Great class. Very informative. Dr. Curry is extremely helpful, seems to enjoy teaching, and does a very good job.
I took him for a summer judicial process course. We had three tests that were fairly easy. It was a lecture style type of class. Curry is easy to understand and helpful. He seemed interested in the subject, which always helps. I'd recommend him.

I took Judicial Process. We had one paper and three tests. You do not need the book. If you go everyday and take notes you will do well. I thought he was very interesting and nice. The paper is easy and the tests are multiple choice a few short answer and one essay.
Dr. Curry's class was awesome. He knows a lot about his subjects but doesn't force it all on you at once. If you have questions he'll find you an answer, even if he doesn't know it off hand. Tests are not super easy but are straight forward so if you have a brain you'll likely do fine. I would definitely take him again!
Knows a lot about the subject and does a great job at letting you get the info down. Take notes from his lectures and your guaranteed a least B. Great teacher.
Dr. Curry is a good professor. Attendance isn't mandatory, but it is recommended that you go to take notes on his lecture. Books are "required" but you can get an A without opening them if you take good notes throughout the semester. 3 tests and 1 paper, tests are MC, Identification, and essay (tells you what he will ask before the test)
Dr Currie is a great guy, very knowledgeable in this area.Lecture style class,no powerpoints.3 tests-mc,short answer,essay.1 short paper. Showed a couple of movies, pretty laid back class. Attendance not mandatory, but there are questions on test that relate to class discussion. Review your notes, you should do fine.
I'm taking his summer Judicial Process class now. You don't need the book. Go to class and take good notes and you will be fine. He is really clear on what to take notes on. Nice guy. Take this class!
Easy class. Some questions are pulled from the reading. He makes the subject material interesting. He provided Study Guides for the tests which helped out a lot.
Dr. Curry is a wonderful professor. I took him over the summer and his test come straight from his lecture. If you take good notes and listen to certain names of people in class then you should fine.Dont buy the book. I got a B, but its very easy to get an A. Essay questions come from his lecture. Take him if you can!
Class is not mandatory and attendance was not taken once during the semester. He often lectures or shows powerpoints and the test questions will come straight from your notes. There are not many graded assignements, mostly tests in the class. There were only 4 tests and 1 quiz over the semester.
Upper division Con Law. Hardest class I've ever had at Georgia Southern and I'm a senior. Very detailed cases, extremely hard to study for. Attendance not mandatory, book is. Do not take unless mandatory for pre-law. Crim Justice students do not take, extremely difficult and notes are endless. 1 quiz, 3 exams, 1 writing assignment.
Great teacher--gives useful study ,guides and a little reading for the test though most test questions come from the notes...If you go to class you will get an A. He has also been known to give bonus points on a test if you are one of the few who actually show up on a friday.
Dr. Curry is really interested in the material he is teaching and very clear about what is important. All of the needed imformation is on the powerpoints besides the one or two questions from the texbook that are based on some of the diagrams. I hate gov which is the reason I have a B, but if I would have tried harder this class would be an easy a
The class involves memorizing a lot of information but you will learn so much. He lets you know exactly what you need to know. The multiple choice is very tricky; beware.
Dr. Curry is a great teacher, he knows his stuff very well. If you take notes, you should get an A. It helps to read the book.
Had him for Constitutional Law 2 this semester. Got an A. Pretty easy class. Very approachable. Made topics interesting. Very informative. Must study the cases ahead of time because they will pile up on you. Tests=multiple choice (hard) ids (majority of test), and hypothetical case. Tests were fair, but multiple choice was hard. Study!
This teacher will help you if you are nice. If you talk during his class he will back talk you! I only use the book to look up definitions (which he already provided during the lecture)so you don't need the book as long as you show up to class. He emphasizes things that will be on the test which is why I recommend him.
Prof. Curry is an awesome teacher. Provides great notes through his powerpoints. If you go to class and write down all the slides and study them verbatim you will do great on the tests. Super easy! Highly recommend if you're looking for an easy A/B!
Dr. Curry is a good professor. Only thing I did not like about this class was the PAGES AND PAGES of detailed notes that were taken. Then when it came to test time half of the information was not on there, so studying was always challenging because we were not told what was on the test. Other than that, very passionate & attendance not reguired.
Attendance is not required but 90% of tests come from in class materials. You must take notes or get them from someone in order to be successful. He is very monotone/boring, but overall very easy. He knows what he's talking about & can answer all questions. The class is big, so its hard to get personal, so just know your stuff and you'll be good.
Go to class! Though you may want to read the textbook to get some of the questions on the test, the majority come from the lecture. He doesn't take attendance, but you want to pass the tests. Your grade is only three tests and one quiz. I made an A, but I always went to class.
This teacher is great! Never opened the textbook once and made A's on all of the tests! However i did not miss one of his classes. Go to class and you will get an A
He is THE MOST BORING professor ever to listen to lecture. He honestly puts me to sleep. But, his tests are just like the notes you take in class and are very easy. He doesn't give much extra credit so try to do good on his tests and quiz.
Great class! Professor Curry likes to lecture for the entire class and have discussions about the material. As long as you take good notes and come to class, you will only have to crack open the book about twice. There are a lot of court cases to memorize but he goes over every single one in class with full background so it isn't hard. Take him!
Really enjoyed this class and am taking him again next semester for Con. Law 2. Dr. Curry lets you know what to expect for tests, and makes the class pretty easy. It's constitutional law, so obviously you have to know the cases. I didn't read the book, but would just follow his lectures. Expecting an A.
Dr. Curry is a great constitutional law professor. His lectures are long and somewhat boring, but if you take detailed notes, you can get an A without ever opening the book. There are no papers or quizzes, just the few tests, and they are very straightforward. I would definitely take him again.
Dr. Curry was amazing. Took him over the summer and his class was easy but very worth taking. His lectures are straight to the point and he does not ramble at all. He literally gets 100100 for his speaking skills because they are perfect. His class feels inviting, and he encourages questions. His lectures are short and to the point! Take him!
Tests are tough. This was my first B. Go to every class. I had an 89.3 and he wouldn't round it up. He was really boring too.
Professor Curry is a great professor! He loves what he does and is willing to help. Go to class and take good notes because test questions are straight from lecture notes. Also study for tests because there are only 3 and he offers no extra credit so you have to do well on tests. I hate american govt. but thought this class was pretty easy.
The tests are word for word off the power points. the only thing you need to know about this course is that notes are necessary, but he makes lectures easy to pay attention to, and they go by fast.
Dr. Curry gives really long, drawn out lectures. He is very knowledgeable about the topic, its almost like he knows to much. Class is easy if you go and take notes, i read text some but tests come almost directly from (a whole LOT) of notes. Overall not so bad.
Loved his class! Teaches government in a way that its almost like listening to a story. One quiz and three tests, I aced all of them studying the study guide and notes the night before. Would definitely take him again.
Not a terrible professor just extremely boring. He is very monotone and sounds like he puts himself to sleep sometimes. Take notes, all the quiz/test questions come from the powerpoints. Get ready to take a lot of notes and to be bored to death.
Dr. Curry is an amazing professor, he cares about his students and avoids being a pompous ass like some of the other professors here at GSU.
Professor Curry is a very boring teacher. He knows his material though. Pop quizzes are from the reading assignments. Test are multiple choice with short answer. Debating if I would take him again. Overall, on a scale of 1-10, he's a 4.
He's a great professor, he just tends to ramble on in his lectures. However, most of his test questions are from the notes so they aren't bad and he gives a study guide for the tests. The only bad part is, there are only 3 grades in the class which are the 3 test grades.
Very very very very boring. I never paid attention in class but I just wrote down what he would put on the powerpoint and studied all the notes for the test. The test questions come straight from the power points. I got an A all on three tests without paying attention in class but you NEED to go to class to get the notes.
Dr. Curry is a very knowledgeable professor. You can tell he is really interested in the government and politics. His lectures are good and his class has basically no work load. The one weird thing about the course is that its only about three tests (including the final exam) and a quiz. That's good if you're a good test taker, but horrible if not.
He seems like a nice guy but his lectures are SUPER boring. He makes no effort to change things up or interest students. There are 3 tests the whole semester and one quiz. No attendance. Not the teaching style for you if you don't like lecture halls and you're not a good test or note taker.
Professor Curry is awesome. 3 Tests total, few hw papers online. He is passionate about what he teaches and makes you actually interested in learning it. As long as you come to class and take notes his tests are an easy A. He relates confusing legal matters to everyday life to make them easy to grasp. DEFINITELY recommend he is a great teacher.
Curry's class is very lecture heavy- though you can follow along in the e-text if you miss class and be fine. There's one small book you have to read for class towards the end. A few quizzes and a couple tests and the final and that's it for grades. His lectures are interesting.
His class was a breeze. I passed all of his tests & quizzes with common sense alone. If you remember anything from history and government classes from high school, his class will be easy for you. He lectures a lot, but your grade won't suffer much if you miss a few classes.
This class is really easy for someone with any sort of interest in social studies. Attendance isn't mandatory but you can only get the lecture notes in class. His tests and quizzes aren't tricky as long as you do the minimal studying this class requires. His lectures are pretty clear cut and the tests and quizzes reflect them pretty well.
Professor Curry is a great teacher. He is very lecture heavy, but as long as you pay attention, the class is interesting and easy. He is very smart and knows a huge amount about American Gov. If you have the pleasure of taking his class, know that its a good class that you're going to go to.
He is passionate about teaching government. There are not a lot of quizzes or exams so every grade counts. Also almost all of the assessments come from the lectures and he will also note specific things that will appear on the exams in class.
Curry is a good guy. Lectures can be a tad boring, but just show up and take his notes and there's your A. His notes are and videos are 98% of all the tests. There is no homework either. Overall a great professor.
This was the easiest class I've taken at GSU. I bought the book but I never read it. All the information you need to know is in the powerpoint. Test and quizzes come straight from the notes. There is a small novel to read towards the end of the semester. Pretty easy class. PLEASE TAKE IT!
Awesome professor! He has a lot of lectures and videos. Every class is either a lecture or a video, but everything on the test is what he has discussed in class. Also, he gives study guides that reflect the test almost 100%.
His class has a lot of structure. The tests are just like what he discusses in class. Just showing up, taking notes and completing the hand outs will get you an A. I learned a lot and really enjoyed his class.
I made an A so its not impossible but you have to write down all of his notes. He has very few grades. 3 tests and 3 quizzes. He does 5 extra bonus points on the last test. He drops a quiz. You HAVE TO STUDY!!!
There are 3 exams and 3 quizzes, but only 2 quizzes actually count, he drops the lowest. Tests are easy if you actually study. There are a lot of questions from the quizzes in the tests, as well as video questions and answers. Attendance is not mandatory. Write down everything on the PPT slides and study them and you will do great! He's fun!
There are three quizzes and three tests, but he drops the lowest quiz. You dont need the textbooks at all. I never read them and passed. He genuinely cares about what he is teaching. There is an opportunity to get 5 bonus points in the end. Make sure you take good notes. Quiz questions are on tests and he goes over quizzes. Take him for an easy A.
If you show up and copy the power point then you're good to go. We have 1 quiz for every test and the lowest quiz grade is dropped. The tests are basically straight from the power point so they are pretty easy, but you just have to show up and copy it.
I was unable to succeed in this class, however many of the people around me were. I couldn't pay attention to class lectures. There are three tests, including the final which is not cumulative. There are 3 quizzes; but, the lowest one is dropped.
He is a good teacher and gives all the notes you need to pass however it is a ton of information with few questions on text and quizzes
Take a lot of notes or you won't pass. You have to write down whats on the powerpoints because thatsmost of the tests. theres a ton of info and he can ramble during lectures. cugrad assistants proctor during major tests
Drops the lowest quiz grade of the three, most of his tests already have study guides on Quizlet. I showed up to class only a handful of times and got a decent grade, just make sure to study the Quizlets.
Attendance not mandatory but he doesn't post slides so if you don't wanna read the book go to class to take notes. Only grades are a few quizzes and 2 tests and the final. No homework but that means if you get low B and high C on the tests/quiz you have nothing to help boost your grade. He passes out 4 different test versions. Lecture is boring.
Wasn't a fan of his lectures because I was so focused on writing all the text down couldn't really listen to him. Attendance isn't taken but definitely would go the notes are what's on the test. Some questions on test say "according to ur textbook" but you don't need to buy it. I did & regret it. He has clear grading criteria no EC but not hard
Professor Curry is decent. Lectures are long and boring- he doesn't post any notes so show up to class or have someone send them to you. Attendance is not mandatory at all. 3 exams and 2 quizzes is you overall grade. No extra points or extra credit.
Professor Curry is a great professor to take at Georgia Southern! His lectures are long and heavy and you'll have to be fast with the notes. If you don't show up to class, you'll have to find someone to send the notes to as he will not post them online. There's 3 quizzes (1 gets dropped) and 3 exams so make sure you do your very best! Recommended!
Honestly its an easy A. No homework, just studying. Hes very nice and considerate, answers any and all questions you have. He doesnt post his powerpoints online so if you dont show up to every class youll need to have someone send you the notes. Also, there are two books he asks you to buy but I didnt use either and got an A.
Prof Curry is an easy A. If you turn all your work in, correctly, and on time you should pass. That's what I did.
Professor Curry was so sweet. He was quick to respond to emails and answered any questions I had. The class has 3 main exams and are easy if you watch the videos provided each week. Doing the guided readings helped a lot too. I would recommend Professor Curry to anyone.
This class was super easy and organized. The textbook isn't helpful. Lectures are clear and straight to the point. He is accessible out of class. The quizzes and tests are easy. Highly recommend Mr. Curry.
Government can be a hard subject to keep your opinion out of, but he does it wonderfully. Very nice guy who knows what he's teaching very well and he's not a stickler about attendance or anything. I hated government in highschool but I really enjoy his class. Easy class if you show up to the lectures and take notes. Overall really great guy & class
Any class you can take with him, take it! He is so nice and enthusiastic, he makes lectures engaging, & was super understanding and lenient when needed. You still have to put in effort to make good grades but nothing is ever hard to learn or understand, and you'll leave this class having learned so much! I'd take all his classes if I could!
dropped one quiz. but only a few quizzes and tests are counted for final grade. quizzes have few questions so if you miss 2 , you don't pass. tests are hard as well. I do not recommend this professor.
Professor Curry's lectures were straight forward. I do wish he had more assignments. There are only 3 quizzes and 3 exams, so you don't really have cushion as far as your grade. He drops one quiz. He gives a study guide/outline with terms you need to know for the exams.
Prof. Curry is an excellent instructor. He is very clear on grading structure and drops the lowest one of each of the 4 quizzes, simulations, and tests. Tests are both lecture-heavy but also based on reading. He covers a good amount of the book in his lectures, and they are structured very well.
He is a very great lecturer and will answer questions diligently. However, he doesn't offer many grades and his finals have material that have never been elaborated on in his lectures. Make sure to take a lot of notes.
was a great professor! the test were very easy and 100% based on his study guides and in person lecture. Although attendance wasn't counted, you really have to show up to get a good grade on the tests. his homework was very easy and quick. his lectures can be boring and long but he's a nice guy and this class is an easy A
His lectures are super important it's actually all you go off of. I liked him a lot he was very nice and graded easy. Only negative is that we only got like 3 grades plus our exams. The exams are super hard and closed book. It took me a very long time to learn how to study for his class but I learned a lot. I had him for judicial politics.
Take him for american gov. his lectures are so boring but the test are easy take the test, and do the homework thats literally it and youll have an A
He is a nice guy but his exams are so hard. We get very few grades and no study guide or outline for tests. He expects us to remember weeks worth of lectures and Supreme Court cases and then makes the tests nothing like the notes. My first class I have studied for hours and made a failing grade.
Adored this professor. Incredibly helpful and kind, was super easy to reach if you needed him. Class was extremely easy, having open note and open book exams. Would drop your lowest quiz and simulation, but the quizzes were easy A's, and he's a very lenient grader. Everything he covers is in the textbook, but I loved going in person to lectures.
The only grades from this class were the weekly quizzes and the exams. If you do the readings and go to the lectures, you'll be fine-- even so, I skipped some lectures and was fine as long as I did the readings. Dr. Curry is incredibly knowledgeable and presents lectures very well.
Professor Curry is one of the best professors in the PoliSci department. He is very understanding and willing to work with you if you need it. There aren't many grades besides the writing assignments and exams, but they matched his lectures and were pretty easy if you attended class.
His class is so easy a toddler could pass. He makes it an absolute breeze. I had 2 homework assignments due per week and the tests are online, at home, NON proctored. Lectures are really chill. Absolutely amazing professor.
No joke: live, laugh, love Brett Curry. Amazing professor who is passionate about what he is teaching. I would (and am) take this professor again. While attendance isn't mandatory you will need to go to class to pass the exams. This course is graded over 4 exams and a paper. I implore you, take a course with Mr.Curry.
Dr. Curry is amazing—one of the kindest and most understanding professors I've had. He's incredibly knowledgeable and explains things thoroughly, especially in a class that can be somewhat complicated. He truly cares and makes sure everyone gets the help they need. Absolutely the best for this course!
I don't say this lightly but Curry was one of the best professors I've had on this campus. I would recommend anyone takes his class.
One of the best professors I have had. You knew exactly was expected of you and what his tests were going to be like. If you go to office hours he is glad to help with any questions you may have and is very nice and smart. You can tell he knows a lot about the stuff he lectures on. I took him for many classes and enjoyed them all.
His assignments were very straight forward. If you did your assignments, you are guaranteed to get a good grade on his tests. I would 100% take his class again.
Love this class
Very easy class! Professor Curry is a very nice man and his class is straight forward. About one online assignment a week but you have a week to do it. Attendance isn't mandatory but he does randomly take it for points. He drops your five lowest grades and only does four tests and they're all online. Would 100% take his class again.
His assignments are pretty much all the same, which is great. Makes it very easy to stay on top off. He is pretty straight forward with everything and I've had no trouble with him. Would take again.
The content itself can be tricky, but Dr. Curry makes it easier to understand. The best way to pass is to show up, take notes, ask questions, and study.
Not sure why reviews say exams are online. I had him in Fall '25 & all 4 exams (50 Qs) were in-class. Lectures were long and boring, and my highest exam grade was a 78. I had a 90 before the final, needed an 87 to keep my A, and made a 90 thanks to the study guide. InQuizitives, simulations, and attendance were easy but didn't boost grades much.
