Pretty interesting class--he uses a lot of media stuff that makes the class interesting, especially 9am during winter.

Very nice teacher. Keeps the class informed on up coming test and homework. Breaks up lecture with short films and clips. Makes class very interesting. Will be signing up for more of his classes.

This class was very interesting and the assignments are pretty easy. My only complaint would be the lack of interacting with the online students. There really wasn't any feedback on assignments. Other than that, I really enjoyed this class!

Work is easy, class is pretty interesting, but can get boring if the prof is talking for more than 5 minutes. Other than that, you're gonna watch videos that WILL make the class super awkward, but there's plenty of funny vids to offset the awkwardness.

Very interesting class. He's knowledgeable and uses a lot of examples from outside the book (which was pretty easy to read though). Some of the material is pretty dark/weird and he's fairly soft-spoken so I would sit closer to the front to hear. The best is that he uses tons of media (photos and vidoes, etc) to make points. Tests are fair.

[WEB] - Great professor and great class. He provides really good study material for the exams, so if you study and do your work, you will be just fine. You may even accidentally learn something. I highly recommend this professor.

I took the online class and did fairly well. He gives you a workbook with questions to study for quizzes and tests.. only 2 tests all quarter but a weekly quiz and DB. There are a few short answer quizzes but you can use the workbook. Textbooks are required. Read and watch videos and it's a fairly easy class. Recommend

I took the Social Problems course online. Although I got a B (i'm an A student), I thought the course was really good. Things were laid out clearly and I knew what was expected of me. He is also helpful if you don't understand something. Be warned though you do need to read the textbook carefully for the exams. Recommended

Took online class. He was very responsive when asked questions and really helps out when you go to office hours. The course is really laid out nicely I would recommend this class to others.

Had him this summer for 101. Very cool, interesting professor that uses a lot of exampels from the "real world" that open your eyes to interesting issues. Some of the people in the class were annoying/immature (NOT his fault obviously) so i might take one of his online sections instead.

Extremely knowledgeable about his subject. In depth notes, with pop-culture references to support the information. Easy to talk to, will answer any questions you have. I took him for deviance and criminology and received an A in both courses, but had to work for it. He's my favorite professor by far

Professor B was extremely knowledgeable in just about anything there is to know out there!! One smart dude. He has great stories and shows funny videos. Prompt with emails and a real nice guy. Learned a lot. Only lectures and quizzes, I wish there was a little more to do other than that, but overall I enjoyed the class and recommend him for sure.

EXCELLENT professor! u WILL have to study for his class (i took soc 101) but everything is straight forward. He makes his class "fail-proof" meaning that w.e. u do, u will not fail.. always helps u out, tells u how to study, gives clues.. Excellent instructor. Could not have asked for better.

Very interesting class and truly good instructor. However, those looking to "coast" or not study will probably NOT pass. His exams are tough and require knowing materials from the book and knowing them well. This isnt typical intro course where you can a good grade with just the lecture notes. Recommended only for serious students.

Great class! Very good prof with lots of funny/interesting examples that help you relate to the material. Make sure you STUDY for his exams and they are nt Bad. The only thing is that the class was only 45 minutes each meeting so there wasn't any time for discussions.

Easiest teacher I've had. Attendance is pretty optional, though he uses examples in his lectures that will show up on the exams so as long as you sit there and pay attention it's an easy A. Quizzes are open book on blackboard, and he's a funny, personable guy. You won't regret it.

I thought he was great. Others have noted a monotone voice but I don't think it detracted from the class much at all. He goes out of his way to find and utilize interesting global examples from far outside the textbook. He opened my eyes to a lot of issues that I hadn't thought about much before his class.

Very smart and articulate but can be a bit abstract at times. However, he uses a lot of examples from various fields of study and popular culture. Tests are ok and he's helpful with questions.

I took his class online and it was pretty easy. I just had an assignment due every Sunday by midnight and then exams at CSCC. The only thing I didnt like was that we didn't get study guides to print off and study.

Good prof, really wants students to succeed and has great examples from the real world. He will also talk with you at length about books, research, etc. if you want to read more than the textbook (which you do need)

Very intersting class. Not too bad on tests and other assignments. Lots of media examples and stories in every class kept things from being boring.

Went in not really expecting to like it but he makes it interesting. There are examples from all kinds of places that connect with you. His voice is a bit flat but he does a good job and I would say take this class. book was also ok.

Good teacher, always responded to all my emails and concerns. His online assignments were all easy and possible for anyone, so long as you just completed them. The tests are NOT easy. You do need to study for these some. I rarely ever opened my book, maybe 2 times. Usually and assignment plus a quiz every week due by Sunday. 3 Exams, final not cum.

I would recommend him to anyone taking this class. The material used was clear. He made it clear what was due when and what he wanted. You WILL HAVE TO study for the midterm and final, but quizzes are open book for the online class. DO TAKE his class!

Very good course. Professor Graded things VERY fast and was always available for help if I emailed him. You will need the book to study for the tests.

I never looked on this site before going into this class so I had no idea what to expect out of this professor. Fortunately, I was pleasantly surprised. He uses YouTube videos and other forms of multimedia to keep things really engaging. He's a fair and interesting person. His tests are a bit challenging however, if you study, you'll ace them.

Awesome instructor. Keeps class interesting by mixing in media with concepts from the textbook. Dry sense of humor, which I found complimented much of the material covered. Easy class if you have the book and attend lectures. Studying is minimal compared to other subjects I've taken.

Good lectures with lots of multimedia. Very knowledgeable guy with a sense of humor. He needs to engage his students in his lectures because it's pretty much a one-man-show now. However, his notes, material, test review, and quizz are very good and practical. I would recommend him without hesitation.

Great teacher, he's kind and sweet. You have to show up to class to take notes and you do need your book. He likes to show lots of videos for examples. I would take his class, He's awesome!! and cute to look at too!!!(if you're into men with beards)

Good teacher, interesting class. I'm not really a "social science" person but I enjoyed it. He uses a lot of media to enhance things show that there are real world examples of the stuff you learn going on in the world right now. He's also nice and doesn't condescend to students and will let you speak your mind.

He's great! He has very interesting lectures, and is really good about posting study activities and notes online to keep his students engaged. There is a lot of reading but its interesting reading.

I love Mr. Funderburk! He's such a great and understanding person. I love the way he taught. He's one of my favorite professors I've had. I have so much fun in his class, but sadly failed due to my own stupidity and laziness. I enjoy the way he does notes and tests also! I have to re take but will be using him again if possible.

he was very clear in class and taught you what you should expect during exams. helped by giving reviews. and extra reading as well as exercises. if you do these exercises . you are bound to pass.. doesn't test and gave 2 similar answers for one question. or rocket science questions. but no extra credit. so do all your work

Great teacher, his lectures were not boring and always let us out of class early. He shows alot of interesting videos to coincide with what he is teaching about. I thought he was funny, showed lots of colbert report and south park! I would take his class again.

Excellent professor overall. I was really nervous for this math class but he's amazing at making hard material seem easy. He teaches in a very, very straightforward manner that makes the harder stats material easier to understand. He's always available to help and seems to really care about students understanding.

I was nervous about taking stats but he breaks the material down to really help you understand it. He really wants his students to understand what he is teaching and is willing to stay after class or meet during office hours if you have any questions or need extra help. I would definitely recommend taking his class! Great professor!

I liked him a lot. He always gives you the notes in handout form before class starts and shows you how to do the problems you'll encounter on exams. Because it's stats, some of the material is pretty boring at times but he did a really good job breaking down the concepts. He will also work with you outside of class if you come to office hours

Math is NOT my strength and I had taken class before and failed. With Professor F., I ended up doing pretty well. I would say make sure to go and take notes as he made more sense than the book. You need a graphing calculator but I got mine cheap used online and it worked fine. If you have to take this class, he is good option

great prof. Very help and easy to follow lectures. I would highly recommend him for SATS1350. I have no background classes for sats and was scared i would get a horrible grade in it. So far i have maintained an a all semester. does require small amount of time for online and hard copy hom,ework outside of class. honestly less than 10 mins a week.

He's a good teacher but very boring. Do all your activity worksheets and launchpads and you'll get at least a B.

You should definitely come to lass because He gives you lecture handouts for each chapter that have all the needed info and hisreviews are very good for tests. would say a con is it's pretty uninteresting material and not really my thing because it's stats but I think he's great if you absoltly have to take it.

Dr. Funderburk was a gem of a find for statistics. He is actually a sociology professor teaching the course. I was not excited to have to take this class, but he made the material very easy to understand. Makes his powerpoints right out of the textbook (which you won't need). Show up to class due to assignments and pass. Easy A.

I took him for stats and he was good. The material is pretty boring but he does a good job explaining what is going to be on the tests through assignments and study guides. He also brings handouts of the lecture notes for you. There is an online component thats part of the textbook that I didnt find as helpful as his lectures and assignments.

Weekly quiz's that are easy as long as you read the chapter assigned that week (usually only 20 pages). Clear understanding of whats due, tests are only 50 questions online and they're easy. Easy A

Helped me get through stats, a class I thought I would fail, very good person. He's down to earth and will help you at his office hours if you need it. You will need a graphing calculator around the middle of the class but I got mine used on Amazon for cheap. The only con I would says is that he doesn't usually get assignments back quickly.

Very easy professor! He knows the content well and showed interesting videos during the lectures, but he doesn't know any of his students' names. He doesn't even greet us when he first walks into the classroom.

Professor Funderburk never knew or learned any of our names, but he was such a sweet guy! He doesn't care about attendance and he wants you to get an A! He even tells us some of the test questions. Definitely show up to review! If you listen in class or read the textbook (not used in class) you will pass. You just have to do well on the tests!

Had him for elementary stats. Very straightforward, helpful with labs and exam reviews. I went to his office hours several times and he worked with me through some harder material. You will need a graphing calculator.

It was online class for current social problems (sociology). I was surprised by how interesting it was. I'm studying finance so it's not really something that interesting to me but I thought the course was pretty good and very well-designed (it was all online except the tests were taken on campus). You will need the book.

I've had Mr. Funderburk twice. First for a Sociology class (in which was greatly presented, fun, and EASY to grasp, I passed with a high grade) and because of my first experience with him I decided to take his Beginner Statistics class and again passed with a high grade. What a great teach! Take him for a pass!

Easy class that wasn't too time-consuming. Weekly reading with quizzes on each section, a discussion board to study for exams (only 3), plus just 3 writing assignments. Could retake quizzes up to 3 times, very lenient.

Literally one of the best professors Ive had thus far. Adjusting to fully online has been a rough experience personally & he made all that much easier. Genuinely cares about students success & learning. Im thinking about signing up for stats because he is such an amazing professor!

I took his online sociology class. It's really easy and straightforward, all the info is in the textbook. He takes a while to respond to emails but when he does he is very accommodating. I really recommend this professor.

Solid class. He sets you up for success with homework and study guides. Everything matches exams. If you do the homework you are set.

I took SOC 2209. This class was fully online and the guidelines were easy to follow. Weekly reading with a 8 or 10 question quiz. There were a few discussion boards and other small assignments, but the majority of the work was the quizzes. There was a lot of good content and I would take one of his other classes!

BEST PROFESSOR EVER! I have always struggled with math, but Brent made it so easy, weekly homework is graded by effort, not correctness. He gives extra credit. His tests are short and he gives study guides.

This professor was knowledgeable and explained everything very well. Any questions that the class had he made sure to slow down and take extra time to make sure everyone understood. The online lecture videos were very helpful and I utilized them when it came time to study for unit tests. I would 10/10 recommend.

Professor Funderburk is very knowledgeable and helps explain new concepts exceptionally well. He goes into details and makes sure every student thoroughly understands the material. He provides lecture handouts as well as homework. As long as you do the homework and study you should be good. I would take a class Professor Funderburk teaches again

Funderburk is extremely laid back and caring. Accepts late assignments. Allows for multiple attempts on quizzes and homework which make it easy to get a good grade. Course content is interesting. Entirely textbook dependent. Definitely take this class for an easy A especially if you are looking for an online class that isn't too intensive.

Very kind, lots of quizzes, but they are all open note. Finials are split up very fairly. Super easy and informative class. A few discussion boards and papers, but he is a very nice grader. 10/10 would recommend.

Great professor! Made everything very easy to understand. He made this class really hard to do poorly in. He had prerecorded lectures in case you had to skip lecture. Was very accommodating and non judgmental. Absolutely loved him and would take him again.

Overall I highly recommend this class as it covered very important material and the work was very manageable. Although, he was late to respond to emails and never got back to me on a couple. There were quite a few mistakes in quizzes that I corrected him on and he fixed some but not all of them. However, he is kind and it was a great class!

I took 2209. Very easy course, but you do learn a lot if you put in the work. Weekley quizzes, sometimes you have a discussion board or an applied exercise (a few long response questions). Very textbook-reliant, but other relevant resources are also provided. Recommend if you need an easy course for credit.

Best statistics professor. Very engaging and genuinely invested in students understanding. Explains concepts clearly, encourages questions, and makes a subject that's usually intimidating feel manageable.
