Don't take his class!
Worst instructor of my 4 yr. college career! Don't take any of his classes; you are wasting your time.

he is a very hard prof. if there is another option for this class...take them...dont waste your time with Gnauck.

Horrible experience with this guy---take another prof if you can, dont take him! (Shot Point)

Bad bad teacher He should blow his brains out
He contridicts himself on a daily basis, and is out of touch with today's genration. When you ask for help he will say somethng to get you to go away rather than help you. Avoid this prof if at all possible.

Like everyone else I agree his is one of the hardest professors but if you do well in the class it gives you an extreme feeling of satisfaction because he is so hard.
He really gives you no help at all, and if you go in for help, you'll only come out angry and confused.
He is a hard teacher to please. He says he gave specific instructions earlier in the class but didnt really. He doesnt try to comprimize, at all. He doesnt really be helpful at all.
This guy is a terrible professor and I would never take another class with him. I would transfer before I had to. He always gave back negative feedback and I really think he enjoyed it. This is a three credit class and he tought it like it was worth 15
Very intelligent, but treated students with NO respect. With Dr. Gnauck there is no right answer.
Gnauck gives only two tests the entire semester. Both of which are impossible to finish. He also puts way too much emphasis on class participation. 25% of the grade is participation, yet he makes it very hard to actually participate.
Don't take this class with this professor! He likes to get up early, like at 8am and that is too early for me. I was forced into taking this course and it was a big mistake. A lot of reading that is hard to keep up with.

THe worst
I could not believe that I ended up with this guy. I took an entry level marketing class and I felt like it was a graduate level class. Poor instructionl, very boring and monotone. STAY AWAY!!!!!
this guy sucks..i took a 1 credit class with him and i think i did more work in there than i would for two 4 credit classes combined!! dont take him!
This is the hardest business class in the management division. Gnauck makes it that way. I've been avoiding him because of his horror-story reputation, but unfortunately this is my last semester with no choice. If at all possible STAY AWAY FROM GNAUCK.
i wanted to die
DONT EVER TAKE THIS GUY. I am a construction management major which requires me to take mgt 240. This is an entry level class and I feel like it should be for grad students. You even have to wear a suit for your group presentation.
Don't do it
so hard, only guy that teaches some classes so theres no way around him, i suggest you pay attention in every class and do exactly what he says and you might get a C

The material is tedious and there is ALOT of it...the two tests are crazy hard, the project is worth 25% of your total grade and it takes SO much work.
Class participation counts for a lot of your grade. You can sit in the front row and yell out all of the answers to his questions, but if he calls on you and you don't know the answer, F for you. Once you have an F in class participation, it's over.
a**hole!!
Sometimes a challenging professor is nice to push you and see whether you give up. Don't take him if you have a lot of other harder courses but since everyone thinks he's hard - push yourself because you can get an A, there was four in my class and I managed the A- while never reading one chapter
hate him. boring as heck, gives all essay tests and stupid group projects and other homework assignments. i learned tons more in my high school marketing class. might be better if stick up his @ss was removed.
Gnauck is not for everyone. He is VERY intelligent. When he asks a question he is looking for a specific answer. 210 is easy. Piece of cake. Do take. 436 is harder-but required. Two presentations=70% of your grade. Take seriously. You are given adequate time to work on those-use it.
Old School
He is the only Prof. that teaches this class and I feel that it is unfair for one professor to hold power of graduation in one mans hands. There are ways to graduate without taking him I would suggest looking into it.
He is a very organized person, but he is really old fashioned. Really hard exams, all essays. His group project is not very affective. If you get him be prepared to work and make sure you go to class.
DO NOT TAKE HIM! Very hard class to get a good grade in. Gnauk is big on long, boring lectures. He's extremely strict on grading. He teaches the class as if his students are ALREADY expert marketers! If we were, we wouldn't be taking an intro class! If you can take a mkt class w/out him, DO IT.
This class is very challenging, but also rewarding. I have never pushed myself so hard or done so much work outside of class. He has high expectations for his students, but is very fair. This was the best class I have ever taken at this university. I gained the most knowledgeg from it.
i dropped it, i wanted to die. he is horrible.
This guy will make you excel in every way. His professional ability to help you learn even the hardest concepts is remarkable. This is a required class for the college of business. Take it only when you are up for a challenge. I was an average student but
He really isnt that hard. Just memorize the learning objectives in all the chapters, and never miss class. You dont even need to read them. Dont miss class, he's big on attendence. Dress up for group projects.
I hated his class. his exam was huge and hard and his lectures were sooooo long.
Boring
I have no clue how I'm going to pass this test. This class seemed interesting at first, think that I would learn the aspects of running a business. Problem is, he's too overwhelming. This class alone makes me think twice about having a business major. I wish I would've known sooner to switch to a different prof. I just don't want to repeat it!
This guy is a true ****. He has a major ego problem and will do what ever it takes to make you wrong and himself right. This class was intended to be a 200 level into class and he made it the worst class i have taken yet. Avoid taking him if you can!
Very difficult, taught beginning class at 300 level. Unfair, highest paid professor on campus, rude, we had a group assignment and my group members dropped class and he wouldn't let me join another group so I did project myself and flunked, ended up switching majors after taking his intro class b/c he taught all the core business classes. ****!!
Gnauck is a jerk in the classroom. He acts very professional, but teaches his entry level classes the same way as his higher levels. He looks like Kramer from Seinfeld. Jumpy.
Gnauck was once the anti-crist to me... but that was for an intro class and I was young. Now I take school a bit more serious and feel that the only reason people make him out to be so bad is because Northern is fully of hippies, slackers, and dullards. Any other acedemic oriented school would appreciate the learning taking place in his classes.
Gnauck is very hard, but he is a great professor. I learned alot from his classes. He is the best professor at the college of business. Pay attention and work hard in his class and you will do just fine.
Brian Gnauck is a great professor. He is very helpful when it comes to one-on-one learning and his group case presentations are very helpful in gaining public speaking confidence. This class made me realize what I was capable of accomplishing. Even though there was alot of busy work outside of class, i have never leaned more in any other class.
Gnauk expects a lot out of everyone. I am a better person all around from taking this class. It is a TON of busy work outside of class with the presentations, but you learn teamwork, as well as confidence in public speaking. He makes you go beyond what is generally expected in a class. I have never worked so hard for a "B" but it was well worth it.
He is a very hard prof. His test are extremely hard and he grades extremely hard. I would recomend avoiding him if you can. If you do take his class go to every class and not only pay attention but participate. Also you will need to study alot for his tests.
This is a great class that makes you work. This professor teaches you alot! You will come out of the class much more prepared for the business world. Anyone who gives this professor a bad rating is just plain lazy.
I had him for a course that is required in my minor, and yeah he is one tough son of a gun. He does; however, teaches you alot of theories and practices in mgt and business. An old-fashioned prof with when I had him only 2exams (midterm/final). The exams are comprehensive and should be spaced out, but he curved us in the end and I got a great grade

Not your friend wants to educate you. Separates men from the boys, it’s that simple. If you aren’t working hard you aren’t learning, drop out or take a Miller class if wall-mart is in your future. He's intelligent, you’re not yet. Show up, get a pencil, you’re about to get schooled Trump style. Prepares your mgt skills as good as anyone anywhere.
He tried to fail me because of attendence, but got me mixed up with someone else, and then wouldn't except that he made a mistake so I had to talk to the dean to fix it, and he bribed the dean so that I didn't win. I had to go to severl people to get it fixed because he was bribing everyone to prove me wrong, he won't even look at me now.
hahahaha good luck buddy. have fun with this guy, youre not going to pass without the IQ of of genius. we had four or five total grades and i couldnt get a passing grade on any of them. BTW participate or its over for you.
Dr. Gnauck is the perfect example of someone who is institutionalized. He knows nothing of the business world other than what he's learned in textbooks and from the media. His only real world experience outside of school is blowing Gordon Lightfoot inside a small, latern-lit, canvas tent on the banks of the Hudson River.
I took this class because it is required for my major. I wish I had read these comments before it was too late to switch into a different class. Outdated, out of touch and antiquated. Completely unhelpful. Grades completely on what he feels is a complete answer, doesn't give partial credit. Refuses to change a grade if you appeal to him. Run away.
Unless ur dedicated to school and working hard this class is extremely hard! I put in maybe 3/4 effort and walked out with a C
Honest Straight forward professor. Take good notes, attend class regularly, PARTICIPATE, and be prepared to work ALOT. Hardest 200 level class taken. All essay question tests, no credit for partial answers. Need to put a lot of time to succeed in his courses.
He knows his stuff but he grades unbelievably hard. He doesn't cut anyone breaks on grades. He will take huge chunks off your grade for miniscule things. If you're not willing to work your ass of prepare for a low grade or drop it with a 'W'
I'm all about being challenged & working hard, but Dr. Gnauk's expectations are highly out of touch. Saying his tests are ridiculous is an understantment-unless you have flawless photographic memory. Dr. Gnauk's knowledge about business is out of date & narrow minded. I feel that I did not gain the knowledge that I should've from this class.
Dr. Gnauck is an okay guy, but I would have taken another professor if I could. The major problem I had: he's vague when giving instructions, and marks you down when you don't include what he "wanted". He grades hard, and expects a lot from his students. Partipation and attendence is a major part of class and will be included in exam grades.
He seems like a really cool guy if you met him outside of class, however he expects FAR too much for an introduction class. Tests are very hard (14 pages of essays normally), and he actually deducts points from your attendance score if you participate in class, but get the wrong answer. Ask for advice about anything, and he'll shrug you off.
Strategic thinking is about foreseeing and reasoning in order to make effective and efficient decisions. With this teacher you are expected to read av.40 pages per week, learn by heart, and (re)write with speed with perfect English during the exam. Without a sense. The team work was a misunderstanding and no help from the teacher about this issue.
He is a good teacher but is very difficult. Gives only essay question tests. He grades them very harshly if one does not have the answer exactly how he expects it. He also like to give minimal instructions on papers and other assignments. He also grades these harshly. Avoid unless you crave a challenging class.
AWFUL, AWFUL, AWFUL... worst prof I have ever had in my entire college career. RUN!
The worst professor in College history. Expects way too much and his tests are essay and if you don't have the EXACT answer he wants it is wrong. Very vague on instructions and expects you to not have a job so you can do lots of out of class group work. If you can choose another one do it, if not you are SCREWED. Quit job and drop other classes.
Very difficult class, but it should be as the crowning class of the College of Business. Go every day, take good notes. He is also very helpful when you go to his office. He will also read your paper in advance, use him. He helped my group a lot.
I believe this is a very helpful class. Professor Gnauck is very precise on what he wants for answers which can disuade you in the beginning but you have enough time to adapt to what he wants to survive in the class. The semester project takes a lot of work but really can help your grade. I recommend this class and this professor.
Horrible
Professor Gnauck is very intelligent and truly wants his students to succeed. Do not listen to negative comments, he is difficult but hey, ITS COLLEGE !!! Yes the course is hard but it is a 400 level and he is SO willing to help !!! If people don't like him it is because they were not willing to put in the work. Favorite professor !
Alright, Dr. Gnauck's courses are by no means easy, but what he does is provide people with the skills to think critically. This is the only class I use on a day to day basis as an entrepreneur. Phenomenal person, always willing to help, but nothing comes easy from this guy. Think outside the box and gain crisis mgt.
Dr. Gnuack is the best College of Business professor I have ever had. His class requires a lot of work and he has high expectations, but he is willing to help during officer hours. If you put the time and effort in, you will do fine and learn a ton. Don't believe the horror stories about this man! Gnauck sets you up for success in the real world
Dr. Gnauck is difficult but if you put the time in you will be fine. Go to his office hours if you need help, he is very helpful if you ask him. Dr. Gnauck is the best professor I have had in the college if business. The class is difficult, just put the time in and you'll be fine!
Gnauck is the most challenging professor I've had but also one of the best. MGT 240 weeds out the faint of heart and requires a lot of studying. You get out what you put into it. Hard as hell, but you'll learn a lot and he's really helpful.
I am a math major who took the class in my last semester because I thought it would be interesting, easy, that was a mistake. The class was harder then most of my 300 and 400 level math classes. Just do the class project well, the written and the oral part, and volunteer a lot and you should get out with a C, because the tests are impossible.
If you have a photograpic memory, you will do fine. He likes things to be VERY specific on the WRITTEN tests. Also take good notes, it will be the difference of passing and failing.
Three stupid hard exams that you have to answer word for word.
