He gives a lot of notes but the tests reflect directly what is in the notes. Pay attention to lecture and pass! review sheets/copies of his notes were given before all tests as well

Class was on the Constitution. A TON of reading of supreme court cases. He also demands participation, if you don't want to read 50 pages of court cases a week, it really is't the course for you. Only 2 takehome papers. Not the best elective for your GPA.

Great professor, pay attention in class, its an easy A. Hes wonderful!

Very nice, monotone but extremely smart. Definitely knows his stuff. Puts his notes on reserve so you just have to listen in class. Worth it but have to study somewhat.

Great professor. Obviously really smart, Im surprised hes teaching at Iona. Just make sure to take notes that what the tests are based on. He tells you what is going to be on the test.

Dr. Brown demands precision and active participation from his students. A genius when it comes to the constitution and religion. One of the most gentle and sincere teachers at Iona. Can be a bit boring at times, however.

Nice guy. Very Bright and enthusiastic. Not a terribly interesting class, but not hard if you just read. He's got fashion addiction. This guy dresses as if he's GORDON GEKKO.

Dr. Brown is cursed with an extremely monotoned voice. He's a realllyy nice guy though! His lectures aren't the most exciting (boring actually), but he gives review sheets basically telling you what's on the exam. Not a hard class to pass if you put in minimal effort.

Soo boring b/c all he does is give notes from the overhead. YOU WANT TO FALL ASLEEP. But he can be very nice. He's strict about attendance has 3 tests which count for 1/3 of grade each but if you're doing bad hes there to help you. I learned a lot from his class even though I haduch a hard time

One of the smartest, fairest and nicest professors I've ever had. Go to class and you can get extra credit if you need it. Interesting and open-minded. Does not force his opinion on you.

I love Dr. Brown, he is one of my all time favorites. His approach might be a little boring, but he's a great man and super smart. He grades very fairly and goes out of his way to help students.

Hes not the most interesting, but his notes are all on blackboard now. Hes very clear and if you cannot unferstand his notes he will make sure you do. He likes big words and thinks he's great, but this is my second time taking him bc his tests are right from his notes. No papers and only 3 tests. The final is the third test, too so it isnt cummulative. I'd take him before any other rst prof.

If you're looking to go to law school, take this class. This was the only class I took in undergrad that came close to what law school was. Case after case teaching the development and evolution of the law in a particular field. Incredibly intelligent and knowledgeable in his field, easy to talk to after class if you need help and a nice guy to talk to in any case.

i luv this class but ud think i was the only student in the room--it really gets me pissed that no one seems to care or talk--its like he has to be there, so do we, so everyone might as well make the most of it--really into the topic, and enthusiasm is what sells a subject

Amazing teacher, my favorite yet!!

Nice enough guy who's willing to help and wears funny suits, but his lectures are massively boring, and he doesn't seem willing to change his approach, only take him if you're very interested in the subject

dr. brown is a great teacher, VERY passionate about the subject, but, if you miss a class and go next time its like a soap opera, you get re-capped the next class on what happened b4. He is very detailed, and if he's talking about something for a long time, it means that subject is on a test.i strongly recommend this teacher!!

very organized. All of the notes you take, he puts them on blackboard. Great teacher. Gives a study guide b4 every test. No himework. Just 3 tests and a final exam.

I took him for the intro class, he put a lot of ppl to sleep, his notes were very clear and he knew alot about the subjects. As long as u pay attention in class, ull do just fine, but he can be monotone, so if ur easily distracted or fall asleep in class easily, u might not want to take him

Study the notes he puts online+going over the review questions+read and analyze the text= A. He's a decent teacher teaching a terrible, boring subject. Study for the tests and you will get an A.

This professor is very passionate about his subject matter. All notes are on Blckboard, but take lecture notes as well! Class can be boring, however if you bring your laptop to pass by time you will be fine. Only three tests all semester. One on catholicism, one on islam, and one on the lakota indian tribe. Thats it.

Easy teacher. Paying attention in class isn't really that important but be careful because he might call your name and ask you to answer something. All notes that he shows in class are on blackboard and you can start studying the night before and do just fine. You don't lose points if you miss class but miss to many and he locks you from blackboard

I have him for my Buddhism class and he's amazing! He loves teaching this class and you can tell by the way he speaks. He lets you know what's on the tests and provides a review sheet. Most of the class participates and they listen really well. I'm so glad I'm taking this class and you should definitely try it!!

average quality teacher. this class is so incredibly boring. Posts all notes on blackboard but if your absent 3 times he kicks you off, 3 tests and gives review sheet, STUDY THOSE! no hw. my laptop was my best friend. just study the review sheets before tests and your golden!!

such a nice man, im not very religious so the class was hard for me to understand but thats not the teachers fault. i love this teacher, i took him again second semester because i liked him so much. he is very helpful, if you need help he'll try his best to help you. such a sweetheart. tests are kind of hard though.

Prof. Brown is a really nice guy but veryy boring. It's hard to pay attention in class but his notes are online anyways. Tests are easy; only 3, no midterm, no final. Can't miss more than 3 classes or he'll kick you off blackboard.

I took him for Buddhism, he's a nice man and really passionate about the subject. Definitely recommend it. He's kind of boring but he gives out review sheets before each test and as long as you study those you should do well.

BORING. God, he's such a nice man, but I'd rather stick needles in my eyes than sit in his class. The material is not bad, and he gives review sheets. Just read and you'll pass.

Professor Brown is one of the sweetest professors I've had at Iona, but he is EXTREMELY BORING. His lectures are long and he often spends too much time explaining simple things. I took him for Buddhism and there's only 2 exams plus a final (No papers!). His class is pretty easy, but I would not put myself through it again.

You can tell he's passionate what he's teaching but the content isn't as interesting as one would assume. The tests were kinda hard but studying from the review sheet was helpful. He's not the worst option out there because he actually cares about students if you come to him with questions
