I took cervantez both semesters because his class rocked! His class is actually really interesting, and you can tell he loves history. His tests are 100% based on notes so if you go to every class you will do great! If you don't go to class, don't even bother reading the book cuz you're screwed. He is really nice and very cool. I recommend him

I think he's a "alright" teacher. Class is mandatory b/c his exams are his notes. He grades you on chapter quizzes and discussion boards need to be posted to the other people in your class. His exams are 10 multiple choice 10 fill-in-the-blank and a 40pt short essay!!! Thats what kills you. He gives you a good review though. Very Smart Teacher!

If you google all the terms on the review, you'll make an A on the test. He teaches one thing, the book teaches something entirely different. The online quizes are BRUTAL!! not only do you have to read the chapter thoroughly, when taking the quiz, you have to re-read thoroughly. The quiz questions ask for the "Exception" not the answer. Quizzes take about an hour to complete w/ the book and studying.

This teacher is a heavy lecture based teacher that will let you record his lectures. The lectures will be on the tests and nothing from the book is on the test. Now the book reading has a quiz that you have to take very week for a chapter from the book. He is very caring and will help you if you have any questions.

This teacher really annoyed me. He DOES NOT respond to your emails promptly. He may have responded to only 1 of my emails the entire semester! I did not like the inquisitive assignments online. They were very time consuming. The tests weren't that bad. Lots of reading, however, the reading was interesting.

Cervantez is one of the best teachers I have taken at TCC. DO NOT GET THE TEXTBOOK! He has his own powerpoints and he lectures like he is telling a story, so you really stay interested. He is passionate about history and he cares about his students. Always available for questions and super patient. TAKE HIM, YOU WONT REGRET.

Took him during wintermester. He was very very lecture heavy. Sometimes talked about stuff we didn't need to know for exams, but most of it was interesting. Very sweet. Lets you bring one page of notes front and back to exams. Highly knowledgeable. Reminds me of Phillip DeFranco.

Dr. Cervantez adores History! I love teachers like this, because they teach with interest and passion! He knows what he's talking about and gives fair tests about what you learned; not to trick you. I took a mini-mester and found it the perfect amount of applying yourself but not killing yourself for a good grade! Would take him again if I could.

Very straight forward course. A quiz for each chapter (can take 3x, easy), 3 essay exams, and 3 DBs(easy). My only con for this professor is that he takes FOREVER to grade essays. I made a B on my first essay and he posted grades the day before our second essay was due so it made it difficult to correct mistakes. Doesn't post when things will open.

He's not a hard grader, but his multiple choice was a bit hard, just read the textbook. He was a little disorganized and unprofessional. I asked him about the last exam if we read only the two chapters, he said yes, but his exam had a lot of question from a different chapter that I'm not "suppose" to read. Just study hard and you'll be fine.

Pre-test at the beginning of the course that counts as extra credit, chapter quizzes that you can take three times (super easy), 3 discussion boards, and 3 essay exams. Other than having essay exams and only graded on 3 things(quizzes, discussions, and essay exams), his class is pretty easy. All quizzes are given 3 chances and can mostly be found quizlet, not that you need it really.
