ROCK ON BLAIS! GREAT TEACHER, SUPER SMART!
For those of you thinking about taking this class because you think it will be easy, think again. This isn't that easy A astronomy class that you took in high school. This is ballzy math like you've never seen before. By far, the most challenging class
His Physics class is WAY out in Left Field somewhere. If you're not seriously considering a career in Science this course can be rather interesting...

Brian Rules! If anyone says otherwise, it's only because they're too stupid to do well in his course. He gives you all the answers before the test, you just need to review everything. You're a moron if you don't do well. He's also massively cool.
Brian ROCKS! He's totally cool, brilliant, and cute. :)
Whoever said this dude is cool should be smacked in the face with the butt end of a shotgun...this guy sucks...worst teaching style ever..made me hate stars
Blais is awesome during classes, but trying to understand the programming languages for AI and Robotics is tough. His office hours are good and he is helpful both during class and office hours! He's the MAN to talk to!
Class is pretty easy. but can be boring at times
stars get my engine going....just not to this class
You'll learn alot in this class. Lots and lots of work but not the hardest work you'll ever do. Somewhat boring.
Awesome professor. Very hyper. Loves his topic. Funny. Kind. Memorize problems with answers he gives you and you will ace the course.
This guy is easily the worst person I have encountered in my lifetime. He gives the hardest work possible with the least amount of help. If you take this class you will hate yourself for your whole life.
professor blais is one of the best professors at bryant ... if you have the chance to take him, definitely do it ... very fair, very reasonable in grading, and ALWAYS willing to help
easily the worst teacher i have had always thinks he is right when he usually is wrong. Do not take his class that is all i can tell you.
Blais is like a ping-pong ball bouncing from one of class to the other, way to much coffee, but byond that he knows his stuff just need to read the book and now how to do the math and you will do well on his tests.Project go to him for help and ull do well
Awesome teacher, really into the subject matter. Do the work, youll do fine! :-D
Good teacher, funny guy, makes class clear and easy, tests are a joke if you study a little, if he gets a haircut he could be the man
His questions are a little out there, but they are do-able. I have litterally e-mailed him 20 times to get through a question; he is very helpfull. I have good grades in his classes. He is blatant, and very aprrochable. Difficult yes, but do-able
Good guy, very funny. Be prepared to do a lot of math, though. This class not for the right-brained.
I hated this class! NEVER TAKE IT, EVER! Question he has you do suck, I dropped half way through the sememster. Professor nice, but not very caring about your grade.
MORE WORK THEN ANY CLASS I HAVE TAKEN EVER. HE MAKS CLASS UNFUN AND MAKES HOMEWORKA SSINMENTS IMPOSSIBLE. THREE BIG PROJECTS AND GET FAMILIAR WITH THE NAME EMILIA, HIS DAUGHTER ALL HE TALKS ABOUT. GET OUT NOW
dont take this class ever, it will be the wost mistake of your whole life. This guy is about as cool as pubic lice
He gives hard assignments and grades you based on effort on those assignments. He then gives you the right answers in class and posted online, and tests directly from those assignments. Just leave your tough guy attitude at the door and you'll be fine.
He is so nice and loves to teach science! Although his tests are tough and he expects a lot he is entertaining to watch in class and means well. By far one of the best science profs at Bryant :)
Intersting guy. As long as you got to class and do the work, you should have only minor issues. Keeps class fun & interesting. Recommended science class
projects will put a gun to your head, HW is easy, test are kind of easy. But he deff. still plays dungens & dragons. He know everything there is to know, and if he doesn't like you your in trouble. over all gut it out for a C/B and you'll be a better person. Be on time for class and Mind The Mullet.
Ton of work for this class... slows down towards the end of the year but still a lot. However if you put in the effort he will help you out and grade you fairly. Good guy even though kind of wierd
He is the smartest man ever alive, or at least he thinks it. He likes to give students an entire 50 minute presentation, the whole class day is a presentation. He is a very hypocritical professor. I dont know why people give him good ratings on here, maybe because he checks it during class.
Good class, but professor is an **shole and unfair hypocrate. If he does not like you and you dont go see him in his office (which is comletely impossible to do b/c always busy) he will make your life misarable. So if you want to get a good grade prepare your lips for some butt kissing.
Astronomy was decent. Interesting grading system. Prepare for a LOT of math- much more than expected. Helpful with things, but the questions for exams and homework are sometimes totally out of the blue (or appear so to his students). Don't miss the BUS!
It's a good thing this class is fairly easy. He is too arrogant for his own good.
This guy knows his stuff better than anyone. Formulas are obscure, but the class experiments make it interesting. Anyone know he's in a BAND? He's a cool cat and always willing to help.
Not a bad class, but two reports that were a pain in the ass because one you had to print out the 7 day forecast everyday for a month and the other was a debate which you didnt know which side you were going to debate until like a minute before you present
Professor scares you with projects, and harsh words on how he is going to grade. The truth of the matter is that he is an easy grader. He assigns lots of work though, so if you don't like doing work and just like reading the book this professor isn't for you.
First, if your not very good in intelluctual Physics, then drop it. Easy if you reallly know your stuff. The dude is a complete Star Trek weirdo who thinks no one is better than him. Smart tho and sometimes funny. Mad long hair.
I keep seeing these students talk about the fact that he looks like a sci-fi nerd, and his long hair. Who cares? If you tools could hang in his class, this would not phase you at all. You give Bryant a bad name, with your lack of intellectual curiosity. It's irresponsible. Blais is the shiz, and that's the end of it!!!!
ok captain science, listen, its a science course at a business school, chill outtt and put more effort into something that you will actually use in your life
Very good professor. If you are willing to work, he is willing to work with you. Class is very enjoyable. You will always be doing something new and interesting.
wow I dont understand how people like this guy - he is redic. he makes you do a huge paper at the end of the semester that is nearly impossible and he has no order to the class -- you have no clue what he is going to do. the paper which is nearly 50pgs is basically the only grade
Space Science... thats all i have to say!!!
I hate science...with a passion. But Blais makes it worth coming to class. He is a funny guy, great personality, and he makes the material bearable. Attendence is optional, he keeps you up to date with your grade. If you dont like Blais - go home.
Captain Science is the man! The workload is heavy and you will be forced to do a LOT of independent thinking, but you really do learn a lot and are rewarded for your effort in the end. DEFINITELY take Blais in order to get the fullest out of your Bryant experience.
interesting class. unlikely to be offered again for a while. you'll learn a lot from the guy
Blais is awesome. I didn't do that well in his course, but that's completely my fault. You need to be prepared to work and constantly draw back on previous lessons, like true classwork. Interesting and very intelligent man. If you want to learn something, take Blais.
instructors teachers class as if we are suppose to know as much as an Astrophysist. Take with Francine Jackson if possible. This guy sucks and has attitude.
Have nothing positive to say about this guy. He is another example of someone who grew up in the middle of nowhere, in his case Vermont, went to school all his life, and now wants to make sure as a teacher his students go through the same b.s. he went through at Brown. This guy doesn't understand..this is a business college---stupid!
Great guy! And humble too!
This man is the worst professor I have ever had at Bryant. He thinks he is Socrates and doesn't give clear directions on what he expects out of you-making it impossible to satisfy his grading requirements. He took off points for the font used on powerpoints.Exams are impossible because he doesn't teach the material.Save yourself the drop slip & avoid
pretty straight forward. good science class for a business student
Its unfortunate that using the bathroom is so frowned upon. It was not a comforable learning environment at all. If you want to spend your time in high pressure situations, and see yourself being a very punctual meteorolgist, this guy rocks! unless you arent good at excel
thinks very highly of himself, and is very rude and pompous. Very unclear in his directions, and has high expectations to follow a very specific model that is in his head. Hated this class
Physics with this guy can be difficult if you do not understand his way of teaching, otherwise, it is very manageable. Good teacher, pretty full of himself, but then again I would be too if I was him. Cool guy.
I took meteorology class with that guy. RUN away from him, if you already there just drop it! I hated that class. He thinks way too much of himself. Horrible experiece.
awful. just awful. thinks he is the greatest person on earth. thinks you know everything he does, therefore if you don't know something, he gets very critical. also not helpfull AT ALL.DO NOT take him.
Easily the smart professor at Bryant. Class is way interesting - challenging, but in a good way.
Blais is the man. The work can be challenging at times but he is always just an email away and responds quickly and thoughtfully. If you put effort into doing well in the class then your grade will reflect that. He grades more fairly than any other professor I've had in regards to understanding whether or not a student understood the concept or not
I had no idea what I was doing throughout the semester but if you ask him for help he will basically do everything for you. He is super smart so he can get caught up in his lectures and go too fast, the key is to ask questions! He will always email you back, or schedule an office meeting or Skype session. Hard concepts but he is very helpful.
Very fair grader. Some of his policies are really annoying (if he doesn't know your name after 3 weeks you get an extra homework assignment, locks the door the second the class begins). Put in the effort, pay attention and you will pass. Granted the class I took probably wasn't the hardest that he teaches but he is fair and willing to help.
Super cool dude. Absolutely the bomb yo.
This guy doesn't understand we are taking the class as a requirement and pretends we actually want to learn the most intricate and specific content in the subject, and grades as such, don't take, he will waste your time for content u will forget right after the exam and never use. STAY AWAY
Brian Blais may be the goofiest, nerdiest guy I know. This dude lives for science. He will make you explain the craziest stuff giving you only like 1/10 of the information you need to explain it, but he teaches you how to go through the process. If you take astro, be ready to explain the age of the universe using the speed of light and light waves.
awful professor. Very vague in what he expects from students. Wouldn't recommend taking him. Learn nothing in class.
Blais is a great professor and really challenges you to think critically to complete homework assignments. The questions are nearly impossible unless you go see him at his office hours. Iv'e never had a more helpful professor who was always available to help his students. He cares about your success and I really recommend taking him!
Professor Blais is a great guy and cares about everyone. The only problem is the way he grades. It makes you stressed out for the whole semester. If you want to do well in his class make sure you redo all of the homework until you get a "cc". You wont know your grade until the last week. This class will take over your life.
This teaching style was horrible for me. I never want to have a professor like him again.
Brian Blais is a hilarious guy. He is super caring and will make time to help you, and you'll definitely need it. The homework is nearly impossible but if you take 15 minutes out of your week to go see him he will explain exactly how to get to the solution. Highly recommend taking him if youre willing to do a little work
Do not take his classes unless required too for your major. You do not know your progression/grade until your final. The lectures were easy to understand but never reflected the homework or exams! You will need to work extremely hard to get a desirable grade.
Absolutely the worst experience ive ever had in a classroom hands down. ive never listened to a lecture so many times that has nothing to do with the homework and tests in my whole life.
lovessssss to not teach whats going to be on the exam, truly a terrible learning experience
Professor Blais is a great guy, he wants us to do well, he sets up his grading system so we are more likely to succeed. His homework is intensive and more often than not confusing, but hes always available to help. Its just annoying to always have to ask questions because his word problems are so bizarre. Dont wait till last minute for homework.
Brian Blais is interesting to say the least. His classes aren't THAT bad and you're basically guaranteed an A, but this man is mental torture. He doesn't believe a single word that you say and thinks he is the smartest person in the room by far. I do not understand how anyone can love this man.
If you actually enjoy learning and like knowledge then this class is for you, if not then treat it like COVID and stay 6 ft away. He will discuss literally anything with you in an intelligent and interesting way, including road formation. deadass. That man rocks Asics sneakers like no one else.
Professor Blais is extremely knowledgeable on what he teaches and you can tell that he is passionate about it. Homework load is medium, but all of the homework increases your understanding of the topic. Blais is funny and he cares about all of his students, as long as you put the effort forward, you should have no problem doing well in his class.
He's very smart and knows physics well. But, it's Physics 1, and we were expected to have a foundation in the material. I felt like I was in a physics class for grad students. Doesn't provide formulas. Exam questions are like "How many hamsters would it take to power the sun?" With no information given. Very vague. Do not take if you dont have to!!
Very smart guy. Expects us all to be as smart as him. You need a background in excel or you won't do well. Each lab took me on average 5 hours to complete, with help from my classmates. If I didn't have friends in the lab, I would have failed. Don't take unless you are naturally good at physics or unless you have to. This is the worst grade I have.
Professor Blais is a knowledgeable and interesting guy. A true scientist in every aspect and will give you his opinion whether you like it or not. Encourages students to think outside the box and be creative with assignments unlike any other professor I have had. Not for everyone but I would highly recommend if you want a class different than usual
Ok so he himself does limited teaching he relies on what's out there on the internet to teach. Then if you don't do a problem the way he did it you get penalized for it. Grade entirely calculated from tests. Grades pretty hard and develops clear favorites. Also gives very vague questions that leave you to fill in the gaps. Worst Class Experience!
Professor Blais is a really nice guy, but this physics class is HARD. The grading criteria is really confusing until you get halfway through the semester when it finally clicks. The class feels like a theoretical physics class for in-depth physics lovers. He is willing to take feedback though, so if you put in the effort, you'll be okay.
Does not explain material very well and goes over the materials in class way too fast. Homework's that are assigned are very hard and do not really help for the exam or tests . This class is very reliant on exam taken in class. This was easily the worst class experience I have had at Bryant.
Professor Blais is one of the best professors at Bryant. Always in a great mood, always ready to help, always friendly, and very passionate about what he is doing. Definitely go to his office hours, it was very helpful.
Blais is a professor that you should take if you need to and only if you need to. He's a good dude, but he isn't very clear with what does or doesn't need to be done on projects and other assignments. The final project is one of the worst things I've ever had to do. Blais is the only person who has made me have hallucinations of Lebron at 1am.
Don't trust the coin.
I guess he is a decent professor if you ignore all the unnecessary weirdness and massive ego he brings. Overall, I would not take him. I do not think anybody in this class respects him as a professor or even as a person. Being in the presence of this man on a weekly basis was grueling and I would not wish an interaction with him on my worst enemy.
the worst professor at Bryant University. Save yourself the time and energy and do not take this man. You lose brain cells and years in life whilst taking his class. By far the worst professor and class i have ever had at Bryant University.
This dude constantly compared himself to Lebron and Rick Ross. Kinda weird but I guess he's alright other wise
If I found a time machine, the first thing I would do is go back in time and tell myself not to go anywhere near this class/ professor. Worst Professor I have ever had; get ready to do as much useless busy work in this class as you have in every other one combined. Whatever you do, do not take a class with this man unless absolutely necessary.
Dude's awesome! super experienced guy with lot's of experience! He has been to every town in the state of Rhode Island too
I've never wanted to drink so many beers for a 9:30 class until I came to this class. Gonna need it for when he calls you out in class. Wait until you have to read his chicken scratch when you try to either study for the exams or for the mountains of homework. So fun!
absolute goober!
Guy's nice, maybe
If you put "Professor you never want to have" into an AI generator, it would spit this guy out. hard tests, no direction given in class. more homework then the lawyers of the OJ case. DO NOT TAKE!!
No way the rest of these reviews are real...bots. If you've taken his class you'd know it's like passing a kidney stone. You never want to do that again!
definitely has a touch of the tism and it very passive aggressive. you don't learn anything besides how to do very specific problems that don't generalize to anything. one time told us we would have to do extra homework if he didn't know our names bc it was our fault. don't even get me started on how awful his lab is aswell
Dont take this class if you cant learn fast. he gives one practice problem per concept and then one homework practice problem. there is a decent amount of homework but do not skip it as these are the exact same questions that are on the exam. he's a nice guy who loves physics and is willing to help.
Buckle up - this class is a wild ride! The prof's quirks can be a lot, but using Unstuck ai and the free textbook helps make it manageable. Worth it if you engage with the material.
HW's are all random hypothetical problems he makes up (i.e., convert cheeseburgers to gasoline and calculate how far you could drive a 2010 BMW M3). good luck passing without AI, because that's the only thing that can understand his brain. Super nice guy but a bozo of a professor. Lot's of little quirks that reflect in how he grades. touch of tism
