Dr. Duckor has a passion for making assessment fair for students and useful and relevant for students and teachers alike. It's a demanding class (lots of work & high standards), but well worth the effort. You'll learn to use testing to help your students learn more, and Dr. Duckor is incredibly generous with his knowledge, time and encouragement.

The content was pretty interesting and relevant. Duckor will say that the heavy workload isn't bad b/c he gives you extra time to complete it, but this just resulted in many students having 3 big papers to write at the end of the semester. I think Dr. D's style demeanor and style can be misunderstood. He can come as being too intense but he's a great teacher focused on building 21st century skills and things we can take into our future classrooms. Like the learner map we do, TOS I have shown that off to admin and other teachers and hoping it can lead me to job soon!

Dr. D may seem, at first glance an intense educator who doesn’t pull any punches. But if you give him a chance, you will find out he is also one of the most supportive and dedicated instructors you will ever meet. When he says he is available 24/7, he means it. His EDSC 182 class is a must to help begin effectively assessing student learning.

I've had many professors over the years. Dr D. is the first one to stay after class, or field a call late at night. He puts the students first, and wants us to succeed. At the same time, he keeps standards high (but allows revision). I'm thankful he gave me extensions based on unique circumstances this semester. That helped me to finish my PACT.
