Not many tests at all. She seems to discuss whatever she feels like talking about that day and always goes off topic. You will not get a straight answer when you ask a question. She expects you to listen to everything she says but when you speak or ask a question its like your speaking a different language to her. if you miss class she will confron

Professor Buchalski is hands down one of the worst professors I've taken at UTSA. 80% of her lecture material is random, useless, and unrelated to the subject. She spent 20 minutes talking about feng shui. Studying for the exam is nearly pointless, because the exam questions are entirely out of her head. Little to no relation to course material.

Buchalski has a lovely way of making a relatively straightforward subject extremely difficult to understand. I'm a psychology major and have a love for the subject and I dread this class. She's scatterbrained and has a hard time staying on subject for more than a few minutes. Do not take this professor.

I would not take this professor again. You can't ask her a simple question without over-analyzing it and completely disregard what you asked. Her lectures are way off topic and her powerpoints are literally a sentence per slide or just a picture. If you read the book, you do not have to go to class. If you want a real professor, don't take her.

Do NOT take Brenya! She is condescending and disorganized. She jumps around topics, and you will never know how to study for her tests! I missed 1 question on the midterm, but got a 50 on the final, because she's that inconsistent! You definitely don't need to get the book. Just be prepared for the desire to pull your hair out during class

If you have any elementary knowledge of culture and psychology, this class will offer nothing new. I can't emphasize enough how obsessed with herself she is. She is the center of almost everything she talks about. It's bothersome. She sucks to listen to, my eyes hurt from rolling them so hard. If you care about learning, do not take this class.

Dr. Buchalski is literally the worst teacher i've ever had. her lectures don't make sense, she's rude, condescending, and overall just out of it. you don't have to go to class to get a good grade because her tests are common sense. easy grade but the class makes me want to scream.

this class is an easy grade but not worth the drama. I feel the instructor likes to provoke Reactions from the students by confusing them. She will have a power point slide with one picture displayed and instead of Talking about the course subject she will selfishly talk about herself and her many ventures in life. She also makes nasty remarks

I see a consistency with Dr. B. She's constantly confusing the class with material that only relates to her. It's pointless in showing up since the subject is about her and not psychology. Google images, etc..

If you like 5 question exams that mess up your whole grade, even though your you have all A's on past exam. Please take her class. 5 questions were 25 points on over the whole class. Miss one and you're screwed. She's funny but doesn't follow the book that well and her exams are bogus. She doesn't make a clear distinctions of what she wants.

Talks about herself A LOT. Will embarrass you in front of the class. Interrupts people before they are finished and does not understand the intended message. Asks inappropriate personal questions IN FRONT of the class. Feels like she is trying to size everyone up. Very defensive. Tests come from the book.

Straight Garbage homie. To the homies that are taking the class with no other option, good luck. Pro-tip: You need to read the book and match terms with her lectures. That means go to class and try to type as fast as you can. Then go over every single subject and topic constantly. All tests matter, each question is 18 points.

Dr. Buchalski is the most annoying person I have ever met. I learned next to nothing about psychology from her, but I did get to hear her talk about herself for 50 minutes three times a week. She is very rude to students and extremely self absorbed. Just read the book and take the tests.

Dr.B is honestly so rude and one of the worst professor I have had as a student. I would only take her if you have absolutely no other option. You will get so frustrated because she makes you feel stupid and she acts like she is the smartest professor in the world when in reality she is a bad teacher, very confusing and hard to follow.

I went into this class thinking it wouldn't be so difficult considering the reviews, BUT, it was all fun and games until lectures began to be about what she felt like talking about and not actual psychology. I really wanted to enjoy this class but at the rate it went, I would have much rather read a book over the course than sit through lecture.

Her lectures are very difficult to follow, she goes off topic a lot and her lecture and slides often have nothing to do with each other. Very rude, regularly says things that could offend people or just borderline insults students when they answer wrong or dont know what's going on. Takes a long time to respond to emails and rude when she does.

It has been less than a week in her class and it is already off to a bad start. Misgraded our first assignment and instead of emailing back and apologizing and fixing it, emailed back and was very rude and insisted that she just hadnt gotten around to grading it despite the gradebook saying it was graded. Has yet to fix HER mistake or admit it.

AVOID HER AT ALL COSTS! She doesn't even teach - her lectures are only 14 mins. Get ready to self-teach because she def doesn't (read 40 pgs per module aka per week). Horrible prof and very meticulous and specific on grading. Tests at each module (10 total).

I'm doing this halfway through the semester for the new students. Please do not take her. it's not worth it. This semester, I'm taking this class asynchronous. She takes points off of our tests for completing their last minute. Not after the due date, but last minute. Her 'lectures' are useless and she's changing the syllabus right now. yay.

For your sake, don't take Professor Buchalski. Our online class has had so many technical issues, our lectures are literally just her reading off of a PowerPoint, and her grading is all over the place. You are basically teaching yourself and you don't learn anything. She is nice but she teaches like a high school student doing a presentation.

DO NOT TAKE HER! She doesn't discuss any material in class, she messes up grading constantly, & is argumentative when you try to discuss it. She told everyone not to email her, but when we try to talk to her in class she tells us to email her. claimed her grader was changing our grades to 0s & its not her fault. worst class I've taken by FAR. run.

RUN WHILE YOU CAN! I didn't learn anything in this class. I participated in her roleplay activities every class which were entertaining but were also offensive and made no sense. She called me derogatory things in roleplay. If you try to clarify learning objectives she acts like your crazy and says that wasn't what she was trying to say.

This professor quite literally gave us less than the bare minimum. She never proofread anything she sent out, always had issues giving us credit for our 3 assignments, and never took accountability for her mistakes. When you had to read the book it was just as confusing as the class. Do not take, waste of money.

She is a really good person, but horrible professor. She only reads what is in the presentation, you can hear her mouth closing while talking and breathing. Her lectures where boring because she only reads what you already have.

This professor is very sarcastic! When she makes a mistake in her content instead of acknowledging it she is condescending. While for the most part the class was decent the grading was very nit picky She is not accommodating what so ever unless it's a life or death situation so be aware

(online class) The work is easy and fast to do however her layout on blackboard was confusing. She is a very picky grader. Ignore any of her typos. The videos we had to watch were pretty outdated and the assignments were out of order as well. Some of her announcements came off a little condensing. Easy class though, terrible professor.

Responds very late and unclear of assignments

Maybe it's because I did this class over the summer, but jeez was this class absolutely horrific. Even though all the lectures were uploaded onto Blackboard, you still had to read the $80 textbook word for word in order to do well on the exams.

Terrible professor - seems to not care about her students' success in the course. Continuously sends emails from her other classes and confuses assignment due dates. Speaks highly of herself and condemns students for asking for course materials or for having general questions; she has too great of an ego for a subpar learning experience.

STAY AWAY! The class is easy but the professor is unbearable! She is a walking contradiction and is a very passive aggressive person. Often times, her lectures have nothing to do with the actual class, so you don't learn anything. She's not a terrible person, just the way she teaches is terrible.

She is hard to reach and when you email her about a problem she doesn't help. Her grammar in these emails doesn't make sense and she chooses to leave short answers to an email about assignment problems and doesn't help you solve the issue. DON'T TAKE HER!!!

I would only recommend this class if you're interested in group discussions/interactions and receiving feedback. Not a whole lot of work so assignments are easy so far. Dr. B can come off very passive aggressive so be advised when participating in class discussions. Would not recommend.

Very condescending person. Thinks way too highly of herself for someone who is not a real doctor. She has a J.D but somehow thinks she's more competent and educated than real psychologists in the department. Beware, she LOVES to talk about how much of an empath she is but real "empaths" shouldn't feel the need to say it. Her grammar is also subpar.

This was a very easy class to pass as long as you attend the mandatory lectures. Not worth the easy A, she will belittle you, she never takes the blame, very condescending. If you have a question about the assignment she will question your intelligence, then say it's because she's an honest person. Don't recommend if you have trouble with English.

At first glance, she might appear caring and empathetic, but after several conversations, it's clear that's just a facade. As a psych student who's talked with other professors in the department, I've found that none hold her in high regard. She frequently boasts about her past roles, which comes off as arrogant and overly self-important.

Uses the Socratic Method but very condescending when you don't say the right thing. CONSTANTLY messed up the grading, when you talk to her about it she's passive aggressive. Doesn't really give directions for anything, hard to figure out what she wants you to do. Assignments are group discussions and role plays. Didn't learn anything from lectures.

To be honest, Prof. Buchalski is the worst professor I have had at UTSA. The class itself is pretty easy as long as you read the textbook, but her condescending attitude and disorganized class structure makes it unbearable. Prof. is extremely misogynistic, and presents stats to the class that are untrue and misinforming. I warn you to stay away.

This is the weirdest professor I've ever had she's oddly condescending and passive-aggressive plus she does nothing besides talk about herself in a weird bragging way. Her class had little to no structure so it was an easy A but it's not worth having to deal with her. Choose literally anyone else.

I took professor Buchalski three separate times and I could not tell you anything I've learned. She's very interesting because she often asks redundant questions that don't relate to the course. You won't learn anything from her just take another course.

Genuinely a terrible professor, had her for multiple classes easy A but she's incredibly rude and you will want to pull your hair out from her rambling about nothing. Best part of any of her classes is the groups that also despise her teaching.

Very unstructured and just brags about herself, which most of it sounds like lies she's also very passive aggressive and not available outside of class her lectures drag on and are often pointless super easy A but wouldn't recommend at the cost of mental health. She's very draining to be around would never recommend her. You won't learn anything

Completely wasted my time and money being in her class. Genuinely was excited to learn, but it didn't seem like she was knowledgeable of the subject because of the repetitive lectures.Most of the grades consisted attending classes on days she felt like lecturing and group presentations. Nothing in the class was organized and no syllabus.

Reconsider taking this professor she lacks communication, her lectures are awful, instructions & rubrics are unclear, and has her students grade that will deduct points for the most absurd things. Also, she deletes lectures/notes so make sure to save them for hw and essays. Most important, be prepared to write essays each week, from 1-4 pages each

She has no clue what she is doing and is not tech-savvy at all. Impossible to get 100 percent in this class due to grading errors and assignments not showing up.

Professor was extremely unprofessional, sent emails with large amounts of spelling or grammatical errors. Emails would go without responses either for very extended periods or without one at all. Completed assignments would be removed entirely leading to grade drops.

This class was a waste of time. She had no syllabus, no assignments, no clear instructions/ lectures. She's rude and judgmental towards her students despite her rule- don't judge others. Any class with this professor is a waste of money. Her lectures are repetitive. She's a very cool person just an unorganized and lousy professor. AVIOD taking her.

Ok listen, I try to not listen to reviews on here a lot because I try to remain open minded. But please TRUST ME. Do not take this course if you don't wanna listen to pure yap the whole time. You go in, expecting to learn something, and leave more confused than when you entered. I do not understand where the school found this professor. RUN. (fr.)

Her background in criminal (in)justice is evident by how she antagonizes students like felons, projects her "superiority", and treats her opinion as law instead of teaching through evidence-based materials. Prepare to be psychoanalyzed by this self-proclaimed "empath". If you care about psychology as field I do not recommend taking Dr. Buchalski.
