he was awesome there was a group project that was very simple and easy and my group had not done their work. i had talked to him about and was extremely fair about it. he tries to make you interested and tries to tell jokes to make his class more interesting. I will be taking his other class next semester.

He is the best professor I have taken at IVC. He is sooo nice and so easy. He actually made history interesting and taught but still let you out early and made you want to come to class. You get a cheat sheet for the midterm and final and they have the ?'s directly from the ones you submit to blackboard EASY A! GREAT GUY!

I love history because of this teacher. He teaches history in a way that grabs your attention. His grading isn't hard, and he gets in on the discussion board (for online class) which I enjoy. Not many teachers will personally reply on posts, and I love how he does. It's really an amazing class to be in.

-I actually learned in this class! Online assignments in addition to in-class lectures, some writing (journals and a class project). Have to attend lectures to get info for written part of the exams. Text is easy and a great backup for class content. Drops people who miss six hours of class and failed one guy for plagierism. No late assignments!

I went into this class a bit apprehensive. I wasn't looking forward to it at all. After the first class meeting my mind was completely changed. He's super funny and extremely enthusiastic about what he's teaching which just makes you my interested by that alone. he's an EXTREMELY fair grader. just do the assignments on blackboard and its an easy A.

I have honestly never enjoyed a history class as much as this one, and that's saying something because I'm planning on majoring in history. He's really funny and you can just tell that he loves what he is teaching. I'm actually trying to get into his HIST175 class for next semester. I would definitely recommend him, he's a great professor.

Awesome professor! I took his class once a week and was dreading it...but he is such a great professor that I actually retained knowledge regarding U.S. History! Online quizzes were sooo easy, u r able to retake them as many times as u want to get 100% and journals were easy as well. The project was kind of a pain, but he was lenient with grading.

Professor Rudmann is AMAZING!!!! I just took his class for HIST 170 and it was the best history class I've ever had. He's hilarious and even though our class only met one day a week and was 3hrs it felt like 1hr because he makes it so interseting. Test are the online quiz questions and he usually gives anywhere between 5-15 questions. Class project which is fun and simple to do. Kind of a drag when you sit there for 3.5 hours but it's history and I did learn!

At the end of the semester I had a very high B, I was 7pts away from an A, but he recommended that I do something to bring my grade up, but I can't say what in the end I got an A in his class. Brent is an amazing human being. I truly enjoy learning colonial history from this guy. He brings history to life with the passion he puts into it. Class is fairly easy if you keep up with the reading, journals and quizzes. If you skip class and if you don't read, you will spend hours taking the quizzes.

Best prof. Funny. His lectures are very entertaining unlike other history classes I've taken. Easy grader. As long as you show you put effort into your work (and it makes sense) he will give you full credit for the assign. Weekly quizzes, journals and two major exams, all online-- that take up more than half the grade. Very manageable! Take him.

History is not my strong subject, but Rudmann made it interesting to take part in. He's comedic too! He'll make you laugh! It's really hard to fail this class. There should be no reason why you should get anything lower than a B in this class. It's that damn easy. Great teacher and great teaching style. I would definitely recommend him.

Great professor!! You can tell he loves to teach. He grabs the students attention and pulls you into the lecture! Just simply amazing how excited he gets about history! Easy Peasy assignments. Every QuizTest is done online. He lets you use the textbook to take the quiz, which are about every week. Also enthusiastic about teaching. He will go over some topics in great detail, and those will be on the final as written responses. Just take notes on whatever he says that isn't in the powerpoint and you'll ace it.

I was dreading this class strictly on premise of the subject. I am not one to write reviews often but I felt that this professor needed justice. Great instructor, made a potentially boring subject interesting, and a very fair and reasonable grading rubric. Would recommend and/or take again!

Easily the best instructor out there. He's extremely hyped up and makes class enjoyable. The midterm and final are online, and if you take notes in class you'll get 100% on both. He offers 30 points of extra credit throughout the semester. Only downside is the online homework, which takes maybe 30 minutes sometimes.

Weekly Quiz and 1 HW assignment is online, hella easy. Come to class b/c he gives out random class assignments which counts as participation pts. For my semester, Midterm and Final were online & there should be no reason for you to not score less than a B. EC is given and it's easy to do. This class is stupid easy, no reason not to pass with an A!

just finished the 4 week intersession with Mr. Rudmann and he is awesome. I never liked history but this teacher made it awesome. Midterm, final and homework are online, couple iclicker quizzes, and a two page paper. The Tests are based on notes and lectures, so take good notes while he talks. If you want a good history teacher, take Mr. Rudmann

Took him for intercession. Comes off as extremely knowledgeable. As long as you listen to his lectures you'll ace both the online midterm and online final. Don't underestimate the homeworks though. They're time consuming so start early!! He also posts extra credit on twitter so make sure to follow him on there. Easy A. I'm ending with around a 100%

Honestly one of the best professors at OCC. This class was really easy and we learned a lot. His way of teaching focuses on HIS TEACHINGS more than the tests which is how all the classes should be. You actually learn a lot when you aren't having to stress about tests. Midterm and Final online. Do all the HW assignments, they add up! easy grader!

I have never encountered a professor who was so involved with making sure their students are involved. He did a mock trial for the salem witches. Got the whole class involved. He is super funny and extremely understanding. Make sure to pay attention to the homework questions and class questions through the i clicker. Most on test. Awesome A++++

Professor Rudmann is a fantastic professor. Its evident that he has a real passion for what he does. He is a great instructor and adds humor to all his class session. You will laugh and smile as much as you learn (which will be a lot). I did have a difficult time with his class as i'm a slow learner but I put the work in and have made it happen.

Brent is the man! Super enthusiastic for a night class professor, he'll keep you awake for sure. Chill, funny, easy grader, 2 short exams taken online, 1 poster project at end of semester, weekly online assignments (don't be threatened by this, they're not hard at all), and one short essay (again not hard at all) Take him! You get weekly online homework that are super easy. I got an A and missed a lot of class. All tests/finals were online take homes. You have one paper and he gives you great advice. He has lots of extra credit. The poster project at the end of the semester will help your grade out a lot. Thats it. One of the coolest professors I've had in at OCC!

I got an A in this class and I didnt learn anything or pay attention in class. His class is basically 1 paper, weekly online hw, online midterm, online final, and a poster. If you do actually want to learn, really pay attention.

Easiest history class of my life. But be aware of the fact that his classes fill up FAST (NO JOKE). Its almost impossible for you to not get an A in this class.

Rudmann is awesome! I took his intercession course and it was honestly the easiest class I have ever taken. As long as you complete the homework you will get full points for it. Really cool guy! I took history 175 with him after failing it twice previously at other schools. History is not a fun subject for me but he really gets you into it. He makes it fun and easy to understand. Creative class activities that make you think deeper about the subject instead of just memorizing things. Highly recommend!

This professor is perhaps one of the best teachers at Orange Coast College. He is very humorous and very passionate about the material he is teaching. If you let him revise your paper, you will get the highest grade possible. He is a very caring man and will help you succeed as long as you show up to class.

Professor Rudmann's class was a piece of cake. There's no way you can't get an A in his class. Attendance is mandatory due to surprise iclicker quizzes to check your attendance, but they're graded on participation and not if you got the correct answer or not. Midterm & Finals are online and most of the questions are his iclicker questions. Easy A

Prof Rudmann is awesome. His History of England class was so fun and interesting. He's super easy as a grader. The class gets a bit carried away and he's not strict enough to keep it under control so it's a bit chaotic. Overall this class and professor was a joy to take.

Rudmann is arguably the greatest professor I've ever had. Everyone who's taken one of his classes has a story where he did something awesome to help them out with a grade, or had an incredible lecture or activity. Even his honors class was simple and straightforward, would recommend to anyone (whether they like history or not!!)

Best Professor Ever

Professor Rudmann is awesome and extremely knowledgable about the course subject. Someone would have to work extra hard not to pass this class, there is barely any homework except reading the chapters and iclicker quizzes every other day, which are basically the same questions as the book. WARNING: Lectures can get boring after sitting for an hour.

You will succeed in his class. He takes a boring subject and makes it interesting. Attend every class and stay on top of the homework and you will pass. Lots of opportunities for extra credit, take advantage of those to pad your grade.

Professor Rudmann is the absolute best. You take tests but they're online if that is what your class chooses which he encourages bc he allows notes. I had him for Western Civilization I Honors in Fall 2019. He is such a wonderful and amazing history professor. He makes his lectures worth going to and he really loves doing his job. His honors class is an easy A. The class is around 1000 points mainly from iClicker quizzes, 3 easy exams, and an annotated bibliography. Take him as your professor!

Rudmann is an amazing storyteller, which I think is rare for history teachers. He knows the material inside out, but he won't expect you to memorize dates and the nitpicky stuff,. Read and get to know the material and you should do fine Brent's personality is a great bonus. You will look forward to going to this class!

I enjoyed having professor Rudmann as a teacher even though class had to move online. He responded quick with emails and he made sure that we stayed caught up with everything. Do the work he assigns, follow directions and this class should be a breeze. Ask questions if you get stuck, he's there to help out.

Brent lives for history. Great lecutres and really knows his stuff. Likes students who think outside the box and encourages free thinking. Assignments are not difficult, with amazing lead time. If it is a requirement or an elective take his classes. I loved every minute.

Professor Rudmann is an awesome professor. He is charismatic and he is very easy to follow during his lectures. As both an online and in-person teacher, I would recommend. Often times you leave his class with a lot more history knowledge than the average teacher and even have some fun with the assignments given, even in an online capacity.

Such a sweet man! It's easy to learn from someone who is so genuinely in love with a topic. He brings the passion & it really makes the information stick! He gives lots of extra credit by the way of watching a movie (we watched Sleepy Hollow & The Patriot) & then giving some feedback that ties into what we were learning at the time. Take him!

This guy is great! He is clearly passionate about the subject, he's great a relaying information clearly, and he clearly puts in an effort to make sure that no one is left questioning what is expected in his assignments. He has fun in his classes, and it is infectious.

Coursework consists of reading, review questions, and historical analysis. Answers to exam questions derive from video lectures and the textbook. Best of all, Rudmann provides an abundance of exciting EC opportunities (i.e., movie nights).

I took Prof. Rudmann's U.S Hist to 1876 class. I think I learned more in this class than any other I've taken at OCC. His enthusiasm for the subject is contagious and his knowledge is vast. His lectures are AMAZING and I promise you will not be bored! Clear grading criteria and he offers x- credit essays. Modules are easy to understand, fun class.

It's a privilege to take Professor Rudman whether it's Western Civ or US History He is very entertaining Without a doubt, he deserves the title of Professor and is by far the best history teacher/ professor I have seen. He cares and listens to the class needs and has a far grading criteria would highly recommend him.

Online class. Lecture videos are mandatory and are linked to weekly questions. Even online, the lectures are interesting. You can tell he really loves history. Weekly assignments, offers periodic extra credit. Bonus- mostly keeps current political discourse and division (and his own opinions) out of the class content.

Take this class if you can, especially with Mr. Rudmann. He is a great teacher and explains the class information well. He is genuine and a respected teacher. I would take his class again, if I could.

I took prof Rudman for both hist170 and hist195! Lots of extra credit, light workload, and attendence is semi-important but if you let him know ahead of time he is very generous! His lectures were funny and very entertaining, he is super passionate about what he does and truly cares for his student's success more than anything. TAKE HIS CLASS!!

This class was an easy A, he gives a lot of extra credit opportunities. He is a genuinely kind person, and loves the subject he teaches. Was by far the most refreshing class I've taken because it was actually really enjoyable. Make sure you are constantly checking you do not miss assignments he does not add then to the course calendar.

this professor was a bit of work. I had an A the whole semester until I did not ace the final exam and brought my grade down. Be prepared to put in the studying and the work if you want to pass his class.

He has weekly quizzes and assignments/discussions, just make sure you do them because he locks them after the deadline. Do as much EC as possible to up your grade and make sure you leave enough time to watch his lectures. Overall it was an okay class as long as you hand in your assignments, take notes and watch the lectures.

Pros: Easy A class, quizzes, and exams are no time so take your time completing them. Many extra credit options recommend getting as much as possible because it's easy. Cons: Turn in your assignment on time bc he will never grade them AGAIN. Quiz and exam questions can be found in lectures (some of them). Best class to get your GPAs UP!

An absolute chad. He gave me some extra credit points for free so I could pass the class.

His lectures were fun and very informative. You will have to do some reading, but after listening to his lectures you can't help but want to know more about the subjects he discusses. He offers fun extra credit assignments and some even benefit both you and your peers/community. He has a midterm and a final; jot notes and you won't have an issue.

He was a great prof and I wish I could take him again. He's very lecture heavy but they can be kind of unorganized. He gets distracted with tangents easy but theyre usually related to the content. All exam questions were based on lectures and were pretty easy.

Nothing was timed and everything was open book, so you literally have no excuse to not get an A. Very kind, hilarious Professor. Everything was straight forward, just do the work.

I took him during intercession. The class was very easy, just listen to the lectures.

Professor Rudman is incredible and genuinely so kind. I had him for an 8 am class, and he was always ready to teach and never failed to lack in energy regardless of the time. He is so understanding and open to helping students always. A once in a million teacher!

Took HIST A170 summer of 2023. I was worried the class would be overwhelming and hard and I wouldn't be able to enjoy my summer. But the class was VERY fun, informative and easy. He gives lots of opportunities to succeed. Take his class for GE requirements, its an easy A and you will learn a lot.

I think he did a really good job being informative and entertaining. He seems really passionate about his job and the subject. I took this course during the summer and there was a lot of lectures and reading to get through but it was doable.

He is a really nice teacher and is very entertaining, I suggest that people take his class for an easy A and a fun time. He gives out a lot of Extra Credit so anyone who takes this course has many opportunities to get a good grade.

Professor Rudmann is a very energetic teacher who clearly loves his job. The course is lecture based and the midterm and final are open note. As long as a you pay attention and attend the classes you'll do just fine. You'd have to actively try to fail. He is also super easy to talk to and very flexible as long as you talk to him first.

honestly such a good professor and a great guy all around. I enjoyed every class of his and could not recommend taking this course with Rudmann enough. you will enjoy this class and can earn a good grade with decent effort.

I really enjoyed his class and would love to take anything else he teaches. Overall it was really easy and enjoyable to learn from him you can tell he loves what he does. Plus he's super funny which always lightens things up. 10/10

Had really interesting/engaging lectures! If you read the textbook and take notes (he had it posted online so you didn't have to pay for it) you should do good on the tests.

He made going to an 8:00 am class more tolerable since he always had so much energy & made the lectures really fun to learn from. I've always struggled with history, but he made it very fun and was such an energy booster for the rest of the day. The class isn't too hard, reading the textbook helps to solidify any lessons he teaches. He is funny! :D

Don't know think there's a single person that could hate this guy. Super wholesome and is a wizard when it comes to history. He's everything you'd want in a teacher! Extremely easy class with a few focus questions due every week based on reading. Even with this easy template, he still manages to teach you more than any other prof out there would.

Awesome Honors class to take. Great subject and great lecturer. Tests and Homework were online. If you want to learn the material you will, if you are the type to just google or use AI, you can in this class but then it will be very boring and you are only cheating yourself.

good professor. communicates, the only thing was his cengage online textbook there were so many times where things were not working and instead of helping he said that we had to contact cengage themselves cause he couldn't do anything. there were prob like 6/7 times where a quiz or a homework assignment did not work. overall good professor.

Professor Rudmann's HIS170 class is an engaging and rewarding experience. The lectures are informative, the material is manageable, and Unstuck study proved to be a helpful study tool. Definitely take this easy A course.

Awesome professor, easy class, lots of quizzes but easy. Just perfect for GED. I loved that once in a blue moon I didn't have to stress over a class. Thank you Mr Rudmann!

Super entertaining lectures and a super easy workload. You need to be in class and taking notes to do well on the tests as they're mostly based on lecture, not the textbook. There was only one big project and we had over a month to get it done.

Rudmann is very funny and amazing. He's very down to earth and is VERY approachable. He really gets into his element in the classroom. A few tests on the online textbook each week, but the lectures are important, so just show up and do the assignments and you'll be fine. Easy A, fun professor, and very fun class. Would 1000% take again.

My favorite teacher i've had yet at OCC! Even though i took his online US history course, you can really tell that he cares deeply about the subject matter and his students! He's super flexible too and understanding, which i can't say about many other profs i've had this semester! I'm gonna miss his class!

Took an online course but could still tell he cared about students. Sends reminders about assignments. Lenient with grading and is willing to set up a zoom call if you have questions about a grade. Very understanding, one of the best teachers I've had. I'd take any class with this professor. Offers a good amount of EC, take advantage of it.

He's a great professor and very knowledgeable in his field. He's able to field all the questions, hit to Jim by ENGAGED students. Some students are playing games on their laptops the whole time, that's on them because his classes are lecture heavy. That what we pay for, instruction and in his classes you will find exactly that. Ive taken 3 classes

He is so amazing!!!!! The textbook was online but it was about $40, and that's mandatory. Even though the class was online, his lectures were fun and easy to follow. There were some extra credit Zoom meetings, but they were fun and I truly enjoyed this class. He never responded to any of my emails though... 😅

Professor Rudmann is the best. He is so nice, so passionate about what he teaches, so funny, so knowledgeable, and an overall just good person. He needs a RAISE!! I loved coming to his classes—I don't like history but he makes it actually interesting with his lectures. Warning: he will bring in prop armor/weapons (they're fake don't worry!) :)

Honestly great class, would most definitely take again! Super easy, only one real project and nice guy. Have to buy the online book but it was only 30 bucks. 10/10 recommend.

A bunch of easy test and quizes, there is one 3-4 page paper asignment worth 25% of your grade but its not too bad and he gives you good feedback. Every test is online take home open note. He is also a really good guy personally, very nice and approachable, if you want to take a history classes before you transfer he's the one. fun lectures.

Ive taken Professor Rudman for 3 classes, and would highly recommend. He is a great lecturer and helps students prepare for their academic journeys. He keeps the class engaged and is quite knowledgable in historical warfare and weapons, which is right up my area of study. Great Prof.

Such a fun professor who noticeably cares about teaching and the well-being of his students. Took him for 180 and 185. Very clear grading criteria, if you do the work you will pass with ease!

His lectures are amazing and interesting. He's funny and engaging. The textbook was free online and very informing. His assignments were clear and easy if you pay attention to lectures and readings!

I took this class for the summer to complete my gen eds. The class was fully online. This class will take time but the quizzes and tests come from the lectures and reading. There were a few writing assignments each week but are quick and doable. I recommend this class for if you need the credits or want to learn US history.

HIST A170 Best professor I've had at OCC. His lectures are really enjoyable and he makes it easy to understand. New reading assigned every week, but just skimming the reading worked for me. Tons of extra-credit opportunities - TAKE THEM! One paper, but you get to pick the topic (within the timeline).

He is a little flaky on communication but besides that he is great and his class is fun. If you need to fulfill a history GE he is definitely the one to take. The only semi-difficult thing is the research abstract which should maybe take you only a few hours and that is about it.
