard***, but he is a good guy. Seems to like his job. He teaches, doesn't just help you memorize. The papers are a ***** but they keep you on track in the class with the material. Handwriting atrocious. Does he do it on purpose for effect? I like notes, I wish he would give us some. Takes time out of listening to do your own.

I truly worked my butt off in this class, did every single assignment on time and got MAX points for each. I got a grade in the upper 70's on ONE test and he refused me an A, that hurts, would of had a 4.0 GPA for the semester. He is a real ball-breaker! Costleigh, good looks and humor can only get you so far...have a little humanity.

The people who complain about the class being hard just do not want to study. He explains everything CLEAR AS DAY at the MANDATORY information session (which 1/2 my class didn't attend). The tests are OPEN BOOK! I don't know how you can fail, people! PULL IT TOGETHER! He's a good teacher, and the more you put into it the more you will get out of it

Good teacher, seems like he really enjoys teaching, def. a pain with grading however. Do NOT miss a test unless you spent the night in the hospital and come in the next class with a doctors note! Geez. Very delicious though...and mildly distracting :).

You could really tell he liked Psychology!He always had a lot of extra info. to tell us. He was hard and strict about stuff but I could tell he really did care about how I did in the class. He responds to e-mails really quickly and even on weekends which I thought was cool. I would definately take him again.

This teacher was the MAN! He's such a good professor and makes the class interesting. Basically gives you a website to study off of and then the EXACT questions are on the test.. i got 106 on all the exams (extra credit is always available with him).. TAKE HIM!!!

Prof. Costleigh is an all around great professor! He is extremely clear in every lecture, and he gets straight to the point. He gives a lot of extra credit for tests, and he is always willing to help. His work is easy, and the tests are fair. I would highly reccomend him to anyone. It's almost impossible to fail his class.

Brent is a very intelligent and captivating professor. He uses power points to display notes we should take and you can also view these power points on the Brookdale Angel site. I would love to be in this professors class again and highly recommend him.

Sets the stage for success- syllabus spells out what you need to do to get a good grade. Is always available for questions whether through office hours or via email. You can tell this professor enjoys what he does and generally cares about students success.

I love this guy. I love the way he teaches and speaks to us. I don't know what would compel anyone to go as far as calling him boring and the worst teacher. I prefer him actually. Speaking as a psych major, he's an ideal teacher.

I will be taking him for experimental methods at rutgers next term. he makes it impossible to fail. he gives SO MUCH EXTRA CREDIT. his lectures are boring but stats is boring, he tries to make it interesting,and is a funny guy. only thing is he uses complicated words

I've had Brent for several classes. He teaches at a Rutgers level, as he should. His syllabi are so clear and detailed, as are his powerpoints- which he gives you for the exams. He encourages attendance by giving extra credit quizzes. You can get up to 25 points on a midterm!! Material can be boring, but he is a great guy!!!

Super straight-foward and well-organized dude. Easy on the eyes. Very professional and gives great examples. Extremely fair grader.

If you read the chapters assigned and do the assignments, there is no way you can fail this class. Not to mention, he gives so many extra credit oppurtunities. Go to class and make sure you pay attention to the self assesments before exams and there is no way you can fail. He's definentally an awesome teacher and he WANTS you to pass his class.

Professor Costleigh is an a great professor. He offers every oppurtunity to pass his class. One thing is he talks in his lectures like hes in a room of doctors so his lectures can be somewhat difficult to follow. All his lectures are available on ANGEl along with the study guides for his exams.

He genuinely cares about his students,answers emails promptly and made a difficult subject easy to understand. He gives you plenty of extra credit but you MUST come to every class and not miss a minute. His lectures can be upper level but you can ask him anytime to break it down for you. Make sure you have the book!!! You will use IT!!!

Prof. Costleigh is great. Passionate about the material. Not afraid to veer off from the basics to talk about applications of material. Great teaching approach. He says at the end, I just hope I got you to think about things differently. You did, prof. To do well, do the practice tests and show up so you can take the extra credit quizzes.

I thought he was an excellent professor. The class itself was hard but you can ask him to clarify at anytime. It's true about him talking like he's in a room full of doctors. He give tons of extra credit. You must do the hw and go to every single class but he is extremely helpful and lectures are not at all boring !!

I took his online class. Extremely organized. Transparent grading with a clear rubric. Thoughtful discussion topics. Timely grades. Overall, he's a very good teacher, and the feedback he posted along with grades was helpful and showed clearly that he was engaged and paying attention (which is especially important in an online class).

I took this as a 6 week summer course. The professor was very clear in his expectations of his students. The syllabus was very clear, as were the assignments. Prof. Costleigh provided very constructive feedback on discussion postings. Take the material seriously and work hard - you will not do well in this class otherwise!

He's tough. There is a quiz at the beginning of every class based off the reading for that class lesson. The quizzes are used purely as extra credit. You'll want that buffer. His lectures are in depth, but he is passionate about what he teaches. You may hate the subject, but you find yourself respecting him. If you do the work, you WILL PASS.

AMAZING. He is passionate and enthusiastic about the sub. He expects a lot of students but I can honestly say that he is one of the only professors that I have learned from. He gives quizzes each week (5pt ea.) and the quizzes act as extra credit on your finalmid term. You have to workgo to class but well worth it. TAKE HIM, you wont regret it.

Very involved tests, attending every lecture is crucial. It's easy to get lost in the material as the class progresses. Be sure to read the chapters inside and out. Do homework problems at end of chapter. His tests are no joke.

Prof Costleigh was awesome, probably one of the funniest teachers I have ever had, He does what he can to make sure you have the tools to do well but it is really up to you. TEST ARE NO JOKE but he offers extra credit in the form of quizzes on the chapter. Would take him again.

I LOVE BRENT! I took him twice and I wish I could take him again. I took him both for online classes. he responds to every email and answers any questions you have. he also grades your work very fast. take him, you will love him!

Great teacher. Answers any questions you may have with no problems. He gives sufficient extra credit in the form of quizzes which significantly helps with the exams given considering the difficulty of the class. If you go to class, take at least decent notes, and study from the text book, you will get at least a B.

Conducts interesting lectures in class for about an hour. The rest of the work is online and fairly self explanatory. Great sense of humor & made class enjoyable. Generous with extra credit!

Professor Costleigh was great. I took this PSYC class online and it is my second time taking him. The person who commented below me must just expect to get an A for doing nothing... There are 2 papers you need to write, and the topics are interesting. (4 pages) There are weekly discussion forms and weekly quizzes. 2 exams. He is the best! Thanks!

Costleigh is great! he's really funny. Very into psychology. all of his exams are online, at the end of the semester for your final he gives you a choice between taking an exam in class or writing a paper.

Took the online class. Had weekly quiz and writing assignment which was easy enough if you read the textbook. Midterm and final were as expected if you studied the text and study guide. You won't pass if you don't participate in the weekly discussions, which can be tedious. Overall, clear expectations and would take another class with him.

Professor Costleigh is an amazing professor. His class is a hybrid, you come in for a somewhat heavy (1 hour lecture) and the rest is all on you. The other half of the class was reading your textbook and being quizzed/ submitting discussion forums. Related everything to real life examples for a better understanding,

Smartest person I have ever met in my entire life, great professor just a difficult class. The class itself is extremely difficult even if you took stats before this, but I did pass with a C. he gives you 2 exams, a presentation, and a research paper along with labs and mini proposals. He's a great professor. Gives you chance after chance for extra credit and is about quality over quantity. If he sees you putting in the time and work then he'll help you as much as he can. The class is tough but it's the material and not because he makes it hard. Given you have to take this course, I'd recommend this professor.

Participation really matters in his discussion forums but I found that it really helped in the long run. He really does care about his students but you sure do have to try and get ready to read, lol. Taking him again this semester!

I took his online class, it was easy just had to read the chapter every week, take a quiz of 10 questions and do a discussion question. We only had TWO test midterm (100 questions) and final (200 question). I recommend him best PSYC teacher . Clear grading and caring that you pass the class.

Brent is a really cool professor. I was nervous about taking an online psych class, but this class was so easy. You get a full week to take a 5 question test and do a discussion post. As long as you actually do the work and know how to cite in APA i can't imagine how you would get anything less than an A. would definitely recommend him.

I took Prof. Costeligh this past semester online. He is a good grader and the quizzes were very easy. He also offers extra credit! make sure you take advantage of that. I am taking him again next semester online.

Prof. Costleigh is a great professor; he gives great lectures, makes his expectations and grading rubric clear, and is accessible outside of class time. This class got me to love Psychology. Professor Costleigh ALWAYS gave feedback on everything he graded, what you did right and what you can improve on. The discussion post mean EVERYTHING in this class so always do them and comment on them, and find outside sources. He cares about you not memorizing the work but applying to real life.

Solid choice, lectures for only 75 minutes can get rather heavy and intense so be ready to take a lot of notes. Don't be fooled by exams and quizzes being open book, they are not as easy as you would think and they required hours of studying. Gives good feedback on weekly discussions and wants you to be engaged and understand the material.

I would 100% recommend taking prof Costleigh. As long as you read the material in the book and follow the criteria for the discussion posts, you will pass this class with a high grade.

I had this class in Fall 2022. He is the best professor. You take notes in class, do online quizzes/exams (no lockdown browser), and do discussions on canvas about what you learned in class using the textbook and notes. I didn't show up to class for 2 months. He doesn't grade attendance. Finals: 10-page essay (lets you know in advance) or an exam.

I really enjoyed learning from Professor Costleigh. He is knowledgeable and passionate about Psychology, which shows in his lectures. The overall structure of the class was straightforward and easy to navigate. Take his classes if you have a genuine interest in psychology and want to learn about it.

Was very respectful and cool. Online discussion forms were Mandatory that would count as your attendance. He always gave feedback on my Discussion forms and pointed out when it was great and or bad. You can tell he cares about what he teaches and hopes you do too.

I loved this professor! He was super cool had him in person and was super sensible, was a bit funny too. If you couldn't make your payed for class lecture he advises you to come in a different day he has his lectures, not mandatory but notes are important!! hw every week (aside from test weeks) but it's pretty simple: 5 question quiz u can retake over and over, 10 question quiz but also very simple and a short discussion forum. the tests are online, no lockdown, 50q's 50 mins. final is a 100 exam test or literature review paper (your choice), overall he was nice & funny, i'd take him again

His class was easy to understand. Some powerpoints do not include all of the information, I recommend using the powerpoints as outlines for reading the textbook. Discussion posts mean everything, there's about one a week and they're only graded out of 6 possible points. One midterm, one final, one literature review. Every week there's a timed quiz

I took his hybrid class this semester, and I loved it! The work is easy: just read the chapters or find them online. He is straightforward to talk to and always willing to help. He is also funny and makes his lectures interesting. I would definitely recommend him for PSYCH105 :)

I really enjoyed this online course, interesting material with easy quizzes. The midterm and final were extremely long but possible to do well. Discussion forums are almost impossible to get an A on and really hurt your grade if you don't do well. Quizzes are rushed with only 4-5 min to complete.

Professor Brent's PSY105 class is no walk in the park, but if you put in the work, it can be a rewarding experience. The lectures are dense, but engaging. Utilize resources like unstuck ai alongside the textbook to ace the quizzes and exams.

he is a great man himself he was nice enough to just pass me so love him for that but he definitely is heavy on talking a lot and is very strict on grading I got bad grades on work that had a simple mistake and graded it very low

I was fully online, so unfortunately I never met him. The class was extremely easy and straightforward as long as you just do your work. Participate in the discussions, do assignments and take quizzes/ exams. If read the information, it's easy. I had an issue that could've really affected my grade. He was understanding and helpful. 100% recommend.

My first semester at Bdale. Psych 105. Great professor. Kind, organized, straightforward. Each week he lectures then our homework is a 10 question multiple choice quiz on that lecture/chapter. There are only 2 bigger tests, and 1 essay at the end. My advice is get a physical textbook to have for quiz's and test and you will do just fine.

Very easy, just take notes on the lecture, easy hw assignments, and really chill and laid back guy.
