His tests are not too bad at all if you study the class notes. He makes every effort to give you opportunities to pass his class by either extra credit or a slight curve on the test if people did bad. He is very clear in his teaching style.

Brian is an excellent teacher, however, he has issues with rounding UP a grade. Even if you are .5 away from another letter grade, he will not give it to you.Even if you have been to every single class
He has easy quizes, but very difficult tests. Don't study the notes because they are definitely not on the test! He is a nice person, but not a good teacher. HE NEVER CURVES!!! If you need a good grade in BSC1086...don't take him especially for lab!
Good instructor.Great syllabus(handout).Exams are challenging but not too tough.Very fair grader.Provides levity during lectures.Recommended.
Great at giving examples that make things easier to understand.
Clear and to the point. Presents all material needed for great grades.
Great teacher. He'll make you work hard, but your grade will be fair.
Good solid teacher. He's strict, but not mean. He works you hard, but in the end it's worth it b/c you know your A&P. If you don't think you will do well, drop the class, do not wait till the end and try to recooperate. You need to know your stuff from the beginning and if you don't then drop it.
If you want to really learn A&P, then he's the teacher to go to. He's 100 times better than any instructor I've taken at USF! He can make the material difficult, but he tends to make you study more than you need to (at least he did for me). He makes the class very interesting. Definitely take him!
Brian is a very good teacher. His quizzes are easy and his tests are very tough. He MAKES you know your stuff. His lab is great also. He is very kind and if his classes are not doing well he will curve the test grades. If you want to really know your stuff take his class
I would recommend this teacher for anyone who is willing to study. You can't get by on just notes, you do have to read the book as well. Teaches in terms that are on your level, not a doctorate level. Great alternative to Petrillo!!
Do NOT take him for lab. He is ok for lecture but take someone else for lab.
he is excellent about teaching the material. he is all about a win win teaching learning situation. You benefit re learning and the grade. he is very conscientious about academic honesty and you owning knowledge as a result of this course.

He is a great teacher! Take him if you are willing to study. He is very helpful and give great examples to help you remember material for the tests.
This is one of the worst teachers that I have ever had. I do not recommend him to anyone.
will work as hard for you as your willing to work for yourself i loved his class even though i got a b when i studied for an a but loved him anyway difficult to get an a but he makes himself availiable for individual tutoring
he makes the class very interesting.
Does his best to make a difficult subject easy to understand and remember. This class requires a great deal of studying no matter who you take it with. He gives quizzes once a week and exams are hard, but do help you prepare for future medical exams. Overall, he's a good instructor and a nice guy.
Mr. Brillinger is sometimes commical, but his demeanor in help is totally not there...he acts like he just doesn't care whether you pass or drop. I W'd, and re-enrolled at another campus and it was exactly what I wanted to get out of this course!
Great teacher if your willing to study. Shows concern for students, and is very helpful. He explains things until everyone understands and gives good examples. I recomend him to everyone!!
You have to WORK in his class but when you are done you will be ready for nursing classes.
he is an awesome and very intelligent teacher. he will answer any questions you have. I can tell he loves what he teaches. He's very medically humorous. There is a lot of study time outside of class, but that just comes with the course. I'm definately taking him for A&P2
Great person but hard teacher. His tests are very hard and his quizes are fill in the blank.I recommend Sue Shuman @ Spc/tarpon.I didn't pass his class but I passed hers with a B. Her tests come from what she says in class and her quizes are multiple choice. She also has bonus ?'s for quiz, test, and extra credit.
Mr B rocks!!
He's very by the book, but is overall a good teacher. He even took us to the park for a feild trip. Open note quizes but the test are very hard.
He makes sure you KNOW the material, or you won't pass. Great lectures, very structured, explains everything he wants you to know/will test you on. HIGHLY recommended.
Highly recommended- Not easy, but he makes sure you KNOW the material. Also very entertaining.
Very good teacher! I would reccomend taking him for A&P, don't get stuck with Gingrich! He is helpful and will explain something to you if you have questions. Quiz every class and fill in the blank tests, which were great! A lot of studying, but you learn so much.
Awesome teacher, I wish I could take him for all my classes!
this class is very hard, but he makes sure you learn everything, the test are on the notes that you take in class, he teaches you cool ways to remember everything, i highly recommend him.
Mr B rocks! The class is tough but he makes it fun with his stories! He makes sure you know the material and is always there to help! Take him!
awesome teacher! funny. extremely informative
He is awesome, the best teacher for this subject. hes clear as can be, will repeat if necc, will go back if the class doesnt understand and apprently knows his matterial well enough that he knows what areas to explain more in depth. hes hard but he wants u to know ur material and prepars u for a better carrier and help in future med tests! TAKE HIM
Great teacher, very helpful!!...lect tests suck no matter what you do! labs werent bad at all as long as you study!! study for the quizzes bc they will make or break ur grade in the end!! i would recommend taking him for A&P 1 and 2!
Great Teacher...Quizzes help...study ... use your noggin and youll do fine!
Hey is an awesome teacher, the class is hard but he makes it fun and as easy as it can get, if you don't get it, ask and he will explain it in a way that you will understand. Prepare for a quiz every week, if you thought a&P 1 was hard, you haven't seen nothing yet, highly recommended! Hard class but fun.

wonderful! couldn't say enough great things! makes the class interesting and you learn a lot. the only down side is the amount of material you have to learn, but that would come with any anat class. second time taking him, if you learn the material and actually study you should do fine. not a course for laziness. hope to have him for other classes!
Love his teaching technique. He's funny and keeps it interesting. Highly recommend. Can't say enough about him. Plus, he's easy on the eyes too:) ENJOY!
Fun stories, learned a lot, good teacher.
i took him for micro, and he was great! it was a fairly easy class and i remembered alot! highly recommended!
Mr. B is great! The class is very hard and you have to keep up with notes. Weekly quizzes are easy but make sure you pass them all they might determine your grade in the end!!! Record his lectures and re-write all notes! it really helps. He's super nice and understands that the class is hard. He's always there to help if you don't get something!
Great teahcer. Would not take it with anyone else.

Mr. B rocks. It is ALOT of material, but he's the best teacher to have if you need everything broken down and explained if you're like me. I'm taking II right now and probably will be taking it again but I will be taking it with him because he's the best.Don't get discouraged, he's always willing to help.
Good teacher. Lots of studying.
YOU HAVE TO STUDY IN THIS CLASS- OK TEACHER FOR THE MOST PART BUT MOST OF THE TEST QUESTIONS COME FROM THE BOOK EVEN THOUGH YOU TAKE TONS OF NOTES- AND YOU HAVE TO READ THE WHOLE CHAP TO MAKE SURE YOU DO WELL ON HIS TESTS... HE DOESNT OFFER ANY EXTRA CREDIT EITHER- BUT OVERALL HE WAS OK-
I have to laugh at those who are unhappy. If you can't understand the anatomy with him, you have no business going into Nursing or the Medical field. I had him for I & II and he is the best, if you do not think so take someone easy so you can pass and when you get into a program you will be wishing you had a clue. Mr. B is GREAT!!!
good teacher, explains material, willing to help, funny
Took this online. It was easy but moved entirely too slow. We were not able to work ahead or anything. The discussions were unorganized, however we didn’t have one every week so that was good. tests were pretty easy and based on the PowerPoint’s so watch those and you should do quite well.
He made class & subject interesting.Explains things pretty well, loves to answer questions,& gives a list of what will be on exams. Is funny and gives stories to help you remember stuff.Take LOTS of notes and don't miss class. He gives a quiz[stuff from notes]every week, which kept you on your toes.No extra credit.Didn't pass but would recommend him!!
I just took micro this summer. Let me start by saying that I got A's in ANP I & II w/ a very hard professor @ HCC. The best I could do with him was a B+ and I study like crazy. I put at least 20-25 hrs a week for his class. The class is interesting, and he is a nice guy, but he is very inconsistent. You should study everything & don't trust him!!!
He is okay. Lecture w/ him was fine, explains things well. No xtra credit though. Tests are very hard, study everything in the BOOK!! For lab he was a bit distant and seemed annoyed when Q's were asked. Overall nice guy, class is hard!! Study DAILY and go down to HEC for practice and help.
Not very helpful.
Excellent teacher! Makes sure you are prepared for your career. Class is hard, tests are hard. You must study a lot!! Quizzes each week straight from notes(easy). Lots of material in Lab as well, but straight forward. I dropped the class due to a change in my major, but if I decide to take in future I would not hesitate to take with him.
Awesome teacher. His tests are a little tricky, but if you know the material it is fine. This isn't a class that you will just breeze through. It does require alot of studying, but he makes it EXTREMELY interesting and gives simples quizzes every other week to help boost your grade. I would definitely recommend him for both A&P 1 and 2.
He was not a good teacher. Whenever we would go over our tests in class and he would ask how many got this question wrong ( and alot of people would raise theire hand) he would be like o ok.!!?? Um hello that should say something!!!
Awesome teacher! He made anatomy fun but in order to do well you have to know the material. He is one of my favorite teachers. Highly recommend taking him.
Great person and prof. I saw so many ppl flunk out of his class because THEY DID NOT STUDY. If you cant pass this class you cannot be trusted to work in the medical field.
He is a GREAT teacher ppl only fail because they dont study. he tells you EXACTLY what you need to know if you dont take good notes get a recorder its invaluble in his lecture. Hes been teaching for many years and really knows how to make it easy to learn, which is good because in A&P there is SO much stuff to commit to memory. Take him if you can
It was a very hard class, but he explained everything well and willingly answered any question. He gave easy quizzes once a week (if you studied) and 4 exams (dificult).
While a very thorough professor, he lacked a good bedside manner. Some of his remarks left me feeling very embarrased and insignificant. I don't recommend him!
Knows his stuff & explains everything. Has a cadence in his voice that if you listen carefully, will que you to what's important to remember. Tests are straightforward. Tricky yes, but HA&P is not an easy subject. Labs are challenging. He plays no games & sets the bar high. He expects students to study & learn. Will definately take him again.
AWESOME instructor, study in this class not an easy subject.
I took online class but very easy. He has powerpoint available and gives weekly quizzes. I enjoyed this class very much. I would definitely recommend this class to anyone.
This class is only difficult if you don't study! Brillinger is an excellent instructor, and has a great sense of humor. His exams are tough, but it is A&P after all.
Great instructor, will explain the difficult parts thoroughly (and there are quite a few) and give you a heads up if you don't need to know something so you don't waste time cramming it in your head. Gives memorable examples. This is a tough class and he won't babysit you, but he is fair.
Professor Brillinger is an excellent teacher. His teaching style helps you remember critical material. I would highly recommend him - he is very helpful.
Goog guy. A little arrogant but justified on some level. Knows his stuff. If you pay attention you not only learn but you get an A. He's not as difficult as he claims to be.
I would recommend him to anyone! The class is very difficult to begin with, but he helps you in any way he can. The weekly quizzes he gives are a big help in the end. Also, even through some of the most dry material he found a way to make the class laugh. TAKE HIM!!!
Great teacher, but expects you to spend a lot of time outside of class on his subject. Very good at explaining things and helping out.
I hate this class. I took it when I didn't need to-STUPID! It is so rediculously difficult! If you don't need it, don't take it! Brillinger is a fabulous teacher, but it goes so quick and you are expected to learn so much! 1 quiz a week and 4 or 5 tests.
Great teacher. Highly recommend!! Very hard class though. Pay attention and study ALOT and you'll do good.
Hes a good teacher considering the subject. he does expect you to dedicate your life to his class though. i wouldnt suggest him anatomy lecture but for anatomy lab hes great. he gets really into detail though and expects you to know it.
AMAZING TEACHER! i would take any class he teaches he can make anything fun and interesting. has a cool story to go along with almost everything. completely engages class and draws your attention. you cant help but want to listen. HIGHLY RECOMMEND this teacher. read the book. tests are tough but doable. def worth it every min
Explains everything really well. Teaches the way other college professors do. Must go to class
I took him for Anatomy 1 and 2 lecture and lab as well as microbiology lecture and lab. So I had 6 classes with him so I think I know lol...Hes HARD my suggestion is if you want to become a nurse take another teacher! If you take him you will deff learn something but will most likely not walk out with an A or B which you need for nursing!
I took him only for lab. Take your camera to class and take pictures and create labeled powerpoints to study from. You will do great. He isnt a easy nor a hard teacher. The class is doable if you try hard enough. Take Brillinger for any A&P2 class!
You need to dedicate A LOT of your time to his class thats all i have to say..AND STUDY STUDY STUDY
the best teacher for A and P! this is a very very hard class to take and mr. b makes it fun and enjoyable. you HAVE TO STUDY THERE IS NO WAY AROUND IT.he does repeat himself twice with everything he says and he does want everyone to get As. he even gives you a mini review for the tests.
Brillinger does not make the class hard, it's tough material by itself. He fully prepares you for what you need to know, you just have to be willing to put the time in studying. He has a fun sense of sarcastic humor and he definitely isn't boring.
Prof. B. is the teacher you want for A&P 1 & 2, labs and Micro... You leave knowing the information and really sets you ahead. He expects you to work for the grade but that is studying, ready, and being there for class... Highly recommended...
a&p11 is hard in itself he gives 3 tests 1 final with quizzes that he will for the most part tell you what its going to be on. He does some helpful drawings and gives you ways to remember concepts. Lots of studying & his lab was extremely helpful. Highly recommend Mr. B he really knows his stuff and I learned ALOT.
Mr. B is one of those teachers who makes a difficult subject much easier to understand. He also makes it interesting and gives good tips and stories on how to remember the material. A&P II is much easier than A&P I. Get the supplement, take notes, record the lectures& study. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND HIM!! Take him for Lab & Lecture.Worth the drive!
Brillinger is an excellent teacher and makes the subject much easier to learn. He gives great drawings and repeats everything. He is highly reccommended.
Mr. Brillinger explains complicated concepts clearly and has consistent office hours if you need additional help. His tests were not easy but if you study your notes AND the textbook, you will do well.
He is clear about his objectives and explains everything in plain english. Quizzes almost every class but they are fairly easy if you studied your notes. 3 exams and a final which are difficult multiple choice 50 questions but if you understand the concepts and read ther chapters youll do fine. Perfect instructor for health education students!!
The class is not easy by any means, but Mr. B makes the best of it. He explains difficult concepts in a way that is easy for us to understand. His tests can be difficult because he is preparing you for state board type exams. I ended with an A in lecture and lab for both AP1&2 so it's definitely possible
TAKE HIM! He is very helpful and understanding. Possibly the best teacher at SPC. This class was not an easy A, so don't take it expecting the coast through it.
Took him for Microbiology this summer as well as A + P 2 in a previous semester. Very smart and funny. My favorite teacher I've had, I learned so much and I enjoyed his sense of humor.
I had him for A&P2 lecture and lab. The class itself is incredibly hard and requires an immense amount of studying. I took it in the summer term so all the information was a bit squished together. He makes the material easier to understand, but read the book for more clarification. He repeats everything twice and sometimes draws pictures too.
I can't figure out why he has such good ratings. I found him to be an awful teacher and he gives a small quiz each week but only gives about three minutes to answer the questions(they are multiple write in answers). I don't even write that fast! I had to drop him for A&P II . It would not have been a good situation if I had of stayed.
Mr. Brillinger is an Amazing Teacher. It is a fun class and you will learn alot. Make sure you study because his tests are not the easy.
good teacher and knows his subjects. lab is straightforward so you know what to study.lecture is very hard.taking notes in class n studying is not enough. he does not give enough study material.would have to read the book 3 times to get an A or B. Tricky exams also. disappointed for the intense studying time put in for a c.
Brillinger teaches with a passion that is rare in teachers today. He's teaching a difficult subject matter, however he puts things in terms easy to understand. He shows examples and gives plenty of opportunity to ask questions. He is a teacher worth taking for a student that is taking school seriously. Not a class you can pass without studying.
Prof. Brillinger makes a very difficult class fun. Pay attention to what he says in lecture - he drops some hints without saying so. The course is really tough - but he makes it entertaining. He encourages questions and discussion - which is always good.
I had this Professor for A&P2 Lecture (grade B) & Lab(A). He goes over the course outline, Take good notes or tape lecture class!! He does give out hints to quizzes/tests so LISTEN. You have to set aside a lot of study time! Go to Open Lab, form a study group! I am so glad I took this class with him, I learned so much! It was a fun but hard class!
If you don't like a sarcastic fun sense of humor, then don't take him. If you want to learn and have fun, take him. He gives quizzes every week, but if you study your notes from the prior week you should not have a problem passing them. His tests are hard and tricky so understand the concepts or you won't pass Lab was pretty Easy I got an A.
Mr. Brillinger was an awesome teacher. Sure he might be a little tough here and there, but a great teach nonetheless. He was very approachable and extremely helpful with any question you may have. He is very straight forward with what you need to know. Take him for ANY science class.
Brillinger is a GREAT teacher and makes anatomy very easy to understand. His tests are super hard because he tests like the boards would.(2nd time taking this class with him). You NEED TO STUDY in order to pass this class. I would definetly recommend him. Also, be to class on TIME he does pop quizzes to make sure you are there on the dot.
The best teacher at SPC. He teaches with passion and makes class interesting. If you are serious about pursuing a health profession then you need to take him to get a feel of how it will be. He is not hard but the subject itself is hard. He breaks things down and gives funny examples for u to remember. AMAZING TEACHER..MUST TAKE.
Mr.B is great! The class is hard period no matter who you take. But he knows his stuff and can answer any question. Record ALL of the classes, it helps rewriting your notes. Expect to study about 10-20 hours for lecture and lab and use the tutors in open lab!
Do NOT wait until right before the test to study.. You will not do well. Mr.B is great! He expects you to understands how things work together not just memorize what was said. Ask questions when you don't understand. Use the open lab and tutors and you can get an A
Mr.B is a cool guy but his class is VERY hard! I took him for a&pI & II! In lecture you take notes & have a quiz every week. There's so much info to learn, you have to stay on top of reading the book & reviewing/rewriting notes or youll get behind. same goes for lab. I just wish he wouldve given us more study ideas cause its so overwhelming.
He is a great teacher! He makes sures to break the information down so the students can understand it, attendance is important because you learn alot just from the notes he gives.Tests are hard but that's only because the course materials are hard. If you listen, study, do your work, you will pass. The A&P CD helps alot with putting things together.
Took his A&P1 class online over summer. He uses Dr. Naravane's notes, ppt's and lectures. All the quizzes and tests are multiple choice. Plenty of time given to look through the notes while taking the tests. Very easy as long as you read what is asked. I got a B+.
I took a&p three times and the third time i took brillinger online. he is pretty self explanitory. you listen to the power point; take notes; print out his notes; plenty of time to take quizzes and test. hes awesome. i recommend him to everyone. please take him. youll be doing yourself a favor
He's a pretty cool guy and he teaches his subject very well, trying to make sure you know the information. The only downside is that he uses tricky test questions, so even if you know the material you might not do too well
All my life I have been able to get by without studying but I actually had to study hard for his A&P 1 class. Take advantage of any Extra Credit, you'll thank yourself later. I learned A LOT and he makes the material fun at times.
He was easy to understand and easy to listen to. He makes the class fun and helps us remember all the material. hours of study is a must for this class, however, this teacher is the one to get you through it with a strong B.
Had for lab and lecture very helpful and easy to understand. Uses multiple techniques to ensure understanding. WEEKLY quizes for both lab and lecture (NOT EASY). Must show up for every class. Tests arn't easy (3 for Lecture + Final) (2 + FInal for lab). I learned a lot from this class great prof, just hard. Recieved a B in both.
This was my first semester with Mr.B- A&P2. The material is challenging, but if you dedicate 4hrs of study to 1hr of lecture, like you are supposed to, you will succeed. Mr.B is a great teacher and is very helpful. Weekly quizzes over prior class notes and tests are based on your comprehension. Stay on top of it and you will succeed. I got an A+!
This is THE best teacher for anatomy. I've taken him both for anatomy 1 & 2. If you want to fully understand anatomy and all of it's components this is the class for you. If you do not want to put the time in do not take this class! You have to really study you cannot slack of. There is a quiz each week and 3 tests & a final.Final is cumulative!
Online class. Lesson Objectives were extremely useful for tests. Powerpoints were also great. I wish there were more interactive lessons for this class since it was all online. Also, there was inconsistency with some materials which was frustrating, but that's what Google is for, right? He's a busy guy and I felt like our class was an afterthought.
He is apathetic and non-existent to his online classes - never gives feedback. I guess he is too busy teaching other classes. Quizzes are tricky & not based on book but extra web reading.Tests are on campus proctored - does seem to care about his students
I'm in A&P 1 right now and barely making it through. I'm not one of those slacker kids who don't put forth the effort. I'm spending the majority of my time on this class. He's a wonderful teacher, but his tests are ridiculously hard. His tests have trick questions and people who work in medicine in this class can't even figure his tests out.
Would not recommend him unless you are VERY knowledgable in medical field. He does NOT go up and above to help you learn. I found his lecture slightly better than lab..BUT he can be arrogant at times and got an attitude when asked to point out a structure during a dissection. Will not take him for A&P 2. My advice is take another instructor.
Mr. Brillinger is the BEST A&P teacher. I was very concerned going into this program that I wouldn't be able to keep up, but he relates everything to students in a way we can easily interpret. I am taking him for A&P 2, lecture and lab this time around. I highly recommend him to all students! He is also very knowledgable of the course material.
Great teacher. 3 tests 1 final drops lowest test. if you go to class and take good notes you should do well. i also recommend recording the lectures he goes fast and gives lots of info
He is non-existent to his online classes - never gives feedback. Quizzes are very tricky his material is all from Naravane with his questions. They are not all based on book but extra google searching. 4 Tests and they are on campus proctored. 15 quizzes and they cover more than the assigned readings. I made an A but I worked super hard. HORRIBLE!!
Great teacher but hard to pass his class. I will not take him for any class. There s not enough room to pass this class.
No question you will work your butt off in this class. I took it online and don't understand why the last commenter said the teacher doesn't respond. I always got an answer back in 24 hours. The tests and quizzes are hard but if you read the notes and listen to the audio clips the information is all there. Too hard? Take a face to face class.
DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS!!!! I would never take this professor again.Pop quizzes every week, Extremely Difficult test And no matter how good your notes are his test are ridiculously hard. Dont take his lab either its the same way.Horrible experience-
BEST PROFESSOR EVER! He makes you work hard and challenges you to know your stuff which will prepare you for your state boards. If you slack, you won't be prepared for the boards so learn it the correct way the first time around.
DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR! He gets distracted very easily and rushes through the notes. He spent one day on an entire chapter and gave us no time to ask questions and the test was the next class. Pop quizzes every week. Test are impossible. I spent hours studying and did all kinds of practice quizzes and still did not pass. Horrible teacher.
This professor knows his material as opposed to reciting out of the book. He not only teaches the material but how to learn the material (a rare attribute) He has a sense of humor which reflects his intelligence. I had this professor for A&P I, II and Microbiology and he was excellent.
I you want to actually learn and retain this material, take this professor. If you're just trying to meet a credit requirement, take someone else. You must read the textbook and go to class to get an A. He uses lots of different resources to present the material. I found this class very fascinating and would take another class with this teacher
I had him this past semester. Down right horrible. If he begins to talk about something non-class related, he can easily go for 30min without stopping and rushes at the end to cover all the material. Attendance is a must. Take all quizzes seriously, memorize all the chapters before an exam. I don't want my grade given to me, but this guy sucks.
This professor is good online. I can see what people are saying that they have to memorize everything but it is very straightforward online. I wouldn't say to memorize every single page, but memorize the powerpoints and the entire labs. Take him online, don't get intimidated. Its not that bad.
Great Teacher! Although it is a difficult class unless science is your thing, he makes it understandable. Definitely recommend him!
I am so glad I took Mr. Brillinger for both A&P classes and Labs. I am in a medical program now and his style of teaching prepared me for the classes I'm taking now, I learned so much! If you take his classes it will make your future classes easier. No death by powerpoint!
Great online class. Took it online, and Mr. Brillinger was always quick to respond to emails and questions.
LOVED THIS PROFESSOR!!! He is absolutely the best teacher and I have learned SO much. I knew nothing about A&P before so no, you don't have to know things about the subject prior to taking the class. He tells you EXACTLY what will be on quizzes and tests and above all that he is a nice and funny guy and makes teaching fun!
Brillinger is overall a good professor, he will teach you everything there is to know and beyond about a & p. The downside is he takes a little too much pride in his knowledge of anatomy, and tests on obscure difficult areas just for the sake of him showing off.. The reality is he has no clinical background and thus doesn't focus on the essentials.
Professor B is a great professor who knows a lot! I loved how he related topics to certain everyday things so that the material would stick in the students' minds. He is extremely tough, and you will not catch a break with him. Nevertheless, I preferred his teaching style better than my lecture professor.
I took Mr. Brillinger for A&P I Lab and I must say I am thoroughly pleased with the experience. His teaching style is very clear and easy to understand, he tells you what to know and study for the tests and allows you to interact with the models for clarity. A simple way to summarize this course is tough but fair, do the work and you'll pass.
His class is pretty indepth and take a lot of study time but if you want to know the material take this class!!
In terms of Human Anatomy, this was a fairly easy class. If you put in the time and effort there is no reason why you should not pass. Proctored Midterm and Final, which was basically unit tests. For a Human Anatomy class I would recommend Brillinger.
Extremely challenging course!! You will get an A if you record every class. Transcribe right away. Study to memorize notes prior to class. Weekly quizzes. Tests are straightforward. Don't refer to the book unless you have to. His outline notes are all that's needed for his lecture class. This is bootcamp for 16 weeks, but very worth it!
I took Professor Brillinger online in the summer and still managed an A. It was a very fast paced, however if you study and do the work, you'll do well. Responds to emails promptly-will be taking him for A&P2 in the fall!
Mr. B is a good teacher. You will work hard for a good grade, but you will come out of the class knowing so much more than when you started. I worked really hard to pass his class. I am taking him again for next semester. Record all of his classes, almost everything comes from the notes.
Let me first begin by stating that I am a Phi Theta Kappa honor student, and take my education extremely seriously. In the 3 years at SPC never have I met a more disrespectful instructor! If your cellular device makes a sound during his lecture you must stand before your peers and sing Mary had a Little Lamb until he feels satisfied or a pop quiz!!
On top of being a harsh grader, this course consist of 4 exams. Professor B gave exam 3 and 4 in the last two weeks of the semester. It was the most unpleasent experience. Wish that I went with my gut n dropped the course
Beware! You couldn't pay me to take another course with this instructor!
I am not sure as to why Professor Brillinger has received such bad ratings. He is an awesome professor!! He is not an easy Professor but the subject isn't easy.. If you apply yourself and study you will pass this course with ease. This is college not high school so turn your cell phone off!! He has a very dry sense of humor which is great.
Take professor B, I highly recommend him because he is single handedly eliminating all my competition!! Your GPA will drop, your life will be hell, and you can forget about applying into a medical program. He takes great pride in mimicking his exams to the same level of a state board exam, so that he can prepare you years in advance.
Yes his classes are a lot of work. Yes there are quizzes every week. Yes you will be prepared for what is to come. I took him for all 4 classes. I got A's in every one of them. I am graduating from nursing school soon and I am really glad to have a great foundation thanks to Mr B. Slackers beware, you will be like the people crying here.
If you are looking for an easy A, you will not get one here. Mr. Brillinger is an awesome teacher, he tells you exactly what is going to be on his tests. If you record his class and take notes you are sure to get an A in his class, but it takes alot of work!!!!!!! STUDY HARD
Quizes were not to bad, as long as you can memorize the material quickly. Exams are ridiculously difficult. The first exam with Mr. B, I so confused because he changes and presents the questions in a completely different manner than what his lectures present. Also digs deep into the chapters for minute details for exam questions.
He is super nice and helpful! However his quizzes are fairly easy, but the exams are another story. They are ridiculously difficult. You better get ready to study. He gives you exam reviews at beginning of class, if you want to pass them you better start on them early!
Mr B rocks! Always replys to emails right away. He must live on the computer.
Very good teacher! Lectures are great! Gives a 10 question quiz usually every class on lecture from the class before, the points will help your grade! Record lectures and transcribe right away! You will do good on exams! Tells you roughly what will be on the exam a few days before the exam. You put in the work you'll get a good grade! No homework!
Human anatomy is a really difficult subject but he is the best professor to teach it. You will need to study a lot, but you will remember what you learned for your profession . He is really funny and shows videos, drawings, and diagrams to help you understand better. He encourages questions and gives you a list to narrow down for the exams!
Mr. B is a great teacher but doesn't really care about his students. His tests are extremely hard and all over the place. He says his quizzes are easy and mostly on the last class but they are not at all. He is confusing and hard to reach out to for help. Wouldn't recommend him if you wanna pass and learn from A&P1.
Please be advised I wrote a review last semester stating that he was the worst teacher I ever had the review was removed! Do not trust this web site!
I have Prof B for A&P II lab and lecture; wonderful professor. Expect a cake walk- you're in the wrong class. If you study daily, you can get As. He is very clear & always willing to respond to email questions. He reviews the basics before exams, if you study what he tells you, tests are easy. Anyone who says differently is probably lazy.
The class is under his name, but the person who actually teaches me is an indian woman with an extremely annoying accent. Whoever writes the lecture notes has no clue how to write. I don't know about you, but reading lecture notes by a college professor who doesn't even know the difference between "it's" and "its" is absurd. Wouldn't take again.
You must be self motivated and interested in the subject. I am no good with microbiology but I love anatomy and the human body. He made me have an exaggerated fear of germs but I learned a lot. The textbook is very interesting. Study study study for mid-term and final! Easy A if you read the materials he assigns.
On the first night of class Mr. B really laid down the law. Lost like three classmates after his into speech. He doesn't take kindly to any student's who are late, leaving early, or cell phone ringing. Told the class at SPC the A&P course costs less than USF, so he will not make it easy for students to pass since the credits transfer over.
I didn't like that all of his quizzes were short. So if you missed two questions (which were sometimes confusing) you would get a low grade on the quiz. The midterm wasn't that bad, even though it was proctored. NOW THE FINAL. There is SO much material to study. Seems like he crammed everything into the final with no review sheet to help you out.
Be prepared to work! This class is challenging. It requires a lot of time, work and an enormous amount of dedication. If you put in the right amount of time, you can certainly get an A. You get what you put in (as with any class). Gives pop quizzes and his tests are definitely thought provoking. Overall GREAT professor. Signed up for A&P 2.
Brillinger is the a great teacher who genuinely cares about the success of his students & has a passion for the subject. The course is challenging but possible with a good mind set & adequate study time. Go to every class, record and type the lectures, expect quizzes, make study guides with material he says will be on the test and you will excel.
Mr. B is an awesome, funny, helpful professor. He knows the material and is willing to help any way he can. His tests are directly based off of his lectures. He is easy to talk to and makes you feel comfortable asking questions in class. I am recommending him to any of my friends that are taking A&P1 and 2!!!
He's not the best at telling you when homework is due and he doesn't always grade it ... He gives a lot of pop quizzes and says anything in this class can be used on a test or quiz...
All of the online lectures are narrated by a woman with a very thick accent and she often pronounces words very strangely. Tests are multiple choice but very tough! Not easy to eliminate answers. No "extra credit" given but I did post in all of the ungraded discussion forums and Mr. Brillinger bumped my 89% up to a 90% because of my participation!
Mr. B is awesome. People complaining about him clearly didn't do good in the class. You get what you put in! He is VERY clear on what he wants and tells you what will be on the lecture tests. I took him for A&P 1 and A&P 2 lecture and lab. I recommend him to anyone who needs to take these classes. You rock Mr. B!
This guy is not the teacher to take. teaches the material like you are already a pro. too lazy to make better power points. if you like the challenge good luck because is not he best for A and p
Mr. B is an amazing A&P professor! The subject is hard and has a lot of info but he made it fun and easier to learn. He tells you a head of time what to expect on the tests/quizzes and if you study and do your homework you will do just fine! He has videos on YouTube for each chapter which helps A TON.. I would highly recommend!!!!!!
I absolutely loved his class! I took him both for A and P 1/2 lab/lec and I'm glad I did. He really prepares you for the future, especially if you are going into the medical field. It's for sure not an easy class to pass with an A, he will make you work for it. But trust me you will come out stronger because of it! Dedicate yourself & you'll be ok.
It seems that he is liked as an online teacher but my in-class experience was awful. He came across as depressed and burnt out. We did homework that he never graded so we didn't know if it was right. It was not a positive or productive learning experience. I personally hated his lazy teaching methods. I came to learn.
I had to put in a lot of work in the learning lab to learn the material for the tests, but I felt that he told us the majority of what to focus on for the practical exams. His youtube channel was also very helpful as he pointed to what we needed to know on all of the models. If you're willing to put in the work you can get an A in this class.
Professor Brillinger is the best! I took him for A&P1 as well. His lectures move fast so I suggest recording them. His class supplement is basically your study guide for all the tests and final. He does offer extra credit which is a huge help. Plus he's just a super nice guy who genuinely cares about how you do in his class. 10/10 would recommend.
Took Mr. B for anatomy 1 Lect. This guy is solid. He has a sarcastic personality with good intentions. I feel as tho this prof. prepares you for your medical career. Bet on a quiz once a week, and to study outside the class any concept you were not able to grasp in class. Tricky tests, but study AS YOU GO ALONG and you'll be sure to tackle them!
TAKE HIS CLASS!!! The best A and P teacher I had at SPC. He will make you work for the A, but as long as you study and put in the time you will do well in his class. He is funny and really cares about his students. Always willing to help you outside of class and answers emails very fast. Learned a lot in this class, prepares you well for test.
Prof. B was awesome! Took him for lab only. Would really recommended to have his for lecture as well... other teachers aren't that great. I wish I had him for both. Tell you exactly what you need to know for his test. He really knows his stuff too! You have to study though because it's a lot of material but he has great tips and guides!
Its plain and simple, he is an awesome instructor!!! With that being said, come ready to work hard and learn. It is in no way an easy A, but if you are prepared and study you can do it. Quizzes and practicals are very important, be sure to study. You will get every bit out of it that you put into it, so it really depends on you.
The hardest A I've ever had to work for in both A & P I and II. The quizzes each week are torture but keep you on your toes for the practicals and final. He respects students who put in the work and takes classroom time very seriously which means no playing around on your cell phone or other disrespectful garbage, which I appreciated !
Great teacher. You will work for your grade, but great lecture. (keep in mind you will work in any anatomy class). Quizzes every week. 4 exams. easy IF you know your material.
TAKE HIS CLASS. It's not an easy A and I'll be the first to tell you because I barely passed with a C. If I had failed, I would have taken it again with him if that says anything about how good he is. 3 tests, 1 final, quizzes every week. He tells you what to expect on quizzes and test. Show up for class and study nightly...
Took profB for both A&P 1 and 2. this class will be your canker sore. U have 2 dedicate HOURS to study 2 ensure an A in this class. His tests are tricky & he gives a weekly quiz(hell tell u what 2 focus on)bc he expects students 2 study as they go. This class isn't for the weak-if you doing healthcare take him! You'll KNOW your anatomy stuff!!
This class is one of the hardest classes I've ever taken. This man does not care about your grade or your future. All his tests and quizzes are hard and timed. There is a lab quiz before an actual quiz for every chapter. He gives you only 30 minutes to answer 25 questions. The mid-term and final are proctored and not multiple choice. Good Luck!
If you are looking for an easy grade, or perhaps you are a whiny snowflake, you probably should find another class. However, if you enjoy a challenge, and want to actually learn this subject, Professor Brillinger is the man. You will work for your grade, and be well prepared for further studies in the health sciences.
Great instructor, would take again without reservation. If you are looking for an easy grade, look elsewhere. This course is intense and skimping on the study time will definitely reflect on your grade. Quizzes are weekly and account for 2 grade points. I wouldn't slack if I were you!
Here is what you want to pass this class with an A . You need to have a voice recorder because everything he says is important . 3 exams and a cumulative final which sounds terrible but you only need to study the chapters that you haven't been tested on and only review the things that he says that will be in the final from the previous chapters.
I would retake him in a heartbeat. This is anatomy so there is a normal level of expectation to meet. Don't show up, don't study, you wont pass no matter who the teacher. He is funny, fair, and available. Show up and do your part and you will be fine. you MUST study for this class (or any anatomy) Great teacher!!
Very straightforward class. (I took this online) As long as you read the entire chapters and follow exam study guide you should be able to get an A. He offered plenty of extra credit and dropped lowest quiz grade and homework grade.
DO NOT TAKE HIS ANATOMY & PHYSIOLOGY LAB 1 CLASS. Brillinger does not teach in this class! You will teach yourself and he asks you to memorize A LOT of material for each test. It is NOT easy. Everyone is failing! Test are 50 questions with no word bank, multiple choice, and/or matching. He isn't forgiving with grades. TAKE HIM FOR LECTURE, NOT LAB.
He's the best prof I've ever taken. As long as you record every lecture, print out his objective sheets and study those weekly you'll pass with an A. As for lab, easiest class ever. All you have to do is go to the science room, memorize, and learn functions. If you're going into the medical field, you will appreciate everything he did for you.
I want to first be up front and honest, this class is already a hard class as one would expect it to be. My only real issue with this professor is that the test didn't match the quizes and homework seemed to be on something other than as well. I really wish he would have put more structure into a lecture, but overall it is on you to study.
Professor Brillinger was by far the best professor I have ever had! I took him three times and each time I have loved the class. he is an amazing teacher. To pass you have to pay attention in class and there are quizzes once a week so you have to study. the quizzes are only like two question and they are super easy! To fail you have to not show up
Personally I think this class is tough no matter who teaches. This professor has a very well organized course and is set up to help you succeed online. This class requires a lot of studying and you must do the work to pass. There is 4 tests, two at home and the midterm and final are proctored.
Attendance isn't really mandatory but when you skip one class, you skip a lot. Why skip anyway? You're paying for this class. I feel like I invested a lot of time in the class but I got an A in both lecture and lab. Would definitely take him again - in fact, I am. He gives a lot of quizzes but I was grateful because it keeps you studying.
I took him for anatomy 2 for lecture and lab. He is a nice and funny teacher. The class itself is hard. He talks kind of fast so its hard to take notes a little but if you record his lectures you'll be fine. He also gives extra credit in the lecture class that can raise up a letter grade. He also will say what will be on the tests.
BEST professor I have taken yet, test every week which makes you learn good study habits as well as learn the material. there is no slacking off in this class, I took him for lab and he was THE BEST. I am looking forward to taking him for A&P2. buy the book, study around 16 hours a week, go to the science room and you will have an A
Let's face it, this is Anatomy and Physiology Lab. DO NOT TAKE DURING THE SUMMER!!! Unit tests are the worst. You have to fill in the blank with no word bank. You are expected to memorize A LOT. During the summer you can count on having assignments due every 3 or 4 days. IT'S A LOT. The online lab work is good.
He was the laziest teacher I think I have ever experienced. I don't know if he has a very full class schedule but our class was taught by powerpoints and 6 bullet point exam reviews. There is so much information to learn for 42 question finals, and he's vague, so cram every single detail you possibly can into your brain.
This is for the lecture class since it did not give me the option. He has a quiz just about every week unless its a practical day. These quizzes are very hard however if you study the weekly chapter and review his YouTube videos, and diagrams you should be okay. The tests are the kicker withlots of slides, functions instead of labeling. Super Hard.
I LOVED MR B! i took him for lecture and Lab. He is incredibly smart and knows how to teach the course. He does do quizzes every week in lecture and lab; he does this to keep you studying so you dont slack off. He has videos on his YouTube channel that will help you. HE TELLS YOU WHAT IS GOING TO BE ON THE TESTS, apply yourself and youll get an A.
Professor Brillinger is the best professor you could take for anatomy! He is smart and cares about his students. Quizzes are every week but if you study weekly they are super easy and he tells you exactly what you need to know for tests. I took him for lab and lecture for both A&P 1 and 2. 10/10 recommend to anyone thinking about taking his class.
Best professor ever!! Had him for lab, will take his A&P2 lecture + lab courses. Definitely listen and do everything he says, stdy outside of class everyday, has extra credit. Weekly quiz on what you learned the previous week, about 10 questions. 3-4 practicals. If you study and put time in, you WILL pass with an A or B. He genuinely cares.
He was an amazing teacher. Lab is once a week, so we have a quiz every class. He tells you what to study so youre always prepared. Homework is a little much, but it isnt hard to do. I think hes a fair grader. He explains things clearly too. Not a hard class, just a lot of work. You work for your grades and study hard. Taking A&P2 with him next
I loved taking brillinger for anatomy ! It definitely was not an easy class but he truly makes you learn and helps you understand the content. It sucks that everything is online now because taking him in class was great. he was very entertaining and really cares about the students understanding the material.
This class is taught as though it should be 6 credits. It's very difficult as a student to learn simply from power-points (that have very little to do with quizzes), google-searches, and take exams that are based upon a 20-page "objective list" he has provided. However, you are stuck because he is the only one to teach this class. Cram all you can.
I had prof Brillinger for A&P 2 lecture and lab around 5 yrs ago. I am now only 14 weeks away from graduating from a top University with a masters in health science. Today I was reflecting back on the hardest class I ever took that mentally exhausted me and this was it. I spent around 15 hrs/wk just studying and never got a perfect score. Good luck
2-cr class reads like an 8-cr class. Slight use of text, BIG use of PowerPts & Internet. Sweeping concepts assigned "Test on immune system. Look it up on the web." Too much web info! What's on test?! Learn everything U can cram in yo brain. P. Pt info outdated at times. Some study guide ?s are wrong. Responds to emails. Reviews here R accurate.
If your looking for a teacher to help you and be there to guide and offer help when needed? Dont look here!!!! This man gives you work and whatever you make? You get. If you struggle or need help he dont offer it instead? He tells you go out an get help yourself! ( help yourself ) dont offer to retake anything, dont give extra credit ( limited).
Mr. B is known for being one of the best A&P professors @ Tarpon Campus. He knows his stuff and I'm glad I took him. You will use Pearson to complete DSM's, homework, and quizzes. They're lengthy but helpful for learning the material. Then there are six 280-point exams which you can use a 3x5 notecard with. Write tiny and study hard! You got this!
I didn't have the lab manual the entire semester and finished the class with 100%, so it's possible if you study the lecture text meticulously, but this is not an easy course. His labs and study guides are very helpful and contain tons of info as well. He is responsive, sets clear expectations, and cares for his students.
I am currently in his lecture and lab for A&P1. It is a difficult course but he is a great professor. He explains things well and will not move on if there is any confusion. My best advice is to speak up if you don't understand. He'll explain again and help. Post pandemic, he puts his lectures online if you miss class. It's still better to go.
I am in his lecture and lab. In both, there are no power points. He has you bring in a copy (or on laptop/ipad) and go through the notes. He repeats anything you need and lets you record lectures as well. If you don't understand something, tell him and he will go over it again. If you dont speak up he assumes you understands and moves on
Great person and wants to see his students do well in his class. You don't need to buy the textbook if you don't want to for lab but for lecture I used it every unit. LOTS OF EXTRA CREDIT!! Four exams (all proctored) but professor asks simple questions on the exams so if you studied enough, you should be good to go!
Spring 2022 Much material, ripoff that it's 1cred. Must print off notes & rewatch lecture vids, he narrows them down a bit. Much Textbook HW, but it's due every few weeks. Do EC Flashcards when offered. Hard quiz every week, exempts 3 Quiz grades. 50Q Tests, 2 freebee Q's. 2 Tests + Cumulative Final, if you miss a test day it's a 0. Nice Guy tho :)
Spring 2022 About 1 Quiz a week, unspecified day. Exempts 3 Quiz Grades. 3 Tests + Cumulative Final. Memorize Lecture vids/notes not Textbook (only use Tb for clarity). All Tests 50 Q's. Grades Test out of a few less questions than asked (ex. 50/47 Q's so 40 right = 40/47). 1 huge end of course EC Project. No HW but continuous studying. Good guy :)
Too much input, not enough output. Not many ways to practice your knowledge. Independently driven. Memorization and deep understanding of how things connect. Lots of vocabulary. A lot of personal research. Summer term is intense. Grades main test on a curve. Would not recommend it, but it's the only choice. Take in spring or fall.
