very great professor!!!
Very great professor
He is an incredible teacher! He is super funny, which keeps the class interesting. He gives you a study guide that is just like his tests. Also he gives you 20% of the test weeks in advance. If you go to class, do the homework and the study guides. Its impossible not to make an A. Also if you go to his office he helps!
Good professor that makes math easy to understand. He is funny and is really helpful during his office hours.
Prof. Brodsky is very helpful and a wonderful teacher he makes math kinda fun (I hate math the quizes are just like the study guides he gives and he answers ANY questions (even bonus problems) and allows corrections on homework. As lobg as you show up and pay attention you'll be fine :) Hes wonderful
He's a great professor. his class is really easy. And he really makes it easy to learn the material.
Good teacher, pretty helpful. I would take him again
Dislike math but love this professor. Very helpful. Had him for precalculus and purposely took his calculus 1 class because he was so helpful. Always willing to help, very flexible. Gives lots of opportunities to succeed.
Often talks to students like they are stupid. Knows his material very well but sometimes has a hard time relaying the information to his students. Lets you use notecards on tests. Quizzes frequently and if missed are allowed to make up additional homework problems. One of the better Calc professors at UWG. Lots of partial credit.
Prof. Brodsky is the best professor ever. He makes Calculus fun and easy to understand. I really wish he was teaching Calculus 2 since I have to take it. Absolutely greatest professor ever. I recommend you take him no matter what level math you're taking. You will absolutely LOVE him!!!
Excellent professor. Best I've had at UWG. He really wants his students to succeed and loves his job. Calculus is a hard subject but he somehow makes it easier without just giving you a good grade. Very funny in class, too.
Brian Brodsky is an excellent professor, who is has a great sense of humor. But what I really like about him is that he has a passion for teaching mathematics that allows even the most resistant math student the ability to understand the complex concepts covered in calculus.
Fantastic professor, one of the best in the department. He is always willing to help students understand the material. Has a great sense of humor that is sometimes misinterpreted. He never treats students like they’re dumb but does expect students to really think about what they’re doing. Always willing to go the extra mile to help.
Brodsky is the BEST! If you have a chance take his class. He is always willing to help. And he is very funny :D
He is a funny guy! He teaches very thoroughly and always gives real-world examples. He is always willing to help and the best math teach I've had so far.
Best math professor at the school. Funny guy. Always willing to help. Took two classes with him as the professor and would take another of his classes in a heartbeat.
HILARIOUS! Makes the atmosphere comfortable. Best Math professor on campus. He's very helpful! GO to his FRIDAY classes!!!
Awesome teacher !
Professor Brodsky is a plain out amazing professor and person. He loves what he does and makes math interesting. He's so caring and so genuine. I would definitely recommend him to any and everyone. Truly is an amazing professor.
Amazing Professor! I'm awful in math and pulled out with an 86... And scored a 95 on finals! Portfolio is easy to do and allows you to replace an exam grade with a research paper... Def comes in handy! I would take his class over again if I have to. This is coming from a student who has always been awful in math. Oh yeah click the chili proper lol
Really cool professor. Probably one of the better professors for math on the whole campus. I would recommend taking his class.
Great guy who really loves his students. My favorite professor by far.
He is really weird... He doesn't really clarify what he means in a good way. And he is always preaching(if you get in his class, you'll know what i mean). The work isn't that hard. Very specific on turn in time online. Attendance not mandatory BUT he does give ALOT of pop quizzes
Great instructor. Will spend extra time to help you.
Good Teacher but you have to know alot from precalculus because he will not go over those things per say. The tests also are much harder than the examples in class or the homework
Brodsky is a very easy Algebra teacher and very helpful! He really wants all of his students to do well in the class and will do anything to help you make that happen.
Brodsky actually teaches you how to do math. He is funny but class can be boring sometimes. There are pop quizess, group or take home tests. We have homework but its for extra credit. There are study guides that are very similar to the test, he devotes a whole class day to going over it. He an awesome professor. I RECOMMEND!
Brodsky is an awesome professor and i would definitely recommend taking him for any math class. He is very practical and funny. He gives quite a few pop quizzes so missing class is not recommended. He will help you with anything you don't understand (even if he have to draw stick people).
Cool & laid back while still getting the message and information across.
Easy class. He even let us work in groups on one of the tests and always lets you bring in a note card to use on the tests. Then he made the homework optional! Amazing teacher and very funny. Sometimes instead of quizzes he just passed around the roister so i would go to class.
I enjoyed the brodwiser. He gets to the point and its fun to distract him. Just ask him how he neighboor is doing.
Great teacher, really helpful makes you interested in math but in a unique way
As long as you show up, pay attention, and do the homework this class is an easy A. He is a very engaging professor and I highly recommend him.
Easy A, just show up and listen to him.
Professor Brodsky is a great professor! He gives challenging, lengthy tests, but as long as you take great notes, study and go to class everyday, you should get an A. He is a very inspiring teacher, and he cares about his student's confidence and learning. Take him for College Algebra!!!
This class is very easy, and the professor is great! He likes to stop lecturing sometimes and start speaking philosophy, which is entertaining. He is very helpful, and knows what he is talking about. I highly recommend this class!
He is a great professor and I would take him agree if the opportunity arises.
Brodsky was funny and philosophical. He made math easy! If you ask questions and do the homework in the book, tests shouldn't be a problem!
I looked on here and saw he was a decent professor so I enrolled, and now I am regretting it. He doesn't believe in giving examples. His words "Math is not about giving examples" So he teaches us something, gives one example and how to use it and then moves on. Then you get to the tests and you're screwed. The only way to pass, is to teach yourself
Tests are nothing like what is done in class or on homework. He does give extra credit though.
One of the better math professors at UWG. Tests are difficult, but he does give study guides and extra credit. Be ready for some pop-quizzes. If you do well teaching yourself, this is a great class. If you're not good at math already, I would suggest some tutoring.
He would be an awesome philosophy teacher but not so for math. His tests, compared to what we learn and go over in class, are completely foreign. I took him for Cal I, studied my ass off went to every resource for clarification, and still ended up with a B. He's not worth the money you pay for the class.
terrible! dont take him. good luck if you do take him
Tests are hard!! I wouldn't advise this class unless you're good at teaching yourself. You'll learn so much in one class and next thing you know it's a test. If you take this class please pray(hopefully you already do that)
His test are hard but if you know your stuff on the study guide you should be fine. He gives a brief overview of the topics in class but doesn't go in detail too much, so you have to spend a lot of time studying on your own. He gives ALOT of extra credit though and opportunities to get your test grades up.
He's eccentric, but amazing teacher. I used to hate math before I took him. Breaks down math to wear it's easy to understand. Lets you take a notecard of formulas for each test. Occasionally does group tests, but they're much harder.
Brodsky is one of the smartest and most inspirational people I have ever met. His teaching style is not for everyone, but he turned me from a math hater into a math major. He explains things very well, makes you see math in a completely new way, and has a sarcastic and condescending personality that offends some, but I personally found hilarious.
Professor Brodsky is a unique individual, in a good way. He teaches math using a different approach than other math teachers. It was definitely helpful to have a professor explain math in a new way. Occasionally, he will go on "tangents" which will sometimes not seem relatable, but often turn into an interesting thought.
Prof. Brodsky is a rather hard professor, expect to fail your first test. However, he is very good at explaining the math concepts and you will learn a lot from him even as he kills your GPA. I will take him again if I can.
Don't do it. I'm warning you don't do it. He is a good professor but he will kill your GPA.
Great math professor! Wants you to do well in the class and really cares. Take him if you can!
Very intelligent professor, he knows what he's talking about. Listen to his tangents they help you in life!!
You'll probably have him for a 4-credit hour class and on top of that, you have to do tons of practice and tutoring just to survive. Even if you're great at math, he expects you to have these concepts down-pat and formulas memorized very quickly. He prepares you though. DO NOT REGISTER FOR THIS CLASS IF YOU COULD TAKE AN EASIER MATH
You're not required to show up but if you don't your likely to get behind because he doesn't give homework. He comes off very judgemental to the point that I did not want to ask him for help. Not a good experience.
I took pre-calc and I believe he is a good Professor overall. He is very intelligent and is very blunt. Attendance wasn't mandatory and he doesn't give homework, you just have to study on your own. He gave us extra credit opportunities and offers a study guide for every exam and the exams are very similar to the study guide.
He is eccentric. He does challenge you to view the world and mathematics in a different way, but he spends a good chunk of class time pontificating on this, and it shows. His quizzes were easy, and the exams aren't too difficult, but his philosophical tangents limit instructional time. You must be self-disciplined to succeed in his classes.
I really loved Brodsky. He helps you as much as he can, great teacher, great personality, helps you a lot.
Do not take him. He is very rude.
Brodsky isn't a terrible teacher, but I did not have the greatest experience in his class. I would definitely say that it is a necessity to get some kind of outside help, whether it's during his office hours or by someone who understands. He admitted to me that he would find it very hard for students to pass without coming to office hours.
I took online STATS with Professor Brodsky. He was extremely understanding and very helpful. He always responded quickly and tried to make you feel better if you didn't do as well as you'd hope. He gives a lot of extra credit and I cannot stress enough how much that helped me.
very helpfull during office hours and barely gives out graded homeowrk assignments.
Not the best, he doesnt explain math well and doesnt seem like hes trying to make you understand it. Its seems like if he tells you something philosophical, he thinks youll understand the math in the future. I went to tutoring twice weekly, was in his extra help class, and had my friend teaching me as well. I still dont understand algebra
Although he knows the matterial very well, he has trouble teaching it to people who do not know the material. Tests are divided into a free response group portion and an individual multiple choice portion. There are quizzes most classes that are a few questions and graded heavily. A set of around 20 question problem sets are due before each test.
Brodsky is a great teacher if youre already good at math, the only bad quality is he makes students feel dumb and questions them when they dont understand.
Professor Brodsky is a good professor who cares about his profession. He is very knowledgeable, and as long as youre respectful to him youll have no issues. He made math bearable for me, and math is definitely not my strong suit. I didnt dread going to his class like other math classes. Overall, good professor and gives extra credit
Brodsky is a very interesting man and sometimes strange but he is really funny when he wants to be. He gives a ton of extra credit for test which really helped my grade. Overall, he really knows what he is talking about and works hard to help his students.
Great prof. in terms of teaching statistics. The exams are half individual and half group portion, he lets you use index cards during them both. He gives extra credit opportunities and encourages you to use his office hours. There are a few class check-ups that you have to be in attendance to do (no making them up). Show up, do the work, get an A!
Brodsky is a really great prof. He does give you a good amount of homework but he gives you plenty of helpful videos explaining all of it and gives you a month to finish it. He is a super easy going guy in class and answers any questions you have. I would definitely suggest taking his class.
His class was easy. When I would email, he was responsive, however, his responses were miserable. He never actually helped me and made me feel like an idiot. He said, "It's in the content directly, you were just unable to perceive it," in response to a question I had. (FYI, not once was it in the content, I still haven't found it.) UNHELPFUL :)
Would not recommend AT ALL. Does not care about students if they do not understand the lectures. You basically teach yourself. If you dont understand he does not care about he encourages you to watch lecture online which is a totally different person teaching and that person teaches way different and he expects you to learn his way comes test time
He let's you work on unit test together
the Professor does let you work together on the first units but is a tough grader. he makes you feel dumb so don’t even try asking questions cause if you don’t understand he makes you feel stupid. he thinks his teaching is good but isn’t good at explaining at all. also goes on about pointless rants that arnt related to math. do not take.
Professor Brodsky is awesome! He is very clear on the subject matter and is very approachable. He truly cares about students being successful. He goes out of his way to be available for questions/help. I loved this class!
Good when comes to explaining the math. He is kinda awkward and over-explains its never yes or no. The class is easy and gives good feedback. Overall he is a good teacher and would recommend him.
Overall a good and fair Professor. For a summer class it was pretty easy in terms of a Calculus class. I'm bad at math but the professor was accessible for tutoring and responded quickly to emails and questions. 3 exams but if you complete 85% of the HW he drops the lowest exam and replaces with a 100. Lowest grade was a 85. No lockdown browser.
He is very mono-toned, I had him for an 8am which I absolutely do not recommend him for an 8am. His class is very boring and its overly hard to stay focused. Thankfully attendance was not mandatory unless there was an exam(3), his own words. He assigns so much homework that is pretty tiring and confusing. Overall I do not recommend his class.
Idk why there's bad reviews about him cause he's my favorite professor. He truly cares for his students and their success. I'm terrible at math and he explains it in a way I can understand. He provides extra credit that he will replace your lowest test grade with, which helps a lot. Lectures are chill and we leave early sometimes. Very nice guy!
impossible to fail. so many grades get dropped and attendance is optional unless there's an exam. he's very monotone and will unapologetically go on rants where he says a lot with no point. do all the homework and you'll pass. incredibly boring lectures but he is available for extra help and only occasionally rude.
Professor Brodsky is very knowledgeable and is always willing to help as long as you pay attention in class and put forth some effort. He does give random quizzes so attendance is a must. Unfortunately, he is not teaching Calculus I or else I would 100% take again.
Does not give thorough feedback when grading, especially if something is incorrect. Be expected to know Excel, as he does not provide lessons on it and the course uses it heavily.
This Professor was terrific. He believes a letter grade should not define students and wants to see his students grow and develop. He gives several opportunities for grade recovery, and he has really easy assignments. This professor truly wants to see his students learn and teach them life skills. He's easy and laidback! Take him!
Personally I was not a fan of his teaching techniques, he goes off on tangents frequently! There is enough homework given. He's pretty laidback when it comes to midterms and final exams, the guidelines for those aren't strict.
He's over all a good professor. He's very test heavy and grades then thoroughly but he give out a lot of extra credit opportunities. He sometimes goes on long rants during lectures but I would recommend him if you plan on taking college algebra.
Professor Brodsky is an amazing math teacher. He's incredibly easy to work with and will extend due dates when necessary. His lessons are on a separate platform, but it is free. It is easy to understand the material he gives. It doesn't take long to do his homework, so it's a great class for busy people.
Just likes to talk for no reason sometimes
He was okay, made us do so much homework for a optional project cared more about that project than actually teaching. Tests are weird
