Overly obnoxious and incredibly irritating. He spends at least 10 minutes of each class talking about his sex life. Class isn't hard but a lot of work 5 pages of notes each class and 3 chapters of material different from the notes on the test.

Dr Beck is a hilarious man. Majority of the mass lecture time is spent w/ him telling stories he's acquired over the years of bein a psychologist. Always has a story to relate to material. Makes going to class enjoyable. Gives good notes and knows his stuff. I would recommend him!!

Dr. Beck is really funny, but also really ****ed. His tests are pretty difficult and unpredictable.

Beck is a good guy and you will learn a lot from his lectures. His tests can be tough, as he expects you to read the book in addition to taking lecture notes, but if you skim the chapters and pay attention, you'll do fine. Plus, he always lets you out early from his 5:30-8:30 class!

GREAT professor.Wednesday night is the best time to have the class..you always get out early.Study your notes,do the online quizzes,study guides,extra credit,and go to class..you'll definitely earn at least a B.

Fun guy, straightforward with lectures and always includes entertainment in class. Tests are application problems that can be confusing and difficult, just have to do a lot of reading in the text.

Very very funny guy, makes class interesting and relevant to the real world. Very entertaining and really intelligent, you will learn a lot from this guy. He does have a serious side though and if you really have a problem or need help you can absolutly go to him,one of a kind professor.

Funny teacher. His lectures are good, he relates psychology to the real world. He does expect you to read the text and on tests there is material he doesn't talk bout during class time. Skim the chapters and do the study guide and you will be fine.(since he did write the study guide its almost the same type of questions on the test)

Dr. Beck keeps you alive the entire class. Most of the stories that he gives in class become the test questions on the exams. Make notes on his stories...they are very relevant to the topics and usually become situational questions on the exams. Its one class that I actually look forward to.

Good psych prof...very colloquial style, very familiar speaking and teaching style. Easy A if you go to class. Funny guy, and very bright.

Beck's classes are entertaining and informative. He is very funny, and always helpful in explaining any questions that students have.

He's strange but in a interesting way. He use to scare me with his teaching style but its an overall good class. Not my forte but its fun to see that amount of energy in the morning.He likes to show music videos before class.

Dr. Beck is an awesome professor. He uses power point for all his lectures and makes jokes very frequently throughout the class. The tests are all multiple choice from the book and lecture so being in class is kind of important but he makes it a lot of fun

I loved this class! Dr. Beck is an amazing prof. who relates to his students, keeps his class interesting, and makes you feel like you're just hanging out and he's telling you stories rather than being in the middle of a lecture! The tests come from his lectures and the book, so read the book and go to class! Its worth it!

I would reccomend Dr. Beck to anyone. The only thing that I didn't like about this class was that the tests are very hard. Make sure you read both the notes and read the book before taking tests.

Beck is the best. Despite the fact of my class being at night, he made time go by enjoyably and I never had a hard time following what he was saying. He makes you want to be involved in the class. The tests are in application form, but if you take a little extra time to read the problem through, you'll do just fine.

This man is amazing! He uses so many interesting videos/case studies and personal experiences in his lectures that he will keep you entertained all semester. He made me want to become a psych major because of the interesting material he presented and how he presented it. Tests arent bad as long as you skim the book and study notes from the lecutre

THIS GUY IS THE MAN! I loved going to class because he's such a great guy. So funny and informative. Don't pay attention to people warning about tests being hard. A lot of the questions are taken from the study guide/book. DONT JUST STUDY THE NOTES! Take this guy you wont regret it!

Fun class, but not easy. He seems like he's nice and it'll be easy, but it's just as hard as any other class. As long as you study you should be fine though. Still a pretty good dude though.

Dr Beck is hilarious! His test are hard but if you know your notes and study the vocab in the book you will do fine! He also offers extra credit almost every week! Overall one of my favorite professors thus far in my college career!

Awesome guy. His tests are simply that...tests. Not hard, not overwhelmingly easy. Makes class worth going to, and offers immense outside help, regardless of requesting it. Stays on topic and uses fun, clever examples. I would recommend him to anyone.

If you think Dr. Beck is extremely hard, I suggest you drop out of college. Intro to Psychology is probably the easiest class you can take at the university. All you have to do is read and show up to class.

Beck is hysterical. Fun and entertaining, which was good because I had him for three hours. Gave us a break and let us out early. Tests were challenging but only because I didn't read the text. Read it and study your notes and you should be fine! I really learned alot and wish I was still a Psych major so I could take more of his classes!

Real funny guy. I had his 3 hour lecture and he always let us out an hour early. Made me literally LOL with all his jokes and stuff. One bad thing is you actually have to read the book to do good on the tests. If you put a little work in you'll be good though.

I LOVED DR. BECK!! Was so funny and made a 3 hour lecture go so stinking fast! Plus he let us out early everytime. The only downside was that you HAVE to read the textbook in order to do good on his tests. He's a blast and I def. would take him!

Beck is one of the most entertaining professors that i have ever had. He is very loud and exciting. He made my 3 hour class go by very quick. The class itself is a little difficult but if you listen and read the book you'll do just fine!

Keeps things interesting, curses a lot but knows how to relate to students so they can understand and remember information. If you read the chapters and your notes you will pass with a decent grade. In my opinion, my favorite prof at bloomsburg thus far.

I took Psych with Dr. Beck during a 6 wk. summer session and he was extremely easy. I'm not sure why everyone says you have to read a bunch and the tests are hard. I got a 98% and never studied at all. I just came to class and listened! Great teacher, really funny, knows his stuff.

Dr. Beck is the best prof. makes class topics very relate able. would take him again in a heartbeat. if you dont know how to do application questions then you wont like his exams but they arent hard if you know what your talking about and DO NOT IGNORE THE BOOK. gives you lots of extra credit oppurtunites. love his class!

One of the funniest guys I have ever met! A class that you will actually enjoy an learn from even if you hate psychology! You are only graded on tests but if you go to class, pay attention, and take notes you should do great! Take this class!

Beck is a cool funny guy but he really doesn't care about you or your grade. The material is interesting and not that difficult. But, he does not change his final even if he misses four classes so there may be stuff on it you never even learned.

Dr. Beck is a very funny, outgoing teacher. Sometimes he's not totally clear but the online textbook is always there for the left out notes. Tests are just like the review questions from the book and there's only four (I think) with many extra credit opportunities.

Dr. Beck is a great professor. His lectures match up exactly with the course kit that he wrote himself. Most of the content on tests are on the study guide. He makes class very interesting humor. His class was one of the reasons i switched my major to Psychology!

It is a shame to have Dr. Beck's class. You do not get to experience him in a small class, and really connect to him. Teaching to about 250 students at a time doesn't let you have that one on one time. He is funny, witty, and a heck of a professor. I think he would be perfect for a class of 40. It would be a class I would take over and over again.

Beck is super funny and an awesome guy, but his tests are a bit tough for the course. If you study the review questions and actually read the book, you'll do fine. He has to be the best teacher i ever had ! always cracks jokes but are always related to the topic and we play little mind games in our psych class as examples on how the mind moves and works. Powerpoints are awsome and online as well as the textbook . just study for the tests because they're tricky and not the norm.

Dr. Beck is an awesome professor, and he's a riot! The lectures go by fast, and the tests aren't bad, either. He gives extra credit, too. Even though psych isn't my thing, I really enjoyed the class which no other professor has ever achieved. I wish I had him as a professor again since I will miss having his class. I had Dr. Beck for a 6-9 class. With any other professor I would have dreaded going to this class, but Dr. Beck made me want to go. His lectures can sometimes get a little boring. Take notes on what he says in class. No homework. Some extra credit if you stay after tests. For the tests, STUDY THE COURSE KIT. Test questions are right from the kit.

Dr. Beck has been my favorite professor during my time here so far. He makes you want to go to his lectures, because he is so hilarious it's enjoyable. Study a little bit and pay attention (DO THE COURSEKIT) and you'll love this class. Sometimes I get the urge to go to his classes still just to listen to how funny this guy is, even though I passed.

Mr. Beck was hilarious but also very frustrating. He was a nice guy but his notes were awful and i never knew what I should study for his exams. Make sure you read the text book. I honestly learned nothing. I care about school and grades but he wasn't organized and didn't give a lot of guidance.

The textbook is online and must be bought! It would be impossible to pass this course without the textbook. The lectures usually run about 2.5 hours instead of 3. The lectures don't cover everything in the book so you must read it. The book is an easy read. Teacher is fun. Tests are hard but do the practice tests from the book.

Dr. Beck is my favorite teacher at Bloomsburg. He is hilarious and gives out a lot of extra credit. I'm a psychology major so I would automatically find his class interesting, but he keeps his students awake and engaged. If you could choose your general psych professor, I highly recommend Beck!

Dr. Beck made a class that all freshman dread taking, fun! He's hilarious and gives you ton of extra credit chances. He doesn't pressure you to come to class, he puts it in your hands. He's always in a good mood and is always making jokes. Gives you a break in between the 3 hours and usually lets you out 30 min early. I loved his class!

Had the 6-9 lecture, always got out a half hour early and had a 10 min break. Textbook covers topics on exams he doesn't mention much about in lecture. Offers at least 6 extra credit chances. Funny but also explains everything well. Does not give out + and -, only A, B, C, D, and F. Has TA's hold exam reviews the week of the exam which helped.

He's a very helpful and good professor. If you want to get an A you have to study and go to the lectures. He gives plenty of chances for extra credit so stick around after exams. He's entertaining and funny and I recommend him highly.

Easy class as long as you complete all the extra credit and READ THE COURSEKIT. I can't say that enough since the entire course is based on this. Basically a waste of time to go to the lectures when he repeats exactly what is in the online book. Exams can be hard/wordy with info that I've never seen but study as much as possible. TEST HEAVY!!

He is the type of professor that you either love the way he teaches or hate it. I personally loved this class. Having a class from 6:30-9:30 is a pain and it is hard to get yourself to go especially if it isn't mandatory, but he made the class enjoyable and I was always happy I attended class.

You can easily get an A in this class as long as you study the coursekit. Beck made the coursekit, too, so it's entertaining to read. Beck is HILARIOUS and even though you can get an A without showing up to class, his lectures are so funny and interesting that you'll want to attend anyway. Tests are decently hard! you MUST study!! class is "optional" because he doesn't take attendance but if you don't go you will fail. Plus you'll miss out on a fun time!

Dr. Beck is hilarious I never had an issue listening to his lectures. He only gives tests, but as long as you go to class and read the textbook it is easy! Love him the most 10/10.

This guy is hilarious. The course kit (basically an online textbook) you need for the course is $100, so prepare for that. You are only graded by tests, and there are only 30 questions on them, so STUDY. Go to class and read the course kit, DO THE PRACTICE QUESTIONS. That was the most effective way I studied and memorized the material.

Dr. Beck is a fairly good professor who is very funny and cares a lot about his students. If you or a friend are having any sort of mental health issue, he will help point you towards the right direction.
