He is the best wellness professor there is, highly recommend his class, he is full of energy and life and draws you into his lessons of wellness which are amazing and life-changing, if you get the chance to take him, take him!

For having to teach at 8:00 he is extremely enthusiastic and fun. He has pretty funny powerpoints and A LOT of what he says -really- has relevance in life. If you listen carefully, you might pick up on some very useful ways to look at life. He has some wisdom and life lessons to offer.

Fennig is the best wellness teacher! His class is so chill, you only have to go and he will entertain you!! He makes it as fun as it's going to be (which is surprisingly pretty good!)

He's really great and funny. I couldnt imagine taking wellness with anyone else. if you miss a certain number of days, you automatically fail, but he's really flexible for illness and family emergencies. you have to write 4 1 pg papers... but he doesnt even care if you turn them in on time. he'd rather you do them well than fake it. excellent prof!

Great guy to be around! always positive! i learned a lot about life from him, even if i don't agree with some of what is taught. We would see each other in la Madeline, and i was always greeted with a smile and a conversation. Good man, good teacher. take him if you really want to get something out of your wellness class

He really takes an interest in his class. He has a passion for what he does, and it really comes out during class. He will keep you interested and engaged while giving you some great tips that are life-lasting! Fenning is a really friendly guy, and you'll enjoy his class.

He's chill. Everybody passes. Other teachers are easier. I thought it was going to be the most stupid class ever. I actually learned some stuff though.

Really chill guy. Didn't assign anything extra other than what the PRW course requires. I walked in late pretty often but he never made a big deal about it. He is passionate in what he is trying to teach students and makes the class interesting.

In the classroom, he's the best. As the year progresses, you will learn that he is a total enigma outside of his work. PRW is kind of a pointless class, and I think he knows it. He always has this grin on his face like he knows he's just wasting your time...

Professor Fennig is seriously the best. That's basically the entire story. TAKE HIM. (But don't buy the book, that's my only regret. Seriously, don't.)

Bottom line: Show up and pass. You have 3-4 one page assignments a semester as well as one: Personal Identity project which takes a total of 10 minutes to do. He is very relaxed and friendly. Probably the most relaxed and chill of all the PRW 1101 professors. Definitely recommend.

Its a boring class to be sure but its easy and he really enjoys what he does as far as PRW classes go its pretty good.

Harris is such a good teacher and really wants to help you learn. Its a shame most PRW students don't take the class seriously enough for him to help them. He is entertaining and funny and makes every class interesting, you can't go wrong with him! Highly recommend.

PRW is just one of those classes everyone has to go through. Fennig made the class actually enjoyable. I love participating in the class. He makes everything more fun and relaxed. He even showed me how to sell things on Craigslist.

Dr. Fennig really deserves the 5.0 rating. He makes it a point to know all of his students by name and responds thoughtfully and genuinely to your OCEs. A very genuinely nice guy who always show up energetic and passionate about what we are learning. Tells personal stories and creates a great environment to give opinions and open up. Really loves teaching and makes PRW more than bearable.

Dr. Fennig is passionate about the topic and creates a fun environment that promotes interactive discussion. Not a class to sit back passively, you need to participate and do the reading. But the reading is not difficult. He provides clear and personal feedback on the weekly journal entries.

If you have the chance to take him you should. All you need to do is show up and he makes the class enjoyable and really cares about he does. It is only 3 one page papers that get graded and you either pass or fail them no letter grade. Great class would highly recommend for a PRW teacher.

Dr. Fennig is a very funny, super engaging, and a great guy all around. In his PRW class, expect two or three one-page reflection papers on an out-of-class experience that brought you out of your comfort zone and one presentation about yourself. Cheap financial planning textbook required, but I didn't buy it. This is a pass/fail class.

Dr. Fennig is the best!!! He is super chill, funny, and cares about his job. We had a couple guided meditations, only 3 one page papers, and he always brings real people in the field into the lectures. I wish I could take PRW every year, its such a nice class to go to. TAKE HIM!!!

Dr. Fennig is by far one of my favorite professors. He is extremely engaging and really cares about each of the students in his class. I was not excited to take PRW and I am still not a huge fan of the class considering you get 1 credit hour for 3 hours worth of class, but he made it as best as it could be.

Pass/fail class. Just do not be absent. There are 4 papers overall - only 1-page double-spaced each. Forget about grammar, just write something interesting, and he will give you the point.

Fennig is a great prof. He encourages discussion during class time about the topics (though your mileage may vary) and for everyone to be respectful. As for the class, you can see PRW as a second WRTR. The course is reading and essay heavy.

Easiest class you will ever take. There are readings, but you don't have to actually read them to do well as long as you show up to class. A couple essays and assignments, all of which are graded really generously. Fennig is really nice and super easy to talk to, but the structure of the class makes it a bit of a waste of time.

Dr. Fennig is a great person and fantastic professor. There are readings every class but participation is the most important thing in his class. If you have to take PRW I would definitely recommend Dr. Fennig. There are a few papers and a presentation but nothing too stressful.

There are 3 essays and services longs we have to do, but as long as you don't do the minimum, he will give >= B+. Prof. is great, HSP's course design is inefficient.

I don't know why there are three recent bad reviews because this professor is great. I took the personal responsibility and community class and learned a lot about myself and the world. My confidence and self love and happiness went up through this course and professor. He is kind, respectful, a great teacher, funny, and open minded.

Brian is the most genuine and caring professor at SMU. He is humble and cares about the community. He is a good man, funny, and a good professor. Anyone complaining about him didn't go to class or do their work. You could take this class with closed eyes and still get an A. SMU is lucky to have him.

Dr. Fennig is the absolute goat. Had him for HSP UNIV 3303 and he is an amazing teacher/educator. He's forgiving as long as you're on top of your stuff. Created a great classroom environment and always made class fun and engaging. Would take again.
