a perfect teacher

Brian is a great teacher! He is a practicing lawyer and only a part-time teacher yet he is doing an amazing job. 3 midterms and a final. He is a hard marker and wants specifac detail. Either right or wrong. Great teacher.

Great teacher he does his very best to help on any questions you might have. Lectures are long but informative and his examples are very similar to the exam. Gives practice q's before the exam to help study and also gives easy hw q's daily pass or fail depending on the effort put in to make sure class is understanding (easy marks) Totally recommend

The greatest teacher I had at Douglas. VERY HELPFUL, VERY KIND AND KNOWLEDGEABLE. Wants to ensure he helps everybody as much as he can. It doesn't mean a course will be super easy, but it's Law. In his class, even if you get a lower-than-expected grade, you will not be disappointed with an instructor.

One of the best teachers I have ever had. He keeps it simple and relate able, would recommend this course to anyone. It is a hard course, but if you work hard you'll get a good grade.

He is an awesome prof. He makes connections with things that are happening around you right now, which keeps you interested. He's funny and very helpful. His class is a hard one because it's only based on 4 marks, but if you keep up you'll do fine. I look forward to his class every week!

Best professor I have ever had at Douglas. He's very approachable and helpful if you go to see him during his office hours. He knows his stuff. You'd think that a busn law class would be pretty dull, but he makes it interesting. The tests are tricky but he's a fair marker. Fixter is employed as a lawyer outside of Douglas and he KNOWS how to teach his subject. He is engaging in his lectures, provides clear examples, and is concerned with student understanding. Exams are straight forward and homework is limited. I am genuinely sad that I'm almost finished this course. YOU NEED TO TAKE BUSN 1320 WITH HIM!

This teacher is by far the best teacher i had ever had at Douglas college, he is so nice, so approachable, and so funny. It just sucks he has to teach such a boring and hard class. Take him if you have to take law.

Brian is a great professor and is very clear and concise with what he wants. Class average for the tests were 51, 55 and 63, so Law 1 is a hard class anyway. I got an 86, 80 and 90 on his tests so just study the notes, and read the book. Class isn't hard if you try.

Great instructor, hard class. I would be disappointed if he changed his teaching style just so his class can get better grades - it's not his fault, it's ours. Averages are very low for Law 1, not because of how hard the teacher is, but because the class itself is difficult. READ THE TEXTBOOK! Don't over rely on powerpoint notes.

Brain Fixter is the right man for teaching a hard class like Business law. His lectures are very clear and makes the class very interesting. However, his exams are long and difficult so you really need to study hard. Tests avergaes are low but that's not his fault it's because business law is a really difficult course

Provides relevant examples to the topic at hand. His lectures as stated before are clear and easy to follow most of the time unless it's a difficult chapter. Attendance is a must if you want to get the most out of him. Took it a long time ago but now I'm loving law. Threatening to sue your friends for defamation is fun!

Brian is so brilliant! I just had to come on here and write about him because even a year later I refer back to his old powerpoints and notes. Super experienced. Turns a hard class interesting. If this class is needed, he's your guy!

Hard class, great teacher. I sincerely wish he taught Law 2 because his lectures were spot on easy to follow. Gonna miss him. He gives recent examples and applies them to what we're learning so it's easier to follow along.

He makes law easy to digest, and if you put in the work, you'll do fine. I highly recommend you take his class even if you don't need to. You'll learn so much and it'll be so worth it.

Best teacher I've had so far!

Brian is one of those teachers I love. He is funny, there to teach, wants to teach, wants you to not only learn, but to also understand the material. This was my first real class for college and I would gladly take the second course if he were to teach it. If you have thr option for him to teach you, take it.

In my opinion " Shielded myself from defamation" Brian was a great teacher. His lectures are very entertaining, one wouldn't be able to fall asleep during his lectures. His powerpoints that he made are very useful! You don't really need to open your textbook. I would definitely take his course again. Thanks for being a great teacher Brian :)

Brian is a very good instructor. With a sense of humour and great communication with his students about the topics at hand. Very clear and has excellent slide packages for lectures. He makes you want to participate!

Since he's a lawyer he's very knowledgeable and knows what he's teaching. I actually looked forward to his classes because his lectures are intriguing, funny and he gives great examples to make the concepts easier to understand. He's the best instructor I've had so far!

Brian is a hilarous and extremely helpful professor who loves Justin Bieber, but won't admit it. He loves being asked difficult questions, and you can tell he loves teaching the law. He's a good guy prof. Easy extra 5% for passfail homework assignments, and exams are easy if you listen in class and ask questions. Would DEFINITELY take him again!

THE best professor I have ever had at Douglas College. Just ensure you follow his guidelines during exams and you'll do great. I wouldn't skip his lectures because he turns a bunch of content that could be easily dry and difficult to understand into content that is understandable and interesting. One of the few class I genuinely looked forward to.

In my opinion, Brian Fixter is the Michael Jordan of teaching. Best teacher ever. This course is not easy, but if you take it with Brian, you'll get the benefit of great lectures & understanding hard concepts. Study and go to class, you'll be fine. Not a class you can pass if you slack off. If you like the show "Suits", you'll love this class!

Brian is the best law teacher there is! He gives ppt lectures ahead of time before class, loves to answer questions and highly encourages people to come talk to him about any concerns. He gives 2 breaks for 3 hrs long classes. For you to pass, you HAVE to come to class. textbooks not needed, everything is outlined in his notes. TAKE HIM!

Listen up. If you're considering a class with Brian, DO IT. He's phenomenal. This class is tough, since it's a 4th year class, but he makes it really fun and interesting. There's a couple of big projects, but there's no final, so that's a plus. Brian is really passionate, and actually has experience as a lawyer. Plus he's young and cute. :)

Brian is a fantastic teacher. He posts his lecture packages for the entire semester so its easy to print them and follow along. The concepts are very clear and he explains each term in detail. Ask questions he loves it. If you aren't understanding anything he has office hours, and he responds to emails and provides amazing support and feedback.

Thought Brian was amazing but then I learned he cheers for the Leafs, haha jokes! Brian is an amazing prof, he posts all his lecture slides so if you miss something in class you can go back. He loves when you asks questions and will never embarrass you with for a "stupid question" as he will always try to relate it to the lecture. He really cares!

Definitely the most inspiring teacher I've had at Douglas. The more you actively participate in class the better chance you have of a good grade. Don't skip class and make sure to thoroughly read his powerpoints and you will be alright. Business Law is a tough class, don't expect to get by without studying.

He's amazing at grabbing your attention, as someone who finds it hard to stay attentive for hours Brian sure has ways of getting to you! Love this course! Brian is the best prof that I've ever had at Douglas. The class hour is long but he made us feel it's short. Need to take a lot of notes and focus on every word he explained. The textbook is unnecessary to read, only useful to finish the assignments. Tests and grading are fair enough, the contents are all covered in the class.

The best prof I've had at Douglas. He makes his lectures very interesting and relates it to things in the media to help drive points home. On top of that all his lectures are available online so you can print them before class and just ex out slides he doesn't use and focus on what he has to say. Highly recommend him!

His lectures are crystal clear, you can learn a lot in class if you pay attention and ask questions. Didn't withdraw because you can learn a lot from his lectures. His exams are very difficult with inadequate amount of time to finish, but they are fair if you studied. Business law is a very difficult course but Brian did his best to lecture it.

This instructor is the best! I would never have thought of loving law, but his lectures are amazing and you could listen to him for hours without noticing time. Yes, you do have to work hard in his class, but I highly recommend taking his class. He talks very clear and gives awesome examples to make sure everything makes sense to students.

Brian made of the hardest classes in business an overall enjoyable experience. The class is still difficult, but his lectures and slides make it really easy to understand the concepts. His lectures incorporate real scenarios and really help you understand the course. Great overall great professor and funny too. If you can, take the class with him.

I took this course in my first semester (English is not my 1st language) but still enjoy the class. You'll miss a lot if skip class, especially those reviews sessions before exams.

An amazing professor. He takes what could be a very boring subject and makes it understandable and engaging. He is hilarious and takes his time in his explanations. If you have the chance to take his classes, even as an elective, I would do it in a heartbeat

The BEST professor I have ever had. His lectures are interesting and engaging, it made a 2 hour class feel short. He is knowledgeable and extremely passionate about his subject. It is exam heavy but the exams are fair and match the content that was learned. I would take his class again if I could.

After I had Brian as a professor, I fell in love with law and am considering changing my major. He is so engaging and passionate about the subject! It really makes you feel the same way. Brian is honestly the best professor I've ever had; you won't regret taking his class.

This was one of my favourite classes to take and Brian made the class interesting and useful. Incorporated a lot of real life cases into teaching and small group discussions to discuss legal issues. You have to know specific sections of the law to do well on exams. It was easy to remember the law but not where exactly it was found.

He's an actual Lawyer so any questions you have about the law are always good to ask. Textbooks are pretty unnecessary if you pay attention in class and review his slide packages. Notes are minimal. You can tell he really cares for the subject and makes it interesting to listen to. If you have to get the credit, he is your guy.

He's the greatest prof I've ever had. I took him in my last semester and I low-key wish I wasn't grading yet as I'd love to take more of his classes. He is one of the best professor i've ever had at Douglas. He is a lawyer so can provide you real life knowlegde, super hilarious, very clear on grading criteria. He made all complicated concepts become easy. I took another professor with this course and end up failed that semester, but I gained A- on Brian's course.

I love this guy. He is my favourite teacher I've ever had. His lectures cover EXACTLY what will be on the tests. He is a fair marker. You get what you put into the class. I didn't use the textbook for either of his classes. He tests on the lectures, but does have quizzes based on the text. I can't recommend him enough.

He is a real gem. I really like his lectures and he will test you on what he taught. but he puts a lot of pressure on students. and there is a lot of memorization in his class. he finishes the whole 50 pages lecture in 1 day. but he teaches it in a way which makes it easy for you to study.

Brian is an amazing instructor, this is me giving feedback a year after taking in because I am in another law class and I just realized that Brian did a good job in helping me understand the concepts of law. Its crazy how I still remember Torts now and it is all because of Brian's examples and teaching style. Take him, you won't regret it.

I did make the right choice in taking Brian Fixter's Intro to Business Law. I like how he uses real-life cases near the end of each class to understand more of the topic. I would take his class again. And you should take him. You will not regret it at all.

Brian is a passionate, experienced and intelligent professor. I've taken him for intro to BLAW and Employment Law, and he's the best. Implements real stories/cases which makes material interesting. Business law is not easy though, so pay attention in class as you learn majority of the material during his lectures. Cannot recommend him enough!

Though he does not track attendance the material in his lectures and handouts are a must-have for a good test result. One of the best instructors I ever had. His lectures are amazing. Was a pleasure to be in his class. It's extremely important to take notes of the cases he talks about in classes. For instance, X person vs BC, about xxx. All the cases mentioned, are part of the exams. In study guides, you should include the Sections of the Codes or Acts.

Grades are based all based on exams.This class is so chill. Exams are mostly MC and 2 cases. Get ready to rack ur brain to understand the laws.

Employment law is hard course, but this professor makes it so much better and clear by the way he teaches. The classes are hard but he makes everything sound so interesting that it's almost easy to stay awake and listen. He is very kind and organized, I would definitely take his class again.

Great clear lectures and slides, the handouts he gives out makes it easy to review stuff week by week. But if you skip you won't get them. Loud and clear voice and is really understanding.
