He is funny in class but still teaches at the same time

Professor Barron is an AWESOME teacher. I would take his class EVERYTIME. VERY HELPFUL, Understanding, EASY to make an A. Pay attention and come to class!!!!

Dr.Barron is the best math teacher I've ever had. He's energetic and makes it easy to understand. He gives the hw assign. the 1st day 4 the whole quarter, and the hw really helps prepare you for the quizzes or exam. GREAT teacher! I'm horrible in math and I passed Calculus 240 with a B. Really funny and helpful. I went to his office an hour before the test and he willingly answered every question I had. He really explains it in a way the students can understand. Do the homework because it helps your grade. TAKE HIM! I've been trying to ever since!

Fair teacher. He moves fast but you get a day off. This is a teacher who truly leaves your grade up to you. Keep up with homework, webwork, and aleks and you'll do ok. He is more than willing to help as much as he can.

Mr. Barron is just about the greatest math teacher ever no joke. As long as you do the homework and follow the guidelines of his syllabus it will be easy to make a B and highly possible to make a A. Im already enrolled to take him in the spring for 241.

I have always hated math and done poorly in it, but Dr. Barron made it so much fun! I took Meng last quarter and had to drop because I would have failed, but I almost made an A in Dr. Barron's class. He makes it fun and he's a really funny guy. I would recommend every student to take him if you can :)

(finite math)This man understands most of us are not math majors and we just want to get through it. He grades very liberal and fast. He dosn't make you do alex or the other program that most math teachers require for this class. To top it off he is a nice and funny man. He gives crystal clear examples in class & goes over difficult homework problems at the beginning of each class. Homework is mandatory & he will drop you 1 letter grade if you don't turn in at least 25 homework assignments. He gives you the easier problems instead of the hardest problems on his tests. He is highly recommended.

I had him for 101, 240, and 241. he's a great teacher and he's always willing to help. homework and attendance are mandatory but the homework assignments never take too long

I have never been a math person, and making A's in math is not my average score! Taking Dr. Baron was a so helpful for me, I realized with a good teacher I can "get it" and do well. Stats 200 was my first A in math in a long time. Dr. Baron made a huge differnece! Hes a GREAT teacher and far from boring.

I have had him for Math 240 and 241 also. He does alot of examples on the board and is really willing to help his students. His tests cover ALL of the material since the previous one, so you do have to study, but if you take this teacher and put forth the effort, you WILL learn. He actually makes you WANT to go to class. Never a dull moment.

I absolutely loved his classes! I had him for 240 and 241. I actually enjoyed going to class. We had projects in 241 and he was more than willing to help students out if they were having trouble! Definitely take him!

Awesome teacher. Fun exciting and REALLY good at explaining things. His tests are hard, but I felt I really knew the material. Made class fun, and usually lets you out early. If you want an easy A don't take but if you want a good explanation of math and want to really understand the material, take Baron.

Great teacher, very difficult. Even though I couldn't pass his class, I still learned more in 6 weeks than I did in my entire 4 years of High School. Fantastic. Just be prepared to do the work.

He is a very good teacher, and his lectures are interesting. His tests are hard and most questions come from the book and not from his lectures. If you're serious and willing to do homework, this class will be a breeze.

Very nice guy. Hard tests for higher level classes. Teaches exactly from the book, I mean exactly. Goes over homework problems though. First test was very hard, was completely unlike the 9 minute test he told us about (just reading the 20 multiple choice questions took 9 minutes)- lots of formulas to remember and keep separate.

Dr. Barron is a really, really good teacher. You will learn a ton in his class, but his tests are really hard. They are extremely long. It's almost impossible to finish in an hour and fifteen. BUT aside from the tests he is a great math teacher to take. You will be really prepared for your next math class. Guaranteed

Love this professor! Math has never been my strongest subject and I honestly believed I was doomed to repeat this class again. However, he makes this class very easy and grades lightly, as long as you at least attempt the problem. He's also pretty humorous and keeps things interesting. I absolutely suggest taking his class!

i took him for trig, and while i am HORRIBLE at math ( and have a pretty terrible work ethic) it wasnt so bad. trig is never going to be easy, but he makes it bearable. if i would have put effort into the class i would have easily had an A. he gives SO much partial credit on exams! the only down fall is he requires lots of my math lab!

Math 240 will never be easy, but with Barron you have the best chance of passing and even getting a high grade. He is incredibly funny and very good at giving a good understanding of the material to his students. He is my favorite teacher of this quarter.

I failed this class the first time I took it with Stacey Potter, but Dr. Barron made everything easy to understand and he didn't assume that we came in knowing any of his material. He was friendly, helpful, and easy to understand! Favorite class and teacher at Tech, by far.

I had him for university seminar and he is an awesome guy! He is very helpful and he genuinely cares about the students. He is down to earth and will tell you how it is. I did not have him for math but I think he would be a great teacher because of the way he talks to us in seminar.

Barron is a great math teacher. His tests are not too hard, and he gives a lot of partial credit. He teaches fast. I have him for a 1 hour and 15 min class, but the longest class has been 40 minutes.

A good teacher but goes through the material really fast. You wont be in the class the whole time. The tests are hard but gives good partial credit. There's 3 tests and the finale, out of the 4 tests he only takes the 3 highest. The only homework is WebWork which you must do to get a decent grade.

Funny guy, his lectures typically do not last long. Upside get out of class early, downside you sometimes leave confused and did not take much from lecture because you spent the lecture writing down notes. The main key to success in his class is to work hard, and review all the material. The test are kind of tough, and he grades tough.

Dr. Barron did very well for this class. He explained things very clearly, did several examples, and let us out early almost every day leaving plenty of time to talk to him for questions. If you're the type of student that needs plenty of examples to learn math then avoid him. Gives one or two examples per class, three if you're lucky. He's a funny and down to earth guy. Went to talk to him during office hours and could barely keep up with his explanation so Google carried me through this class. Wouldn't take again.

The material is difficult, but he shows you what you are actually doing instead of just throwing numbers around. Gives partial credit, but tests are tough, so know your stuff.

Class is always very short. He moves at a VERY fast pace (lesson and one example then move on) which I like. Gives a lot of partial credit. Do not take if you like Meng a lot because he is the opposite almost. Usually one or two examples per section.

Barron is a well-rounded professor. His lectures are easy to follow and his grading isn't too harsh on tests. He tends to teach quicker than most professors, which means his class lets out early. Some people find this as a problem because he doesn't give as many examples, but i was able to learn the material quite well with his style of teaching.

Great guy! The tests were actually pretty easy, it's obvious he doesn't want you to fail. he was always available in his office during his hours and was willing to help. Also if you are using the wrong calculator on the test he will throw it out the door into the hall. And the reason i got a C was due to the pace of summer classes, not him.

First off, this guy is hilarious. His personality actually made me want to go to class more. He is one of a few teachers who really cares that you know the material. Take him. Every. Chance. You. Get. His tests are pretty moderate, but he can throw a curveball every once in a while. That being said, the tests are doable if you pay attention.

I took the Honors 125 section. The lectures never last longer than 50 minutes, are upbeat, and visual; the homework assigned is for your benefit for his tests, but he doesn't check it; he is funny and kind. Also YOU GET HALF THE POINTS OF A TEST PROBLEM FOR JUST TRYING. I would choose Dr. Barron for all my math classes.

One of my personal favorite profs! Only guy I know that can teach a class in a way that almost everyone can understand with real world problems and can do it in about 2/3's the time other professors can. Always got out 15-20 early without the need for questions. The final can't hurt your grade and if you have an A, you don't have to show up!

I've always struggled with math but Dr. Barron has made calculus easy to grasp. He lectures quickly, but will always slow down and back up if you ask him to. Always happy to help you outside of class. Really smart and does a great job of explaining concepts. Will definitely take him again. Bonus: his lectures are funny.

I have only taken Dr. Barron for 244, so I don't know how much he does this in the lower classes, but he pretty much only gives numerical examples. We never have to prove anything for the tests, but this makes it harder to solve the more difficult WebWork questions. If you are taking a foundational class like 241 or 242, take a harder teacher.

Precalculus itself is a pretty tedious and difficult subject and what would make it even better than with a difficult professor? Well unlike all the other precal professors, I can have a lot of people vouch for me when i say this but Dr. Barron is the BEST precal professor in campus. He had the highest overall test deviation for finals/midterm.

Dr. Barron is your go-to professor if you know you're only decent in math. I would recommend taking him for your math classes if you DESPERATELY need to pass. His exams aren't all that bad compared to all the other professors. The only downside is that he goes too fast in his lectures.

Barron is down-to-earth but professional at the same time. While he won't hesitate to crack jokes in class, he's also focused on the actual content of the course and making sure everyone understands it. He communicates clearly about when everything is due and how it will be graded. Classes largely consist of working onvarious examples and methods.

Sometimes goes on a preacher ramble. But hes a good teacher and shows good examples. Notes are helpful. Recorded lectures are helpful. Attendance not required. No textbook required, although, you will have to purchase MyMathLab to do the homework and quizzes, which are a big portion of the grade. Tests are very similar to notes. Good test prep

Mr. Barron is an incredible, funny guy. The Tests aren't super difficult (he gives partial credit!!), if you attend lectures you will be fine. For some reason this quarter Barron decided to go hard mode because he skipped over several important concepts (that I later learned from other sections), and gave a super hard Test 2. Overall, great teacher

I had Barron for math 240, 243, and 244. He is easy to follow along to and creates a step-by-step process to very difficult concepts. I always enjoyed going to his class. There was nothing on the exam that you did not expect, you basically knew what you were going to be tested on before taking the exam.

He's a good guy and a good teacher. He records his lectures so you can look back and review any notes you have. He helps with homework, and he has 0 surprises on his test.

I had his 8am class this quarter and wouldn't have survived if Barron made attendance necessary or didn't upload every single class he teaches. The man is a saint and being able to learn calculus at a reasonable time made all of the difference.

Dr. Barron teaches quickly, while still making sure his students understand the material. This allows him to give a review day before exams usually, which is a rarity but extremely welcome. His lecturing style incorporates occasional humor to break up the dry contents. Dr. Barron also streams all of his lectures, to ensure everyone can attend.

His classes are optional but it is better to attend in person, he gives really good partial credit. He is also very funny and his test were not too hard. He gives additional resources outside of the class and really wants his students to succeed.

Dr. Barron is a great professor. I've had him for Math 244 as well as 313, and in both he makes it clear that he cares about his students and their ability to understand the material and be prepared for the exams. He also tries his best to make the material interesting, and he is a naturally funny guy so he does it well. Take him whenever possible.

Barron's class can be fast-paced, but his recorded lectures and availability for questions make up for it. Unstuck study and other resources like ChatGPT helped me stay on top of the material. Overall, a solid choice if you're willing to put in the work.

Great lecturer. Fast-paced but the recorded lectures can catch you up to speed if you need them to. Biggest piece of advise for his class (and any class that uses Webwork), do NOT leave the homework unchecked. You'll have a lot of time to do it, but don't push it off to the last minute. It's helpful, but can very easily consume hours of your time.

Dr. Barron is without a doubt one of the best to take for the MATH 240 series. His lectures are clear and engaging, and his tests are always over material covered in class. He also gives generous partial credit on tests. Your grade is 90% tests, though, so make sure you are prepared. He is easy to approach if you ever need help.

Loved Dr. Barron, he's hilarious, he's a great lecturer, and he posts every lecture online for anyone who was absent to watch later, or for you to revise your notes. He gives lots of online study resources to seek out, and does not require a textbook.

He is a great professor, but he does go very quick in lectures & gets off track occasionally. He posts the lectures to watch later which is great! and attendance doesn't matter except for test days (obv). He is a super easy grader but makes sure you understand from your work on your test. He's also always available for webwork help.
