this guy knows his stuff, and holds very interesting classes. recommended. course load is light, and interesting.
Positively influenced my life. Brilliant.
Difficult for an introductory class. Does not want to fail anyone - a plus. A midterm and a take home final. Some pop quizzes, not too bad. Very confusing class, lasts TOO long.
Very difficult teacher for an intro class. knows his stuff but very confusing. midterm pretty hard even if you study a great deal. not a bad guy though and he will make you think. expect getting a B or C
Difficult teacher. Has no office hours and not helpful at all. Very tough for an intro level course.
extremely insightful teacher...very interesting
nice guy - horrible teacher - horrible class.
DO NOT TAKE!! Nice guy but the class is very hard. If you ask questions and know what you are talking about in class it will be a lot easier for everybody in the class.
Do Not Take no matter what you hear. 4.0 students are struggling in this class not to get a C. very hard grader. Impossible to understand for an intro class.
Hardest Class I took all Year. Do not take unless you want a lot of stress in your life.
He is very sarcastic, but doesn't mean offense by it. He is a great teacher and makes class really interesting. The midterm and final are short answer, but he gives you the questions in advance to study. I definitely recommend!
The class was overall hard. However, he is a good teacher and willing to help. he takes attendance randomly. four pop-up quizes, a multipule choice midterm, and a take home final. very strict about grammer & structure in the essays. Recommanded!!
very confusing class-would NOT recommend. Gives impossible all essay/short answer final. Ended up getting an A in the class because he gives 100 extra points if you have perfect attendance...still not worth the stress it caused.
Seriously, dont kill yourself. he gave a multiple choice midterm - none of which he covered in lectures.
Best teacher i've ever had...awesome to listen to
Not only did I feel I learned nothing in his class except that all Republicans are bad, his final and midterm were extemely difficult. I would recommend taking someone else... he totally killed all my intrest in philosophy.
he's a socialist...no kidding. So if you're conservative (like me), don't take his class. If you're on the left, you might really enjoy it.
Very interesting guy. Hard to figure out where he stands. Every class is discussion if people talk. Otherwise, he just lectures. Lectures are complex; you have to ask questions. Four take home tests. Difficult grader. Gives full letter grade bonus for perfect attendance.
****!!! AVOID!!!!

Not really hard. He has his own views, and he's not afraid to express them. If your view doesn't agree with his, you better be prepared to defend yourself. The tests were all take home essays/short answers. Grading is a little rough, but the perfect attendance bonus makes up for it. Recommend.
An exceptionally intelligent professor. He is a marxist, but has a few right wing leanings. You will be defending your beliefs. His tests are VERY tough, BUT are take him and he will review what you have written if you so desire. An excellent man personally, if you try to get to know him.
very intelligent and interesting to listen to. The tests are really hard though, just make sure you get the perfect attendence bonus at the end and you'll be okay.

this class is really interesting....I enjoyed it. He's not afraid to express his opinions. He's down to earth and doesn't **** around which is a nice change. Really not hard if you pay attention and if you're not a complete idiot.
Cameron made ethics interesting. I thought his views were interesting and compelling. His views were differnet then some students but he backed up his arguments with facts and not blind hostility. He didn't discriminate anyone with differnet political or religous views. I highly recommend him.
great at re-explaining things. uses interesting examples and thought experiements. really wants you to understand, but you have to ask questions when u need clarification. open to all sides of an issue. doesnt make you do pointless work. teaches different stuff, more than traditional aristotle.
Everyone else that's rated this guy are all full of crap. He is probably the most informed teacher on his subject out of all the teachers I've had here. As long as you prove to him that you care about the class somewhat you'll get a B. Have perfect attendance, get an A. A good core class.
You could tell that he really loves what he does. He has an awsome attendance policy!
Very smart man. Cool and practical. Tough exams, though both were take home. Expects class participation. Will raise grade if you have perfect attendance.
He is not a very nice man. He is very smart but talks about peronal life too much, like people really want to know about it. Unfair grading. I participated everyday but apparently I wasn't cute enough for him to remember my name. When I asked about my grade he didn't care to answer me.
Great teacher. Cold winter mornings talking about Marx on the steps. Oh great memories. I guess the class was hard if you are stupid but I'm not so there I said it.
he failed numerous people on the mid-term. we got to redo it but he was not consistent with his grading between different people's tests. he is not offering an unbiased view of philosophy or encourage students to think for themselves about the subject.
Take this class for ethics - the midterm and final were take home tests, although still very hard. He is sort of an unfair grader for some people, but I had an easy time in the class. He is extremely intelligent and my night class flew by, although he never let us out early.

Odd guy...attendance bonus is done on the honors system. You can get by not reading everything, but good luck doing it. Try to say something everyday, it seems to help your stance in the class.
Class is very unstructured and extremly boring. Its hard to take notes you can't tell what's important and what's not important.
NEVER take this person. The first day of class absolutely SUCKED. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS. I dropped it right away. HORRIBLE.
Please do not take this guy. The first day was horrible. I dropped immediately because all he said was going in one ear and out the other. So, so, boring. If you ever have medical ethics, make sure you have the right professor. This guy is the pits.
Loved this professor. Although he's a tough grader, I still loved the class. He's easy to understand and relates philosophy to every day life. Makes you think.
good professor... pretty funny sense of humor. Really makes you think about philosophy in every day life. He can be a jerk, but he's respectful and respected. Lectures were always interesting.
This ranks with Later Shakespeare as one of the two worst classes of my life. He is rude, unclear, and so boring. Do not take this class.
very interesting teacher... it is not hard to get a good grade, just go to class everyday and take good notes. if you pay attention, you will actually learn something that you can take with you. readings are not necessary, he explains everything in detail during his lecture. i would highly recommend his class
Very good teacher. Does expect A LOT from his students. He gives away a lot of bonus points (if you attend EVERY class he will give you 100 EXTRA points-does not take attendance often but knows faces! So you can't trick him) Midterm and final were take-home. Explains everything in class really well! I got an A and did'nt do much of the readings!
Fascinating class. Do not take if you don't like to write. Unless you are sure of what you believe, do not take this class- he is good at swaying people. He wants to challenge his students, but the material is not synonomous with what is in the examinations.
He is a jerk. Don't worry about your grade and just argue with him everyday and you'll be fine.
Do not bring your phone to class! He yells and he threw a chair one time when they ring or even vibrate. Tests are pretty hard and it's impossible to have your own opinion without him telling you you're wrong. It is sometimes hard to tell which parts of his lecture he finds to be the most important.
We had a take home mid term and final, which were both tough and very time consuming. He challenges your views and wants you think about things in a new light. He gives bonus points for showing up at every class and particpation. I think that I learned a little about Plato (and philosophy) from this class but I leared aa lot about life and myself.
im not really sure why people are complaining about him. While at times class can be a little drawn out, the guy is VERY knowledgable about philosophy. Class discussions are atually pretty interesting and sometimes fun when people go on rants and get into a debate. professor camerons personality is enjoyable with his witty comments.TAKE THE CLASS!!
Ug, I hate going to this class. Some of his debate points are good and some are total bull. Go to every class though to get perfect attendance grade and make sure you argue with him alot, which he seems to enjoy. It's hard to take notes because alot of it I don't agree with.
This guy is crazy! Really though, he is highly intelligent and knows what he's talking about. It's a fascinating class, but hard as hell. Do the reading! Know clearly what you are going to say before you argue with him though and it's actually sort of fun. He is just trying to get us to use that thing in our heads called a brain. It's so worth it.
The keys to this class are: write down EVERY word he says and make notes to yourself to "translate" what they mean (even bring a tape-recorder), DO NOT ELECTRONICS, attend every class to get bonus points, speak at least once a week and sit in his eyesight so he "knows" you. I hated this class, but It did make me take a look at myself.
Cameron is intimidating at first, but very accepting of class discussion.Has a strange sense of humor and is very sarcastic, but learned a lot from his teaching methods.Only a takehome midterm/final and can work on with others (recommended!)Not good w/checking email tho.Had a C at midterms, ended up with an A though.
Instead of lecturing on boring and outdated theories, Cameron focuses mainly on modern day application. As much as I dreaded taking this class, I actually enjoyed taking a different perspective on the world around us. If I ever become president, this guy is my first candidate for top political adviser.
Great prof! Unique and well though out perspective on modern ethical dilemmas. Friendly in class and outside of class. Grades papers harshly but is doing so to try and help you improve. Go for the perfect attendance to help your grade. Take LOTS of notes on everything he says. And most important of all, discuss these issues with him. He enjoys it!
Excellent professor. Covers theory, then moves on to application on political and social issues. Take-home midterm & Final, but they are NOT easy. Work HARD on these. Grades harshly to help you improve. Very friendly and helpful. My favorite instructor this semester! You will learn a LOT!
I think I must have a different professor than everyone else because I have nothing nice to say about him. It took him 1.5 months to return our midterms. So I couldn't drop the class without knowing my grade. He's that teacher that thinks he knows everything and wants you to think his way. If you don't you fail. Enjoy having him as a professor.
Philosophy of Karl Marx was an interesting class. He was a hilarious teacher, kind of flaky- he kept watering down our work- ended up our only grade being a huge paper at the end that he only had 2 days to grade. I worked hard on the paper and got an a- i think he put a lot of weight on participation too. Take this class if you like reading.
He is one of the worst teachers I have ever had. Took over a month to get the midterm back, and he does not have a grading scale, he gives grades based on if he likes you and if you think the same way he does. Class is miserable he talks at you the entire time and tells you what your supposed to think.
It's a simple as this: If you're a frat matress or a brah, you'll hate him because he is your antithesis. If you're intelligent, you'll love this man.
He told us he was arrested and going to be sent to jail for 27 years and then his parents paid off the prosecutor. He also said he was a world of war craft moderator. Draw your own conclusions. He is a close minded person, but expected us to be open to his views. Exam was very difficult. It took him weeks to return the midterm. Avoid if possible.
People say you only get an A if you agree with him, but we disagreed on tons of stuff and I still got an A. I also learned that if you listen carefully, you actually agree with him more than you originally think. He was funny, thorough and tough, but fair. Don't take it for an easy ride, but do if you want to leave having actually learned something
WAY too political in class. I'm paying for education, not indoctrination. Kind of irresponsible. Looks like a slob. Totally pretending he isn't Ivory Tower when he totally is. Very smart, but suffocating arrogance. I don't know why Biondi keeps this clown around. He has money. Give someone else the job.
Mr. Cameron is very intimidating and opinionated. He can be funny at times and you will learn something in his class. He's also a very tough grader. Speak up a lot in this class because he likes people who participate (he WILL get mad at the class if hardly anyone participates). Can be condescending at times, but can also offer praise too.
Cameron is not that bad. He is actually an interesting character. Yes, he can be a little intimidating but welcomes your opinions and wants to hear them. If you go to class, pay attention, and participate in discussion you will easily pass the class with an A or a B.
Great guy, he is teaching for the right reasons and actually gives a crap about what you take away from the class and as long as you go to class you should get a good grade. He is smart he knows it, but he is still pretty down to earth about it. I wish more of my teachers where like him, instead of them acting like they have never messed up before
Best teacher I have EVER had. He teaches you about life, and how to be a better person. If you don't take him, you are truly missing out on an opportunity to grow as an individual. Exceptionally intelligent.
If you want to make a difference in this world, take Professor Cameron. He will challenge you and make you think, but you will walk out of there a much better person. His class has been the best experience I have had at SLU.
This is a real Ethics class. Mr. Cameron is a great teacher and cares a lot about his students and how they learn the material. Do not expect his class to be easy.
Most of the people in this class are there because they have to be which sucks to begin with, but having him is even worse. I hated waking up to go to his class in the morning and he didn't even show up. Did not enjoy not having a syllabus to follow. Did not write clear notes. Closes his eyes when he talks and walks into his desk. AVOID.
Although B Cam has some interesting things to say, he is not worth the hassle. He stated on the first day that he doesn't care if you come ****, high, or sleep in class. He contradicts this statement when getting pissy when no one participates. There are better teachers to be taken.
Very tough. If you go to every class you get 100 bonus points...that is definitely worth it. Kind of funny. Expects you to make a lot of effort, but I don't feel like he matches the effort he expects.
Extremely hard class. Do not take if you are not willing to work hard. Calls you out if you do not read and get caught, so just read to avoid that. Other than that he's a man who can change your life. Extremely intelligent, but because of this he is hard to understand (he uses big words). I can say that I walked out of this class a better person.
Great teacher, with a lot of good things to say. Don't take this class if you don't want to work. If you put in the effort you will learn a ton. Take his class. Might want to keep in mind he is a VERY vocal liberal.
Good teacher. Very smart. People need too stop ****ing because they are afraid to learn. I learned a lot which means other can. The subject is hard by nature that is a given. He is one of the smartest teachers I have had and genuinely care about his students if you talk to him after class. Don't be scared kiddos.
Ethics with him was ridiculously hard. Work with others on the midterm and final. He'll teach you how to think critically and how to approach issues from a logical perspective. Take tons of notes, highlight what he goes over in the readings, and write a hella lot for the final, and there's no reason you shouldn't get an A. I did :)
Though I did not receive a bad grade (B), I did not enjoy this class. He knows his stuff, but in my opinion is not good at actually ?teaching? it. He pretty much likes an argument, an intellectual one of course. Most of the students who participated in ?arguments? with him were basically stating their views, which was no proof they understood him e
Worst class ever. The Philosophy of Karl Marx may sound interesting and it's crosslisted about 4 times, but this guy is the most arrogant professor I have ever dealt with.
I really enjoyed this class. It was tough, and there was a lot of reading, but Dr. Cameron was very good at explaining the material. It's tough, but I think very valuable and worth it. I'm not a philosophy major, and so I struggled more than some of the other students, but if you are interested I think it's worth it.
This class is very doable. Dr. Cameron knows his material, and he is very opinionative. The class is very reading intensive, and the reading can be dull. Dr. Cameron does a very good job explaining it, and is always willing to offer help when needed.I do recommend having a slight background in philosophy, econ, or politics though.
Every class was a boring lecture with little discussion. He never returned our midterms so we had no idea how we were doing going into the final.
There are only two grades given in this class: the midterm and the final exam. Both exams are take-home essay sort of projects. If you do not like knowing your grade until the last possible day, then do not take this teacher. Also, participation is a big part of the grade. If you don't like raising your hand, then don't take this teacher.
Brion was horrible, only two exams in this class, mid term and final, never used email or black board, very boring class. Also he used profanity a lot and I really did not like this. I wouldn't recommend him to teach any class ever again.
Cliche as it may be, this class is easy if you put in the work. I highly suggest Dr. Cameron. He is very intelligent. ABSOLUTELY necessary to read the material, participation is huge. He will challenge you to learn like no other teacher, his lesson is useful. 1 mid-term, 1 final. He may have 1 or 2 essays. VERY fair teacher if you try.
I would avoid taking Dr. Cameron if you are looking for an easy A. This class was more difficult than I had anticipated and although it is not impossible to do well if you work VERY hard. Lectures are dull and hard to follow as he goes on many tangents. One midterm and a final (take home essays). If you have perfect attendance you get extra credit.
There are no exams but he gives out two very long and detailed papers and you, more than likely, will not get them back. So basically your grade is composed of two grades. Choose a different teacher!
Infuriatingly giant ego. Every day starts w/ a talk on news & politics just so he show how smart he is. Only assigns a midterm & final essay, but each consists of 6-7 individual essays (a good paper will be 18+ pages). If you don't like to write or aren't already an excellent writer, this class will be difficult. Extra credit for full attendance.
Very bright man w/ knowledge of breadth of subjects, esp. philosophy; however, his teaching methods are questionable. Slides or handouts would be helpful, but he doesn't have either. This sem. he offered 2 take home tests many weeks before their due date. It is daunting to write the essays bc each is so high valued. Don't get book bc online access.
If you are really looking to learn and get the most out of an Introduction to Philosophy class, this is it. This is not an easy blowoff class to say the least. The midterm and final will set you back 10 hours, but put in the work! At the end of the class you leave feeling as if you really learned something and that is extremely rewarding.
Let's be honest, most people want a philosophy class they can skate by and not do the work. Which is why some students have a hard time with professor Cameron. Come to class, read the assigned materials, and you might learn a thing or two. Brian Cameron is an extremely knowledgeable, intelligent and fair individual. Learn something in college.
It's not easy, but if it was, you should ponder why the philosophy "reality and self" class you are taking at a mildly prestigious university is a cakewalk. It probably shouldn't be. Dr. Cameron is incredibly insightful about what he teaches and if you ask real questions, you'll get real answers. Best teacher I've had all semester. All year.
I really enjoyed Dr. Cameron's class. He is highly knowledgeable upon the subject he teaches and is always able to supply clear answers to any questions raised during class. He wants his students to do well; that said, he expects effort and hard work to be put into assignments. If you are willing to put in the work, there shouldn't be a problem.
Very interesting person. His teaching methods are slightly unconventional but I learned a lot, and always looked forward to class. Gives two take home tests, but gives you a ton of time to work on them. If you do at least 2 letter grades better on the final than the midterm, he throws out your midterm grade. Go to his office hours! He cares a lot.
It is in your best interest to read in order to fully understand what is going on. Dr. Cameron does a good job of explaining what you read in class and is always asking if students have any questions, so if you don't understand something it's really on you. He only assigns a midterm and a final, take home tests he gives you three weeks to complete
Dr. Cameron was very fair to his students the entire semester. He lets you know on the first day of class that there will be two papers, and if there's a problem with that he can make an adjustment and we can do tests instead. Very interesting course that I would recommend.
Dr. Cameron was by far the most delightful instructor I have had in a long while. He is extremely intelligent and will make you question things before saying them a second time.
You will take as much out of Dr. Cameron's philosophy courses as you put into them. You can sleep through them or you can be actively engaged and challenge yourself. This is a professor who is willing to speak with students on his own time and can guide self-developed thought. His infamous "egotism" is only known because he gives a damn. Strong rec
ON THE LAST DAY OF CLASS CAMERON PULLED UP THIS PAGE AND ASKED STUDENTS TO WRITE NICE REVIEWS BECAUSE HE IS THAT PETTY. Does not engage students WHATSOEVER & doesn't care about them at all. He literally shows up and lectures with his eyes closed. Walked away from this class with no sense of achievement or value. Cameron is not a teacher I respect.
Great/hysterical professor, but expect to be challenged. By far the hardest class I've ever taken for lack of ppt and a paper for the midterm and final. Spent 14 hours straight on midterm. But it's worth it; due to this class, I am a significantly better and more concise writer than previously.
I just wish I have enough background about the course so I can participate more in class discussion.
We had two grades in this class, the midterm, and final. And though that sounds good its not, he's a super tough grader and looks for the littlest flaws he can find in your argument. Though it makes you a good writer, do not take this class unless you are looking for a challenge. Do not take this class as a blow off.
I really enjoyed my class with Dr. Cameron. The class discussions were in-depth and very good. I feel like I really had a grasp on the material by the time I finished the course.
I took his course on the Philosophy of Karl Marx, initially thinking I would dread it. I couldn't have been more wrong! I looked forward to attending his lectures more than any other this semester because they were stimulating and he did an amazing job of explaining the material. If you have to take Philosophy of Marx, DEFINITELY request Brian!
Took intro to social political theory. The course content was great. Readings were heavy, but there was little pressure to remember ultra-specific details of the text. For the most part, his lectures hit on every relevant point in the text. The final was take-home, and was really long, but we had all semester to do it, and it was all we had to do.
Great professor. He is clearly very intelligent and his lectures can be hard to follow if you don't have a ton of philosophy/sociology background. However, he's great with questions, giving examples, and applying his reasoning to current events. He is funny and down-to-earth. The final is 70% of your grade, but is a take home 30 page event. Prepare
Interesting lectures
Doesn't answer emails and doesn't make himself available to meet with him. He assigned a textbook which was a waste of time and money because we barely used it and he told us everyday "not to write like this" when we were talking about the articles. I'm not a PHIL major but I put in hard work to pass but still ended up with a D. I do not recommend.
I really enjoyed having Dr. Cameron as my professor. He was always willing to help you understand the material, and the lectures were very interesting. I was actually really excited to attend his lectures. The only thing is, if you want an A, you'll have to work for it. Study the material, be present and participate. Don't blame him, if you fail.
I would not recommend taking Professor Cameron if you want an easy A. I had to work my butt off to get an A!!!! He is a tough grader and is very specific about what he wants written in the papers. If your paper is good, you get a B. Only if your paper is exceptional, you will get an A.
He's horrible. Constant "stick it to the man" attitude, didn't learn much. Had to do the readings and THERE WERE SO MANY. You have a midterm and final grade that's it. You have to work hard the night before on those exams. They are take home, so if you're up for the challenge go for it. Forget about meeting outside of class if needed, you won't.
I greatly disliked Cameron as a person. He made us uncomfortable many times in class and the lectures were often off topic. There were 2 grades, take-home midterm and final. If you focus on the material and try, you can get an A, but it wasn't easy & sitting through the lectures was painful. There was ec for perfect attendance. Says "Pax!" a lot.
College level course, Um so YES YOU ARE EXPECTED TO PREFORM AT A COLLEGE LEVEL PEOPLE! Dr. C is incredibly knowledgeable and challenges your mind. If you are lazy, take a different class. You Gain more knowledge, by stepping out of comfort zones, dive in a deeper level of life. Exceptional Class, exceptional human being. #woke #forthepeople
He comes off as a hard ass but he is the one professor I actually learned something from! Take notes & dont be that organized w it bc he goes fast and youd be surprised how random messy notes will come in handy! 100 extra cred points for perfect attendance and trust me you want to go to this class bc if you don't you'll fail the midterm & final
Cameron was a great professor. Very inspirational and often mixed in components of life with the lesson. Reading was needed but not really. A bit intimidating but great in the long run
Phil of Marx: Wonderful professor. The design of the course consists of extensive reading of Aristotle, Marx, and Lenin, and there's a heavy focus on class discussion. There is tremendous opportunity to learn and participate, but if you're not interested in the material or don't read texts you wont do well. V rewarding and a knowledge professor.
Great professor, he is very knowledgable in his field and just a well rounded individual in general. He cares a great deal about his field and especially the students. His class was very challenging, funny, and interesting. Get ready to think outside the box and really produce phenomenal papers if you want that "A".
Hilarious guy and very fun to listen to. Prof Cameron is very knowledgable and makes you think. Doesn't give tests or quizzes, the only grades in his class are attendance, the take home midterm and the take home final. As long as you take notes, you will do great. Cares greatly about students' mental health and success. 100% recommend.
Absolutely no idea what any of the topics were in his class but he assumes you should be able to know it. Answers have to be something that he believes is right. There is no alternate way to answer the question without it being wrong if he doesn't believe it's right. Never taking Philosophy again.
He is a great person and I wish he would have taught another subject because the class he teaches is very hard. His midterm was tough however the final took me 7 hours and I am still scared for my grade because the questions he gives are very tough and there are no notes to go along with lectures. I will say he genuinely cares about mental health
I think Dr. Cameron is a nice guy but as a professor, he was not great. I struggled to understand what we were learning in class. I took notes every class and I had a rough time with the midterm and final. He does do 100 extra credit points for perfect attendance. I am never taking him again. Tough grader and his exams are so difficult.
Dr. Cameron hate Texas. If you are someone with any sense you will not take his classes. Remember the Alamo! Remember Goliad! Long live TEXAS!!!!!
There are so many things to say about this man. Weird, frequent tangents, kinda paranoid. Doesn't have a cell phone kinda guy. Lectures were a little boring and the same thing everyday. Only 3 grades - midterm, final, participation. But you get an extra 10% for perfect attendance. GO TO CLASS, it helped my grade so much. Easier grader than expected
I love philosophy. He made me enjoy it less. We got our midterm grades back a month and a half after we got it, two weeks before the final. Additionally, his lectures are very dry, and he is very opinionated. Hearing him talk about subjects that he was so clearly not an expert on was frustrating. Avoid if possible. Niceish guy, not great professor.
Brian Cameron is awesome. I was able to score over 100 in the class without reading once. Just show up to lecture and take good notes. He has only a midterm and a final but they're both take home and you get weeks to do them. He gives a 10% bonus to your final grade for perfect attendance. This guy should be mandatory at SLU.
He asks you how many assignments you want in the class, but he is a very picky grader. He also yelled at us the whole semester for not participating when 5 or more students would talk every class, so that was annoying. Overall, as long as you write well and show that you understand the content, he will give you credit and you'll get a good grade.
Vaped in class a few times, and his bad language was often used in what seemed like an attempt at humor, but it created a very unprofessional environment allowing students to use similar language. We took the online midterm and the majority of the questions had nothing to do with class topics and it took him over a month to get us our essays back.
You will get a lot out of this class if you read. He assigns a lot of reading but most of it is interesting, except Anselm that was boring. Material he covers is interesting. Bit of an egoist but that is most professors. Opinionated and ready to argue which I like. got 110 on midterm, final unknown.
Dr. Cameron's "Ultimate Questions in Theology" is an enjoyable class for any undergraduate student. While there are some heavy readings, most of the content is interesting. Additionally, the class is lecture heavy - and taking good notes will only help you throughout the semester. Cameron is respectful, understanding, and knowledgeable.
Really mean professor. talked to us more about his drug addiction rather than content. made me feel really bad about myself when i took the midterm and literally said a bunch of rude things to me which hurt my feelings soooo bad that I was sooo scared and embarrassed to come back to class . to top it off he sent that message to me on thanksgiving
Professor Cameron's ethics class has been incredible. Take it if you can!! And take notes. Lots of notes. Notes will be your best friend. Don't be a jerk in class and he won't be mean. He's more than happy to answer questions and explain things further if you ask.
Goes on a lot of philosophical tangents but I enjoyed them. Entire grade is based off miderm project and final project. Takes forever to grade but gives in-depth feedback to make you a better thinker. Makes uncomfortable eye contact while lecturing, just know it's not personal. Overall interesting guy, I enjoyed the class though.
Honestly a just mean professor. Every comment of feedback is not constructive, just simply rude. It's very discouraging to have a professor like Brain, and its discouraging enough to not want to ask for help, especially when help is needed. Brain- fix your attitude.
Brian's modules were VERY fast paced, which is to be expected for an online class. But 3, sometimes 2 days to watch a 2+ hour long movie and get all the lecture material read/watched was an insane pace. Gives good feedback and gives credit for opposing viewpoints so long as you explain and argue your view. He disagreed on many of mine and gave 100%
Prof Cameron's class is challenging but engaging. Though lectures can be dry, his passion for the material shines through. Attend every class, take messy notes, and use Unstuckstudy alongside the textbook to excel. Overall, a rewarding experience for philosophy buffs.
100 points of extra credit if you have perfect attendance and you get a free mental health day to use at your discretion. The only grades for this class are attendance, a midterm paper, a final paper, and a one page reflection. Dr. Cameron is hilarious and very intelligent, but he might rub you the wrong way if you don't like his style of teaching.
