“He teaches you calculus”
MA191 - 5.0 rating“Does not explain well, hardly teaches, he has the students teach the class, no homework, does not explain what is on the exams, says to study questions he made for the exams, but if you ask him if they will be on the exam he says no, does not use the book, he is very nice but a terrible teacher”

He's one of the Best teachers I've ever had. I enjoyed his class and was well prepared for my future math courses
TERRIBLE TEACHER! he trys to do nothing but trick u with pointless math word problems. u learn nothing about math itself and don't get anything substantial to help u with your future out of his class in the long run
Do not take his class if you are not looking for somewhat of a challege. Like the previous commenter said, he does try to trick you on tests, which in my opinion does not really "teach" you at all. Expect to study alot if you are not fluent in
No Comments
He needs to base his quizzes more on his lectures. He teaches you the basics and its up to you to study further into the notes. 75% quizzes/10% projects(which you don't even get back)/15% final.
He is really nice and friendly teacher. Exam was difficult. But if you have questions, he will be nice to help you. I got an A in both Math190 and Math 191
Brian Anderson is not a good teacher at all! he will not help students..for some reason people think he is helpful. 3 words of advice for him: Get A Woman! He's uptight,Also he gives you a big final project at the end of some classes and it is a waste
He's really helpful. He is always willing to stay for while to answer some questions or help someone who needs help understanding something. His lectures are concise and easy to understand
This was the first math class in my life that I got above a "C". It is clearer than any math class that I have ever taken, although that material can be hard.
This professor is really a nice guy, but his lectures are based exactly on what the book is explaining. You might as well not go to class because he just goes off the book. You need a TEACHER not a BOOK. He needs to TEACH not read of the examples. already given. Grade is based on entirely on test
The reviews of this teacher were obviously from students who did not take advantage of his office hour. He could be unclear, this is true, but by asking a QUESTION or two he would do everything he could to help you understand. If you are willing to work you will have a solid understanding of calc.
Don't listen to the lazy slackers who said he's hard or whatever. He's super fair, and helpful too. Like the last rater said, drop by on his office hours and you'll see. If you're not willing to work, you're not going to like any math teacher, remember that.
a good teacher is one who convey's adequate information IN class, not when he has his own free time to tutor. not all students have schedules compatable to his office hours. if u value your GPA and want 2 transfer, while not being on the 10-year junior college plan take, someone else
he rules. hes such a nice guy. he's flexible and he's willing to make ideas clear. if you cant get the math, dont get mad at him. he's a super cool teacher.
Awesome teacher! Don't take anyone else!
It was my first B in math. Before that I was lucky to get a C.
He is easy and fair. Recommend to take his class if you want to improve your Math skills. The lecture is a little boring, but if you read book first, you will see how interesting he is. More, He will be willing to answer any questions you want. Read book before coming to class, and you can get an A easily.
hes a good teacher but the quizzes are hard
Sometimes I got so frustrated with his ambiguous teaching style that I would not even be able to bear going to class. I cried often. He doesn't assign HW and for this reason other profs agree with me that he is hurting his students because he is being lazy. Let's all be honest here, even the best of us do not do uncollected HW all the time.
this teacher is great!!!! do not take anyone else. he wants all his notes on the board and his quizes and tests are all open notes. some of the questions on the tests are a bit confusing but you have ur book and ur notes for help. also he gives extra credit!!
This guy knows his stuff. Maybe its just the course, but he is very organized and helpful. He gives you exactly what you need to solve a problem. He never hands you the answer on a plater, however. He is just really good at helping you see a problem in an easier way. Highly recommend this teacher!
I got a D, hes a nice guy but doesnt assign mandatory homework which i never could motivate myself for, he misleads you when studying for test questions...2 projects, one extra credit assignment, and he grades on a curve...too bad my class was half honors students or maybe i wouldve passed
I took him for Stats and he is the BEST math teacher I have ever had in my entire life!! HW was not mandatory, and I never really did it. I ALWAYS struggle in math, and I got a B.. His last 3 tests are OPEN NOTE OPEN BOOK.. INCLUDING THE FINAL!!! Class never lasted more than an hour, and if you stay after he will give you plenty of **hints** GREAT
He is not clear in his explaintation and doesn't do any better when you ask questions. Although he grades on a curve, homework is NOT mandatory, nor are the computer hours, it is very HARD to pass this class. He teaches VERY fast. He starts working the problems before you even finish copying the question and notes down.
If you do not pass his class, its your own fault. He is a great teacher and class ends early every day so you can stay after and go over homework and ask a million questions. you don't have to do hw, but it helps. stats is not that easy of a subject which is not his fault. he's a great teacher and a really nice guy
He's alright. Seems to favor the honor students and grades the tests and project on a curve, but honor students usually do well anyway and set the curve. Tests are a little different than the lecture cuz he only gives one example and it's from the book. Then he tests on a more advanced ? than he taught. Use color and a folder for the projects!
Awesome teacher, hard class. Stay after and do the homework. Tests get easier when you can use your notes. He is very helpful!
For being an honors course, it definetly is not as hard as other honors classes. The honors class is mixed in with the traditional class. We all do the same work, take the same tests. The only difference is that the honors students have 3 extra homework assignments, and no one has "mandatory" homework. Easy class if you attend and seek his help.
He is a good teacher, material is hard, but his tests are evil. While you can use notes on the later tests be aware he uses tricky wording to purposly midlead you to using wrong forumula. While not required do the homework for your own good even if he doesn't collect it. Sometimes he is hard to understand so stick around after class for Q&A time.
Not a very good teacher would not reccomend his class to anybody.
Anderson does well what a Professor is supposed to do - Teach. His tests are hard, but there are no tricks, per se. He simply creates problems that use the concepts learned in a slightly different way than the book problems to make sure you get it. His class is on a curve, and he offers extra credit work. Just do the work reliably, you'll be ok
his class was a tough one! he teaches you everything you need to know for the test perfectly, but its up to you to make sure you understand it. the projects took some time, but were a boost to your grade. doing the homework is necessary to do well. the last 3 of the 5 tests were open note , which was VERY helpful. overall he was a great teacher.
I am a student who has average skills in math. I had taken this course online and traditionally in another CC but could not grasp the concepts until I took statistics with Anderson. He is an amazing teacher who takes time to answer all questions. Homework/extra hour isn't mandatory but needed to do well in this course. With hard work I earned an A.
Very well organized and structured. One of the best math professors I've had. However, critical thinking is a MUST in his class. He gives you the tools to solve problems, but you have to figure out which tools to use on his tests.
cannot miss one day, or you will fall behind, and not be able to catch up
His class is easy! If you are really good at math especially statistic, you should take his class because we actually do not need to do assignment and attend the class. He did not check!! You just need to take the exam! But you are not good at math, you should take different professor's class!!
His class is tough. But maybe thats just because Stats is tough. I enjoyed his class and he's very helpful and funny. He is very interested in participation and hw is not "mandatory." There is an individual project that you have to do. The last 3 tests and final are open book and note.
Seriously amazing man. He will help you as much as he possibly can and challenge you to ACTUALLY THINK! IMAGINE THAT! One of the best classes I took at Citrus.
Dont take him if you are not mathematically inclined! He is horrible! He lectured as if you already knew what he was talking about. It didnt help that he gives no credit for HW there is no extra credit and he doesnt drop your lowest test score so you have a small window of success-you either do good in each test or fail. :( Sure there are 3 open bo
I took his Intro. to Statistics (MATH 165) class in the spring. Very difficult material. I recommend staying during the second portion of his class where he goes over homework. DO YOUR HWK ADVANCE AND STUDY. Ask him about your hwk problems. Excellent teacher. Very clear and helpful in his lectures. His tests are hard though. I, myself, got an A.
Mr. Anderson is a great professor. I took him on my 3rd try with stats and he helped me out tremendously. I am not mathematically inclined to say the least. He cares a lot about his class and makes stats as simple to understand as its going to get. I highly recommend taking him. It is a college class so you have to pt in the effort as well.
If math is not your strong suit, take Anderson. He only grades on exams, a presentation and participation. Will let you use notes during exams. Most of all he takes all the time needed to make sure everyone understands the concepts. Great professor!
THIS MAN IS GENIUS!! HE IS THE GREATET PROFESSOR TO WALK CITRUS COLLEGE'S CAMPUS!! I LOVE HIM!! IM A GUY!! =D
Pros: Extremely intelligent professor. Easy to understand.. Very helpful (if you ask him questions). Gives xtracredit. Cons: Extremely difficult course. Doesn't curve tests. Entire grade based upon attendance, exams, and a pp project. Recommendation: Stay after class to ask questions and go over homework and whatnot
The class is hard but you get notes on the last three tests and there's a huge curve. The highest grade I could have got (assuming I recieved a 100 on the final) was an 85 and I still got an A.
Great Professor. Always Available During His Office Hours For Review & Questions. He's Very Passionate About His Job & Makes Calculus Interesting. I Highly Recommend His Course. If You Attend Class, You Will Definately Learn. Grading System: 4 Exams (80%), 1 Presentation (10%) & Participation (10%). He Might Use A Slightly Curved Grading System.
Easy going teacher. Helpful, gives you the option of doing homework or participating in class. However he expects everyone to participate every class. You have to present a section of the chapter to your fellow classmates. He doesn't like using formulas to teach, he has a set of notes you need to print out from blackboard and just fill in class.
Love Mr. Anderson! Really nice guy, and great professor! Difficult material but he grades with a huge curve. He definately appreciates participation--it will boost your grade! He's funny too, in his own goofy little way. Cool guy! :)
Great personality. Good laughs. However, style of teaching does not suit all. Lectures are tedious and often unclear. HW that is not mandatory= students not practicing. If you are capable of sometimes teaching yourself, jump on in. If you cannot, stay clear.
AWESOME TEACHER!!!! I love the fact that he is funny and entertaining. He also will help you without making yu feel embarrased. Stats isn't easy and his way of grading is like no other...but I strongly recommend you take him if you are a serious student.
Great professor! He's an intelligent man and he knows his calculus. He sometimes teaches quickly and it could be hard to grasp the concepts. He will definitely help you if you ask. There's no homework, which is a blessing and a curse. In calculus, you have got to practice! I would recommend Anderson to anybody. No homework, 4 tests, 1 presentation.
Great teacher. Likes his work. His tests are not designed to trick you, however they can be tricky because they require critical thinking. You can't just simply regurgitate info...you need to understand it. Luckily, he's readily available. Be prepared for class. Stay engaged and participate and you can do well.
Tests were absurdly hard and some questions weren't even covered or part of the chapter. Tests were mind boggling. Even the book couldn't help. Lecture was pointless because it didn't prepare you for the test. You have to do a presentation which is strange for a math class. Nice guy though.
He's a really nice guy. He lectures with a document that he created, so if you print it out from Blackboard it's easy to follow along. He lets you use your notes for the 3rd and 4th test. Besides 4 exams and the final there is also an eight minute presentation that you have to do. Overall, it's a tough class but he's always willing to help.
Incredibly smart, helpful, and all around a great teacher. He really makes sure you understand the material, especially if you go to his office hours. I highly recommend him for stats.
I was impressed by his teaching style. Be sure to print the notes off of blackboard, because the lecture is entirely based off of the notes. Get the textbook--you'll need it for the charts and info for your presentation. Highly recommend if you're scared of stats!
Good Teacher, explained everything very well, very helpful. He has optional Homework but the biggest regret for me was not doing the homework. It helps so much and most of the problems on the homework were on in some shape or form were on the test. His tests are pretty hard but not to bad. He grades with a huuge curve which was great
The attitude is good, but is really easy to get lost. The idea is if you get it good if not too bad! try Harder. You are left with "do what you feel necessary" other than that, well read the book and hope you get it
Prof Anderson is probably the best math teacher i have ever had he actually breaks everything down for his students ( he doesnt believe in memorizing formulas instead breaks it down) and cares! his office is always open for help and the notes make everything easier i never purchased the book and got an A he amazing!
HARDEST TEACHER I HAVE EVER TAKEN! DO NOT TAKE!
Nice professor. However his lessons don't prepare you for the test. Plus there is no homework nor does he help with assigning problems that would be helpful to study.
Super nice guy and really cares about his students and wants them to well. However, the subject and the grading is hard. He doesn't collect hw so you really have to practice all sorts or problems from the problem sets and the book. 4 tests, each worth 20%, no cumulative final. 10% participation, 10% presentation of a chapter. I would recommend him!
Nice guy...however, not a good teacher. Your grade is all based off test so there is no room for error. Anderson does not assign homework which makes learning hard since practice makes perfect. Nor does he really suggest problems to practice. Overall, nice guy but a lousy teacher.
nice guy but not the best for teaching. Focuses on the idea of what is cal but not the how to go about it.If you ask for help, he sends you to tutors instead of helping you. Take him if you have taken cal in high school for the rest look elsewhere.
He's a great professor. The class is pretty hard since I didn't study for this class. He cares about his students; he always ask them if they have any questions. He's very approachable, so don't be afraid to asks him anything! I would definitely take him again because he makes math less intimidating. Also, this class has no homework!
Only gives three tests the whole semester and they're all brutal! However, he's a great teach who is willing to stay after class and answer any remaining questions. But study hard and participate, you may be able to pull out an A if you work hard at it.
Prof doesn't assign Hw.he teaches the class based off his own notes. When asked for help, he refers you to stem center, sigma mentors etc. There are only 3 exams in the class. If you have taken cal before then he is okay but if you haven't then take someone else.
HORRIBLE TEACHER!!! Nice Guy, but took his class and a very smart girl cried after the first test. Don't even try it. Terrible!!
HW isn't mandatory but we all know how it'll benefit us. So don't complain about it. I'm okay at math but Anderson stayed after class and helped those in need. After not doing well on the first test, I was able to score the highest on a later test. I've never scored the highest on any test, EVER! I got a B because of Andersons helpfulness. Take Him
Worst math teacher i even had. Doesn't give out homework. Go over easy stuffs in class, but put the hardest or not even taught questions on the tests.
Horrible. A lot of head knowledge of what he teaches but isn't an effective communicator AT ALL. Bases your entire grade of 5 tests and a presentation. Class lectures are easy examples and nothing like the tests. If you have questions, don't bother asking in class because he won't answer them unless you go to his office hours. DO NOT RECOMMEND
not recommend, no given homework for further practice, just talk a little bit on the simple questions without detailed analyzes. then you will found the questions on the test is so hard and you may never see it before. Also he will not answer you question very well to make you are clear. nice guy, but not a good teacher.
attention here, if you are a international students and not very good at self-study, don't take it. cause there is a 15 min presentation that take 25% on the final points. only if you can see a native english then you may get a high score on it. he will not talk too much on the principle, but only go through some easy problem without clear explain.
professor Anderson is a great teacher. he is very helpful and is willing to stay after class to answer questions. he also encourages students to go to his office if they need help. his tests are not easy, but i wouldn't say hard. i had him for calc 1 and 2. i'd love to take him for calc 3 again! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND HIM !!
Definitely the best math teacher ive had. His approach is to help you understand the concept behind the material so you can tackle any problem. Self-motivation is the key to success. Do practice problems outside class and ask questions in it if you have them. Anderson will do his best to help you.
He is an extremely nice man, but in all honesty one of the worse teachers I have ever took at citrus. His lectures are unclear, there's only 4 test and no HW to help your grade and only FIVE points for participation! The presentation is only 20 points and it's almost impossible to do because no one can answer his questions at the end of them! AWFUL
DO NOT TAKE! Does not explain well, hardly teaches, he has the students teach the class, no homework, does not explain what is on the exams, says to study questions he made for the exams, but if you ask him if they will be on the exam he says no, does not use the book, he is very nice but a terrible teacher.
he require strong basics for his class, recommend only for the student learn very well in math before, he like to follow his own understanding and do not like to limited by book. if you keep following in his class, you will have stong understand, the only thing is test is really hard
Very nice guy. He focuses on understanding of concepts rather than "busy work," so there's no actual homework, but he posts handy packets online, with summaries and practice problems. Each test has a brutal bonus question for extra credit, but he tells you up-front that it's not like practice problems; you have to think outside the box to get it.
hardest math teacher I've took so far. 5 tests including final but there worth 75% of your grade. a presentation worth 20% (presentation for math???) and 5% participation. no homework at all so if ur a bad test taker your screwed. he is very nice and helpful though and also a very smart guy. he does grade on a curve to help you out.
I took this class in the winter and found this class a bit challenging but in a good way. He likes to teach the class by having them come to the right conclusion for a problem instead of him telling you the answer all the time. His grading is pretty fair and also one thing to keep in mind is participation is key to getting a good grade in there.
Took his calculus 2 class in spring 2015 and honestly it was way tougher than calculus 1. His class is very awesome, very enjoyable with his approach "Understand it now in class, practice in home". Give bonus credits for participation, consists of 3 exams , 1 final and 1 presentation all 20% of your grade. 4 questions, 1 bonus question.
Anderson is the first Math professor I met at Citrus. He is a kind and interesting professor. Always wants to know students' need and try to solve all problems students have. He likes to get students involved in the class and that's why he lets students do the presentation. Strongly recommend him!
If you're a STEM student and care about your GPA, DO NOT take this class with Anderson. Transfer to Mt. Sac. Anderson can't clarify on any points to save his life, his tests are 4 questions with a bonus out of 20 points, and he doesn't' tell you the mistakes you made. Save yourself the trouble and hassle and transfer elsewhere.
He only grades out of 20 points and the hardest questions that students struggle with are on the tests. He doesn't explain the topics nor the examples well at all, and expects the students to just pick up on the topic right away. Worst teacher ever. Oh, and you NEVER use the textbook
He teaches mathematics pretty clear, and has patience with student's questions. Just prepare yourself for giving lectures. that's the hardest part
Really nice and genuine guy. He is patient with students and he offers help during office hours. Understand that Stats is not the easiest of subjects or the most 'fun' material to learn or teach for that matter. I found that if you stick with the class you can get a passing grade. I miserably failed my first test (like low F) and earned A.
This professor assigns a presentation assignment that will not correspond to that day's lesson. He will not break down the concepts in simplest of terms and will expects you to have an abstract thinking equivalent to Einstein. The class is literally the blind leading the blind so just take the class with another professor. You have been warned.
Do not take this professor. He will teach you easy things in class and the test will be questions that are 10 times harder. If you have the opportunity take another teacher because this one isn't that great.
Awful.. Presentation is absolutely rough because most likely you've never taken stats so will have no idea how to explain it! Do not take!
Took for calc 1 & 2. He teaches you calculus. With that being said calc isnt easy, & just because the class is hard doesnt mean he's a bad teacher. Anderson will take the time to explain what youre confused about. All you have to do is ask questions; & better yet asking questions & participating in class gets you extra credit. Wish he taught calc3.
Not a good teacher, period, I advise taking another teacher. He only lectures off per written notes and never uses the textbook. He expects the students to know the topics right away and doesn't clarify your questions. The exams are based off of the hardest questions in the notes. Don't take him if you care about your gpa
On the first day of stats there were about 35-40 students with about 15-20 trying to add and by the withdrawal date there was about 6 of us left. He's very intelligent but can't communicate what's inside his head in a way that others can absorb. You should not be doing a presentation in a math class I'm sorry that's absurd.
He'll ask a question and never really gives the answer to it. He gives out no homework and if there is homework on the back of his notes they're very difficult and nothing like what are on his notes. If math isn't your strong suit It's best to find another professor because you will not pass.
Hardest class ever. Got an A in my last math class and now failing this class. I have a really high GPA and this class ruined it. He does not explain anything and expects you to repeat back the answer when you ask a question. Tons of panic attacks before each test.
I failed this class on purpose. After his third test of only 5 questions I realized this is not the professor for me. He only gives 3 tests and 1 final. No homework. One presentation required. Completely unclear in lecture and I left the class each time retaining nothing. He's a great guy, very nice, and loves math, but he can't set you up to win.
This class is HARD. However, Professor Anderson gives extra credit for class participation, so participate in class, come to his office hours, and study the homework packet he gives you! You will pass if you put in the work. Be prepared to do a class presentation and speak in front of your classmates. That is a big part of your score.
He does NOT give any homework! If you want to pass his class you have open the text and do practice problems on your own!!! He does provide lecture notes. His exams consisted of 5 questions with one bonus questions allowing for up to 5 pts. extra credit. A presentation of at least 7 minutes is required.
The class is out of 100 points total. He gives opportunities for extra credit though (3 pt question each test and up to 10 pts for participation). Difficult class but it is statistics. He clearly loves the subject so participate and you can bump your grade up a whole letter.
BY FAR FAV MATH PROF IVE EVER HAD!! He will take the time to go over concepts til you understand in class and no hw is assigned so tests are important. His class is broken up into four sections/exams and each exam has only five questions/25 pts but he only grades up to 20 points. He also gives other opportunities to earn more points towards exam.
He is a good professor for those who have a good math base or talent. Make you start to feel fun at math, and no need too much effort to get an A. But if you don't good at math, then you possibly need more effort.
Prof Anderson is so helpful, he explains problems in different ways which made his lectures fun and understandable. He has plenty of office hours which is accessible after class if you stuck on some problems.
Not a good professor when it is you're first year at a college. He does a few problems on the board and it doesn't really correlate to the section. His class is run by discussion & group work. He first "teaches" & then you do completely different problems with classmates, which makes it really difficult. Theres 3 tests with only 4 problems in them.
I think this guy is smart, but not really a good teacher. Prof. Anderson teaches with his own material. Doesn't use the book at all and even if you have it, it won't really help prepare you for his stuff. He makes up his own problems and he vaguely lectures on the topics. He does not give homework, but you do have to teach one module from the book.
Utilize professor Anderson's office hours if you are struggling with a particular section.
Just because something is hard doesn't mean the professor is bad. Calculus is hard and Prof. Anderson really tries to get students to understand the concept behind it rather than a systematic way of doing math. Many will find his class difficult because it is based on exams, but I learned a lot from his calc1 and calc2 classes.
It was a worst class for me. I'm really bad at Math. Especially, Math 190 is a geometric calculus which is not easy. However, the professor just explains only few concepts and groups the students to solve the other complicated problems. Students who are good at Math only participates in group work and those who are not just give up like me.
Stay far away from this class if you need to take Calc 2. Notes are minimal if not none. You will need to do all your learning at home. Participation is where you get hammered. If you do not participate ALL THE TIME you will not get above a C. He pretends to listen to student concerns but does nothing to adapt to his class's concerns. BEWARE
Highly recommend his hybrid class! No tests. Grade is based on homework assignments and discussion posts. Must respond in every assignment discussion with a couple posts (questions or answers) to get full points. Also, lots of extra credit through his challenge discussions. As long as you can get on board with the discussions, you will do well.
THERES ONLY HW AND DISCUSSION BOARD AND HE GRADES BOTH RLY hARD SO WATCH OUT EVEN THO THERES NO TEST IN THE CLASS. OUR ClASS AVERAGE WAS AROUND D+ TO C- SO I WOULDNT RECOMMEND TAKING IT UNLESS YOU ARE RLY KNOW WHAT YOUR ARE DOING SINCE HE BARELY TEACHES ANYTHING IN HIS 1 HOUR LECTURES THAT HE GOES ON 2 TIMES A WEEK. ITS BASICALLY SELF LEARNING.
He's horrible. never take him if you don't have to. HE doesn't teach well. doesn't give good feedback. his grading scale is designed to fail students. if students fail he believes its a reflection of the student not his horrible teach style that doesn't make sense. Everyone doing well is only passing due to outside research because he can't teach.
Worst professor I've ever taken. I've never been met with someone who sucks more than this guy. I genuinely hope he retires because he doesn't know how to teach or communicate with his students. He won't teach, won't grade, and won't help. This guy is absolutely the worst experience I've had. not just worst class worst Experience!!!DO NOT TAKE HIM
Horrible! Just Horrible! Please listen when I say do not take him! Please it is the worst!!!!
run for your life
HE'S SUCH A GOOD PROFESSOR. Don't pay attention to the many..... many........ many negative ratings he has already, they're alllllll wrooooonnnnggggg. HE'S THE BEST PROFESSOR ON EARTH, AND HE THINKS SO TOO!
He has managed so that it is easier to understand calculus 2 than it is to pass the class itself. The only class where the subject is easier than the class itself. And Calc 2 isnt even easy to begin with!!
Anderson's exams are pretty tough and if you mess up then expect to lose a few points. Work out all his problems in the notes he writes. If you cannot solve those then you are not ready for the exams. Do not rely on all the negative reviews. This class is supposed to be tough. You will realize that classes only become harder once you transfer out.
I do not recommend him all of his class is discussions there are no tests and he grades the discussions really tough it is very hard to get and A or B in his class even if you try your best.
Prof. Anderson is the BEST!! He's my favorite math professor. He has NO TESTS so his grading depends on the homework and discussion boards. You're given 10 questions each week for homework and you have to write 3 answers and 3 questions on the discussion board. His time was limited bcs of covid class hours but he was always available after class.
He really cares about his students and making sure that you understand the material. His hours were cut in half bcs of covid so if possible you should definitely go to his office hours and asks questions bcs he'll walk you through the whole problem. He had no tests and it was graded on HW and discussions. For discussions, always post more than need
He's a nice guy but I just couldn't take his class. He's a tough grader and gives out homework with questions that are barely touched upon in lecture. Grading is harsh as well.
Class is chill, he's nice, and he will answer any question, no matter how dumb or far behind it is. Lectures are interesting but sometimes hard to understand. Should be fine if you spend your own time practicing and watching videos on youtube. You won't pass if you only rely on lectures. He gives second chances to improve exam scores.
Nice guy, but puts people on the spot and has an odd class format. Each week he makes you ask 3 questions about the hw and answer 2 of your peers which I found it to be unnecessary and a waste of time. Exams were hard and nothing like the hw. He can also be backhanded. Do NOT take him! Dropped his class and took Mr Chen and passed with an A!
Mr. Anderson's class was very difficult for me, but he is a very great teacher. Unfortunately, his teaching style isn't something I connect with, so I struggled till the very end. He offers many chances for extra credit on exams though. If you decide to take him, just be ready to learn outside of his lectures as his exams/hw can be very tricky!
