Arrogant. Pure and simple. Hard grader, much more than a 200 level class should be. Gives very little to no direction for assignments, then slams you when you didn't write what he expected. Yeah, he knows his stuff, but c'mon, I'm here to learn, not have him prove what he knows.

Dr. Boeck is a well-respected historian and professor. I took his class online, and he had my classmates and me go into breakout rooms often. He grades us with very few assignments; however, his teaching is quite valuable for those looking to learn the basics of historical research. Be prepared to read a lot and have stuff to say in class!

I wasn't a fan of this professor. He was very passionate about what he taught but I had no idea what my grade looked like until it was too late to fix it. He used our midterm grade as our final and allowed us to raise it by a mark through the final exam and essay. Just wish there was a clearer grading system.

This Professor is not worth your time or energy. He is not understanding and he yelled at me during a zoom meeting. If I were you, I would avoid this Professor and his classes.

Lowkey this dude kinda cool. He's v knowledgeable---albeit a bit pretentious---but if you get past that he's worth it to take. I learned the most in his hist class than in any other. Can take online, but u have to turn ur camera on and he cold calls people, but asks very easy qs, dw. I hated him at the start but loved him at the end. Just read tho!

I dropped this class because the professor yelled at me and another student and kicked us out of the zoom meeting. I'd recommend waiting and taking this class with a different professor.

There is so much reading and some of it doesn't make a lot of sense but if you don't understand he'll kick you out or embarrass you in front of the class. There were hardly any written assignments so your grade is mostly based on participation.
