Dr. Butler's lectures were too theoretical at times but this was personal preference (I preferred Dr. Browse's material). Difficulty was quite high for a 1st year class (>25% of class failed). Attendance isn't mandatory but you need to go if you want a decent grade. Also little textbook use. A challenging but interesting course - take it seriously.

I thought Dr. Butler was a great professor. I loved the computer science material Dr. Browse presented the most, but Dr. Butler was a more engaging speaker. I think his material was needed for those who might not have a computer science background, since allot of student are not in computing. He also doesn't have office hours, so keep that in mind.
