I have always hated english but Ms.Stevens made this class very easy and understandable. Also, she has a great sense of humor! I think I'm actually getting better at writing for once in my life. She takes a while to return graded papers, but is not a hard grader at all. Excellent teacher!

Ms. Stevens is an awesome teacher. She really reaches out to her students and makes everyone feel welcome. She gives as much help as needed and is really funny! Take her class even if you hate English, you'll love it!

She pays attention to what you say and no matter how abstract it is she always finds a way to tie it in to her lecture. Very respectful of her students' opinions. And has a sense of humor, too!

Until I had her, I hated english and always had a hard time writing good papers. She makes the class fun and is very helpful. She is a tough grader, but I waqs able to get my first A ever in english! Even with long essays, she helps you , step by step so no one falls behind., and has in class workshops. She is the best english teacher ever!! :)

i LOVED this teacher... she knows HOW to teach and loves to teach. she is pretty much just a normal teen like all of us but @ the same time she loves her job. ALWAYS there to help u, reviewed my essays before i had to turn them in, VERY encouraging in class. NEVER miss out. i had her in the summer and i honestly enjoyed the 10:30 am class.

Everything you read is true. Prof. Stevens is an excellent teacher, and very helpful when you have any difficulty. Before this class, I have struggled with structured English. Her zany style and unique examples create a positive environment for learning. She's one Irish accent from way hot!

I hated English classes until I had Brigha. She is awsome. I took 2 english classes that I needed with her and I had the best experience of my life. In one word, she is a human being. She does not expect more of you than you can do. Also, she changes due dates depending on how comfortable students are turning in an essay. I highly recommend her!

Love Briagha! I've always despised English. I got a D in my last English class and dreaded taking another one, but she's amazing. She explains everything perfectly and tells you exactly what to do to get the grade you want. Attendance is important & you do have to do the work, but this will be the first "A" in English in a long time for me!

Wonderful professor. This professor allows you to learn and grow in your writing by allowing you to revise and then getting feedback on your revision. Wonderful teaching style, learned so much by her method - definitely grew as a writer. This class is well worth the work.

Take this professor! You won't regret it! She was very clear in her instructions on assignments and allowed many times to revise them. If you put the time in to revise your papers, you won't get less than an A. Overall, this class was great, with an even better teacher!

I took her English 1B class at Sierra, and I can't stress this enough: she is ALL ABOUT writing your essay once, going over it, fixing and re-writing it, then at the end of the class writing it one more time, after more revision of course. She is nice enough and helpful, doesn't always allocate enough time to in-class assignments, but overall good.

I took ENG1A and I learned a lot from her. She is serious about it and made the class very interesting. To excel in this class one must reciprocate. I recommend her to students who are seriously working for their future.

Steven's is a fantastic teacher! She's very entertaining because she's so random. Attend class and you'll do great. She's easy you don't even have to attend class lol. She allows you to revise your essays a ton! Sometimes even allows late work. Take her if you want a fun teacher. I would take her again for 300 but shes not teaching it next sem ;(

Before I had this teacher I hated English and I had such a hard time writing but after taking bria's class I have alot better understanding on how to wrote. She listens to all your questions and helps you out so much and she also has a really good sense of humor which made her class just that much more enjoyable.

Great lectures! Helps you understand the material. Has you write 3 essays. You revise each essay 2 times, First in groups, then she looks at it, and third time is your final draft. Your final is your last essay. Her quizzes are on grammar, which is very easy. Her handouts and homework is a piece of cake. You receive extra credit opportunities too!

she is very clear when she speaks and takes time to make sure all students understand what the subject at hand is.

I LUV LUV her!!! She makes "boring writing" very exciting!! She's so animated; you wouldn't want to miss her classes otherwise you'll miss out on some good and fun education

She is a great professor! Very easy to understand and very interesting to listen to! Very easy class, I learned a lot in this class. She's okay with you coming in late or leaving early if you talk to her(WHICH IS GREAT IF YOU HAVE A FAMILY). Also loves Diet Pepsi! Fun, interesting, interactive class! TAKE IT!!:)

Prof Steven's method of teaching is to get you to revise revise revise. You will keep working on your papers multiple times and turn them all in at the end. It is a little nerve wracking having all that work saved up like that but you should have a good idea of where you stand based on your work leading up to the final portfolio. She's amazing.

I highly recommend taking her. There are 3 essays total, some in class response papers, very light reading, and no homework. Plus she gives you clear instructions & plenty of time for assignments. Her classes are fun too- she's upbeat, energetic and hilarious. I already considered myself to be a good writer & I have learned so much more from her.

I took her over the summer for a 3hr class and class time flew by. She's big on revisions so 3 papers and at the end of the semester she collects a portfolio to grade . Even though it's officially graded it at the end ,if you want help on your papers you need to ask and she's so helpful! The class picks a play to read and she picks the main book .

Briagha is the best! I took her Engrw 102 class a few semesters back, and I loved it. She's funny, smart, and she taught me how to improve my already pretty good writing. We had a few quizzes, but no tests, just a final portfolio. If you show up to class you'll pass. Fingers crossed that she's teaching 301 over the summer.

Professor Stevens is by far the most AMAZING English teacher that you will ever get. English Writing 300 seemed to have went by too fast because Bria was such a phenomenal teacher. There was an assigned book but we only read a few chapters, there's no quizzes, but be prepared to write ALOT. Revisions are big in this class. Solid 10/10.

Prof Stevens is an amazing teacher. If I could take her for all my English classes I would. She is a fair grader, gives really helpful feedback for papers, and you turn in multiple drafts of a paper and get credit for each step on the writing process.

If you are intimidated by writing, I definitely recommend taking writing with this Professor. She is very passionate, caring, and understanding. She really opened my eyes about the writing process and made me a better writer. There were 3 papers, and a portfolio due at the end. Papers are graded at the end of the semester with portfolio.

Professor Stevens is truly one of the nicest professors when it comes to teaching. She teaches students with enthusiasm and passion. She inspires students to pursue their careers and makes sure they have a solid foundation for writing. Revision is the key to her class so if you master that you will be headed for a great grade.

Briagha is one of the best English professor who will lead you to become a professional writer. she spends time with everyone in the class and go through the entire page word by word to fix the mistakes a student makes in writing. take any writing class with her you will love it.

Professor Stevens has a very lively personality so I actually enjoyed her class. Kind grader. Textbook is used for easy one page response papers-pdf can be found online. Usual class consists of discussions and reviewing essay structure/revisions. Follow grading criteria and you'll pass.

Prof Bria is AWESOME! She is so lively and energetic! The class is easy and enjoyable. 50% of the grade comes from just completing stuff, turning it in on time and following the formatting instructions. The quality of essays make the rest 50% of the grade. Main emphasis is on revising the essays using her and your peers' comments. JUST LOVED HER!!!

I loved the teaching style of this class. 1st Rough draft, then peer revision, 2nd rough draft, teacher revises it, then final draft turned in at the end of semester in portfolio of all essays. Great lecturer and detailed. Definitely easy to get an A.

Professor Stevens is hands-down the best professor ive ever taken. Shes extremely flexible and keeps the class nice and entertaining. Will not drop for not showing up to class but does send an email just to check up on you. I did not put in a lot of effort until the end and passed with a B- otherwise if you keep up with the work its an easy A!

Stevens has to be my favorite professor of all time. Her lectures were always fun and interesting, therefore easy to understand and learn. She's there with you every step of every assignment, which is very helpful to some students. She's the type of professor to make you enjoy writing and inspire you to want to dig deeper in your writing.

Prof. Stevens was a great professor. Her teaching skills are A1. She always made sure to give us enough explanations/instructions to complete assignments but she was a tough grader. Any late assignment was 50% max and theres a lot of partner work. Her deductions on assignments were unclear/hard to understand but overall I would take her class again

Stevens is so nice and understanding. If you have the opportunity the take her class, take it up. She cares about what you have to say and actually considers it.

I took Professor Stevens for ENGWR300 back in the Fall of 2021. The class was online, as it was a dual-enrollment course. However, Professor Stevens always gave clear instructions and criteria for each of her assignments. Therefore, the assignments were always manageable, but if you were struggling, she would be more flexible with deadlines.

Wonderful professor understanding, and really supportive, clear in grading and in explaining assignments.

Stevens is probably one of the best English teachers and is super understanding when it comes to a late work. Communicate the reason why an assignment might be late and she is amazing.

Overall good class. One thing to be aware of is to look at the rubrics. I lost a lot of points due to formatting mistakes.

Professor Stevens is an excellent English professor. Her explanations for assignments are very clear and easy to follow. She responds to emails quickly and is always helpful with any questions. I love her system of exchanging essays and writing reviews. She is kind, supportive, and makes learning enjoyable.

This professor is a fine English teacher to take, however if taking in summer the class is fast. Portfolio is worth 50% of the grade while the essays are worth around 30%. She graded the portfolio without a rubric and doesn't explain what grade she gives. Therefore, the portfolio feels biased, have a high grade before the portfolio as a buffer.
