Dr. Chung is hilarious!!! Honestly if you want a Prof that loves what he does and wants you to really understand the material he is your guy! His tests are tough but if you study his PP notes and go to lab you will have no problems.
Awesome, funny prof. who loves what he teaches. Harder than I thought but he offers lots of extra credit. Don't bother with the lecture book, just go to lab and study his p.p. notes.
Dr. Chung is AWESOME! He knows the material is difficult for some people and tries to make it easier. He usually gives some extra credit on tests, but you DEFINITELY need to study for lecture and lab. I got an A, but I worked my butt off for it. Dr. Chung just seems to understand the student's point of view and isn't too harsh.
Barnone the best professor I have ever had. He knows what he teaches and teaches so students can understand. If you want to learn the material and enjoy the class, Dr. Chung is the way to go.
Dr. Chung loves his topic and loves to teach. He has great slides and wonderful descriptions from his Real life as a research doctor.
He has excellent PP slides that are always available, so absolutely no need to buy the book :) He was very helpful when I needed help and graded fairly. The tests were murderous (there is sooo much to cover in Human Biology so its partially not his fault). The extra credit points saved my grade. I'd recommend him overall, but you MUST study!
Go to class. Take good notes and study. Do this and you will do well. He's really fair. He gives extra credit on tests and will throw out a question if everyone missed it.
He is a very upbeat proffesor. i always looked forward to going to class. he is so funny
The class covered a lot of material, but Dr. Chung kept things interesting. He has a funny personality. All questions on the tests seemed to have come from the power point presentations. I learned a lot. Great professor!
Dr. Chung is very straight forward. I think he is great at teaching human biology. The material is a lot to cover, but usually there is an SI for the class. I recommend going to that to get an A
i did have to take this class a couple times to get a better grade. i would recommend not taking this your first year of college. don't let him scare you about the class. just study your butt off and really all you need are the power points. the book is only a reference if you need it. go to the SI's and you will do well.
This class is not easy! You must be willing to study alot. I enjoyed the class but found the test were extremely hard.
Very articulate albeit w/ a potty mouth. Shares a wealth of info from his MD background to encourage understanding of gross anatomy structures/functions. Difficult class w/ extra hrs required in open lab and still more hrs studying. Don't get behind in the material, it comes at you fast. Great teacher and interesting class.
Human biology is a hard subject. It's not his fault. Not an easy A. It requires studying. He is very funny. He tells jokes that apply to the subject and I find myself laughing out loud along with the rest of the class. It doesn't hurt that he is nice to look at either. He makes the subject fun!
Chung is definately passionate about what he teaches. Has a bit of a potty mouth but also makes funny jokes. You'll work your butt off in his class. If you don't have an extra 12-15hrs a week to go to labs & study, don't bother taking the class.
I wouldn't have taken the class from anyone else. HARD class. Worked my butt off & only got a C. Make sure you dont get Eric Nelson as lab instructor-you'll get bad grade. Hard topic. Could be stretched out into a couple semesters or something. Lot of material/Tests were HARD too. Prepare to possibly retake the class. He's funny & easy on the eyes.
Dr. Chung is an excellent Professor. He keep the class well entertained. The course content is given early on in the course. Study is a must. The SI sessions were also a huge help
Hard class! Dedicated several hours a week to studying. Tests were hard but he uses bonus points to your advantage. Even though my test scores averaged a b- I got an a. This guy has the cheesiest jokes.
Easy class. The entire grade was based on 4 tests, which you have a week to take, and notes are allowed. He doesn't expect students to remember everything, just mainly key concepts. All powerpoints from class were available online. Don't buy the book. Mine never left the shrinkwrap. SI sessions were very helpful.
Chung is an awesome teacher. He knows his stuff and he makes lecture interesting with his crazy stories. He's a total nerd but he does an amazing job.
He knows his stuff and does expect you to know what is taught in class. He is not overly hard but does expect his students to know more then just the terms. I learned a lot from his class and I would recommend taking from him. You do need to plan time for SI sessions and open labs. This is key to success!
Anatomy is not an easy course, but Dr. Chung makes it very clear and his lectures are enjoyable. He tests completely from his lecture slides. You don't even have to purchase a textbook if you don't want to. IF YOU STUDY, you will do very well in his class.
Great class and teacher!! very clear on what you need to know and very experienced proffessor. Very time consuming class but chung is one of the best if your going to take it
Dr. Chung is an amazing teacher. His class covers a lot of information but I thought it was easy to do well. The SI sessions were incredibly helpful and class was so fun!! Definitely the best class you'll ever take!
Dr Chung was great. He kept class interesting and was always tying in clinical experiences with lecture. He was very clear and easy to understand and made class enjoyable!
EASY class! two pages of notes allowed on tests! SI sessions to tell you what is on test. class is interesting and he is funny. Attendance is mandatory to get notes to use on the tests. 5 bonus questions on each test
Amazing professor. Will go above and beyond to explain ideas and concept of anatomy - perfect person to run the advanced anatomy course.
Great professor. The class was quite hard. Lot's of material covered. Lot's of studying needed. But Dr. Chung was very accessible for help when needed. Always clear in his lectures. He knows the subject and insists you know it too.
ZOOL 1010 was so fun with him. He's hilarious, but racy so if you're very conservative, be careful. Notes are allowed on tests and you never use the book. If you miss class, his notes are online. Very fun and informative class
Human anatomy is an insanely hard class. And he spends 90% of his time telling you how hard to class is instead of actually teaching. It's really a confidence killer. So just be prepared for that.
DON'T BUY THE BOOK. he will ask you to return it anyway. I loved him, makes bio really interesting. you're grade is based on tests only, he offers extra credit on each test. they are based soley on his lectures. go to the SI's they saved my grade. look forward to taking more classes from him
Dr. Chung was a good teacher but he graded only on tests, so if you don't test well you may want to re-think his class. He is a very smart man and knows his stuff. His tests required lots of studying. He was very willing to help with any questions you had! And you could bring 2 pages of notes into your tests.
Textbook not needed for class. Funny, articulate lecturer but not always politically correct. Lets you use notes on tests. He had us learn a little bit of chemistry in the first unit, but he didn't teach that part well. He taught better when we got into the actual human bio info. Easy A if you study regularly and make good notes to bring to test.
I LOVE DR. CHUNG!He is great. However.I had to take his class twice because it took me way too long to figure out how to study for anatomy. Easily the hardest class I've taken in college. Most freshman won't do well. He's funny. He doesn't make it impossible for a good grade, he gives extra credit in his tests. Study 10 hours per week AT LEAST!
GO TO S.I.! AND OPEN LAB TWICE PER WEEK! His tests are not easy, but they're not impossible or unfair. He loves integrating everything as you learn how systems work together. Don't text in his class, he notices although he may not say anything to you, and you could ruin your chance to be a lab instructor. He notices if you come to class or not.
Tough course to cram in all of the material but he presented it flawlessly and told us NOT to buy the expensive text book. I kept his powerpoint presentations for future reference and will recommend him as a professor for any course you need that he teaches.
Brian Chung is a great professor. He is extremely knowledgeable and REALLY funny. He wants his students to work hard, but he wants them to do well too. I would highly recommend taking human biology from him.
Chung is hilarious. I learned a ton in this class; I'm sure it will be a great precursor to Anatomy. 4 unit tests and a semi-comprehensive final. They were pretty difficult (especially the final), but he gives you extra points. Pay attention in class, maybe attend a few SI's and you'll do great.
Great teacher. Really funny. It's a tough class with a lot to absorb, but studying his slides and going to open lab at least once a week (two is better) will earn you an A. It's not complex, just a huge amount of info to memorize.
Great teacher. Hard class requires a lot of study time. Wouldn't take this class from anyone else.
One of the best professors I've had the pleasure of learning from. Very clear on what he wants you to know. Go to class everyday, and attend a few SI sessions and you'll pass. Great pre requisite for ZOO 2010.
Zool-1020 still in class as a freshmen: if you want to pass this class -don't take it from him: he runs it as a NO textbook NO classwork NO homework class.
Chung is awesome. Great teacher. Never miss class cause you need to fill in all the slides as he teaches (his test is directly from the slides). The lab is cool. Study HARD for it and use open lab! DON'T BUY THE TEXTBOOK you WILL NOT NEED IT. You'll only need the lab manual (don't need weber edition. Just buy it online)
Dr. Chung is an amazing teacher. He cares about his students....as long as his students care about their own education. He does expect students to be engaged in learning, but students in this class SHOULD be, since most of us want to go into some sort of medical career. Come to class, take notes, to to SI sessions, STUDY...you'll do great.
Human Anatomy is extremely hard and time-consuming. That being said, if you put the work in (I'm not being a baby; it's a LOT of work), you will succeed, learn a lot, and have lots of fun. Chung is fair in grading, but his class is a lot harder than other universities'. If you fall behind once, you're screwed. Study at least a little everyday.
Chung was a great professor and is very smart. If you do not have the time to put into this class don't take it. I went to open lab 2 to 4 times a week and did fair on lecture exams and got a B+ in the class. You HAVE to put in the work or you will not pass. I used the TEXT b/c sometimes his slides are confusing & I would use the text to clarify.
Dr. Chung is the man! There's no way around how hard anatomy is (for me not quite as hard as OChem, but still up there), but Dr. Chung makes it as good as he can. Be willing to put in the time - especially in open lab. If you have any concerns, go talk with Dr. Chung. He may seem unapproachable in class but is really a nice guy willing to help out!
Very time consuming class. If you don't have time, don't bother. You will fail or get a C. His tests can be difficult and tricky. Your lab score is dependent on how your instructors test. Overall, Chung is GREAT and his class is amazing! You will learn A TON!
He is super smart and really knows what he is talking about. He's funny, and cares about his students. I wouldn't take Anatomy with any other teacher. His tests are hard, but he's a great teacher.
Chung is brilliant! He is very entertaining lecturer. Loved his class but had to study my butt off. Tests are tough make it so you really have to know the material. Study the slides and study hard for the lab.
Doesn't care how well you know the material just wants to test your testing skills. Very confusing and tricky tests. Only reason he has a high rating is because he's one of two teachers and no one can understand the other teacher because her heavy accent.
Grades are only based off of four tests. If you go to class and study the notes you'll do fine on the tests. Allows two pages of notes during the test. Don't need the book. Relates the material to everyday things which helped me understand and remember better.
Brian Chung is the best teacher I've ever had. He is amazing. He is exactly what you would expect out of a TEACHER. He is there to teach, and engage his students. I am not a great student, but I was always excited to go to his class, and I excelled in his class because of his teaching style. I wish I could learn from him all through med school.
Dr. Chung is a great professor. Human Anatomy is a hard class and there is no way around it. Take it from Chung if you want to know the material like every future Health professional should. I'm still amazed at how much I learned in his class. I wish he taught more upper division courses.
Best teacher ever
He doesn't require the book so class time is required for it to be easy to understand. He also is very willing to help and get you to understand everything.
Dr. Chung is an amazing teacher. He helps you understand the material if you are willing to learn and help yourself. Study the material and you will do well on the tests. Hard class but a hard subject. Definitely worth it!
This professor does not teach with black and white clarity. The information he delivers in convoluted. His texts are really strangely written with chain questions. I would not recommend him to anyone if there is a choice. The lab instructors (who are students) are more clear about the information than he was. He is an income professor.
Great professor. really knows his stuff. tells you what you need to know. this isn't an easy subject, but Chung makes it fun and interesting. If you decide to purchase a book, he recommends just getting the cheapest anatomy book you can find. "anatomy hasn't changed in a hundred years. You don't need a brand new book"
This is a time consuming class, be warned now....the labs take tons of study time. His tests are hard with chain questions and wording to trick you, be careful...it would be nice if he was not testing your testing skills but more of the material. He does know his stuff and does a great job teaching.
the class is a little hard but he is a good teacher and tries to crack jokes at eight in the morning. dont need to buy book which is a plus
Chung is awesome, he's so funny. He doesn't baby his students though. This is a tough subject, that you need to learn to practice in any medical career. It requires a lot of time. Lab is so helpful in learning the material but it is tough too. The end few weeks are what counts the most! But if you don't keep up you're screwed. S.I.'s are helpful!
Dr Chung is a very misleading guy. He talks as though he is a student advocate, but unless you praise him incessantly expect no love from him.He comes off arrogant, and wont accept any other opinion other than his own. At the end of the day he doesn't care about his student's success at all. I got an A in his class, but would never recommend him.
his tests are a joke, doesnt test you on material its all wordy problems to trick you
Hardest class I have had a WSU. He is too smart to be teaching a gen ed class. The first test I ever failed was in this class. Expect a lot of notes and he does not give study guides. I'm half way through and I don't even know if I will pass. If this is your major take if from him, if not, find another teacher.
Chung was a good teacher. He expects his class to already have knowledge in the biology field so if you don't its pretty hard. He only gives 4 tests a year so its pretty pass or fail for him.
This class is way too difficult for a lower level class. It takes a lot of work. He is a quirky guy though and that makes the lectures enjoyable but the test a really difficult. Be ready for a tough course.
Best teacher I've ever had. With that being said, he is far from an easy A. He will challenge you to think critically, apply and not regurgitate your knowledge. If you have hopes of being a Doctor or another medical profession, take his class.
Dr. Chung is an amazing professor. I admit I had to take this class twice to get an "A". He makes sure that you know the material forwards and backwards before you leave the class. NOT EASY. But i have never learned so much in a class before! Amazing guy!
Very intelligent, arrogant professor. Tests are designed to trick you and focus more on spelling than the actual material. I asked for a one day lenience (before or after) on a test two months in advance and was denied. Loved the material both times I took the class but no so fond of the guy teaching it.
Dr Chung is an amazing educator. His class is difficult, but he does all he can to spell out his expectations & gives you all the tools you need to succeed. If you are a person who is attracted to an amazing mind, then you'll agree with me that Dr Chung is one of the hottest men I have ever seen. His wit, intellect, and kindness are incredible.
The course is fast paced and a lot to handle in just 15 weeks. The instructor is challenging but fair when it comes to tests and seemed to take the time to answer and explain questions. The instructor was organized and had structure that was not hard to follow. Tests off his powerpoint slides and book. It will require a lot of your time and focus.
The first day of class he said don't waste money on the textbook. His slides are all online and that's his "textbook" Secondly, he allowed 2 full pages (front & back) of notes on every exam! I just shrunk his slides down and fit all of them on my exam notes. Talk about cake!Go to class, print the notes and you'd be hard pressed to fail.
Dr. chung, is probably the most intelligent person on campus he has the sexiest brain. you learn soo much in little time. hard class but very doable requires alot of time. .... put your kids for adoption. (if you have any)
Dr. Chung is a wonderful professor. People talk about how he tries to trick you on his tests; he doesn't. He expects you to know the material that he is teaching, and he expects you to be able to apply your knowledge. If you are looking for a class just to memorize facts and not use them, this is not your class. It is a challenge that was worth it.
Human Anatomy was AMAZING! Dr. Chung really knows what he is talking about, and his lectures are very interesting. His lecture tests go incredibly in depth, but not impossible if you study. He expects you to think for yourself and think through things in a different way. I learned how to be a better student from this class. Take it if you can!
Dr. Chung is by far the best professor at Weber. Yes his class is very challenging but if you put in the effort and time, you will do well. He even takes extra time in his office to run through test questions you missed and explains why and where the material on the test was found in his notes. Amazing lecturer. Would not recommend missing a class.
I took this class with an intense workload. A minimum amount of studyhomework time to get a B or A in this class is 4 hours a week (that's if you're really smart). If you have to take this class, TAKE IT FROM HIM. He's the best option. His tests are multiple choice 3 He's entertaining and understanding, if arrogant. #Studyhardandyou'llbefine!
Dr. Chung is not a good professor. He will specific try and trick you on exams and has multiple spell errors in them. I hated his class and would never take another class from him again.
I liked him. He was very clear in what he wanted you to know. If you have questions he is very approachable and is very willing to help you. He is very kind and knows his stuff, super smart! He does give out the toughest tests I have had to take yet, but if you put in the time and effort you will get the results. Maybe take this class by itself.
Such a funny, interesting guy! This class would have been impossible for me if I didn't go to the provided study sessions. There is a lot of memorization and all the quizzes and tests are tricky. Totally doable if you study and take your time on them. Entire grade is based on tests and quizzes.
Dr. Chung is very intelligent. His tests are tough, but I enjoyed the challenge. This class will challenge your studying skills. You may want to rethink how you study. Go to SI and do the practice tests to get an idea of how well you know the material. You can ask Dr. Chung anything!
Dr. Chung is an incredible instructor and really pushes to challenge his students. You will learn literally everything there is to know about anatomy, and then some. Abort your wife, divorce your children, and buckle up. It's anatomy.
Amazingly hilarious. Lectures cover a lot of material, so go to the S.I. sessions. Tests aren't exactly tricky as they are specific. Ask questions and he is willing to clarify. On every test he also threw out questions, so grades were boosted at least half a grade. He works very hard to make sure students don't just memorize, but know the material.
Chung's lectures are based around messy power point slides, and his good humor. Tests can be punishing, as Chung tests your understanding of the material instead of the ability to memorize just definitions. No assignments. Four tests and four quizzes make up your grade. If you want an A, I also suggest getting the book that isn't "required" to get.
Awe, Dr. Chung... He was fun and witty. Don't buy the book, just go to class. Take advantage of the SI sessions and study. We were suppose to have 10 quizzes and ended up with 4. Tests were hard, but if you understand how the systems work and don't just memorize (memorize a little) you should be fine. I loved his class.
Dr. Chung is an amazing professor! Obvious passion for what he does. Not an easy class if you don't put in the work. If you have the desire to learn a lot and very quickly, you will love this class!
Dr. Chung is the best professor I have had at Weber! Wherever you take Anatomy it is going to be difficult; however, Dr. Chung explains the material so well (and is hilarious) that if you take the time you will succeed! Weekly lab quizzes, lab midterm & final, 3 lecture exams, and lecture final. Hardest exams but so rewarding! Take from Chung!!
Dr Chung's class was very challenging. His lectures are entertaining and he works hard to ensure students understand the material. He will tell you how to succeed in his class on the first day, follow his instructions and you will do well. Go to as many open labs as you can and view all the videos. SI test reviews are extremely helpful.
It wasn't nearly as bad or hard as everyone says it is. He talks really fast and there is a lot of material, but I only studied the weekend before the tests and did great on all of them. Just make sure that you take your time and actually read the question 5 times because just one misread word can ruin it. Go to the test reviews and you'll be fine.
I have taken this class from another professor as well and Chung is by far the best. He doesn't make you feel "below him" or dumb. Any questions you ask he will answer and explain so that you understand. Even if it is a very simple concept or something that he just barely talked about. He will go over it as much as you need. BUY THE BOOKS!!!
Brian Chung is a great teacher----if you understand terminology about EVERYTHING. He's been in a few occupations and won't forget to tell you so. He's a hard grader, and an even tougher lecturer. He's very forward about what he expects. BE READY TO FAIL unless you understand the material. I would recommend taking an introductory course first.
Very clear about what he expects of the students. If you don't put in the work, you definitely will not pass. Make sure you go to open lab at least twice a week. You will not pass if you don't go to SI sessions. It's a difficult class because it has a lot of material to memorize but overall the material wasn't so hard.
DO NOT TAKE!! I have never taken a harder class. He does great when it comes to teaching his class but he puts things on his tests that arent in the slide shows and notes. If he gets a question wrong on a quiz or test he will blme it on you. I put in 60 hours a week studying and Im a 4.0 student and got a C-. 12 out of 240 we left at the semester.
Professor Chung is a very good teacher. He is very knowledgeable. This course though is very hard. Hardest class I have ever taken. If you are planning on taking this class. Be prepared and ready to dedicate all of your time to this class.
The hardest Class I've ever taken. He is very specific on what he wants and how he wants it done. He is a wonderful professor and a really great guy, but his tests are death. If you don't go to SI and Open lab as much as possible best you'll get is a C.
This class was the hardest class I have ever taken. Be warned. Dr. Chung is a very smart man and definitely knows what he is talking about, but his course is very very difficult. Be ready to study hard and still not pass. I studied for hours every day leading up to the first lab exam and I got a D. Almost everyone has to retake it at least onc
Super great professor. Absolutely knows what he is talking about and to top it off, he's hilarious. You definitely won't pass by not showing up. Be ready to work your tail off, both in lecture and lab, if you want a good grade. might be intimidating at first, but he's very easy to talk to.
Dr. Chung is not a hard professor, he is just teaching a hard subject. That is the key thing to remember. He knows what he's teaching and he can teach it well. He is always available to help you if you need it.
This is a"weed-out" class. If you are taking this to go into grad school or something medical then you must do well. This class requires/demands A LOT of your time so plan the semester accordingly. Both Chung and Meyers are equally hard. Chung lectures on slide, Meyers on the chalkboard so depends how you learn. Can get an A if you put the time in.
Awesome professor but his tests are the worst! None of the material is actually covered in on the slides. Seems he tests on the very fine print of the textbook. Only way to do well on the tests is to be an expert yourself
Amazing professor! But I'm a Chem major and those were still the hardest test I've ever taken. He expects you to apply it all, so his questions are never just recalling info off a slide. Very funny and amazing teacher though. He offers extra points on his test so you can get a decent grade. But don't let that fool ya, just plan on studying A LOT
This was by far the hardest class I have ever taken. Anatomy is plain and simply hard! Professor Chung, is AWESOME! I had him as a lab instructor as well, and I loved it! I learned so much from him! His Lectures are pretty darn funny! Don't take a heavy class load with this class, Prepare to STUDY A LOT! Tests are tricky!
Dr. Chung is intelligent, and quite humorous in lecture. He is more than willing to explain in depth for understanding the material, as he expects you to know inside and out, flip it upside down and write it on paper several times, however he gives you the information to do it. All tests are comprehensive. Don't take with a full load. Well Worth it
Dr. Chung is a brilliant man who really knows what he is talking about. His tests are incredibly hard, so you really need to study and know the material. He helps you learn to think outside the box.
Dr. Chung is fantastic. He is very passionate and knowledgeable about Human Anatomy. The information is not inherently difficult, it is just large in volume. A lot of students claim that the class "is too hard", but I did find that the difficulty level was unfair. Have a great attitude and you will do great!
Dr. Chung is an amazing professor for Anatomy and I would recommend him! You better be prepared to spend a lot of time in open lab studying cadavers or you won't pass. Three tests total and a lab quiz every week, that's it! This class will be tough but he warns you at the beginning so make sure you are ready to put your life into this class.
Great professor. The class is very difficult as it should be. Be prepared to study and work for your grade. Dr. Chung is very accessible and always there to help you succeed. Very lecture heavy class, but Dr. Chung is a great lecturer.
At first, it was easy to use the excuse that he was a tough teacher. But I have grown to love Dr. Chung and the way that he helps you to learn the material. He teaches in a way that you apply your knowledge and really understand what is going on. In reality, you really just need to put time in and you will do well. I definitely recommend him.
Before the semester I heard that it was an awful class and so much work. But Dr. Chung was such an amazing teacher and I loved his lectures. It is a lot of work but he made the class very enjoyable and easier to learn. He also gives extra credit on the exams.
One of the best professors I've had at Weber State. There's a lot to learn in Anatomy, so the class requires a lot of work, but it's definitely doable.
My favorite teacher by far. A TON of studying so attend openlab and SIs. Tests are very heavily weighted so make sure you do your homework for lab, participate, and STUDY since they make or break you in this class!!! He is super smart and lectures can be super intense. But you really learn anatomy when you take this class. Challenging but rewarding
This class was extremely difficult. Going into it, I thought I would be able to handle it easily because I am a 4.0 student. Very quickly I realized that I needed to change how I studied or I wasn't going to pass. Drawing pictures helped me a lot. Dr. Chung is the best professor I have ever had. He is intimidating but very nice one on one.
The content is challenging and required more attention than any other course I have taken. Dr. Chung has a personality all his own and you may find it abrasive. He regularly makes comments that show his hostility towards Europeans in general.
Dr. Chung is an encyclopedia human anatomy information. He is an amazing lecturer and cares about his students. If you study, you are 100% capable of getting an A.
Make sure to write/draw out notes from powerpoints and leave spaces before the leacture. WRITE THEM OUT!!! Make GOOD study groups, practice teaching each other Connect information together and look at it in different ways Go to SI, get tutoring, and live in open lab. This class requires time!
Dr. Chung is an amazing professor. I had always heard that anatomy was nearly impossible, but I got an A my first time taking it. You HAVE to put in the time or you will not pass, but Dr. Chung give you so many resources to pass. His lectures are amazing and he explains things very clearly and he is a very fair professor.
You need to know the material inside and out (no pun intended), this class is THE REAL DEAL. He's preparing you for graduate programs not just with the content but with the material volume. He wants us to know it all, which if you are going to be a medical professional, everyone hopes you do and he knows that. He's very funny too, not all serious.
Exams reviews are nothing like the test. The textbook has different language then the medical terms he uses in class
This class was very confusing. Its annoying that he is the only human anatomy teacher at WSU. He is very smart and intelligent, but we are doing school online and that doesn't help us at all. We need a professor that is well organized and easy to understand. Human anatomy is a hard class for some people and I haven't liked his class.
You have to put the work in. I personally don' care for the way the class is set up. He doesn't give you much direction. He also has a lot of videos and just says learn it all. I had a hard time on tests because I felt overwhelmed to learn everything. The worst part is that he makes it known that he is ok with his class being so hard It's a status.
Dr. Chung is a good professor who knows the material well beyond what you need to know for class. His class is very difficult and if you aren't going to put in the time. It is probably best you don't take his class. His tests are extremely difficult and require you to really know the material. Overall a very educational, but difficult experience.
I knew this class would be difficult before taking it. I studied that much harder in this class knowing it and my efforts paid off! Online is not ideal but I know he is doing everything he can to give resources to his students... therefore posting hours upon hours of videos making me feel lost at times; attend open lab and SI to help yourself out!
This class is the hardest class I have ever taken, it is extremely lecture heavy and most of the video lectures are hours and hours long. It is so hard to stay focussed. The lab that is connected is also extremely hard and spelling of every single word counts. If you have an option to go the HTHS route I highly recommend it.
SERIOUSLY, this is the hardest class you will take. Take medical terminology before, you'll struggle without it. 4 lecture exams, 3 lab exams, weekly discussions, and about 12 (+/-) lab quizzes. This class will have real human cadavers, just so you know. Don't memorize the material, apply it. This class is worth taking but seriously, NO DAYS OFF.
This has been the hardest, most rewarding class I've taken. You're expected to know huge amount of material for each test (15-20hrs worth of lecture). Lab portion is not too hard as long as you stay on top of studying and attending open labs. Overall, 10/10, would take again.
This course is tough, its meant to be tough. Dr. Chung gives you everything you need to succeed though, you just have to do the work. Hes also hilarious and cares about his students.
Dr. Chung is BRILLIANT! This class is hard- take heed to his warnings on day 1, but dont get discouraged. You will earn the grade you get- so STUDY and GO TO OPEN LAB! DONT let a low lab exam score get into your head- just keep going! And dont give up half way through- youll end up taking it again. BTW-Dr. Chung is also hilarious!!
Chung is an amazing professor who really wants you to succeed. You have to work pretty hard for your grade but he rewards your hard work. It is a time-consuming class so be prepared to work. His exams are out of 100 points but you can get more than 100 points bc he gives extra credit.
Chung is a great professor who gets a bad wrap because the class is hard. He truly wants everyone to succeed. You dont have to get 100% on all exams because of the extra credit. If you put in the time, you will be just fine.
You are reading this bc I want to give you motivation. I'm an international student, English is not my first language, I used to feel lost in this class. In the lecture, every time I look around, it seems like ppl around me know what they are doing. I also feel bad for falling asleep in class a couple of times. But I made it, and so do you.
I LOVED Dr. Chung. Beware, this class is very difficult. You have to put in the work if you want an A. But it is doable! His lectures are amazing and he gives great stories to explain things. He his very smart and was always very accessible every time I contacted him for help. If you go in prepared to study and do the work required, you will pass.
Professor Chung's class isn't too bad, the class is hard but lectures are interesting. The lab portion is lacking, its run by is TA's who are more interested in flirting with students and joking around in the next room than helping students. I ended up swapping to the health science route after my experiences with his TA's.
The atmosphere in the lab was very unprofessional, and I could always hear a party going on in the back room. The lectures were long and detailed. I recommend taking the health sciences route if possible.
Dr. Chung is a fantastic instructor who wants you to succeed. He comes across as a bit scary when you first meet him, but he is definitely willing to teach and help you out with any questions you might have. My only complaint about this course was the very apparent toxic lab culture among the instructors. Instructors can be very loud in the back.
I was scared for this class, but it turned out fine! It was very interesting and working with the cadavers was cool! I didn't mind the instructors, and I thought it was nice to see how close they were as a group. I wish there was more of a standard for lab grading (sometimes they'd give different information). You definitely learn the material!
Dr. Chung is the best professor I have had at Weber St. He is brilliant and conveys difficult information in a clear and understandable manner. He has years of experience teaching and knows how to teach well! Expect to study for hours outside class and go to open lab as much as possible! This class is hard, but I learned something new every class!
I wish I had known this professor existed. I'd take all of my science classes from Dr.Chung if I could. I'm not a science major and so far I've found science to be dry and would put my tests off until the last minute, but not this time! He makes class lectures interesting and he's not dry at all so it's easier to absorb science information.
He constantly fearmongers by exaggerating how hard his class/exams are. When he didn't get thru all the info for an exam, he threw over 60 lecture slides at us the day before the exam opened and expected everyone to know it all, then says it's historically his hardest exam with the lowest scores, I wonder why? Just a bad professor in my opinion.
Dr. Chung is great. His class is really tough, but he gives you everything you need to succeed and really wants to see you do well. If you are engaged in open lab and SI, you should do just fine. His lectures are truly unhinged and super entertaining. He is intimidating but very kind, so don't be afraid of his classes.
I really enjoyed professor chung's class this semester. It is a lot of material and a harder class, but his lectures are really funny and entertaining. He does a great job teaching this class and making hard topics easy to understand. Very accessible outside of class. At first he seems intimidating but he wants all of us to succeed.
Dr. Chung is amazing! His class is tough, but if you put in the work you'll succeed! He offers tons of extra credit and really wants to see you do well. He is pretty intimidating at first, but is actually one of the coolest professors I've gotten to know at Weber. SI and open lab really helped me to master the material.
Dr. Chung is an amazing professor! He puts time into the lectures and wants you to succeed. This class is very hard, but if you take advantage of SI and open lab it is very doable. The class is test heavy, but Chung is fair with his grading and does offer extra credit with each exam. This is one of my favorite classes I have taken.
Dr. Chung is an amazing person and a fantastic professor. Be ready for lots of studying and lab quizzes every week.
Dr. Chung's lectures are hilarious. He makes the class fun. He gives most of the information verbally and not on the slides. If you skip class you are screwed 75% of the time. There is no recording audio or video in his class. Just keep focused! and write down notes on the slides before class! GO TO SI! Do not skip SI, it is so helpful!
The lab instructors are doing their best but a lot goes wrong. Make sure you listen in your lab and follow what your instructors say specifically. Go to open lab, go to SI. Every class for lab has a quiz and a bunch of homework due. Beware, if you miss a lab there is no making up the credit for the quiz or homework for any reason. You will get a 0.
I hate that the lab is solely run by TAs. They are okay at it, but the professor that went to school to be, you know, a professor? Should definitely be teaching this. TA's are literally assistants not teachers! Maybe it's because he's a bit too quirky anyway...
Awesome. He curves most of his exams so don't worry too much at first. You must study and study hard. If you don't, you'll fail.
Dr. Chung is a fantastic lecturer and has an incredible knowledge of anatomy. I learned more in this one course than I probably did any other course previously. While I put this class as a difficulty of 5, it is more than doable with the plethora of resources available (additional online lectures, open labs, SI, etc.). I loved this course. 10/10.
This is a tough class. It goes by really fast and in lab you have a quiz every week. Dr. Chung is good at explaining certain things but at times will go fast and you have to constantly review the material at home to really grasp the material. There will be a lot of studying but overall he is a good teacher.
I fell in love with anatomy after taking this course from Dr. Chung. He is extremely smart and so experienced in this material, learning from him was amazing! While you will need to study a lot for both lab and lecture, SI and going to open lab will help you get an A.
Dr. Chung's class is tough but engaging. His lectures are entertaining and he genuinely wants you to succeed. Attend class, use the resources like open labs and SI, and you'll do well. Unstuckstudy was also a lifesaver for study prep!
Form a study group IMMEDIATELY and study as you go. Go to SI and open lab as much as possible. Don't use to textbook for anything other than filling out your lab manual. It's a hard class but doable if you put in the effort and time. Dr Chung knows his stuff and expects his students to know it. Not a class you can be lazy in.
I will NEVER recommend his class to anyone. Be prepared to spend over 20 hours a week going to open lab and studying for the lecture exams. BUT on the lecture exams there is just about nothing you learned in actual lecture. He makes the exams SO hard because HE is smart. Lab is easier because it isn't him teaching. He is the worst. DO NOT TAKE!!!!
He is is extremely smart and he's built up an incredible anatomy program. 2100 is a difficult, time-consuming class, but it's also my favorite class I've ever taken. I became a lab instructor of his, so I've spent a lot of time with Dr. Chung. Though he comes off as intimidating, he cares so much for his students and wants them all to succeed.
