Cooper is by far my favorite teacher at Texas State. I took him 3 times and every time he has been clear and interesting. Assigned Seats and daily attendance, but it is worth it! Test comes with study guide that is very helpful.

This is my second time taking Coop for a Geo course (first was world geo) and I was a little nervous due to it being an upper level and while it was harder (not a mc test) the class was just as fun and engaging. Cooper is hilarious and answers every question asked and his lectures are engaging and makes the class fly by.

He is one of the best professors I have taken in my entire academic career. It's not really about his jokes or easiness, he truly inspires and teaches so well. His knowledge of the subject far surpassed my expectations. This is not my major and I took so much away from this course. I highly recommend him for any course he teaches.

Tests are alright and there is some outside questions on the test but just use quizlet. Just an all around great guy. My favorite professor I have had at Texas State. He takes attendance, but you'll want to go to class. His voice is so loud and ridiculous, he literally wakes me up every morning that I don't even need coffee. If you have perfect attendance at the end of the semester, he'll give you three points to your final average. He's hilarious, take him!

PLEASE TAKE!! He is probably my favorite professor, and he is hilarious. All his lectures are kind of fast pace, but he is clear on what is on the exam. 4 exams, no homework. He is pretty loud, so when you get to decide to pick your assigned seat, be aware that you ears my ring at the end of lecture if you decide to sit up front.

Class isn't hard at all, but definitely requires studying for exams. Cooper is very organized when going through lecture, and is very attentive to questions. It is a lot of information to memorized per test but as long as you study you will get a good grade in the course!

Amazing professor! Follows his syllabus. Lectures are interesting. Tests are not difficult. OHe doesn't assign anything else but tests. If you come to class everyday, 3 points added to your OVERALL average. You can tell he really is interested in the subject and he cares about his students. Exams were graded and posted 20 minutes after class.

TAKE HIM. I looked forward to this class every single time, and I don't even care for geography! He just makes it interesting. He comes off as scary in the beginning, but he warms up over the course of the semester and is actually very nice. Don't ignore the strict attendance policy though, or your grade will pay!!!!

I'm an English major, and only took his course to fill an undergraduate requirement. That said, I really enjoyed his class and, save for a few sick days, was actually excited to go to class! (even at 11AM) His classes are lecture heavy, but if you take good notes you will be fine.

The lectures don't have powerpoints (it's just pictures) so make sure you're there and listening. That being said, he makes his lectures loud, fun, and interesting.

Make SURE you go to class. His lectures are pretty much word for word what is on the test. Very easy and interesting class.

Fam--USE QUIZLET. Everything your supposed to check out from the library and answer questions on for the test is on quizlet. Just google one of the questions and it'll take you there. That helped me a lot so i'm passing it along. Take Coop. God speed.

If you can take him, do yourself a favor a do it. He has long lectures but because his personality is so funny and he incorporates that in his lectures you don't realize you just sat through an hour and twenty minute lecture. You're only graded on your four tests as of right now if he doesn't change anything so as long as you come to class and take notes in the lecture guide he asks you to buy and you answer the 30 or so questions from the book he has on reserve in the library, easy A. extra credit points just for showing up to class everyday also.

One of the best professors I've had the good luck to have. If you're the type of person who enjoys classes that test straight off of the lecture material and little else, this class is for you. There is some material not from lectures on the tests, but it's pretty easy. Would highly reccomend.

If you dont take a class with him you are missing out! 4 exams, scantron. Take lots of notes focus on the key terms on his guide and it will be an easy A (if you study your notes!). AWESOME. Very notes heavy, but extremely easy to follow for notes. He is loud and I love it. Attendance is mandatory and if you miss you are going to have a lot of problems. Cooper is an amazing Professor, his lectures are heavy but they are easy to follow. They textbook was definitely used and it will help you out with the lectures. The textbook is more of an outline to his lectures so you pretty much just fill out what he is talking about. If you don't show up to class you will be lost and will fail.

I didnt need either book at all, but if you dont have the workbook Id definitely recommend taking notes on a computer to quickly spell check stuff and insert maps or other graphics. Not a geography major or minor, so although he was funny it was still kind of boring. But best option if class is required. GroupMe and quizlet were lifesavers!

I was struggling for the beginning of the class but he told me not to worry. He talked about how several students had experienced the same grades as me on the first exam and still ended up with a A. While I thought I would fail, he never gave up on me because he believed in me more than I did and I honestly am thankful in him for that.

I loved this class and I could listen to the professor lecture all day. Missing one day of class is like missing 2-3 class days. There are only 4-5 tests in total and they are your only grades.

One of the easiest classes I have taken, he makes the history department look good at Texas State. No weekly zoom meetings.

Hack to passing Coop's World Geo class: take notes based on the key terms listed under each country in the lewbook (textbook) during lecture, do the lewbook chapter questions, take pictures of maps during class & memorize countries & landforms, study all this. It can be a lot. But I did this & I got a 95 final grade. It's not as hard as it sounds.

Coop is a MUST for EVERYONE at TXST. Someone who was born to teach and does it so well I took him two years ago and STILL feel the need to recommend him to everyone possible. Study the terms and study well you only get a few tests so mess up one and its hard to fix. Seriously though TAKE COOPS CLASS

Mr. Cooper, more likely known as Coop, was the best teacher I had freshman year. He cares deeply about his topics, and it makes you care. I found his way of teaching engaging and fun, and it saddens me to see that he is the top rated professor, as I have already had my peak teacher. Absolute legend.

He's super engaging and funny, he provides helpful reviews, and learning objectives are made clear. Only graded on 4 exams, but they aren't difficult if you've attended class and studied your reviews.

This professor makes lectures fun by adding in stories and jokes. Gives a lot of extra credit opportunities that are super easy to receive. Final grade consists of only exams, so be prepared to study but the questions aren't anything surprising. If you study well, you will score well. You will never have homework in this class.

Professor Brain Cooper is just simply amazing !! He is filled with so much knowledge and life experience. His lectures are awesome and he had all of us laughing . If you take notes and pay attention in class, Tests are a breeze. He even offers extra credit . If you need an elective or Core credit of some sort. Take Cooper. You will not regret it.

He only grades off of 4 exam grades but don't be itimidated, he always gave us an extra 10 points on every exam and the final is not comprehensive!!! His lectures go in order of the guidebooks, so I would have it handy when taking notes for spelling and what is relevant during his lecture. Fantastic Professor. Lectures are very important as his lecture material is completely different from the textbook material but Professor Cooper makes his lectures worth your time being very accessible and interesting. even if you aren't a Geography major, I 100% recommend him.

he is AMAZING. makes getting up early for a 9:30 class worth it, his lectures are engaging, there is no homework, only tests. as long as you show up to class and do good notes (which isn't hard to do really) then you will get a good grade. absolute king

No assignments, only exams. All information comes from the textbook and lectures theres no powerpoints or anything on canvas. I had a 9:30am class but hes really funny so it wasn't horrible.

This professor is undoubtedly among the finest I've encountered at Texas State University. He balanced brevity with humor, keeping the class lively and engaged. He greeted us with a spirited "good morning folks, how are we doing todaaaay?" His tests are alot of information but no homework which makes this class less stressful.

I loved having him! Attendance is mandatory, and you have 5 absences, then he deducts points from your grade, if you go to every lecture, you get 5 bonus points on overall grade. He also gives 10 points extra credit on almost every test. Pay attention in lectures and if he repeats something, write it and study it because it will be on the test.

This is the second class I have taken with cooper and I love his class so much! He gives four exams with clear study guides that will be word for word in the exams, all are posted on quizlet. He gives five extra credit points on every exam and then doubles it for the final. If you show up to class everyday you get five points added to your average

Professor Cooper is a gem - his lectures are engaging and he really cares about students' learning. The class is exam-focused, but unstuckstudy ai was a lifesaver for study prep. Definitely take this class if you can!

I loved coop. You can tell he loves teaching and wants you to be engaged. Main piece of advice is just to go to class and pay attention. He'll get on you if you're on your phone or have earbuds in but besides that he's very reasonable and understanding. He'll give extra points on exams if you know Van Halen triva lol.

Great professor! Exams are exactly like the notes, and his notes are written out for you. You just need to pay attention to lecture. There is a quiz from each unit, but you should get a 100 if you do the reading first. He is super funny and very energetic, definitely makes the class a lot of fun

Yes he does grade attendance. Class is SUPER easy if you attend class and take notes. Exams are 50 questions and gives 10 extra credit points to every exam. Be aware, he WILL call you out if you are on your phone or have earbuds in while he is talking.

I LOVED this course. As long as you study the notes that on the lecture note taking slides there is no reason you shouldn't get an A. He is the funniest professor I have had and his humor makes it an enjoyable lecture to sit through.

Attendance matters so go to class, the final is not cumulative just based off the last unit. All exams are based off lecture and everything he says in class is on the exam. Overall the exams are easy if you have all the notes, you will have to memorize locations. He gives 10 bonus points every exam it's hard to fail the class if you go.

One of the best professors I have taken at TXST, ended off with a 103 in the class. He gives a lot of extra credit opportunities, and if you just go to class and write down the notes you can easily get a A in this class.

Cooper is an amazing professor! Made a boring subject really interesting and made lectures super engaging. Tests are over lecture material/notes and homework quizzes are from the textbook. He gives like 10 extra bonus points each test so that's awesome, highly recommend!!

Though i would hate this class but it turned into my favorites. He bases your grade off of 4 multiple choice tests and a few quizzes. The only extra credit he gave was asked before the exam, most of the time 5-10pts for the whole class. Use the slides he gives to follow along in class and take notes on extra info. If you study that you'll do well

He was an incredibly fun professor, very helpful. The only thing is that if you miss a lecture, you'll miss basically all the information needed for exams.

I took Coop last semester, and he was THE BEST professor I've ever taken. Although attendance was mandatory, he gives extra credit if you do not mis a single class (5 average bonus points)! He also gives extra credit in exams. He is very funny, but I will say that you need to study cause there is a lot of information to take in. Easy A for sure.

This was by far my favorite class and professor. The class is as easy as long as you try. Attendance is mandatory but you will be rewarded through credit points if you have perfect attendance. The tests aren't the easiest but as long as you study you will do great! Cooper is incredibly funny and don't get caught on your phone!!

Great guy, really passionate about his lectures. Graded by exams, but as long as you do the study guide, you should be ok, as it's basically exactly like the lectures and the exam. Be ready to write and lock in.

I LOVE COOP!!! His lectures are very interesting even if you aren't a geo major. Attendance is a grade and very necessary to do well on tests bc he doesn't post notes. Test questions are pulled right from lecture and are very easy. No extra credit but he gives up to 10 points bonus on tests for correctly filling out scantrons. Fav professor at TXST

Professor Cooper is a good professor as long as you pay attention in class. DO NOT get on your phone during lecture he WILL call you out. No traditional test review but test questions are straight from your notes so STUDY. Gives you extra points on test day if someone answers a question he asked and if you follow directions with the scantron.

Amazing professor. The exams are exactly what he teaches so studying is definitely needed but he gives all the information needed.

Attend class and take down notes and you will be okay on the tests, tests are based on those lectures/notes. He has 4 quizzes that require the book he assigns, but that is easy and he gives two attempts for the highest grade. Very passionate and knows what he's talking about!

You'll get a 130/100 for the attendance grade if you attend all his classes without a single absence. He's a funny professor and loves his job of teaching. He is strict regarding headphones and will call you out about them, so beware of that. Overall, this is an excellent class if you need easy credit.

Coop is an absolutely amazing professor, although attendance is required he will give extra points if you attend every lecture. His lectures are very educational, funny, and just in general a good time. He will often give extra points on his exams just for the whole class listening to directions. 100% take him if you get the chance!

I have taken Cooper for the third time and if I could I would take more of his courses. His class is super easy and the content is so cool! Only four exams but the study guide is word for word the exam. Lots of extra credit, five points added to each exam and then ten on the final. If you show up everyday you get +5 to your overall grade. Love him!

A very great and engaging professor, honestly, one of the best ones since I've been here. You will pass all of the exams (which are the only grades besides attendance, which you get extra credit for attending every class) as long as you know the answers to the study guide and actually study. Hardest exam is the first one and its about Texas maps...

My favorite class this semester, Dr. Cooper was an amazing professor; You can tell he wants everyone to have a good grade and keeps the lectures engaging and fun. Missing class will affect your grade, and disrespectful behavior is not tolerated. If you go to class and study the material, you can easily make an A. Take this class!!

As long as you take notes and review them often you will pass the tests, super easy, and gives a lot of extra credit.

Professor Cooper is great! His lectures are always engaging, and you can tell he enjoys teaching. Tests are easy if you take consistent notes in class (which are already easily formatted for you) and study them. He also offers extra credit on test days in engaging ways, and he is, overall, a great professor. He's very funny, too.

His lectures are easy to follow and gives you note taking slides where you can answer throughout then study those and youll pass. Coop is the best professor I have ever had. His class is very lecture heavy and attendance is 100% mandatory, but he makes it worth it. If you have perfect attendance the whole semester you will receive an extra 5 points to your grade at the end. It is important that you actually go to class. He knows everyone by name and is the sweetest man EVER.

He truly knows how to lecture. On top of that he is also hilarious and easy to pay attention to. Good to know the class is ONLY lectures and you are only graded on exams and quizzes. HOWEVER he gives out a phenomenal incentive for perfect attendance. So sad I won't be able to take another of his classes, but you TOTALLY should!

Literally the best professor I've had. The whole course was graded off 4 tests and 4 quizzes. Quizzes are online open note and tests are 50 questions. He gives 10 extra credit points for every exam and on the final he gave 16 extra credit points. If you go to lectures everyday you get 5 extra credit points on your final grade.
