Extremely nice guy, really funny, makes health class interesting. The study guides are very helpful for the exams but you'll need the book to fill all of them out. He gives you the answers to test questions during class. very easy class but one I usually look forward to going to.

Hotty with a body. So nice! Very enthusiastic about everything. Tests are simple, goes right along with the study guide. No final, just an exam on the 3rd section. You don't have to buy the book, just borrow it for like 2 hours from somebody who does, just so you can fill out the study guides for exams.

Textbook is only used for the studyguide which he tells you what page each answer is on, tests are almost exactly the studyguide and attendance is only mandatory because a workbook is due everyday. He's really funny though and so so so hot ah

He relates a lot of material to real life situations and always has a story for something. Not only is he a great professor he's also SUPER hot! (former baseball player, enough said)

He is an amazing professor. He is extremely nice and makes the lectures interesting. The way he holds himself is very endearing and I wish I could take another class with him. He is very quick with grading and tells you exactly what you need to do to get an A. Also, he is very good looking... definitely makes waking up to go to class much easier.

He's my favorite teacher I've had in college so far. Loves his job and loves his students. Make sure you sit in the front of his lectures, because then he'll use you in examples. He believes in edu-taining, and he certainly does that. Despite telling lots of hilarious stories, he always prepares you for the tests. You'll want to go to class.

Cav is the best professor, TAKE HIS CLASS! Workbook assignments are easy and the two passport events I went to were informative. Three tests, the final is not cumulative. Do the study guides and you'll do well on the tests, they're practically identical. Cool guy with lots of funny stories, he's always so happy to be in class. Would take again!

Mr. Cavanaugh was an amazing teacher! I didn't really use the textbook and the study guides for the tests are just like the tests! He goes above and beyond to help his students. If you miss class because you're sick, etc he will be understanding and will help you out! He is one of the best professors out there 100%. Also, he tells cool stories.

LOVED THIS CLASS. Health was never my favorite subject in middle & high school, but he made it so interesting & fun. He would give personal stories and never failed to make our class laugh. Class is based on a few quizzes and tests, which questions cames from clear study guides. PLUS HE'S REALLY ATTRACTIVE. Definitely taking another class w/ him.

LOVE Mr. C. The chief grades are the tests but he gives detailed study guides--if you read them you'll get an A. Homework every week that he doesn't check in detail--you just need to do it. 5q quizzes to go with the homework (if you've done it you'll get an A). His lectures are funny and he pursues relationships with his students.

Mr. C is awesome. This class is really easy! Just make sure that you go to class to turn in workbook. He does do attendance but I enjoyed his class and plan on taking another one of his classes. Quizzes and Test are pretty easy. The study guides are really long but all of it is in the book and it helps for the test. Also does extra credit!

Best teacher ever. He's a funny and cool guy. 3 Tests, 35 questions. Gives you a study guide. Don't need textbook, only the workbook. Study guide answers are all online. Final is just the 3rd test, not cummulative.

Pay attention to lectures, he is clear on what is important. Don't take advantage he is very generous with everything. If you do the homework and pay attention you'll do great. definitely my fav professor this semester. this class is not hard whatsoever. all you have to is the workbook assignments and show up. tests are mostly common sense, as well. cavanaugh actually takes the time to learn your name and makes learning the material fun.

Truly cares about his students. Theres a woman whos pregnant in our class and the second class he came with a gift for her and it was onesies for her little baby when hes born!! So sweet. His lectures are hilarious, I always look forward to going to class. Really just an awesome professor and person!

Cavanaugh was an amazing professor. The class set up was watch the lecutre video (less than 20 min) and take a 10 question t/f quiz after. He gave you a full two weeks to do 4 assignments like this. No papers, nothing difficult at all. We only had two in person lectures but he loved to get the class involved. Loved this class and prof!

I took this class online and he made it funny and relatable. Mr. Cavanaugh makes an effort for his students to genuinely learn the concepts and take away important lessons they will use everyday.

He makes class so much fun and even though attendance isn't required I would still show up to listen to lectures. Attendance only hurts you on quiz grades and tests if you arent there to listen to the powerpoints. Always put a smile on my face and felt so welcome in this class. Very laidback and would def recommend him!

Took this class in person. Is by far one of the best professors Ive had at ECU. Attendance isn't mandatory but I recommend going to the classes because you learn stuff he docent put online and he tells very funny stories that always keeps you interested! The quizzes and tests are online and are super easy common sense questions.

Such a kind, compassionate man! He learns your name, never guilt trips you, makes his lessons interesting, and is so understanding about mental health! I absolutely adore this man, I wish every professor was like him! He's lighthearted but also gets his content across well and makes every class a pleasure- 100% recommend him!

The class was set up to have split groups to have a smaller group. Great for more personal connections and He really makes you feel comfortable in his class. Pretty easy quizzes just make sure to pay attention, I did not take any notes and still passed the quizzes fairly easily. Do go to class! 10/10 do recommend!

Professor Cavanaugh is both an amazing professor and person, he truly cares about all of his students and wants to make sure everyone feels welcomed in his class room. It is a fairly simple course and you can do well without going to class however professor. Cavanaugh makes class fun and inclusive that you will actually want to attend.

Great professor, but he often goes on tangents. My class was hybrid, so I felt I learned more from watching the video lessons than I did going to class. There is a quiz after each lesson and they are super easy.

Pick Cavanaugh for Hlth 1000! He genuinely wants to see his students succeed and is always there to help! One class a week, you have an easy 10 question quiz for every lecture (2/week), unit journals with easy but meaningful prompts, and 3 test, PLUS 20 points of extra credit. Final is only the topics covered in Unit 3. Take him! Easiest A at ECU.

Also, 95% of the exams are from the workbooks so if you take the time to read through and do it, you will pass easily and with a perfect score. first two test are taken online with lockdown browser and the final is in person. easy class overall.

Brian was the best professor I have had at ECU. This class was in the evening, so sometimes it was hard to convince myself to go/not get tired during it. He made me actually want to go to class and want to pay attention because his lectures were so intriguing. Can't say enough good things about him and highly recommend him for any class!!

I had the worst experience known to man in my senior year health class in high school. I took Mr. Cavanaugh's class and he somehow made health actually fun and useful. He not only made me want to get an A in the class but also to actually understand and learn what I was being taught because you will learn nothing but useful things in his class.

Very good professor who genuinely cares about his students. Attendance is tracked using a weekly workbook, and the majority of his extra credit is earned by donating blood during a blood drive. Study for his tests, and you will easily pass the class.
