Ur is seriously one of the greatest teachers I have ever had. He isn't super strict about attendance but I definitely encourage it. He hands out outlines for each chapter and you get to fill them out according to his lectures which pertains to his tests completely. And about his lectures, they are so halarious and VERY interesting. He's great!!

Hes lenient on a lot of things, but he is a tough grader for the class participations (writing) & extra credit (writing) work. Overall, his class is enjoyable and laid back.

Prof. Ur make the class really interesting! He he is really funny too. Some of his tests can occasionally be hard so make sure to always study and keep good notes on both the book and his lectures. He is also a really hard grader on homework/projects so just be prepared for that. Overall a great professor and I would recommend taking him for SOCI.

Awesome teacher I learned something new everyday! and never wanted to miss class because I loved his lectures. gives extra credit chances tests are not hard and he gives a choice of a take home essay test or multiple choice test. I liked the essay tests better but when the class voted we went back to multiple choice. Take him you wont be sorry!

LOVED this class. He obviously cares about what he is teaching about. If you don't like cussing then he may not be for you (it was honestly really funny and by the end of the class I didn't even notice anymore). Definitely recommend him as a prof.

Good teacher. His lectures are interesting. His tests don't seem to match up with the information he tells us, questions that seem like all of the above could be right but doesn't give that option. Usually doesn't take attendance. Does clarify any questions you have. Lots of EC and papers that he barely even reads, just grades.

BEST PROF EVER!!!! need to get Sociology as a prerequisite out of the way take this professor. He had notes online that you just need to fill in thats what you study for test. There is a 1 page essay due for every exam that can only help your grade. Was and easy B. Extra credit is available.

Seriously the best teacher I have EVER had! He is so funny and his lectures are always entertaining! I actually looked forward to his class, which is extremely rare. All of his notes are online, and his tests are straight from the book. Projects are wicked easy as well and are rarely assigned. TAKE HIM IF YOU CAN!! I'm sad to be leaving this class!

This professor is hilarious! I love everything about this class. It's very interesting and he is explosive during lectures. It definitely beats reading the book, not to mention he's a super nice guy. Really funny and cool dude. Offers up to 5 total points on your semester average by doing his bonus assignments. Also offers the opportunity to write a paper that he'll grade and use to replace your lowest test score. Fun class and it's never boring. He's always in a good mood. I looked forward to this class and it was an 8:45am.

Professor Ur is as good as they come! He isn't a stickler on attendance but I promise you his lectures are better than reading out of the book! His tests are difficult and he really wants you to understand the material. He offers extra credit papers that can add to your final and 2 that can replace a test grade! HIGHLY RECCOMMEND

I loved professor Ur! His lectures were always super interesting and funny! If you're confused about something, he will take the time to elaborate and expand until you understand! There were 3 papers and 2 "projects" which were actually just a few simple questions. Definitely take him if you can!

His class is tons of fun, every lecture you laugh and you can tell he is super passionate about sociology! The tests are confusing at times, but if you study weeks in advance you will be fine. Attend every class because he goes into detail about the stuff you need to know for the test. Do all the extra credit and you are good to go

Great professor. Kept students very engaged in the lecture and was good about making sure everyone was involved. I was never bored listening. Only complaint is the tests are much more specific than the notes given in class so it's probably a good idea to read the textbook.

Professor Ur is by far one of my favorite professors that I've taken so far. He makes class interesting and is absolutely hilarious! Really laid back and is super understanding. He really is there to help, and gives great extra credit opportunities. If you don't pass, it's your own fault. I would take his class over and over again if i could!

4 exams, 3 essays, 2 easy project assignments. Ur is an amazing instructor - his lectures are fun and interesting, and you actually do learn a lot. His exams can be tricky, because he uses definitions from the book which can differ from his definitions in lecture, but I just reviewed the book definitions and lecture notes and made a 97. TAKE HIM!

AMAZING teacher. Sometimes we get off track but the conversation is relevant. Sit in the front row and you'll participate more. Fun teacher who gives a lot of feedback and extra credit. The projects and papers are SUPER easy, please do them.

He's very passionate about Sociology. Class was alot of conversation. I took the may minimester and made a B. Everything on the tests were discussed in class. The book was helpful for writing papers (which he graded with leniency). He actually was funny.

Explains difficult topics in a way you can understand. If you have a question, he works his hardest to make sure you understand. Tests can be difficult because he did not cover everything that was on the test. Touch essay grader, but gives you helpful feedback. Very funny and good looking.

His class was the most enjoyable class I've ever had. He does take attendance, and his exams can be challenging. However, you will attend his class because it's fun. Make sure you print out the notes he posts online and then study a bit from the book. Also, I got a 70 on one test but did all the extra credit so ended up w an A. Final nt cumulative.

Amazing Professor! Looked forward to attending class. Very relaxed setting & he encourages feedback & discussion. Tests are not the easiest despite being open book (blended class). Weekly papers (approximate3paragraphs) on topics discussed/three 1-2 page papers/4 tests/& offers extra credit. I learned a lot! He opens your mind to various topics.

The lectures he gave were incredible and hilarious. He provides a lot of extra credit, but you have to write at least five essays that are due around test dates (mostly just one page). The final is not cumulative, but his exams are very tough. Most questions are confusing so you really have to understand the terms in order to make an A.

My favorite teacher of the semester. Truly cares about every student and whether he/she understands the material he presents. His lectures are awesome, never has a social science come so easily to me. I went to class out solely because he makes it interesting. If you do the work and study, you will get an A.

This class was not easy, but he is very helpful and gives really interesting lectures. You need to go to class because the tests are based solely from the lectures. After the final I had a 79.2 and he looked over my previous work and raised my grade to a B. Saved my life. I would definitely take it again!

I normally have a hard time focusing and staying tuned in during class but he definitely keeps your attention the whole time he is talking. He makes sure that you can relate to the subjects he talks about and constantly makes you laugh. I really enjoyed his class and would take it again if I could spend that money again!

Took Professor Ur my first semester of college and loved his class so much I would voluntarily show up Friday mornings. I nearly cried when it was over but luckily I took him again. Lectures are extremely fun and relatable, making it easy to stay engaged and interested. There is some homework and the tests were tricky, but take him! Well worth it

Never liked lecture classes but he makes you want to listen. Puts notes outline on e-campus which makes studying a lot easier and knowing what to write down. Easily the funniest person I've ever met. He realizes that sociology is boring, so he makes it fun and uses real life examples for you to better understand the meaning. His tests are all term meaning problems. You have to write three essays which are a little difficult, but he grades pretty easy.

I took Social Problems blended this semester. The best professor I've ever had.. He gives tons of opportunities for extra credit and the tests are online and not hard (I got a 98 on the final). Classes are often cut short and he talks about topics that the whole class will want to participate in. Easy homework and not very much.

Professor Ur is such a great a great prof! He makes every lecture fun and the examples he gives in class stick in your head to help you for the exam. Got As on every test with just looking over the notes the night before. He give substitution assignments for tests and essays if you do make a bad grade or forget to do one. A lifesaver!!

Writing down the examples that he would give for specific topics really helps you understand and remember some of the most difficult content that he teaches. Overall he's a really funny and interesting professor you will never be bored in his class, he interacts with the students and he opens your mind and helps you see the nonbias side of things.

Professor Ur is so nice and engaging! He seriously makes everything interesting. Its important to be in class to take notes, because thats what his tests are. There are a couple easy assignments. He gives lots of extra credit opportunity. The tests are pretty fair.. He seems to really care for his students! Class gets out early 95% of the time.

I laughed from the first day to the last , even test days he has some comedic relief. If you are shy i wouldn't suggest the class because Its a very interactive classroom. Also there isn't very many assignments so you can't miss any of them. Not a hard grader if you stick somewhat to the rubric. Test are hard and require studying but only count 40%

Brent offered sooo many extra credit papers and the only deadline is a little before finals so it's virtually constantly there. He had really laid back lectures and was hilarious. He doesnt like to do attendance especially towards the end of the year but he does it 70% of the time since its mandatory. Overall great guy and great class!

Textbook isn't mandatory but I would get it anyways because it makes it easier to understand the tests, which can be deceptively tricky at times. Take advantage of the extra credits and test substitutions and you should get an A.

Great prof! This is the kind of prof that you sign up to take, and come to class to listen to. Lectures were very entertaining and interesting, and the tests involve a lot of material from lectures. Ive had at least 30 professors in the three years since I had Ur at Blinn and hes still the best professor Ive ever had. I had intro to sociology and criminology with him and it got me to major in sociology. His classes are exactly what you hope and expect college will be like. I looked forward to attending class.

The best professor I have ever had. 3 tests, 3 participation papers, 2 projects that were papers and a final. Very easy grading on the papers. Offers substitution assignments for tests and papers. He is very into what he does and is an expert in his field. You don't have to go to the lectures but I went because he makes them interesting and fun.

He takes role until the first test, that's it. Tests aren't easy, but he gives easy extra credit for up to ten points on your FINAL grade (start that ASAP though). Super funny lectures, he basically just tells you terms and you study them and you're good. Pay attention to theories - that's 80% of the test, NOT just regurgitating terms.

His class is mainly lecture based, he has a few papers just to get your opinion on things. TAKE NOTES DURING THE LECTURES! His tests are kind of hard just because of how "academically-phrased" it is. Totally TAKE HIM!

He is such a laid-back teacher. If you show up to class and take notes you will easily pass. If you spend an hour or two studying then you will get A's on the tests. There are 4 papers so if you aren't a great writer you may have a problem but he grades pretty easy. If you let him use you as an example during class then it will work in your favor.

A super cool professor - his lectures are fun and naturally help you learn the material. He was very helpful and gave advice about what I could do to improve my papers. Memorize what the different theory's think about a subject and you're golden.

He is quite funny and uses his own life as some examples to explain a topic. There are plenty of extra credit options so use them and get an A or don't and get a B.

Taking notes in class is really simple and he lets you know what you need to know. He doesn't care about attendance but with him as a professor, youll want to go!

Get ready for him to lecture over the topics that y'all will learn about, and take some notes, it also what we did every single class. He also is very good with noticing you outside class. lol You will have 4 test, and other than that some class work.

Professor Ur is a great guy, but I found myself struggling to maintain an A in his class. All lectures are verbal, meaning you need to attend. What made it difficult was his exams. He will reword the definition in such a weird way that it's difficult to understand. BUT, his lectures were very interesting and he's very funny/relatable.

Brent Ur was a super fun prof. He cares about his students, and will basically take you under his wing. He is very funny and while lecturing he will drift off topic and tell the funniest of stories. He is very understanding, and helpful. If you're planning on taking a Soci class, I definitely recommend Brent!!

If you have the opportunity to take Ur DO IT! He is the absolute best professor. His class is actually fun and he includes everyone in lectures. He is so hilarious and caring. Great Prof. So sad Im not taking him this semester.

350 characters cannot sum up how amazing this guy is. His 1301 Soci class was amazing. He uses real-life examples and really makes you understand the subject. He offers a bunch of extra credit. There is not much course work just 3 tests a final and a few papers. This class was so much fun Ur is a fantastic guy!!! Lectures are AMAZING. 12/10

Highly recommend Ur. He is so dedicated to teaching, and he makes sociology fun and interesting to learn. Tests are kind of worded weird, but it's completely doable and I never failed one. His extra credit brought my grade up ten points. Love him and would take him again if I had the chance.

Professor Ur is incredible. His lectures were so engaging and he is just overall a great teacher. I took an 8-week course and had 4 exams (including the final), 2 projects (1-page papers), and 3 papers (each paper was built off the previous one). I would take Ur's class 1000000 times over again. He is such an awesome professor. TAKE HIS CLASS.

Professor Ur was probably the best professor I've had at blinn. He's very cooperative and forgiving. He also doesn't try to push any political views on his students, which for me was a huge plus.

Prof Ur was really easy to work with. If you missed an assignment and you reached him ahead of time, he would work with you to turn it in. Always stated in his class that it would be impossible to fail bc he is willing to work with you. Interested in the subject and made class interesting to listen to. Register for his class if you get the chance.

Professor Ur is probably one of the best professors I have ever had at Blinn College. He makes his lectures so fun and he is so helpful to any questions you may have about the class. None of his exams are proctored, that includes his final exam. 10/10 excellent professor.

Professor Ur was hands down the best teacher I have ever came across at blinn. He makes the lectures so fun and interesting gives real life examples that hes gone through. You do have papers but were pretty easy to do. Open note/book test and not proctored. Gives a ton of extra credit. I was honestly sad that I took a 8 week course with him.

I had Prof Ur for an 8 week course. He's very understanding and will work with you. The papers are extremely vague which can make choosing a topic difficult. He gives good extra credit. He's definitely left-leaning but I'll forgive him for that cause his class is an easy A as long as you do the work and take notes in class.

This is a great professor. He is extremely funny and the lectures are very interesting. He always will explain things for you no matter what. He is a solid choice. 4 exams. 3 papers. 2 projects. The only thing is that the exam questions are hard to understand. Other than that, he is a great professor and I can tell he loves his job.

Lectures keep you interested. I genuinely enjoyed going to this class everyday. Its a fun class and he makes it even more fun. The few assignments he gives are very clear and straight forward.

His lectures where funny and engaging. You could use the notes on exams so always take notes. Tests always lined up with the lectures and he offered multiple extra credit oppourtunites. There where very few things to be graded on but it was always easy like 3 papers all under 5pgs and then tests. He was rlly funny and I would take him again.

He is Super nice, and makes the class to benefit you! I would recommend him to anyone. Super easy and fun, but you still learn content.

Prof Ur is enthusiastic about his students and the material he is teaching. I found myself looking forward to his class every week. His tests are online no Honorlock, and there are 5 papers to write total but 3 of those you can build upon(use the same essay). He's a very common sense guy and is always interacting with the class. You will love him!

I LOVED Mr. Ur. It is so easy to learn in his class because he makes it so enjoyable and entertaining. I'm stupid and missed exams because he doesn't talk about the dates often, but he still allowed me to take it without any points off. He's also super woke.

Great professor, easy-going, and makes lectures interesting. His notes are super easy that clearly state everything. Exams are not that hard and are all online. Lots of writing though, have 2 written projects and 3 major essays. Tons of extra credit opportunities. Would def take this class!

Ur is perfect for SOCI 1301! Lectures aren't necessary, but he explains everything with detail and enthusiasm. 4 exams (4th isn't comprehensive) that are basically from his notes (already made) and his in-person information. 5 papers that can each be done in a weekend. There are extra-credit papers. Ur is super chill and this class is an easy A.

Professor Ur is very understanding and kind. I really enjoyed his class. You only have 10-12 assignments the whole time. Watch out for the deadlines, as he closes assignments at 11:30 instead of 12. He does a really good job of explaining the content and you can tell he enjoys it.

Never in my entire life have I wanted to go to school until I took this class. You don't even need to go to class, you can get As on the tests just by looking at his notes, yet I still went to every class because I was so interested. He's incredible at involving the students, keeping you entertained and laughing, but still learning. 100% recommend!

1000000% recommend taking Professor Ur! To be completely honest, I think I went to class once or twice and still made an A+... he grades super easily and doesn't assign very many things. Bless your GPA with this professor!

A great professor that's easy going. If you use textbook, notes, and actually listen/have-fun in lecture, the class is easy. I could have made an A if I had read the textbook more. He provides 2 letter grades worth of Extra Credit (actual Extra Credit and substitution assignments). He also just actually cares; I felt actually safe in his class.

Professor Ur is a great teacher, you are not required to show up to class but i would highly recommend going because his lectures are amazing. I took him in an 8 week class and it went by super fast, he only gave 5 total papers and 4 tests, all online and not proctored. he also gives extra credit options and an extra credit paper. Amazing guy!!!!!

This class was always enjoyable and interesting. I am a quiet person and his lectures made me want to participate. He gives a lot of extra credit and is willing to work with you. I took his blended class and all the exams were open-book. Take him if you can!

BEST professor ever! I took a blended class (our tests were online and open-book). The class itself was genuinely so interesting and I wanted to go to class every day. TAKE THIS PROFESSOR! I took him for sociology and am currently taking his social psychology class just because I enjoyed his class so much. His classes are straightforward. If you do the work he assigns you will do well in the class. Though you don't need to go to class to be successful I highly recommend going just because they are so interesting.

Best professor ever !!! So much extra credit. Tests were not bad, and no honorlock. One paper per unit, but he graded really easy and they weren't long at all (would do them the night before). Such interesting lectures. Take if you want easy A. Attendance is not mandatory, but he does tell you test questions and answers in lectures, so take notes !

Professor Ur has to be one of the best professors iv'e taken at the Blinn campus. He is hilarious, and cares for all of his students. His lectures were very interesting and engaging. Professor Ur's SOC1301 class is an engaging and rewarding experience. With minimal assignments and ample extra credit, it's an easy A. Lectures are captivating, and unstuck AI proved a helpful study tool alongside the optional textbook. Highly recommend!

hes a super kind man with interactive, entertaining lectures. he had some tough tests but he always curved them heavily. all his tests are online, at home, unproctured.

Very easy course. Professor Ur is friendly and an easy grader. You only have a few papers and tests throughout the 8 weeks but he rarely gives you less than an 'A' on papers. Tests are pretty much open note.

I took a 8 week SOCI 1301 class and there are not enough words to explain how good professor Ur was !!! Super helpful, great and interesting lectures, VERY FUNNY. Very hard to not pass this class. Just overall really perfect professor. I would definitely take him again if I could!!

Ur is great. Super easy grader and hilarious lectures. He works with students if they have scheduling conflicts and overall is very understanding. His lectures are great but you can do well in the class without attending them as well.

Prof Ur was so sweet and caring. I attended class the first day only and got an 82 in the class but that is mainly because I missed a due date for a paper and got a 0. I recommend!

He made every lecture interesting and always welcomed and answered questions. The only mandatory grades were papers and exams, but all exams were open note including the final and papers were not difficult also extra credit for every unit. Overall, he is one of the nicest professors I've ever had, and genuinely enjoys his job.
