Attendence is a must!!! Quiz's everday first 10 mins of class, and homework everynight and lots of it. It you take this Mr. Herren expect to spend at least two hours on hwk a night. On the up side he is a very sweet man, and a jerk. And if dont get something he is more than willing to help.

Mr. Herren is funny interesting and extremely helpful. He will go over a topic until he feels virtually everyone understands it. If not he will stay on that topic until you do. He does give out a good bit of homework but if you show up everyday it will be easy to burn through it all in about 15 min. I highly recommend him.

This wasn't a difficult class. If you did well in math 101, you'll do fine here. No textbook, you do all homework online. 2 quizzes a week, multiple choice exams, and cumulative final; worth 20% of your grade but it's not bad. Lectures are enjoyable and he's an easy going guy.

Brett Herren is a good teacher. Some times his class seems to be dragging on for-ev-er, but that was because the class I had him for was a 2 1/2 hour class. No text book, homework is done online with a relatively cheap costing program. He teaches the class to the slowest learner, so if your good at math you might be frustrated. Good Luck

This teacher is amazing! I have failed math my entire life and he made it very easy to understand. If you're already good at math, the class might feel a little slow to you but if you're like me, I highly recommend him. He is very lighthearted and interesting to listen to. You can tell he enjoys teaching. I plan on taking his Math 103 this summer.

Herren a Great teacher. He has a simply grading system. Class uses Mathxl for Homework which cost about $50. He allows you to retake a test once if you didn't get the grade you want. Going class is Mandatory if you trying pass the class with A. i highly recommend if your not the best in math

Mr. Herren is not an easy teacher. His practice tests are similar to his exams, but he will usually put a tricky question or two in there. He is the type that will give you theory on concepts. If that is how you learn math best, I recommend him. Unless you've had 5A before it will be a major challenge to do well over summer.

Mr. Herren is an awesome teacher. He makes things very simple and also has is own way of making you remember things. He gives you a chance to do makeup test for every test and gives extra credits on tests if you do good on homework and attendance. He understands how important it really is to understand the math now so you can later in next classes

He is very nice, But really hard at the same time. His test are really hard and your grade based on the exam only there are 4 total exams and final and homework only work about 1.5% of your overall grade, it is long homework. He gives study guide but it looks smilar but hardder questions. Good Luck if you are going to take calculse with him.

Mr Herren is a really good teacher, and makes a point of making sure you understand the concepts. Probably a good bet if you're weak on math. Be warned though: Most of your grade comes from your exams (you do get 1 retake for every one), and he docks a few %'s off your next exam for every day you miss. Herren was one of the first professors I had that managed to make trig and pre-calc concepts clear. He really knows his stuff, but you have to pay attention and work hard. Online hw crucial. Don't fall behind, it will be very difficult to catch up points-wise. Summer course went VERY fast.

He is very straight forward in the way he presents the material.3 exams, a final, and online HW in which you get unlimited attempts.The only thing harsh for most students is if you miss a day of class,you will be docked 2% on your next exam for every day missed.So 3 days of class missed is minus 6% on exam.

Mr. Herren was great at breaking down hard concepts to where the entire class can understand. He does not really use all the math jargon that most math classes use instead he uses words that he thinks you will remember. "toaster". Overall the course was simple as long as you did the homework and asked questions.

BEST MATH PROFESSOR I've ever taken over my college career. I wish I took my previous math classes from him. He is so thorough with explaining and making sure class understood that we were always running out of time. He relies on tests than quizzes and hw, so study real hard for his tests. He has officer hours and if you attend his office hours he will explain in detail to help you understand what you don't. FCC needs more teachers like him. he's always running out of time but he's a good professor. the practice tests were similar to the tests. the hw was on mathxl. attendance IS mandatory. if you spend 15 hours at tutorial center you get 15 extra credit points (2.3%). he will not give any extra points. whatever you get is what you get. he will not help raise your grade at all.

He was the best math teacher ever he had youtube lectures that include everything you need to pass the class with A, which was a real class that he taught last semester. he was available through email and office. HW and test are very close but tests occupy 70% he would put up a new lecture mostly weekly for online students problems on HW and Quizes

Loved him. He is easy to talk to and is very straight forward. He is really funny as he teaches math. I took him over the summer and never got bored of his class as I see. him everyday in the morning. He allowed us to have one index card in every test with notes on it and calculator. There is also one redemption test if you failed a test.

Mr. Herren was amazing! I took Math 3A online in the summer, he was very helpful. I had a week of slacking off and bombed an exam. He didnt say this but he your final exam replace your lowest exam score. No extra credit. The practice exams reflect the real exams as well. Do the homework and you will pass.

I have not always liked or been very good at understanding math, but professor Herren was outstanding. He met each person where they were at and made sure they were understanding the concepts and terms. He made math, impossibly, seem less daunting and complicated. He is an amazing instructor.

I took this class online over summer. He has 2 kinds of homework: Lecture homework that he extensively breaks down and homework you do on your own. He makes himself very available for help. Offers zoom class to attend. You are allowed a page(front and back)of notes on tests. His videos are the key to success. Do the work and you'll get an A.

I took Math 3A online during the summer. He is a great professor that is willing to help his students! Your grade heavily depends on the exams but he allows you to use notes. In order to pass this class: pay attention to his pre-recorded lecture videos, complete your homework every night, and go over the practice exams several times.

Herren obviously enjoys teaching, and is easy to reach out to if you need help. He offers zoom lectures M-F for upcoming hw, and also records how to solve certain concepts that you can refer to later. There is a lot of homework, but you can do it whenever you want, essentially making your own schedule. No matter where you look, help is available!

Was 2% away from passing but had to drop for covid reasons. Math has always been hard for me, but Herren is the best. Lecture him going step by step over for the easy HW. This really does help you understand. He provides exam notes that are helpful. There is an exam every 2-4 weeks. He is super caring, non-judgemental and wants you to pass.

I am currently taking Professor Herren for a summer class and although the homework is everyday, there are helpful videos with each question and infinite tries until you learn the material. I was worried how this class was going to go but as long as you put in the effort, his videos are extremely helpful in explaining the material and how to solve.

Amazing summer course. Despite the strenuous homework load, he provided videos for every homework question that accurately described how to solve the problems. He is very active and willing to reach out for office hours if you need them. Practice exams are just like the test, so study and you should do fine.

I absolutely loved this class, Professor Herren definitely made statistics quite enjoyable and interactive! I was one of the few students to first experience Professor Herren's Stat's honors class. The Homework had unlimited attempts and quite easy. While the exams were based on the chapter concepts, although a little tough, I felt well prepared.

This professor was amazing! I told him I was transferring from community college to UC Berkeley the day of our final. I needed to pass so I told him my situation and said I needed a C to pass that way I can transfer. I passed his class with a C and I don't know if I was responsible for a good grade or he helped me. I went to UC Berkeley 2016.

I find that he does go on tangents inside of the lectures, and sometimes he can go over things in so much unneeded detail, but other than that his class was crazy easy. He gives pre-made notes for the upcoming exams, and they are really good and very detailed! Overall a good class but I hope he doesn't stray away from class time in the future.

The practice exams were incredibly helpful—not only were they extra credit, but they were also very similar to the actual exams. Highly recommend!

Very straightforward class and Prof. Herren is literally amazing! Willing to provide extra help and is very caring when I needed some time off to focus on my health! Each late assignment is worth half credit and if those accumulate you'll start to see a grade difference! Open note exams! Extra credit (exam reviews)! Accessible outside office hours!

I took him for elementary stats and he is my all time favorite. Just take his class and show up regularly.

I really enjoyed Mr. Herren's class. He was an amazing and understanding professor plus he wants you to truly succeed. He offers tutoring personally to students in need and he also gives retake exams if you didnt do well the first time. The only catch is he doesn't offer extra credit on the retake because he wants you to succeed the first time.

I love Mr. Herren's teaching style. His enthusiasm inspires me to engage in math like never before. Trigonometry is challenging, but becomes manageable with his guidance. He's available during office hours/Zoom for help to have a better understanding of the material. His supportive approach a collaboration in the classroom, and I love his class.

I took this class over the summer which was soul sucking and took my joy away. Herren himself is a very chill professor and was incredibly helpful.

He is a great teacher and genuinely wants everyone to learn and to pass the class. He can ramble sometimes in his videos and overexplain but some of us need it I guess. Exams needed to go through a recording proctoring app. They were open notes and if you practiced similar questions you will be able to translate the concepts. Allowed one retake.

Great professor! I took Stats C1000 with this professor. Great teaching and offer a lot of helpful sources even he would always offer to help with tutoring via zoom or in person at school. The homework was good, and practice exams were good as well. Each questions have a video showing how to do the problems, which I think is great.
